Four different meals, all great and freshly cooked. Amazing chips, great service and lovely ambience.

A good roast lunch, Eton mess let it down as synthetic cream let it down. Coffee needs an improvement, probably from a packet

We had an excellent meal with good service. Their chips are so good! Very fresh and crisp. It was slightly noisy because they had a live band playing outside but it wasn't a problem.

A Medical disability was discriminated against, We went on Saturday evening as a party of ten and 2 dogs for a celebration treat , my wife and friend poured out some water into our dog bowls for the dogs and was told in no uncertain terms that the dogs could not have water or any food or treats in the pub but had to go outside it then got worse as we were ordering food my wife asked if they do a child's menu as she as had recently had gastric sleeve and was unable to eat a large meal, the waitress said no that adults had to have an adult meal when I explained that she is medically unable to eat adult sized meals she stormed off only to return with the owner who said that he was not going to break his hard and fast rule that adults had to have only adult meals and could not have childrens meals but if we wanted to what she didn't eat they would put it in a takeaway box for her and with that he walked off, I'm glad that he can afford to turn away custom because we won't be going there again, since my wife's operation we have found that most pubs will serve her a childs portion this one was the first in 2 years, she has a medical disability and was discriminate against

Not enough bar staff. But the staff were very pleasant

So a group of friends and myself came here for a Sunday roast dinner which was lovely although my beef was rather salty, a bit of a mix up happened but was quickly delt with when the desert came out for one of my friends it was supposed to be hot but instead was cold and had to be reheated other than that it is a great place for family gatherings or just a meal out, very reasonably priced with a good atmosphere

We stopped off for a quick bite to eat on the way back from kayaking It is a lovely pub - I did think the food was a little pricey with ham egg and chips being 15.95 and pate starter 8.95! So we had lite bites - I was disappointed that the onion rings and garlic bread were not home made - at the prices charges I would have expected freshly made onion rings! However - the cheesey chips were some of the best we have had for quite some time with proper cheese instead of mozzarella So a definite plus in the chips!

Thank-you so much to Nick and his team for providing the venue for my mother's wake. Brilliant spread, friendly and co-operative staff.

Found this great place after being let down by our 1st choice ( pub closed down even thought their web page said open). The food here was of exceptional quality and was freshly cooked and well worth every penny. Staff very friendly and weloming the place is very dog friendly ( my friends dog got spolit with treats and love ). The owner minges with his guests and will give you a brief story on the pub . Would use again Many thanks for a great time and good food

Really nice new manager soon to be the owner, has turned the pub around in the last few years. We had a lovely meal, great chat with the new owner. Staff friendly food was stunning.

It's a bit different from you chain type foodery. Takes a bit of getting used to but we loved it. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent.

The best pub Sunday roast I have ever had and I mean ever! Mainly eat in but the takeaway Sunday roast is amazing. Not a cheap meal but it is outstanding

Lovely food but i didn't find the staff very friendly! We weren't given a drinks menu or a dessert menu. It really felt like they didn't want our custom. Toilets were clean but not aesthetically pleasing as there were electrical wires coming out of the walls.

Amazing breakfast today at the Watchfield.. £10 for large breakfast and a tea was well worth it. We would definitely recommend visiting

Walked here from Wall Eden, dog friendly which was great. Nice outside area, bit we moved inside as it was quite chilly. Dogs welcomed and given a treat by staff. Drinks were nice, atmosphere was nice and quite, lovely pub.

We have not had the pleasure of experiencing the Watchfield's. Evening offering. Based purely on the toilet/loo facilities it is unlikely we will.

I had a lovely meal here with my daughter whilst staying nearby in Somerset. Would recommend the chicken, chorizo and mushroom tagliatelle, beautiful! It's dog friendly which is a plus also. It isn't a cheap option but nothing is in the current climate... Would recommend 😁

We had our engagement party at the watchfield Inn the food atmosphere and disco was amazing staff very helpful stayed there in campervan with electric hook up

Absolutely brilliant food! From the starts (whitebait, halloumi & mozzarella sticks) to the mains (burger, cheddar & ham ploughman's, scampi) the food was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming, orders taken at the table and delivered properly hot straight from the kitchen and clearly freshly cooked! Definitely worth a visit! Oh and lots of choice on the drinks at the bar as well :D

Went earlier for a meal with my mum, the food was amazing so was the service and all the staff were very nice:) bit loud but well it’s a good local pub so I definitely understand:) overall I will definitely come again! Thankyou so much:)

Pub does excellent food especially their Sunday roast, be warned there will be no room for pudding. I recommend the roast pork.

Well what can I say about the Watchfield Inn in Highbridge. We love the Sunday Roast and will be back. The food is top notch and the waiting staff were friendly and on point.

We had the set valentines menu. The food was outstanding. We had Chicken Kiev and the salmon fillet. Everything was cooked to perfection. The tables were set up with candles and red roses which made it a romantic atmosphere. Simona and Nick really looked after us we had a lovely evening. Highly recommend

To be honest, it's such a lovely pub, food is superb and staff are friendly and make time for you. There are so many different ornaments and pictures to see, plus if you like any, you can purchase them. There are differe2nt areas of the pub you can choose to be in which gives you enough space to socialise without being too crowded. Christmas decorations were spectacular and worth a view in general anyway.

We had a fantastic family reunion at the Watchfield Inn today. Twenty four of us. The food was fantastic. We had a huge side room to ourselves complete with Skittles and Pool tables. Staff were very accommodating, we couldn't have asked for more. Even the dogs felt at home we would definitely come again.

Really cosy country pub, log burner, etc. They have extra Christmas lights at the moment, and it really adds to the place, especially that beautiful tree. A good selection of beer, wine as you would expect and great food!

Disgusting landlord extremely rude and argumentative. Arguing with customers as Bill/ deposit was incorrect. Felt sorry for waiters as management treated them awfully Couldn't have felt move uncomfortable and couldn't wait to leave. If we hadn't already ordered our food we would of left sooner

Food is ok not the best and the customer services is terrible the people who run it are rude so do not go here and the beer is good

Had a birthday dinner here and wow! The food was beautiful. They had a lot of free table but definitely needs to be more full. Highly recommend the pasta. Large portions but you definitely get your moneys worth, ended up taking it home and eating it the next day. Well priced, they could have increased their prices and I would still pay it. Beautifully decorated for Christmas too

Very friendly staff, we attended a birthday party in the hall. A tad bit cold in there, but the rest of the pub was lovely and toasty due to the log burners.

Nice pub with lots of eating areas. Friendly welcome on arrival. Didn't have to go to the bar, drinks and food ordered at the table. Service was good and the food was very tasty, best sirloin steak i have had in a long time. Plenty of parking and a campsite at the back. Would be a great place to spend the weekend with a touring caravan or camper van.

We stopped for a Sunday roast, the meat and potatoes were excellent the veg wasn’t cooked at all we couldn’t eat any of the veg…. Mentioned to waiter who said it wasn’t the first time it had been mentioned!

I had my pre Birthday celebrations and had my 30th Birthday party here Saturday 4th November, and it was Absolutely fantastic! The staff was amazing! The room was incredible beautiful room!! And the food was amazing!! and the DJ kevin was incredible he was Absolutely Brilliant! Played amazing songs from all eras which i loved! and always let us request a song if we wanted one and played it he was so lovely and attentive and even went out his way put happy Birthday message for me on the TV and wished me happy birthday made us feel so welcome! Absolutely loved my birthday party couldnt wished for a better night would definitely recommend 1000000000000000000000000%%%

We were staying in Watchfield with our dog so walked to The Watchfield Inn for dinner. We both had sirloin steak, which came with chips, onion rings, tomato, garlic mushrooms and some salad. It was huge! My steak was well done and my husbands was medium, both cooked to perfection. I loved the pretty lighting inside and out. It transformed the pub, magical. Our dog was also welcomed inside.

What a wonderful place to stop and have something to eat. We thought it was closed when we pulled up but then we spotted a light on and the door was open. It was quiet when we were here but the food was to die for. Not much variety for the lunchtime menu but enough. The desserts looked and tasted fantastic, well done all

Lovely caravan site the grandchildren loved it there food was amazing service very good we stayed for one night before we traveled to Devon and stayed again on the way back. Will definitely book again next year, highly recommend.

Proper country pub, the roast looked great. We had a buffet which was lovely, the chicken tasted like chicken and the beef, cheese and pickle wraps were out of this world.

We went for Sunday Lunch and i would recommend. Friendly staff and great food.

Service was prompt and very professional. Bar area was quirky with alot of decorations that brought about a long discussion before dinner. Lasagne was very good with plenty of cheese topping that was definatefly a home cooked, tasty dish done in the oven. The burger was tasty (not fancy) which my partner enjoyed. The whitebait starter was very good, the calamari was OK (bit over crispy for our liking). The kids meals were big and enjoyed also (scampi and a nugget tried). The alcohol choice was very good with plenty of Somerset Thatchers varieties. The beer was also good. Would highly recommend for a meal. Cost of 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 kids meals and 4 alcoholic and 3 kids drinks was £72, so very reasonable. Thumbs up Watchfield Inn. Will try again when back this way on hols. Added extra for those interested.. A little campsite to back of garden (maybe 10-15 pitches). Not sure if they were serviced pitches but a great spot if you want to be by pub, plus had live music every Saturday night!

Great little village pub,serves really lovely food,great ales n beers,and lovely friendly people,and a great atmosphere,will definitely go there again,also has a beer garden,great for the family,also a little campsite,if you have a tourer caravan or motorhome.

Found this lovely pub, which serves proper pub food, it isn't the cheapest but is really good quality.

Yet again, another fab night at the watchfield. The food was lovely and there was no complaints from anyone! The service was great all round and such a lovely feel to the place. Can’t wait to come again! 100% recommend.

Just had the best Sunday lunch out, ever. Great find. Also had the lasagne in May which was also, the best we’ve ever had in a pub. Got a tourer permanently based near, so will definitely be going back. Keep up the good work.

Great find, we’ve got a tourer sited near & on Monday Bank holiday called for the first time. We both had the Lasagne & it was fab, again best we’ve had out! Will definitely be going back & making The Watchfield a regular. Keep up the good work.

I would not recommend this pub. Nick the owner is extremely rude and the prices are unreal! My mum ordered a small wine with a lemonade DASH. Charged £7.50 and then told that it would be an additional £3 on top for using a Monzo card “as it is not recognised” When this was questioned Nick then turned around and said “well if you don’t like it f**k off!” No way to speak to customers. Seriously lacking customer service and should not be running a pub if he’s unable to communicate properly with the public - especially not when he’s making up his own prices! Advised that a review would be wrote about this, to which he replied he would be taking “legal action” Wouldn’t recommend. Place as gone downhill

We had sunday lunch. Meat was so tender and lovely. Overall meal was great. Suggestion - put gravy seperate to meal as too much on plate and us very salty.

One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a pub. Plenty of it and all good quality. The beef was lean and tender. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Great pub, wonderful staff and the Saturday night karaoke is painful and amazing, highly recommend visiting. Also the food is great and a nice large carpark.

Very pleased with the meal good quality and plenty of it the Service was a bit poor I think it was because we were in a back room and they were very busy and just forgot about us . We would come again love the food and to give them second chance on service.

I went for the new open mic, what a lovely pub. Its got lots of style and seperate rooms and nooks.

Nice meal here, came to see George Michael tribute but had to leave function room as PA to loud for room size.

The place was freezing and when my steak was brought to the table it was actually gone off, the smell was horrible. The landlady did apologise and replaced the meal which I wasn't charged for but that night my partner was violently ill and thinks that the pate' she had eaten must have been off as well. As she has been a chef in some of the best pubs in the area I tend to believe her.

Walked in wanting drinks and some food. Service was so bad from the get go, we asked a short brown hair lady who was stood behind the bar where she would like us to sit and response was ‘a table would be good’ and handed us menu’s. We just left straight away and didn’t bother eating or drinking there

I have had a disgusting experience here today! The owner and the blonde lady are very rude and their behaviour is unacceptable! We were a table of 12, had to pre order our meals yesterday, yet we still had to wait over an hour for our meal. The blonde lady was miserable from the beginning and watching her with other customers, I expect there will be other disappointing reviews! When I approached the owner about my experience, including the one where I ordered something different than was served to me he became aggressive and told me to write a poor review on trip advisor. The poor young waiter had it from all angels. The tip was for him. All 12 of us will never return whilst the owner is in situ!

Booked lunch here for new years day . 1 staff amazing 2 landlord welcoming 3 venue truly beautiful and welcoming 4 and finally the food was outstanding it was hot fresh veg cooked to perfection and good portions and the meat quality was second to none . Having worked in this field myself I would highly recommend this place and will be returning no question.

We had are grandouters wedding reception hear it was amazing to start the food was amazing we had sit down and later a buffet fit for the king . We have eaten hear on a number of accations from something simple to something grand nic and his staff are so lovely helpful and friendly hard working . The pub is such a beautiful pub with history. Also stayed there many times with are motorhome as we will be for the new year where we are booked again for the new year's party and stay with are motorhome. So wether it's a short break or just a weekend I highly recommend The Watchfield Inn and don't forget to have one of nicks beautiful breakfast 😋 also a lovely stop over .
