Absolutely perfect - lovely rooms, great food, friendly staff, cosy pub. Faultless!

Had Sunday lunch here, one of the best we’ve had and they dealt really well with my allergy.

Fantastic hotel with great food, welcoming staff, and a delicious pint of Cheddar Valley. You can't ask for much more than that.

Not the cheapest beer in town but food is excellent and not too badly priced ,because it's also a hotel and they always employ qualified chefs a good tip to remember if you don't want pre prepared microwaved and fried food 🥝

Always a friendly welcome and good food

10 of us booked for lunch arrived 1220 for 1230 1300 asked if they were coming to take order they eventually did apparently a couple of us were told starters 20 mins 30 minutes food which would have been fine if the rest had known but that wasn't the case anyway we were there for almost 2 hours before mains were served one lady actually couldn't wait and had to leave. No apology or reason why, food was very good when eventually did arrive.

Decided to pop in for dinner whilst on holiday as it’s such a beautiful looking building and was blown away by the food! Exceptional value for money, faultless, and (most importantly) delicious. We were stuffed!

We (family of 7 - aged 14 months to 62 yrs) had an amazing meal here. One of us is coeliac and very nervous about eating out. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome and reassured. The service was amazing e.g. our 14 month old granddaughter was a bit fractious as she was hungry and tired, so the team very thoughtfully expedited her dinner. The team were fantastic, friendly and so welcoming. The food was delicious and plentiful . If you’re looking for a great eating experience, look no further!

The sign outside says 'Seriously good food'. I'd agree with that. Went there for Sunday evening dinner and the wife and I had roasts. What can I say, lovely. I even wanted to lick the plate. I would definitely eat there again when visiting Cheddar.

Staff are lovely and friendly, food is excellent and good location . Rooms starting to show wear and tear, need a refresh at some point soon, but would not hesitate to recommend

Come here mainly for lunch 2-3 times a month. Always consistently good food whether a sandwich or a 3 course meal. Particularly love the French onion soup at the moment

been here several times before and had lovely meals rebooked for today for a family member’s birthday and was nothing less than awful, slow service, food came out at separate times and was cold and was told that our slot was up so couldn’t have a desert, even though we waited over 45 minuets for our food to be served when we asked to be moved into the bar area for desert we were told they couldn’t accommodate us and that we needed to pay the bill and leave, upsetting experience for multiple members of our family, will not be returning.

One of the few pubs in the area with a car park and enough tables to generally be able to offer a decent meal without needing to book in advance.

Pretty much all we would want in a pub. Three visits in three days whilst staying at the nearby campsite. Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, roaring fires, good local ale, interesting menu and an easy walk home. We will definitely be back next time we stay in Cheddar 👍

Fantastic food, great service and lovely atmosphere. We have now visited this location a few times and each has been a great experience. Menu is large enough to provide you with plenty of delicious options instead of the usual 5 ‘pub grub’ choices. Food has always been quickly served and of a fantastic standard. We are likely to be regular customers for years to come.

Stayed in the hotel for one night the room was well stocked with coffee and tea bags aswell as snacks the breakfast was great and the service friendly

We came to cheddar for the weekend and on Sunday our group of five and two dogs had Sunday roasts and fish and chips ,the food was beautiful and the service was amazing and very friendly ,even my big lump of a dog wasn't a problem for the great team there ! Thankyou and next time we are in the area we will most definitely be back.

We have just returned from a one night stay at The Bath Arms and thoroughly recommend it. The food and table service were excellent. Although the restaurant was naturally quiet on a winter's Sunday evening, we know that they had catered for hundreds of covers earlier that day. Despite this, and no doubt feeling tired and wanting to finish their shift, all the staff were most attentive and very friendly. The Sunday roast was still tender and fresh come the evening, and the only problem with the crispy chilli beef with Asian slaw is that I didn't want to stop eating it. It was delicious! The bedroom was warm, spacious, and clean room, and a good night's sleep was had. The breakfast menu was of the same high standard. Would certainly recommend.

We ate dinner here as we were staying at the CAMC site nearby. Service was great. We both had the £20 two course set menu. Food was delicious. Well cooked & tasty. Service was prompt and pleasant. Left full and happy. Would definitely come here again for a meal

We held my late Mum's Celebration of Life at the BA. We took over the restaurant and 70 people attended for the get-together and light buffet. We couldn't fault anything and the staff were a delight. During the same weekend, we also enjoyed Sunday lunch for 11 of the party who had stayed over - again, the food was fabulous and the staff attentive and helpful.

Just had dinner in The Bath Arms, the steak and mushroom pie is to die for, homemade and filled with chunks of steak and plentiful mushrooms, surrounded by a gorgeous pastry shell. Sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream ice cream...delicious. We are staying at local motorhome site nearby, and we will be visiting again and 100% will be eating here again. Staff are lovely and the pub itself was warm and inviting. My wife is wheelchair user and the pub is fully accessible with disabled facilities with easy access.

We highly recommend the food and atmosphere . As a family of 9 on table 26 (Sat 20th) we had 26 servings over 3 courses altogether from the festive menu . The food was absolutely amazing, it was a very high standard , presentation, and amount . Thank you to the very helpful and friendly staff .

While the venue, staff, sandwiches and chips were 5 star as usual, the side salad left a lot to be desired, not a patch on how it used to be

My self and my partner came in for lunch 1/12/24 general impressions were good. I ordered the fish and chips after 20 minutes or so of waiting the food came I was so disappointed both the chips and fish just tasted like old cooking oil And for the 17 pound unpaid for it again leaves me with a very bad taste in my mouth. As to which I have felt sick all afternoon. I will say though my partner had the roast pork and said it was absolutely gorgeous and I will say it looked very very nice. 2/10 for me shame.

We could not fault The Bath Arms for our evening meal. Good menu with great choice. Food arrived, hot, tasty and plenty of it. We had the baked Camembert to share to start. I had the steak n mushroom pie which was fantastic, my wife had the belly pork. Both fabulous and filling too. The service couldn’t be faulted, we came away full and happy, strongly recommend

Found the Bath Arms by chance after being in the area for a few days recently. Absolutely excellent Sunday lunch. Both the pork and the chicken roast dinners were delicious. Service was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly. First restaurant we have been to in a while that didn’t automatically assume a tip on the card payment machine. How refreshing but of course we left a tip. Would definitely visit again if in the area and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We meet up with family for Sunday lunch every 4 to 6 weeks, on this occasion The Bath Arms was selected as the venue. Booked online which was easy, had plenty of reminders. There is a big car park at the rear, we had a table in the restaurant which was really pleasant with table service. In the bar I think you have to order everything including food with the bar staff. All of the staff were really efficient , welcoming and friendly. It was very busy , so is clearly popular. There is a Sunday menu , interestingly enough there are no starters, but given the size of the Sunday Roast portion this was not a problem. Plenty of vegetables and additional gravy was no problem, we had roast chicken and roast pork, the requested gluten free burger was mixed up , I think by the kitchen not the server , but this was quickly rectified. Good wine options at not too bad prices for a change, and deliciously decadent desserts finished the meal. Great atmosphere , loved surroundings and excellent food. Good value too. We will be back!

Excellent food and lovely building! We came here as part of a trip to Cheddar for my partners 40th, glad I trusted the reviews and chose The Bath Arms. I had the mushroom and celeriac strudel which was delicious and different from the usual veggie options you see elsewhere. My partner had the steak pie, which he said was very good and filled up with meat. The chips he had also looked incredible! All in all, a very nice birthday meal!

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was a lovely pub….food was gorgeous….breakfast amazing! Stayed in the little Robin room, it was cosy and comfortable, little touches like jelly babies, nuts and water in the room alongside your tea and coffee with biscuits was lovely ☺️ the toiletries in the bathroom were a little touch of luxury too. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, we will definitely be back! The location to the Gorge was perfect.

Lovely food..shame about the awful customer service. We were asked for ID for my 20 year old son. He had forgotten it so he had a coke. At our table he picked up my cider and we were barked at by a very rude member of staff who shouted " if he does that again all alcohol will be removed from the table". She didn't say this quietly, it was shouted for everyone else to hear. This could have been handled quietly but she decided to shout at me in front of other diners. If we hadn't already paid for our food we would have left. Will not be returning and would not recommend unless you like being shouted at.

We turned up 40 minutes early and we were seated, friendly service. Sunday roast was lovely! Visited several times before.

Unfortunately we did not stay here, but we visited a couple of times whilst we were in cheddar, can not fault the staff, they were always smiling and extremely polite, creating a wonderful atmosphere, the real ales were absolutely first class, crisp and a delightfully refreshing. Would highly recommend this establishment. Extremely busy pub/restaurant would definitely recommend booking.

Every dish was cooked perfectly, with hot food piping hot. Superb. Friendly staff. Nice takes on classic dishes. It's clear they take pride in what they provide.

Very nice small local hotel. Excellent rooms great management and, and the staff just the best. Kiri was especially awesome, above and beyond amazing. Nice amenities, very good bathrooms. Restaurant did a great job with a Sunday lunch on a day where they were extremely busy and snuck us in. Breakfast options were a rare treat. Nice bar good parking. A secure wi-fi but it was a bit slow.

Popped in here for a drink, but ended up staying for lunch. It was amazing! Beer battered fish finger sandwich on very chunky soft bread was lovely and the beef and horseradish ciabatta also lovely. I would recommend

We stayed for two nights in this great hotel in Cheddar. Good size room, comfy beds, delicious generous breakfast and friendly, efficient staff. We ate here both nights as well and menu offered great choice and was delicious. Highly recommend !

Food OK, but avoid the hock, more salt in it than the Dead Sea.

Wonderful Restaurant had the most amazing food over 2 successive nights we had planned on trying other places but felt we didn't need to find anywhere else... it was that good. Staff friendly and speedy service will definitely go again when we are next down.

Lovely big room and comfy beds. We were disappointed with our cheese and pickle sandwiches and we couldn’t get the shower to come hot. Staff were lovely.

We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Cheddar gorge. A ten minute walk and you're at the bottom of the road. The hotel is in the middle of the town on a fairly busy road but a huge car park at the rear is really useful. The hotel has lots of outdoor seating, both front and rear. Inside is also spacious with a good sized bar area and a sizeable dining room. Tha staff could not have been more helpful if they tried. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our evening meal was much appreciated after a day exploring the gorge. Tasty and filling, no room for dessert. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order, no dried up buffet fare. Our room was very nice with a big comfy bed and a spacious bathroom. All very clean. Tea, coffee, water and nibbles in the room came in useful. Only negatives were the price of drinks at the bar, glad I'm not a big drinker and some road noise in the morning. Minor issues in what was a very enjoyable experience.

Had Sunday lunch at this venue, food was fine but after just finishing our food, we were asked to vacate our table as there were other people waiting. We had been exactly an hour whereas it should have been booked for 1 and 1/2 hours. I felt this was extremely rude and we should have been allowed the full booked time. There were many diners that were there before us and remained after we were asked to leave. Extremely disappointed! My recommendation Avoid.

Large imposing frontage leads into a light and airy bar. 4 Cheddar ales on offer, well kept, and a good selection of lunch & dinners on the menu. Dog friendly with some large chairs and sofas to lounge in. Well worth leaving the gorge to find this pub in the village.

I called very last minute to book a table and they kindly let us come. We had driven past this place so many times on our weeks stay, we had to try it! The food was amazing! 10/10 had the boa buns, soup, fish finger sandwich and the steak at our table and it was so so good! Couldn’t recommend enough! Parking out the back and dog friendly! Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

We stayed for a night, and the staff were nice and helpful, we had a superior room with a huge bath and a separate shower. The room itself was huge.

Sunday lunch 😋 excellent 👌 manager couldn't do enough for us he was lovely and asked us several times if everything was OK. Stuffing was missing from my plate, and he fetched me some straight away plus a bit extra 😉 Book in advance as tables fill up fast and most already reserved. Highly recommend 👌

We have rediscovered this place after an absence of several years. We have enjoyed coffee here. It has a great lunch menu and we have eaten here several times as a couple and with friends. We checked out this place for disabled-friendly access as we have a friend who is in a wheelchair; it’s now become one of his favourite places to eat. It has flat access from the car park, and good entrance and a proper disabled toilet. I’d highly recommend lunch here – it is in the centre of Cheddar the location is hard to beat.

Location in Cheddar so close to The Gorge is great. Busy road but lots to see while waiting for food to arrive as we sat outside with our dog. Dog friendly inside too. Service was good and staff welcoming. Food was a mixed bag. Hubby very much enjoyed his tofu noodle dish. I had sweet potato and onion bhaji burger which tasted quite salty and although flavour was a little bit different than the norm, it just didn’t hit the spot for me. Fries seemed just standard and disappointing to be honest, as was the coleslaw. For these prices I expected a little more…fresh, carrot coleslaw and skin on chips would’ve elevated it.
