Admirals Landing in Sedgemoor

Made very welcome. Food was very good and they had my favourite beer Otter on. Service was a little slow as they had a big party in. Big shout out to Kate who was brilliant.

I had a lovely meal at this lovely pub The Admirals Landing and all that work there from the bar staff to the chef and her staff in the kitchen make you feel very welcome

We had a lovely carvery here along with our dog. The roast was lovely and surprisingly the cauliflower cheese actually tasted of cheese. My only complaint was that as we came out for a little celebration and I fancied a cocktail to be told they don't do them in the afternoon was a disappointment, never had a problem when we've been anywhere else. As a consequence we only had one drink and left after we'd eaten.

Visited the Admirals Landing for a Valentines meal. We both thought the food was absolutely delicious and very well presented. My partner had a starter of scallops which were fresh from Brixham that day, followed by the pan fried lamb and I had the crab and crayfish ravioli followed by the cheese dessert. We haven’t enjoyed a meal out so much in a long time and will definitely be back soon. The menu was varied for all tastes including vegetarian. The staff were very attentive. To top it, the wine was lovely and the cost was very reasonable.

The Admirals Landing is a lovely place to sit and eat either by yourself and/or with friends. The staff are friendly, loyal and very helpful. Today I had one of their Sunday carveries of which they also do on a weds. I had a choice of 2 meats and plenty of veg and other hot choices of food on the carvery trolley. I also had a homemade cheesecake which tasted very nice. I will certainly use the Admirals Landing again with no worries. A big thank-you to all the staff.

Had party there on Saturday charged £12 head for food and was terrible expected alot more for price absolutely gutted for guests

Came here as a large booking for a birthday celebration. I couldn’t personally fault my food but a lot of other guests had a different experience. One person found plastic in their lasagne and when we asked to speak to the chef he refused to come out. Someone else found a hair, everyone’s steaks came out like leather and a couple people didn’t get their meals until they mentioned it to the waitress. Even though we had pre ordered all of our meals we were told on the night that a couple people couldn’t have theirs as they’d ran out.

Had a roast dinner and a piece of cheesecake delivered to my workplace.Looked great,tasted great and was hot, absolutely smashing thankyou

Awful meal today …. Ordered Scampi x 2 and when they arrived after half hour of waiting they were both meals not even cooked properly… cold and uncooked… sent it back and explained why and was responded with what do you want me to do… (with attitude) … They said do you want fresh new or what.. I replied May we have fresh pleased and cooked more as I do not want to be ill with uncooked food…Another 20 minutes later a new dish of scampi x 2 arrived … Burnt and unable to eat being as hard as bullets Totally disregard for manners and would never return to such inhospitable behaviour No need for bad manners especially when it was there fault

Popped in for a quick lunch with my wife and son, food excellent as always. Service was a little slow on a quite(ish) Friday, it took 45 minutes for two sandwiches and a salmon salad to arrive. Not really an issue, but would have been better to know up front if there was going to be a delay

Dry meat! Felt like we were being served End of day food! However they refunded my mother the difference of the cost seeing as she should have paid OAP not full price! Which was jolly decent of them

Is still a nice looking pub despite the need for refirbishment. Food quality is still hit and miss but prices have now risen above the competetion. Just glad my last meal there was worth while.

Food was very good, but needed heating a little

Rocked up at 5pm on Saturday. Place was not busy . Asked if they were doing food and they said yes and gave us menus and when we went to the bar to order some gobby lass behind the bar said they aren't doing food unless we booked in advance then turned her back and served someone else. Didn't even give us the chance to order a drink. So we walked out and went for a meal down the road (after a freezing cold walk with our 4 month old child) Definitely won't be trying here again.

Booked a meal here to take my granddaughter for a Sunday carvery as a birthday treat! Had a lovely carvery and desserts very good food good service and friendly we would definitely be back would recommend!

Went here the other day after a family funeral. Lovely welcome, great spread of food and perfect venue.

Had the T-bone steak was really nice to be fair, shame about a certain barmaid (brunette) with a stinking attitude.

Shocking is all I can say… not a single colour in sight, the carvery was probably one of the worst I’ve ever experienced and not a flavour to be tasted…. I just don’t understand how a kitchen can produce such a tasteless carvery???? And they charged £15.95…. I’m still in shock!!!!!

My go to place for a carvery or a steak around Bridgewater. 1st class can't fault it. Plus a good vegetarian menu if you're not a meat eater.

A Disappointing Experience at The Admiral’s Landing Our visit to The Admiral’s Landing was, unfortunately, a huge letdown. The place was a complete shambles from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere felt neglected and rundown, as if no one had taken the time to clean or care for the space in ages. The bathrooms were the worst part of the experience, resembling something straight out of Steptoe and Son’s yard. They were dirty, unpleasant, and frankly, quite off-putting. It’s shocking that a business would allow facilities to get to that level—it made the whole visit feel uncomfortable. Adding to the disappointment was the carvery. The whole setup felt chaotic, and the person serving (who seemed to have no interest in hygiene or presentation) left us cringing. Watching what looked like “Stig of the Dump” sloppily serve food was not what we’d hoped for in a meal out. It was far from appetizing and truly lacked the quality or care you’d expect. If you’re looking for a clean, welcoming pub experience with decent food, I’d recommend giving The Admiral’s Landing a miss. The place has potential, but it desperately needs serious attention and care before I’d consider going back.

Go here once a year due to me living in wales. A lovely friendly pub staff are brilliant carvery is to die for.

Ordered fish yesterday waited ages I was just about to complain or leave even though I obviously paid The food is good but the waiting time is terrible I will be going there again for drink but will NOT be ordering food !

Average pub in an average location.. Good for drinks or a quick bite to eat, nothing amazing though.

Iv been coming to admirals for years the food is great the carvery is also very good to eat in the pub/restaurant and delivery at home when we can’t be bothered to go out, I’m writing my review for two reasons one as already mentioned the food and service is nice Two I’m seeing a trend with complaints to bar staff! and as my local and as a fly on the wall so to speak I see the way diners of the mature variety speak to the bar staff and I’m regularly rolling my eyes back into my head, the system in the pub is easy if your in the dining room it’s table service, the bar isn’t and the way some people speak to the bar staff about not having their order taken yet. Or query’s about the food talking to the bar staff disrespectfully isn’t going to be received very well. I’m getting really annoyed with people coming onto here And writing a negative review after being in and talking to the staff like absolute dirt! As I said mostly it’s the mature variety that seem to think they don’t have to say please and thank you and be rude to staff it’s disrespectful

The Sunday dinner in this bar is fantastic food through the week is decent but wot let's it down for me is French fries. Frozen chips with the meals proper chips would be class personal preference other than that all good nice pint as well 😁

I feel sorry for the cheff. The food is superb, but is let down by some of the staff. It almost comes across that the restaurant part of the pub is insignificant. Would I go back, NO

My friend and I went for dinner after visiting the 'fallen moon' installation in Bridgwater docks. The bar was very busy but we sat in the dining area where half the tables were empty, after ordering our meals and drinks at the bar. We were told that there would be 45 minute wait for food. We had ordered our meals together so that they would come out at the same time. My friends omelette and chips arrived first and the chips were cold. After waiting another 5 minutes and enquiring what had happened to my lasagne and garlic bread, from a man who was rushing outside with bread rolls for food being served outside, he said he would find out. We also told him about the cold chips. My lasagne arrived quickly after this and he brought out a fresh bowl of chips for my friend. However my lasagne was so hot and it looked like it had been incinerated. It was burnt underneath and all around the edges. I ate what I could but left about half. When I complained about it to a passing waitress her words were, (no apology made) " what do you want me to do about it". She then went out to talk to the 'chef' and came back 5 minutes later and said that nothing could be done. Still no apology. I would not recommend this place to anyone both the food and the behaviour of the staff were disgusting and spoilt what had been an enjoyable evening

We visited Tuesday 15th of October. Booked as we suspected that it would be busy due to the moon landing!! We know it's a good place to eat, as we live five minutes away. The waitress who was in our area laying the tables, was amazing. All through out our meal she was interacting, joking and was just very warm and friendly. She was tall, glasses with brown hair. Didn't catch her name but I'm sure we'll see her again. The food was impeccable. My little one especially loved the cheesy garlic bread. Proper pub food and IMO one of the best burgers I've had. We went to pay our £70+ tab and I was stood with my father. The bar wasn't overly busy, I've seen it far busier. Three ladies stood behind the bar. A blonde woman came to serve us to which we said our table number. She walked off, practically threw the card machine at my dad, he tapped his card and she stormed off. We went to walk away, assuming she was busy. Then she came back saying "you have to insert it", but mumbled so we said pardon? She repeated herself, my dad inserted his card and went to take the machine to enter his pin. She snatched it right back, obviously entering the amount to pay and threw it back to dad to enter his pin. Now being of an older generation he didn't have his glasses and struggled to see the numbers with the distance she was holding the machine. So entered the pin carefully, whilst she was looking away and huffed. As soon as dad had let go of the machine, she stormed off without any further interaction and carried on behind the bar. Now my dad and I wanted to tip our waitress and also wanted a receipt due to accounting reasons, however we didn't get the opportunity to. Everything else was perfect here, bar the final interaction, which is usually the lasting. Hence why I'm reviewing. If she doesn't like her job, due to pressure she can't obviously handle then maybe it's time to look for a new one. And whilst it may not be easy to leave personal things at the door, which may have effected her mood, it wasn't our fault. We'll still come back, but just don't think the way this two minute interaction should have been dealt with.

Excellent value/delicious food (had a Wednesday carvery) and friendly staff. This was my 1st visit but will definitely go again. Well done, and keep up the good work.

Every single time I order online they cancel. Why reject my order but stay accepting them on just eat? Tried giving the benefit of the doubt, but it’s every single time I place an order. I don’t want to sit in a restaurant when I’m on crutches.

My first order was for my son who had chicken nuggets, mash and beans. The dirtiest brown nuggets arrived with a clumpy mash and beans, this was dry, the mash rubbery and warm at best batting the overcooked dirty fat nuggets. We then had a family meal and much the same, chips were terrible quality and Luke warm, I had a steak that had clearly been sat for a while, partners lasagne thick with oil and baked to the ceramic, the rest of the families was like warm and not overly special either. Unfortunately the prices didn’t reflect what I would expect, I’d actually expect more for a Wetherspoons at half the price. Very poor, wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Admirals landing is a decent place to go for a beer or two and on a Sunday for a carvery... in the summer and better weather it's a nice place to sit outside near the water and chill with family and friends

I go here once a several times a month for gaming club. I have yet to have a bad we experience at this venue. Staff are lovely and food is excellent and well priced. Hoping they keep the boats on the dock as it is lovely there.

Lovely pub,right next to the Docks.clean and tidy,good food,pleasant staff,and more importantly these days,very reasonable prices.

The girl who served us could have been polite more like she didn't want to be there. Rude girl and definitely no please or thank yous.

Went to pub at noon, ordered food , had to give table number , this wasnt explained , until eventually got attended to .i ordered cottage pie, any way enough said , locals here seem to think its bees knees! Only my opinion pathetic really , north east lad

Went In on a Saturday afternoon, there were a few people there, service was OK staff friendly and welcoming, but it lacked any atmosphere, don't know why, very large pub right on the docks, menu looked OK but can't comment on the food as I didn't eat there

Call for lunch discovered carvery one of the best myself and my friend said we have had Would recommend to anyone it's first class.

June 20th,21st or 22nd afternoon/evening, 2024 I normally always like coming here when visiting Bridgwater. I always enjoy the music here and normally always have a really nice time. ...however last time I was here the barmaid (long darkish hair) was incredibly rude. In fact I was shocked by her attitude she had. Pouring up the cider with spillage all over glass so I asked if she could please wipe it down to avoid stickiness at the table,in which she looked at me with contempt and just completely walked away in negligence with some hand gesture. Most rude and unprofessional barmaid I have ever encountered. The manager or owner should really see how employees are conducting themselves towards customers. We just wanted a drink , enjoy the music and chat. Us, who are always polite towards barstaff everywhere we go ,globally. ...soo we finished our drinks and left. I really do hope to edit my review.

Went for Sunday carvery, did not disappoint, amazing food

I hadn't been to the Admiral's for years so my friends and I decided to pop in and have a few drinks.The first member of barstaff was fine unfortunately she left and was replaced by the most sullen young lady I have ever met. She was unfriendly,unprofessional and in my opinion should think about a change of job. No please or thankyou just a grunt what do ya want She left the beer on a drip tray in front of where she poured the drinks rather than bring them to me where I had a drip tray in front of me. When she came to collect payment I asked her to bring the drinks to me, she grunted her annoyance and plonked the drinks done. I noticed when two friends of hers came in she was all smiles but served other punters with the same sullen attitude. A regular informed me that was her usual behaviour. We therefore decided to drink up and leave. We went to the Fountain Inn and was greeted with a smile and the beer was a £1 cheaper.

I haven't been to the admirals for years so as we had some sunshine,we thought we'd pop in. Large party for a 50th birthday. All meals preordered ... table ready on arrival all meals served promptly. The food was great value well presented good portion size and most importantly every meal was correct and HOT. Highly recommend a huge thank you to all the staff 🙂

Great if you like your food brought out still frozen and very rude staff 👍🏽 worse meal I have ever been served. Table of 7 x2 pies frozen solid.

Terrible service fumeing orderdd a roast and a lagsna, but instead of them ringing to let me know they need to cancel the roast and did i still want the Lagsna they just sent the Lagsna , now I have to order some where else and we will ear seperatly will get my roasts now from Go Dine!!!!

A good friendly pub with plenty of atmosphere. Very spacious inside and loads of seating. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Standard menu was adequate and there was a specials board as well. Vegans and vegetarians are also catered for.

Carvery delivery. Absolutely beautiful. Large portions, nice and hot. Definitely order again

Excellent service from very polite friendly staff who managed to keep a smile on their faces while under extreme pressure. We had starters the carvery and desserts. All were of excellent choices and standard. We will definately be returning and recommending to family and friends.

My partner and myself with our dog went to admiral's landing Wednesday 24th April for a meal. The man behind the bar was very polite and helpful, I ordered a surf and turf my partner ordered a ploughman's. When the ladies came out with our food it looked beautiful well presented, my steak was cooked to perfection tasted lovely, I have never seen such a lovely ploughman's it had everything you could think of fantastic, All the staff were happy and very professional. Thank you for making our night so pleasant. Well done Admiral's landing.

The carvery was just warm not very nice at all . I've been before at its been lovely. Me and my 4 friends went because it was my friends birthday.

Had the midweek carvery, it looked great and was plentiful but was mediocre and cold. Barmaid was a little abrupt and put her hands/fingers inside the cups before making a drink, this put me off a bit. Overall was an OK experience, I would go again but would order from the menu, and avoid the carvery.

The staff and food are AMAZING. The portions caught us both off-guard on our first date-night here a fortnight ago. A beautifully warm welcome with engaging and attentive staff all evening. The menu is varied and very well priced, with portion size surprisingly generous - we had to ask for a take-home tub for some of it! Spend an evening here and come away full... And smiling =)

Came for the Wednesday carvery, and noticed there was a special OAP price. At 75 I qualify so I ordered it, thinking it is nice that some people recognize that things can be difficult on a pension. Not a bit of it! I was given a child's plate, a pathetic couple of bits of meat and was forced to limit the accompanying vegetables by the ridiculously small plate. I even had to miss out on the apple sauce because there was no room on the plate. The server admitted the OAP label was governed by plate size, not age. What a con! I was given a child's portion. Completely disappointed by my experience and still hungry!

I haven't been for years! Very nice pub, Atlantic pale ale on tap, £4a pint! Brilliant. Food really nice, and lots of choice.

We live 2 minutes drive away from Admirals Landing and have ordered many times before but tonight was appalling. The food was stone cold. The pasta dishes were so small and tasteless paying nearly £12 each for them seemed like some sort of crime. The pasta dishes were tasteless and definitely not of the standard we have previously received. The cost of the food is no way representative of the size of portions or the quality, overpriced and very poor.

Lovely Sunday roast , friendly, efficient staff, and good value. It was really busy. Worth a visit. However It was extremely warm around the carvery seated area. So we had to keep popping outside. Overall excellent

What more can I say, the food here is absolutely stunning. I came here with 3 mates for food and 2 of us pre-ordered Tomahawk Steaks. They were absolutely amazing, cooked perfectly and served with chunky chips, Onion rings, mushroom and peas. The service was also fantastic and the evening was also fantastic with the staff being superb and helpful all evening!! I cannot recommend this place anymore than I already do!!!

Always enjoy coming here for a carvery. Always great food and great service. This is a place where booking in advance is advised.

Disgusting service young girl, long hair, tied back glasses, ignorant as they come, no manners, no please or thank you! We had come to try the carvery, bought a drink and left! Never again, never felt so unwelcome, will be going elsewhere if that's what you have serving behind the bar! No thanks!

Food is lovely. Staff, not so friendly. My partner had the chicken and halloumi burger. Chicken was tough and you could not cut it or bite it. When the waitress came to clear our plates (who I might add, their top was absolutely filthy) we mentioned the chicken and she said because we were table checked and we said everything was fine (they table checked us within 3 minutes of receiving our food and my partner had not even tried his burger yet!) they couldn’t do anything about it. When we told her the situation, she became hostile and we didn’t feel welcome anymore. We paid and left. The only thing that was not eaten was the chicken, but all the rest of the food was lovely and faultless. Just the staff need more training in customer service!

Great food choices polite friendly staff and the venue is divided into smaller areas making it suitable for all occasions.

First time visiting Admirals Landing for lunch with friends. Pleasant surroundings, quite busy and clean toilets. We all had the carvery and were surprised at the way the meat was served by lady with gloves on, carving meat and placing it on plates with hands! Even pressing it down! To be honest it did put us off. Whatever has happened to fork or tongs? Eton mess and bread & butter pud was much enjoyed.

Friendly staff. Good banter on arrival at the bar. Sunday was carvery only , good selection of vegetables, shame there was no crackling but the pork was very tasty and plenty of it!!

Edited my review after a second visit. Food was no where near as good as our first visit and the customer service from the bar lady was appalling. Totally put off and probably won't ever visit again.
