Absolutely 💯% could not fault anything, greeted and taken to our table by Sam, given a glass of bubbly, and served by Kia and Tiana, we enjoyed both courses and then the boss came and took a picture 📸 fantastic 😀 thanks to all especially the chef 👨‍🍳 😀

This venue was a nice place to get good quality food and drinks. Sadly the venue has changed owners and it’s now the dive of Dursley. Quite often see fights and drunk people spilling into the street at all hours. This is not the Kings Head that received the previous good reviews. Completely different pub that needs to be avoided and hopefully shut down soon.

Super friendly staff and the barmaid mixing cocktails up there with Tom Cruise. Entertainment is also up there, great sound system and lighting transformed the venue from a quiet cosy pub to a full on club experience,a great night out !

There was over twenty of us for a meal we had to pree order what we wanted days before but on the night the service was poor and the food well don't go there if you like food it was awful. If you go there just for a drink and you don't mind some of the local cliantel that would be ok

- cold food . - didn’t understand what being coeliac meant , the chef and the bar staff had no clue . - forgot our drinks , had to ask them when our food came after 30 minutes of waiting - didn’t have stuff on the menu , not enough options for people with dietary requirements and they had little knowledge of what it meant . They had barely any stock of food and I kept getting told they didn’t have stuff . Then was offered a pie which I had no other choice than to have as we had paid for our meals . We were offered little sympathy and we felt quite awkward . Not professional at all ! Waste of money for frozen food that we could have cooked at home .

We decided to give it another chance and 4 of us went on Sunday for a roast dinner and what a lovely surprise. Meat and vegetables were wonderful, enormous homemade yorkshire puddings and the service was exceptional, highly recommend

I have not been since New Changeover….( first review not good) previous was NO good limited opening times, food well overpriced! Complex menu? Please be a “PUB”:again. Reasonable priced…….good basic pub food…..even pop in for coffee/ etc…would be the best option well required in Dursley. Otherwise….sadly this will have the same demise as last one??

No welcome, had to ask at bar where table reserved, had to ask an other. No menu had to ask at bar what food was for dinner. Ordered 5 beef and 1 turkey roast, delivered to table. Started to eat cold plates. Cold uncooked baby carrots, cold broccoli, Beef was cool but tender. I ate the meal because I was hungry. Didn't enjoy..No service staff available to complain until the waitress came to clear table. Asked we enjoyed meal all six gave a negative reply and rhe reasons. Response. Sorry will tell the chef. Didn't bother about sweet didn't like waste anymore money. £90 wasted. We got up and left Don't we will return in a hurry

Went for lunch, table of six. What a meal, simply stunning. Two grazing boards, burger, lamb pie and a house salad. All perfect. My brother in law who is a chef agreed. Great service too. The new team will have a lot to live up to.

Best place locally by far! Food is of a high standard but not over priced. Smart and friendly place to go and spacious. Always go here now and can’t recommend enough.

Visited with family initially and was so good a week later came back with wife. Good beer selection the menu is different and imaginative and in this day and age reasonably priced. Had the Thai red curry from the specials board it was excellent. The decor is modern clean and welcoming I would recommend. Dursley needs places like this.

Visited for Sunday Lunch. I chose 2pm, when they had started serving at 12, but this did not affect the meal at all. My husband had the beef, which was lovely and pink in the middle, I had the vegan nut roast, with my own pot of delicious vegan cauliflower cheese! It was all very good, the vegetables being perfectly cooked. Thankfully we didn't have a starter, and couldn't manage a dessert. Service was timely, although by this time it was quite quiet. Highly recommended, will definitely visit again.

Sunday lunch was excellent! The food was delicious and the service was good. The venue was beautifully decorated and a lovely atmosphere.

A brilliant evening. Great beer and excellent wines to accompany a super dinner. Very imaginative menu with good range of dishes. All the food was well presented and perfectly cooked with good portions at a most competitive price. I had the anchovies as a starter followed by the Lamb and potato pie (with lovely dauphinoise potatoes and vegetable selection) with Treacle tart as a dessert. My three friends chose different dishes, including the steak - all of us were really impressed. The organic Merlot was a perfect accompaniment to the pie. The waiting staff were very attentive. I was on holiday, for a few days, in the Dursley area and this was a brilliant find. I wish they could open another one near to where I live in Kent. Thanks to everyone at the King's Head for a brilliant evening. I look forward to returning sometime in the future when I am next in the area.

Went for Saturday lunch waited 10+ for waitress (only 1 on duty) to order a drink. Waited again for our food order to be taken. The prawn stater…well you buy it out of a packet stick in the oven for a few minutes and serve…with a high price, all you could taste was the crumbs don’t know where the “prawns were”. We waited 45+ minutes for the main dish…..wow lovely presentation….BUT…the lovely “Lamb Pie” was nothing like lamb but just a mush of mince/meat? Tasteless, the vegetables were well under cooked….just with a bit of gravy on the side. Most of the meals we had we could not eat due to the undercooked tasteless vegetables. Bill came to £40.00 True waste of money. If you a pie and chips eater then this place is great, but we are use to fine dining.

We had Christmas lunch here and it was an excellent experience. The pub itself is nicely presented but it had made an extra effort for Christmas Day and it was laid like a restaurant. Starter was a platter of canapés and an espresso cup of very good butternut squash soup. Christmas meal was good. Dessert (I chose baklava) excellent. Coffee was one of best I’ve had (cappuccino). Good drinks and friendly service. Well done Kings Head a great day. Reasonably priced.

Under new management with a new menu. No longer the restaurant Mezze as far as I can see, which wasn't much, as we went there to try it Sunday lunchtime and it was closed.

Friendly staff who go out of their way to make you happy. Serving coffee and light refreshments through to a nice evening meal.

Acabo de tomar un café, pero era agradable y tenía un ambiente agradable, así que pensé en comer aquí y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Tenía tapas y fue todo un valor bueno e increíble. ¡El primer plato fue gambas y obtuve 10 piezas para lo que terminó siendo 4! ! Tuve la mía en casa recientemente del supermercado y obtuve 13 piezas por 3 en oferta especial de 5 y, por supuesto, ¡tuve que cocinarla! También vino con una buena salsa tártara de tomate. El plato más sabroso fue el pollo persa y fue realmente bueno. Totalmente accesible para sillas de ruedas con baño para discapacitados (un poco cómodo, pero estaba bien para mi silla manual y ¡soy bastante grande!). Muy recomendable. Vendré de nuevo cuando esté aquí

Esta fue nuestra segunda visita en los últimos meses y no nos decepcionó. La comida era realmente buena (teníamos tapas) y el servicio eficiente y amable. También es muy buena relación calidad-precio. Estaba un poco tranquilo para un viernes por la noche y me pregunto si esto se debe a la naturaleza algo ambigua de la Cabeza del Rey. Forma afuera es un pub. Desde el interior es un restaurante y dice ser un mezze, pero de hecho es un restaurante de tapas.

Clearly been recently refurbished and aesthetically pleasing. Friendly service. Just had drinks but all served really nice. Big gin goblets etc. Children welcome and high chairs available.

Decidimos probar la cabeza de los reyes, ya que se volvió a abrir recientemente. ¡El bistec fue el peor que he probado y consistía solo en grasa! La salsa de pimienta no sabía a nada y cuando muy amablemente le dijimos a la señora que ella dijo "no, la salsa es buena, te equivocas". No hace falta decir que no volveremos y que nuestras billeteras pesan 50 libras menos.

It's an amazing place. The waitress was really pleasant and she smiled at us. The beer and wine was very good. Coffee was great aswell and far better than local cafe's We had also lovely meal here,very tasty

Nothing much wrong but so charmless it begins to infringe the law of hospitality.I suppose being in a high street at lunch might make for atmosphere. But the high street is so run down joy seems to have been sucked out of the place. We were the only clients and the food was fine but the £20+ event was so depressing. A Sainsbury's sandwich eaten whilst sitting on a bench would have been more fun.

Went to mezze with family they liked the idea of being able to choose 3 dishes and enjoyed what they had .We were served by a lovely waitress.Very well priced food

Quite expensive about price but really nice food, lovely staff, relax place you can go with your friends or family.

Visited with friend, friendly staff, table service, had chicken tikka with chips, nice except only 3 pieces of chicken. My friend had lamb curry, she had plenty of lamb with rice. Lovely puddings, brownie with ice-cream, yum. Just put more chicken in chicken curry!!! Will visit again but will try something else.

Visited on a quiet ish weekday evening. Pleasant staff. Good menu choice. 3 portions each - generous and interesting. Succumbed to pudding as well - choc brownie and salted caramel ice cream - yummy. Happy customers - will return!

This place had been recommended to us. We were a party of 14 and had been asked to order ahead to make life easier for the kitchen, fair enough as we were in on a Friday night in December. However, we were just about the only customers eating that night! We had a selection of the meze which were fine, generous portion size, reasonably priced and good service. Sadly completely lacking in atmosphere.

I’m not too happy about writing this review. Because I generally really like the Mezze menu and until today never had anything to moan about. But despite offering what I believed to be a great Xmas menu I was disappointed to discover that although the menu was up to scratch, the food wasn’t. Starter was smoked salmon, not presented well at all. And although the salmon was nice, the rest left a lot to be desired. Main was a traditional roast turkey with trimmings. Except the veg was mixed in a bowl to share between 3 people instead of on plate. Potatoes weren’t all cooked. No sprouts (a sin in my opinion). Desert was chocolate Torte and was nice. We also had to ask for the free bottle of wine at the end of meal, because they forgot to give it to us. I’ll happily eat from normal menu, but will never do Xmas again

Came here on the recommendation of local residents and enjoyed a pleasant meal from a large tapas selection of vegetarian, meat and seafood dishes. There are also a limited number of full plate sized dishes.Some of our selections were excellent while one or two fell a bit short...that's the Advantage of tapas that you aren't stuck with a whole poor plate that you have to make the best of.Good value, prompt and friendly service

Good food. Excellent choice - very varied menu and vast number of dishes on offer. Fast service. Would have liked some advice from waitress before ordering - requested further information but only a little offered. However, suggestion about number of portions to order was helpful. Mezze portion sizes good. 3 per person with some left over. Rather rich food high in protein so may have been a good idea to have some carbohydrate apart from a small dish of potatoes we chose from the mezze selection.

Visited The Kings Head for a drink and ended up staying for lunch. The Mezze is absolutely fantastic. 4 of us ate and we had 4 dishes between us. That with a couple of drinks each was around £60. Great value as it was all fresh and there was plenty to go around

What a fantastic meal. Great service even though the waiter seemed to be on his own. Well worth the visit and will be going back.

My friend and I visited today with our children. Lovely range of food. The children had small dishes to pick from and we had egg royale and nachos. Both were delicious and we will definitely be returning.

We had a really good time here with six of us ordering 3 tapas each. Such a variety and very tasty. Very good service. Having the big screen for football was fun but cleverly placed so it wasn’t intrusive. Don’t understand why there weren’t more customers; people are missing a trick, especially as it’s in walking distance

Booked online very simple. Warm welcome and menu explanation from efficient waitress. Ordered the Grand Mezze - service a wee bit slow no problem. Came as three courses first plated and the next two as a mezze. Food quality was good, only the BBQ ribs were not nice and I think that they were of the boil in the bag variety. Could not eat third course so it was efficiently boxed up for us. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was very spacious and rustic.

We are local to the area but this was our first visit to the Kings Head.We made a booking as it was Friday night but had no trouble getting the time we wanted.Drinks were brought over quickly, and we didn’t have to wait to order. Most food came quickly but the waitress did come back 5 minutes later and was surprised the other two dishes hadn’t arrived.That said the food was fresh and very tasty. We enjoyed the whole meal and the salt and pepper squid was a clear favourite.We will be returning.

It’s great to have another option to eat out in Dursley, particularly something a little different. The pub has been converted to a sort of restaurant, it is nice enough in terms of decor and comfort, and the service was good with friendly attentive waiters. The concept is that of ‘mezze’ ie small portions that you can share. You can have three for fifteen quid and three per person would fill you up. There’s a list of vegetarian meat and fish mezze to choose from. Ostensibly it is Mediterranean however there are some different things in the menu eg an oriental dish. The choice is a bit random, I guess a kind of fusion cuisine but the choice of items seems a bit arbitrary eg a Turkish salad but then a Hungarian goulash? However you can at least choose and experiment many different things. My main concern is that, echoing other people’s feedback, some of the dishes are good, but others distinctly average. The Hungarian goulash was not even remotely close to a goulash but rather some over cooked tough meat in a barbecue sauce (I’m half Hungarian I assure you there was nothing Hungarian about it). The fish stew was rather insipid. In contrast the Turkish salad was lovely and refreshing. So a bit of a mixed bag really. Not wholly impressed by the food. But if you know the best items to order you can have an enjoyable meal.

We enjoyed fish and chips here today. The food was well cooked; crispy batter, lovely thick home cooked chips and a good tartar sauce. The young lady serving was friendly and we didn’t wait long for our food.

Visiting for my 70th birthday lunch with the family on Sunday 27th May 2018. We were a group of 18, 13 adults and 5 children aged 3-10. We ate from across the menus, starters from the mezze menu, Sunday roasts, desserts and the children's menu. Having pre-booked for a large party, all dishes were excellent and with no mistakes on what was ordered and no one missing any food. Nothing was too much trouble even to the point of the children changing their minds on what to eat. No fuss made when the children decided to change what thy had originally ordered and additional desserts ordered.I requested eating in the main bar area rather than the restaurant and the staff had arranged the seating perfectly.The service was excellent, staff always there if needed and the manager Mitch a pleasure to deal with. From the day I booked the table, taking in the menu choices and on the day the whole experience was a delight! I had visited twice previously and had good food so was not disappointed on this occasion and will certainly visit again. Janet B.

The service was excellent ; attentive yet unobtrusive. There was a slight delay with some pre ordered dishes which was instantly rectivied by the offer of them being on the house. This was a large, mixed age family party of 10 from not quite 2 years to 83! Everyone was very happy - the relaxed, informal atmosphere was ideal. We chose a variety of dishes which is a strong point of this restaurant- something for everyone! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and particular highlights were the whitebait, the Kalahari and the Turkish delight ice cream!The decor is very modern yet comfortable - a welcome addition to Dursley!

We thought just one waitress was insufficient for the number of customers when we visited Mezze.I do not denigrate the ability of the one waitress. She was very efficient.We ordered six plates and of these, two were good,three satisfactory, and the king prawns were overcooked and drowned in too much sauce.We shared a dessert and this was excellent

Cannot thank the Mezze team enough for helping to make this such a special occasion. ..nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was great taking into account gluten and dairy free requirements. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Thank you, thank you.

First time lunch visit with extended family. Whilst the decor of the place is rather mundane, service at the bar was dire.....but the table service and food were fabulous!! There are so many dishes to choose from and every single one of them is cooked to perfection. Cannot fault any aspect at all. Will be sure to visit again. Well done chef!!

We asked for a quiet table and we were immediately moved to the perfect spot. All the staff tried to make our meal as enjoyable as possible and the food was great. Highly recommend it.

After a long walk we were after somewhere that could accommodate a large group for Sunday lunch and this place could. None of us were sure about mezze but were amazed by the food choices and the size of the dishes. They also did a large Sunday roast for those who wanted more traditional. In our group we had 1 person who is gluten free and 2 vegetarians one of which is also gluten free. All are used to having a limited menu in a restaurant but everyone had a huge choice. There was also an interesting cocktails list as well.We did find some of the dishes not as tasty as others but everyone went away completely stuffed. So stuffed we couldn't manage any puddings even though they sounded equally as tasty.We enjoyed it so much we are going back in a few weeks time and all can't wait to try something different.

You have to go in the back door as the front door still says Kings Head. The split personality has a lot of people confused is it a pub? is it a restaurant? How long is acceptable to wait?

Have been here 4 times now. 2nd visit me and other half had the Grand Meze. There were 18 dishes so make sure you're hungry if you have this! Service is good, dishes are definitely generously sized . Good selection for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. The bar also does a wide choice of drinks including cocktails. Highly recommend

Nice newly refurbished restaurant, comfy furniture and plenty of tables. Menu is quite large and it’s tough to choose what to have (not complaining), so we had 3 meals each and shared the 6 between us. Plates are a good size for tapas, a lot of tapas is too small and it makes you order more but the sizes were just right. Food was bought to the table very quickly and it was hot, fresh and tasty. Considering it was pretty busy it’s amazing how fast it was delivered. Staff are attentive but not annoying. We live locally and will definitely keep returning. Great addition to the local area.

Having such a wide variety of choices that were foreign to us we decided to go for the "Grand Mezze" at £18 each. This encompasses three courses of popular choices, each course has multiple dishes of different food. The first course was lovely, the second course was lovely to but much as we tried we were too full to finish it. Having sung praises of the food thus far consumed my partner asked if we could take the 3rd course in a box. They presented her with a carrier bag within which was each portion individually boxed. This meal was excellent value for money, if you have a large appetite or not, I would recommend it

We went to celebrate a family dinner. The service was excellent, the staff are very friendly. There is a great choice on the menu and it is really good value. We had a real mix of the tapas and enjoyed most our choices, there are plenty of other things on the menu we would also like to try.

Nice food, we didn't book in-advance, however if there's more than four of you, I suggest you book a table. Food was nice, not much choice for veggies, but hey! Good service although slow! Good atmosphere, reasonable prices.

I booked a table for 19 people in October 2017 for this Sunday at 5.30pm. Since then they have changed their opening hours and shut on a Sunday st 6pm but they were happy to stay open for us. The food was great and nothing was too much trouble. Even though it was past their closing time they didn’t rush us or make us feel we needed to hurry up. Will definitely be going back

A pub turned restaurant. Have now been 3 times. Different occasions, as couple, mixed friends and lads night out. Each time the food was great and very filling. Price was excellent and there is just enough of each dish to enjoy. This is on my list of favourites.

We visited Mezze in Dursley for the first time on Saturday. We hadn't booked beforehand, but the staff were very accommodating, despite the fact they were fully booked they slotted my wife and daughter in. We enjoyed the 3 dishes from the wide selection of food on the menu and found something nice for our daughter on the children's menu, the atmosphere and surroundings warm and comfortable. We will definately visit again.

We have been to Mezze in Thornbury several times and were so pleased when they announced they were opening in Dursley.The Food and Menu has had a seamless transfer to the Kings Head. A well varied menu with something for everyone and amazing value for money.Only small issue was they waiter failed to check back after serving food and we had to go to the bar to order extra drinks. They were busy but as a table service restaurant this should be standard.Saying that still a great night and good atmosphere.Good Luck - We will be back

Good addition to the Dursley restaurant scene. Chose a selection of small plates including duck, chicken tagine, fish stew, rice with chick peas and roasted vegetables. Nice flavours and decent portion sizes for the money. The interior is basic but comfortable enough and service very friendly. Recommended.

We really enjoyed our first visit to the Mezze in Dursley. We were a group of 2 families with youngish children. You can sit in the main restaurant or the pub and we went for the main restaurant which looks to be a converted skittle alley. It's nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a Saturday night and both areas seemed full with a very good relaxed atmosphere. There was so much choice on the menu. You can do the tapas selection or they have main meals and there is also a menu for the children. The food was excellent all round. My wife and her friend had cocktails while I opted for a couple of pints. The service was good all evening. No hesitation to highly recommend this restaurant.

On a Saturday night two weeks before Christmas, we expected it to be busy and it was - must have been 100 people there. Understandably the service was not lightning fast, but it was still efficient and friendly. We each chose to have the 3 mezze dishes for £14.25. The sea salt & pepper squid and the spiced vegetable borek were excellent, the Grecian butter bean & feta stew was good and the halloumi dolmades OK. The smoked salmon and avocado bruschetta was good, but slightly spoiled by its base of heavy bread which had naturally turned rather damp. The shredded duck crostini was a disappointment, as the duck and rocket had been stirred into a large quantity of hoisin sauce which swamped the flavours and turned the whole dish into a soggy tangle of sweetness. Our two glasses of sauvignon were spot on, and so was the crusty bread served on the side. Good value overall at £50 for two. Looking forward to trying some different dishes next time.

3 dishes each was just the right amount and all were lovely. And the baclava with Turkish delight ice cream was exceptional

Family birthday meal to the Mezze, we were not really sure what to expect. It would have been nice if the waitress could have explained how it works with ordering your dishes. The room (old skittle alley) was a little on the chilly side. Overall the food was very nice and the experience was good, but definitely need to look at improving their communication with the customers.

Visited here with family and had a pleasant experience. The food was ok but I was not bowled over by it. Staff were friendly and service was swift. As it was new and just been refurbished it did seem rather cold and lacked in atmosphere. I would possibly try it again but would not rush back.

Visited The King's Head Mezze for a midweek lunch. It has a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere and is beautifully decorated. The choice of Mezze's is amazing with all tastes catered for - vegetable, seafood and meat. We chose the 3 Mezze deal for £14.25, which proved to be ample between 2 people. The flavours in each of the dishes were absolutely exquisite! The service was very good, staff friendly and the place, spotlessly clean. All in all it was a great dining experience at a very reasonable price. We definitely will be returning.

We booked for a weekday meal for four and were notified that we would have to wait a bit longer for food as they had a party but we were happy to wait. We were quickly seen by a waiter and ordered our food. After 45 minutes we asked how long it would be and were told another 10 minutes, half an hour later we still didn't have any food. We ended up waiting an hour and a half for food. When it finally came some dishes were nice, others were not so good. We also didn't get everything we ordered and got some different dishes we hadn't ordered. They did take the drinks off the bill which was good of them and explained that there chef had called in sick. Nothing they could do but they should have said they didn't have enough staff to cope with a busy restaurant that night when we booked. The food was average, decor and atmosphere was good though and staff were friendly. I would give it a try though as we just had a bad experience that day.

Visited yesterday with my wife, we had the grand mezze, Great good but it was very busy so I can only say the service was good, enjoyed a few cocktails and overall very nice. As an aside we also noticed plenty of high chairs so just in case we bring the family next time!

We had a lovely birthday dinner at the new Mezze in Dursley. 3 adults and 2 children. The food was amazing even found lots of things for the kids which was surprising. Chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream was to die for. Will definetly be going back. They have done such a good job on the decorating and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Newly reopened refurbished pub in the centre of town. Our two visits since opening have both been excellent with a large variety of superb dishes cooked to a high standard

Met a group of friends for Sunday lunch today and we were all very impressed with the food, service and overall lunch experience. The decor is lovely and has a restaurant feel rather than "pub". The menu was pretty extensive but once we all decided on our "3 mezze dishes" we were not disappointed as the food was well presented, tasty and hot. A fab lunch was enjoyed by all.

I visited Mezze as a group of 15 last week for my birthday. We were greeted by staff and as soon as we were seated they were ready to take our drinks orders which was brilliant. They already had our meal orders prior to arrival so brought our meals out exactly when we asked for them, brilliant service! The range of tappas is huge, I think everyone had something different and nearly every plate was empty at the end of the meal. The décor is perfect for the setting as well, quite retro! Overall a very good experience!

Very poor service. Waited one and a half hours for our food to arrive. Talked to staff but they just said " I will talk to the kitchen" Will not be returning again.

We visited for Sunday lunch with much anticipation, expecting a different menu of fresh food. Like the idea of ordering a mix of mezze plates. Disappointingly, the food seemed as if it was mass produced frozen to cooked food, with an abundance of spinach added! One of us ordered the Sunday roast option which was ordinary too. Service was pleasant and the refurbishment of the pub has been done nicely. Noise a problem in the restaurant as there were am few children eating which is not a problem itself, but there are few soft furnishings to absorb the sound.

A warm welcome given to our party, and help offered with disabled access. Sat in the old skittle alley which has been done out quite nice. Slippy tile floor though, go careful. Good food served, but some a tad cold by the time we got it. Overall 4 star

Having not long opened we decided to try their Sunday Lunch. I had the beef very nice with tasty gravy and lovely rosemary potatoes. First time I've had Turkish delight ice cream as well. The new owners have done a fantastic job with the pub and we will be returning again.
