Not sure where the previous reviewer went but not the same pub. No dog wee smells. Took our own dog investigated very gently by the pubs dogs (not a Doberman in sight but why should that be an issue,) who then walked away. Food and service excellent and very welcoming. Please don’t be put off by the hard working fellas who sit outside to enjoy a drink on the way home from work, they are harmless. Lovely old fashioned English pub, wish there were more. So sad to see so many closing their doors. Would definitely visit again. Well done Sedgemoor Inn.

Popped in for Sunday lunch today the 21st July after being at a VW meet up the road . I am the fussiest person for food being hot And I couldn’t fault the food I had the roast turkey and hubby had beef it came out pipping hot with steam coming off the plate the portion was good with 4 slices of meat and not at a rip off price shame we are so far away it would be a regular place for us to eat thank you to the staff

Stopped in here for lunch to break up a long road trip, a little further from the main road than expected but worth it for the scenery along the way and especially for the lovely warm welcome when we got there. The place has a proper old-fashioned pub feel with lots of dark old wood and low ceilings. The host was friendly and welcoming, getting us settled in with a delicious pint of cider, and the food we ordered, from a menu featuring all the reliable favourites, was just right, nothing too fancy but good hearty tasty stuff. Would love to live near a charming proper local like this.

We took our family for a Sunday roast 1st May 2022. Booked the table and arrived at 1pm. The pub was very quiet which I felt was odd. The staff were obviously more interested in the puppy they allowed to run around in the dining area. The room was freezing . The table was sticky and dirty. We all ordered roasts of various meats but they got 3 of the six wrong. The veg were clearly cooked and left to stand as they were so soft and tasteless. The Yorkshire pudding was cold. At this point the puppy had to be removed from under our table but did return to urinate on the carpet beside us. The staff never asked if everything was OK. Even when they eventually acknowledged us asking for the bill. A terrible meal that will stop us ever returning. A sad state of affairs. The staff or owner needs to take a look in the mirror and decide if he or she is trying to run or indeed shut a village pub.

Stayed in the premier inn for work for a few weeks and so was using the restaurant next door as part of the deal with the hotel for breakfast and dinner. After numerous problems with the evening meals going thru the system the manager nikki took it upon herself to deal with it rather than the constant embarrassment of the system saying the meal allowance was declined.. every night from there in we were seated and served without problem or hesitation and Nikki personally saw to our tables orders and made sure all went without any further problems. All the staff were very helpful and friendly thru out our stay which is set to continue for some time yet with our work commitments. Having driven quite a way to visit the battlefield of Sedgemoor (1685), we were delighted to find that this fascinating and historic pub had just started to open on Mondays again. It is situated almost next door to the church, which now houses an excellent Visitor Centre and which played an important part in the battle, and is very welcoming. We only had time for a refreshing beer before setting off on the tour. However, we popped back in for a cup of tea before heading back for home. The landlord was most kind, welcoming and informative - the pub resembles a museum in its own right! We look forward to our next visit.

But the landlady assured us they were not open till two o clock. Hovering for the invitation to wait the ten minutes in the warm we gave up and went off to see the church. (Very fine. Four stars at least.) When we came back after 2 and again at 2.30 the door was locked. Not at all open. Happily a taxi swung by and took us to the much more welcoming Fountain in Bridgwater. Lucky really, we could still be shivering outside the Sedgemoor Inn.

Excellent service, great selection of drinks and fantastic food. I’ve been here twice this week, as a long distance HGV driver I was staying a couple of miles outside of town. On both occasions I was very impressed by the food, Gammon on one day and homemade hunters chicken on another, It’s very good quality ‘real’ food and superb value for money. The locals are a very welcoming and friendly bunch and the staff were fantastic and on my second visit the owner even gave me a lift back to my truck at the end of the night!!! I’d give it 6 stars if I could. I’ll definitely be first in the queue if any more jobs come up down this neck of the woods. If this was my local I’d be in every week. Also it would be an ideal stop off to go and look round the medieval church next door, it has a historical exhibition inside that looks well worth a look.

Avoid at all costs. Been here a few times before & was excellent. Obviously has new tennants who havent got a clue how to run a pub. Friday night was fish night and yet they only had white fish, which was grey and mushy & had a thick soggy batter. Was told it was cod, probably minnow given the size of the fish in the batter.Chips were soggy and were rubbery. This pub was dark, cold and empty on a friday night ,this should have rung alarm bells. Needless to say declined to pay the bill.,

A Disappointing Experience at The Admiral’s Landing Our visit to The Admiral’s Landing was, unfortunately, a huge letdown. The place was a complete shambles from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere felt neglected and rundown, as if no one had taken the time to clean or care for the space in ages. The bathrooms were the worst part of the experience, resembling something straight out of Steptoe and Son’s yard. They were dirty, unpleasant, and frankly, quite off-putting. It’s shocking that a business would allow facilities to get to that level—it made the whole visit feel uncomfortable. Adding to the disappointment was the carvery. The whole setup felt chaotic, and the person serving (who seemed to have no interest in hygiene or presentation) left us cringing. Watching what looked like “Stig of the Dump” sloppily serve food was not what we’d hoped for in a meal out. It was far from appetizing and truly lacked the quality or care you’d expect. If you’re looking for a clean, welcoming pub experience with decent food, I’d recommend giving The Admiral’s Landing a miss. The place has potential, but it desperately needs serious attention and care before I’d consider going back.

Popped in on Sunday for a light lunch but they were only serving Sunday roast. We didn't want a huge meal as we were going out for dinner that evening with family. We asked the server if we could just order the kids carvery, she said if you want a kids meal go to McDonald's! We just ordered drinks and didn't order a meal and have never gone back since. Such a shame that she doesnt realise that customer's pay her wages and it doesn't matter what they order. Go to the Packhorse Inn. They have fantastic food and friendly staff.
