We didnt try the pub food so cant comment. Lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly. We had my grand daughters birthday party there. Lovely afternoon

Such a great pub. I don't mind the 30 min walk at all, well worth it. So genuine and friendly.

About time I left a review as we're regulars here. It's a great pub with proper food and beer. Walk in and everyone speaks to one another which is rare for a pub I think. You're made to feel welcome and they genuinely care about people. I've seen so many acts of kindness here it's heartwarming. The prices are reasonable especially when compared to other local pubs. The Sunday roast is epic. Do yourself a favour and go for a pint and some nice grub.

The food was good but not the best. One of those places that everyone stops talking and turns around to look at you. Then the abrasive and rushed serving staff asks you to order a drink before being seated, sadly you can't see what is available because you can't get near the bar. They didn't have the first 3 drinks we asked for and we just ended up pointing and hoping for the best, it all felt rushed and unwelcoming. The apple crumble was black on top and inedible but the only comment from them was "we will take it off the bill" sorry is not a word they use often it seems

I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful meal. As a coeliac I dread going out for meals as quite often pubs/restaurants don't really understand gluten free, and/or have barely any choice. Not at The Red Tile though! For the first time in a long time I couldn't decide what to choose as I actually had many options. The food tasted amazing and the portions were huge. I have been gluten free since 2017 and the onion rings tasted how i remember them tasting pre coeliac, so much so that I began to doubt they were gluten free (they were!). It just goes to show that gluten free doesn't have to mean to taste free! Thank you so much Mac, Rachel and Tish

Came here whilst we were in the area for 2 nights. The food was amazing, such huge portions but so very tasty we came back on the 2nd night. The burger was the best I’ve ever eaten and great value for money. I wish we were staying longer so I could try more things on the menu. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return if we are in the area again.

Love this pub, nothing is too much trouble and Mack is amazing, good home cooked food. But book!

Went here for the Sunday carvery which at £10 is one of the cheapest I know in the area. Large car park with a few pot holes easily avoided; it is a short walk back to the pub so I dropped my disabled mother off right outside then went to park. There are a couple of outdoor seating areas available, a swing and a trampoline for kids should the weather suit. A smoking bin is provided outside by the door for anyone needing it. Inside the pub is in the style of a traditional English country pub, extensive seating flows away to the left of the entrance with a smaller bar area on the right; leading through to what looks like a function room with large screen on the wall. I also noticed a poker table folded away so I’m guessing there are or have been some games evenings at some stage. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, greeted with a smile and an immediate offer of a drink. It wasn’t long before we were invited up to the carvery to get our food; our table being situated in the first part of the seating area to the left of the entrance by a log fire sadly not lit but it wasn’t that cold. There was a decent selection on the carvery with meat options including Turkey and beef or a nut roast. They also cater for gluten free which is great! The food itself on the carvery wasn’t too good, I found the parsnips hard, the roast potatoes were okay a little tough and the Turkey was a bit dry. The gravy, veg and pigs in blankets were lovely though. For dessert I had the apple crumble with pouring cream, it was okay, a little tasteless and could have done with some sugar I guess for taste. The coffee after was very good. There is free Wi-Fi available with no password required just select the BT guest option, agree to their terms and conditions and you’re in. The pub is also dog friendly which is great! Based on this experience I wouldn’t come back for the carvery but I would like to try the normal menu on another day. The pub and staff overall are great.

Ok so booked for 8 adults and 4 children for a Sunday lunch 30/10/2022, when we arrived we were taken to a room with a table set up that sat us all together comfortably , we went and got our carvery's of which we all thought was really nice with plenty to choose from ! the staff were all very pleasant and helpful , I fully recommend this lovely pub and we will be dinning here again soon. Thanks to all the staff .

Friendly publicans. Epic (skittles) food. Whilst we did not use it at night, you could see plenty of outdoor space and parking.

Stayed here in Ruby our campervan on a britstop. Warm welcome, good selection of drinks, great meal and lovely nights sleep, would recommend. .

Great little pub with a fantastic atmosphere reasonably priced drinks and very tasty food. My partner is vegetarian and they had no issues whipping up what my partner described as a delicious veggie burger. Well worth a visit

Not a pleasant experience, rude staff, no ambience, a wouldnt life be easy without customers attitude. not open very often either, three locals but apart from that we were the only people in there. The landlady when conversing with her customer s seemed unable to put together a sentence that did not include the f word.

Great friendly pub and excellent Sunday lunch.

I recently visited the Red Tile with my family (kids aged 4 and 11). As a family we’re always looking for places to go where the kids can play/ be entertained and we can enjoy some great food. The Red Tile does just this. The kids were able to play outside on the trampoline and the rope swing. The service was fabulous! They were amazing, interacting with the children which is always a bonus when eating out. The food was absolutely amazing, great portion sizes and very accommodating. Very reasonably priced too! This is now our now ‘go to’ place when deciding to eat out.

Where to start. From what I can understand from reviews and speaking to the locals they don't visit here any more and I can see why. Lets start with the dangerous, they have a large trampoline on the grass area which has no safety netting or barrier and its not sunk into the ground. Also has some holes in it. This is a broken bone with kids (or even drunk adults) just waiting to happen. Trying to keep the kids off it is a nightmare. There is also a ropy swing (ropy in both senses of the word) hanging from a tree. I'd say safe(ish) but for less weighty occupants. Now the food. Edible but sub standard. Looking at the burger menu and when it arrived I did initially think it looked good . However just no flavour. Had a chicken burger when came in thick batter and zero seasoning so just tasted like a batter burger. Chips also nice and think but oily inside. I'm not a fan of a McD's but I would rather have had that than this. Now the Rude. Never in all my years have I come across such poor customer service. Swearing behind the bar and when trying to raise an issue I'm greeted with hostility, swearing and rude behaviour. I won't go in to the detail online as I tried to raise it with them directly the right way... however fell on deaf ears. I would say if your reading this in June 2023 or beyond then try the place out! as the current owners/managers will have gone out of business by then. Hopefully someone with even an ounce of customer service will be running it. Try to end on a positive... The drink was nice...!

Went to the pub here for a lovely few drinks for my ex school friends wedding night - a regular called Mark gave myself a free lift home after finding that a taxi would cost around £70 for absolutely free. Please give this kind soul a free drink for his altruism!

Recommended by a friend and so glad we went. Lovely friendly staff on arrival. So much choice on the menu, really struggled to decide what to have. Choose the surf and turf. So many different choices of potatoes and sides. My friend had the mixed grill which defeated him....just! Wish I'd taken a photo now!! Will definitely be going back to try more from the menu! Pub was clean, well decorated, toilets very clean and spacious. Will absolutely recommend a visit to all my friends 😀

My wife and I first time visiting the Red Tile, and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. The food was off good quality and the portions were very generous. We will be returning again and I would recommend to all to enjoy an evening at the Red Tile.

We’ve been twice now and on both occasions the food has been absolutely wonderful. The service is lovely, very friendly and helpful. There was a lady at another table who was gluten free and they were happy to check everything and it’s lovely to know my coeliac mum would be able to have a great meal here. Last night my husband and I were so impressed with the food that we ended up having 3 courses, everything was well cooked, the homemade curry was a big hit and the creamy garlic mushroom starter was next tier, I could have eaten a vat of it and died a happy woman. We’ll definitely be back more often, it’s not our local but I think it will become our go to.

Book your table if you want to try a great pub meal. Plenty of choice and guaranteed to be tasty and home cooked. Fresh food doesn't appear in a few minutes so enjoy a drink or 2 whilst you wait. It is a friendly pub and yes, we use it lots! Scampi or a steak or a home made curry there is something for everyone. If you can manage a dessert a slice of cheesecake is recommended. Have never left feeling hungry and heard many visitors complimenting the chef.

The staff were really friendly and there was a really good selection on the menu. I wasn't very hungry so I went for the bacon and brie panini and the others went for a hotdog (which was 3 sausages in a baguette) and burgers stuffed with cheese (one cheddar and the other stilton). Everything was really tasty and well cooked. We couldn't resist the homemade white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake or the chocolate Malteser cheesecake served with ice-cream. They could have been really sickly but they weren't, they were delicious 😋😋

Always a good atmosphere. Food is amazing, good value and really good portion sizes. We always leave with happy tummies. Menu has a good choice to suit everyone. Would highly recommend

re visited the red tile just before lockdown when we stayed with friends in the village. they appear to change chefs almost every month. Not very covid aware and a general lack of interest from the owners /managers where just about anything seemed like too much trouble. Just about empty and we were told most locals had given up on the place and gone elsewhere. our friends tell us it used to be really busy but the current owners had run it down with poor food and attitude to service and customers alike. The great british pub? not this one! Not worth a revisit but most likely to shut for good pretty soon.

Beautifully cooked food. Me and my friends came for the burgers and were certainly not disappointed! Everything came out perfect, and the staff are just lovely! travelling down to cornwall and was looking for somewhere handy off the M5 . Was starting to despair when. we happened upon this little gem . Great new Chef with a fantastic menu. Currently evenings and Sunday lunch. All food cooked by the chef and served by him to the table. Popular choice menu, steaks, gammon ,burgers,thai curry and more with specials. We enjoyed starters of breaded garlic mushrooms and calamari. Mains of thai green curry, minted lamb rack, buttermilk chicken burger in ciabatta roll. All with appropriate sides. Great tasting food, freshly cooked so nice space between courses. Friendly local pub. Booked in for sunday lunch as menu choices look fantastic.

Loved visiting this place - local wateringhole that even the Vicar would attend :) Back in the day there was a goat in the yard named Petal.

Small portions. Won't be back. Went few months ago food was plentiful hot and generous. Maybe the chef has changed? It certainly wasn't very good. Puddings expensive. Eton mess consisted of 2 cut up strawberries, I shop bought meringue and spray cream. For £5 or £6 I would expect better than that. It wasn't value for money. Pub itself is nice. We visited on june 28th. It was booked for 10.

Thought we would try the curry night here, the restaurant has a new chef, just started and he didn't let us down. Great authentic curry. The regular menu also looked very interesting, am going to try it next week, those eating gave it rave reviews.

New chef !! Wouldn’t bother again used to be great food unsure what’s happened but was told new cook and to be honest wouldn’t return food was Luke warm over cooked and hospitality was awful won’t be returning

Wow, took a last second turn off the A39 as The Red Tile was signposted just before the turn. It was a snap decision to eat here but so glad we did. Honest pub food that is very well made with quality fresh ingredients. The hunters chicken was just perfick! Heres my before and after pics.

My partner and I stopped by at the Red Tile Inn for a drink but then we decided to try out the food as well after checking some reviews. I had a veggie burger which was really beautiful, served with chargrilled pepper, courgette red onion and cheddar on top of the burger. Served with delicious chips, mixed salad, coleslaw and sweet red cabbage. It was really nom nom!

This pub is a little gem serving excellent food at reasonable prices. The food is good quality pub grub. I would highly recommend it. There is a daily specials sheet which is varied and offers an alternative to the standard menu. Try it you wont be dissapointed.

We stopped in this pub for lunch on our way to Bridgwater. There is a good selection of light bites for lunch. Ours were tasty and the staff was friendly. The pub also has an old fashioned skittle alley which I wouldn't mind trying another time! It is a good place for a lunch stop and there is ample parking. Check the website because they don't offer lunch at the beginning of the week.

Expected the usual carvery but got far more than that. Best carvery we have had! All fresh ingredients, meat fabulously cooked, home made everything, even desserts! Well worth a visit, lovely historic building too.

Fathers day lunch and not disappointed. 12.30 booked and eating by 12.45. All meats available and quality outstanding. Portions to suit your appetite and simply cooked to perfection. Lots of veg choices available. Nothing was rushed and although staff were busy the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Lots of dessert choices available and delicious. Reasonable prices all round. Very highly recommend.

Tasty carvery, delicious home made sweets with friendly and efficient service what more could you ask for in a delightful country pub in a pretty village setting.
