Good food, good service will be coming back. Have had many visits to The Anchor Inn now. Excellent food, service and a good atmosphere. Hope to have many more visits.

Always enjoy our visits to this excellent pub with it's outdoor seating area right on the banks of the River Severn. The food is great value, presentable and good quality, the service is efficient and a decent range of ales & drinks is available. There is the bar drinking area on one level with TV screen for sports etc., whilst the upper bar and dining lounge offers views over the lawned frontage, with sunsets to enjoy when weather permits. Good sized car park, covered outdoor seating area and some quality signed cricket memorabilia framed artwork on the dining area walls. Great pub this is!

Friendly Staff and Locals great snug bar beer well kept. old building but clean. Dogs made welcome in Bar. Will return sooner rather than later

Varied menu that means there's something for everyone and it was good value. Location is perfect for a pint by the river in summer. No surprise this is a popular local.

Lovely pub only found by chance. Good beer garden with fantastic views of the river Severn. Lovely food to have either inside or outside seats available. Definitely recommend a visit. Great place to visit in all weather's to see the different seasons on the river. Vast menu choices. Revisited and never disappointed great food. In the middle of a refurbishment of the lounge bar, this visit didn't impact our time here tonight. Food great service was brilliant. Thank you. See you again soon. 🥰

Absolutely loved the location. I ordered pizza and chips & it came out as a Chicago pizza and just standard oven chips.. for the price very disappointed

First time having a Sunday lunch at The Anchor at Epney for a group of 15, and I must say that the lunch was excellent and very good value for money, and also the staff provided an excellent service. Well done to everyone involved 👏 👍 ☺️

Lovely, friendly, traditional local pub beside the River Severn. Perfect spot to view the Severn Bore - a fascinating natural phenomenon. Coming in from the cold wind to a warm, comfortable environment to enjoy a drink and a chat made my evening.

March 24: Five Star Bore Pub: Great that the owners laid on this natural 10.3m River Severn spectacle and having made use of their river side embankment for viewing it, would have been rude not to support the pub by purchasing tasty bacon baps and coffee inside - Look forward to returning in the summer, when not raining.... 👍

A friendly welcome begins the experience of a traditional pub that serves a variety of well made dishes from a menu or the specials board. Good portions and reasonable prices. Large car park. Would have given 5 stars but the decor is not the most up to date, otherwise will happily visit again anytime 🙂

Mid point of walk along the Severn, great riverside location, good lunch and well kept beers. Portion sizes good and not expensive. Friendly welcome, will undoubtedly return.

Small pub serving food. Large beer garden which overlooks a great view of the river Severn. Visited on a hot Friday afternoon and wasn't too busy. Felt quite peaceful.

We wanted to see the Severn Bore and as The Anchor Inn is right next to the river we booked a table for food. Fast service, good food. Stood by wall now waiting, good times.

The food option was limited to basket meals only. We have eaten basket meals at other pubs previously, chips, salad and chicken, or other options. We ordered one chicken and one vegan finger option. We received one basket of chips and some chicken strips and one basket of vegan fingers. Not a lettuce leaf tomato slice, cucumber piece, or any else in sight. The chips, chicken, and vegan fingers were of low quality, bland in appearance, and without taste. We will not eat there again and would not recommend the pub as a riverside option for lunch or evening meal.

Great find, friendly landlady pleasant staff, the food was spot on and the price for 2 meals and 3 drinks was very fair. Will be back.

Love this pub and location but when we visited wednesday 23rd August for drinks we queried the price of the second round as it was a £1.00 dearer than the first the reaction of the lady serving was rude she gave us a filthy look and did'nt offer us a receipt. Therefore it tainted our visit and we won't be going back anytime soon

The place is nice, i didnt like the beers, i would like to see couple of craft beer like IPA at least in can. I believe foods are from frozen items, therefore i didnt like too much. Service good, personel nice.

The Anchor Inn is a gem on the Severn River with great views, great food, and the very best hospitality. Such a good variety of food and drinks available its difficult to choose from the menu at very reasonable prices

Got charged for a meal we didnt order, then young waitress was rude , more or less threw the rest of the meals on the table, i had cheesy chips and asked if it could be melted, well that was it, on refund for the meal we didnt order got given wrong refund, avoid as jt seems to be run by youngsters that dont wasnt to work.

Beautiful views! Our food was delicious and fresh and the price was very reasonable. A pint of lager and a large coke was a little on the pricy side a bit cheaper on the drinks would of given a 5 but wouldn't put us off visiting again! Nice way to spend a few hours on my birthday.

The pub is situated on the banks of the River Severn, with lots of outdoor eating. We ate inside as it was a bit chilly. The food was really good, I had the Gamon steak which was delicious, others in our party had Faggots, Quorn Chicken pie, Jacket Potato and a toasted sandwich. All of the food was very good. Will definitely visit again

You can't beat this pub for views! Still a little tired looking inside but it's not an inside pub at all, sunny day sat outside by the magnificent river Severn. Good selection of food but pub favourites being ordered. Worried about a 45 minute warning on food but arrived within 25mins! Lovely afternoon!

This is a lovely place on the severn river situated in a lovely place just outside Gloucester called Epney.. There is lovely views and scenery whichever way you go. It's situated near Frampton and Arlingham which is also nice with nice walks.. This Inn has plenty of seating inside and outside, outside can sit by the river.. It's dog friendly.. Plenty of parking also. Staff friendly and welcoming. Inn is clean and tidy. The food is really lovely and hot. They have a good menu with various options and reasonably priced.. It's so nice here would recommend and go again

A pub in a lovely location on the estuary. I’m sure a great pull for those looking for somewhere to drink in the summer. We had meal there. The menu is very 1990s, generous portions but nothing very special. Just did the job and not too expensive.

Stayed in the field in our campervan. Ate in the bar and had a few pints of beer Food was outstanding home cooked meals. Lots of tables outside for the summer trade Toilets were very clean and fresh 👍🏾👍🏾

Visited lunchtime today for an impromptu meal. Received a very warm friendly welcome from Erin who took our order for food and coffee. Sat at table of choice and coffee was promptly served, followed by our meals. I chose the faggots and chips and hubby chose cod and chips. The meals were very large and piping hot and very tasty. The faggots were absolutely delicious and the cod large and succulent. Cannot fault anything and such a reasonable cost, £22.40 in total. Definitely too full to try pudding. Can highly recommend.

The pub is a nice friendly place with old characteristics like pubs used to be!! Great Pub food, very generous portions also do basket meals the staff are friendly and helpful they leave you alone whilst eating unlike some places. Very reasonable prices including kids meals The Faggots chip n peas are a must try on the list at £7.95 Not tried the Sunday lunch but want to The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so if you’ve a large party booking is advisable although in the summer months they’ve loads of seating outside over looking the river Severn.

This is not a "gastropub", neither does it pretend to be. It is a friendly country pub serving a range of good food at sensible prices. The locally made faggots were particularly good. Obviously popular with regulars, not all local. There were no hunters on the day we visited, fortunately. Friendly service, and a decent range of beers on tap. We will return.
