Avoid at all costs. Been here a few times before & was excellent. Obviously has new tennants who havent got a clue how to run a pub. Friday night was fish night and yet they only had white fish, which was grey and mushy & had a thick soggy batter. Was told it was cod, probably minnow given the size of the fish in the batter.Chips were soggy and were rubbery. This pub was dark, cold and empty on a friday night ,this should have rung alarm bells. Needless to say declined to pay the bill.,

The area where I sat smelt strongly of stale cigarette smoke!! The meal although more than ample was made from cheap sausage... I had bangers and mash. The waitress then tried to charge me double what I owed.... inadvertently.......!!!

Called in for the 1s t time. As we always pass the King William Inn when it's closed. But wow yesterday we court it open only 10 minutes before closing. The Land Lady was lovely , and the young lady. They were lovely gave us some information. Inside the pub was amazing. 2 lovely fireplaces. It was very spacious inside. We have been passing this pub for over 25 years. But we will next time we will definitely ring and book a table. I highly recommend anyone to try The King William Inn. Look forward to going In November. Thank you Land Lady and young lady. Our walking group ended up at the King William Inne for Sunday lunch. Due to a shortage of staff, just Roast Beef or Turkey on offer. Excellent quality. Tasty tender meat with a large selection of vegetables. Catered for a dairy intolerant member too. Pleasant, friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure the best experience for their guests. Would definitely return.

Only popped in to peruse the lunch time menu for a possible future visit and have a quick half - very unhelpful and basically rude young lady behind the bar. When I enquired about a menu I was told "It's up there" with a finger gesturing to a small chalk board at the end of the bar. The beer was quite good, for a Palmers (Gold), but I don't know what the food is like and won't be finding out anytime soon! When will people realise that initial interaction with a customer can make or break the attractiveness of a venue.

What a gem! The King William Inne is a fantastic home from home esc pub that makes you feel like one of the family. Everyone that works here is super friendly and is always up for a good laugh and a chat. This pub feels like a true English experience, you go in and ypu don't feel pressured to eat but if you do, prepare for an amazing fish and chips on a Friday! I could not recommend this wonderful place enough, it's my favourite pub in the country.

We popped in to this pub on the off chance of Sunday lunch. Despite being extremely busy as it was father's Day, they were able to fit us in. I'm so glad they did. This was absolutely the very best Sunday lunch I have eaten out. Beautiful meat, creamy mash, crispy roasties, cauliflower cheese, gorgeous red cabbage and other veg cooked perfectly. Can't comment on the Yorkshire as I asked not to have one, but they looked home made and massive. We also nabbed the last piece of cheesecake between us, scrummy. Will most certainly book next time we're in the area as I wouldn't want to miss out. Also lovely pub, cosy, traditional and very friendly staff. Dog and child friendly.

We have just arrived home after having a most enjoyable Sunday Roast at the The King William inne. It was our first time, having not been there before. On our arrival we were greeted by a very nice man who showed us to our table, with excellent comfortable chairs. Our roast beef was excellent too, very tender and plenty of it, the Yorkshire puds were large and a nice lot of vegetables. The staff were so friendly, they made us feel at home. The only gripe if we had one, is that the food could have been a lot hotter. I still give it 5 ⭐️ and we will definitely be back

I used to come to this pub years ago as a 18year old (ish!) local... with friends and enjoy an ale or two...or 3 So it was good to be back some 38 years later.. The place has changed but lost none of its personal warmth. Wish it was my local still..... SO on arrival we were greated by the most FRIENDLY landlord. Who was keen to look after us - - settled us down with an ale for me and a very generous glass of wine for my mum. Menus showed some good balanced pub fayre - I ordered the Hunters chicken - mum orderd the fish and chips... with a choice of garden not musy peas. All was served in good time - was piping hot , beautifully presented. Served up by a lovely waitress who was attentive but not pushy. The resturant filled nice (a great sign) but was well distanced. Food was of an extremely high standard - too much to be honest but for hungry people you wont be disappointed. MUST compliment them on the chips... that may sound silly - but I think you can tell a good chef by not only their mains - but the sides.. This were "good honest chunky chips " and were crisp, fluffy inside. And very "oooh just one more". The fish was well battered and white .. no soggy bottoms and my Hunters chicken had a gorgeous taste with decent bacon (and that makes a difference...) We left - fully repleat and with smiles - it was worth the money and a generous tip for a job well done.. Compliments to chef, staff and a special mention a lovely host & landlord who does keep a very good ale - served to perfection and very quaffable (pity I had to drive home so only the one!) Congratulations on a lovely evening. On a final note... dont forget to check out the walk over well !!!!

Stopped here for a bite to eat and some drinks after a long walk through the countryside. The welcome we received was very friendly. We are on holiday in Somerset and the staff here were very helpful with places to get cider and other areas to visit. The cider on tap of Dorset Orchards Gold was delicious. The food we had was so good that we booked for Sunday lunch the next day. When they heard how much of a walk we had and having to walk along a busy road with children they even offered to give us a lift back to our lodge. I would definitely recommend this lovely village pub! Edit. Just got back from a lovely Sunday lunch. The roast pork was delicious. The red cabbage tasted like it had cinnamon in it which was a lovely touch. Very tasty indeed. And all the staff were very friendly again.

Popped in for a midweek evening meal as we were holidaying locally and didn't fancy the self-catering option! Phoned up to book a table in advance which turned out to be unnecessary as the place was surprisingly quiet - not sure if it's down to ongoing Covid fears keeping people from socialising or perhaps a case of building up custom as the delightful hostess said that the owners were fairly new to the pub. Whatever the reason for the quietness, it didn't make a difference as we were after a cosy meal for two 😅. The pub itself is a nice mix of tradition and modernity with some eclectic lighting. The menu was relatively short but well balanced with a range of dishes including vegetarian and vegan options although we both opted for the Hunters Chicken which was very tasty, juicy chicken breast, nice thick bacon & tasty cheese with a nicely dressed side salad and chunky chips. Good food but what really made the evening for us was the service - we got chatting with the hostess who on hearing we were holidaying, spent some time giving us some very helpful tips on local places to visit

Good food as always, but…the menu doesn’t highlight vegetarian options accurately. I queried a pizza with rocket pesto (vegetarian hard cheese as opposed to parmesan) - the waitress had to check then returned confirming the presence of parmesan. I then commented that in that case it wasn’t vegetarian. There was also a starter with burrata that had a ‘v’ next to it but I have yet to find a vegetarian version of this cheese.

We ate here on 6 evenings. A family run business, friendly welcome, extensive menu, excellent food. Highly recommend.
