The food in the pub was not really great, they managed to burn the bread of the burger and i found hairs in the food, not really hygienic if i would say. And on top of that the bar staf was not really friendly. Do not recommend it

Classic Car Sunday was great. Packed with all different cars - great atmosphere. Was BBQ type food and an ice cream van! Great afternoon!

Food was awful, service was friendly with plenty of banter. Pub was empty! Come to your own conclusions!

Revisited April '25 - the coffee is still as good and the eggs on sourdough lived fully up to expectations. I can't tell you exactly what a Bakewell blondie comprises, but it takes Bakewell tart to the next level! Really exceptionally good espresso (I had two, just to make sure) and an amazingly chargrilled bacon sandwich on sourdough which I can still taste now. Fantastic

Great experience. Friendly staff - owner/operators gave it a personal touch, very comfortable rooms, good value for money and a delicious Wagyu burger on the specials menu. A bike shed to protect your steed from the elements for cyclists is the cherry on top.

We have been to the Deers Hut on many occasions and really enjoyed it, however our visit last night was very disappointing. Plus i've just noticed another Trip Advisor review with exactly the same issue, which i wish i'd read earlier. I ordered Fish and Chips at £20, when it arrived the fish portion was bigger than the plate, but when i got through all the batter, there was only 20% of it was the actual fish, in my opinion a very poor amount. I politely pointed it out to the waitress, 12 hours later still awaiting a response :-)

A wonderful overnight stay on our Butcombe Inns trip to Salisbury and Chichester (White Horse, Chilgrove next) Fantastic room in beautiful, peaceful countryside, great service, food (see pic of Sunday Roast) and of course Beer!!

My son booked a table for 6. 4 adult ,2 children, a week b4 mother's day. We arrived 15 mins early, asked to go in other bar as the table was still occupied, 45 mins later we asked if table was ready, they were cleaning it a third time by now it was 4.30. They didn't know what was going on , another table of 8 people had been waiting 2 hours and still not been served. We spoke again to the bar staff. Said we we're leaving, she replied ,we'll get a table as soon as we can. What and wait 2 hrs for our food that hadn't even been ordered.. I've never given a bad review b4, but honestly it ruined my day.. They need bar staff, that know what their doing. As for the cook, over 2 hrs for the other table? And still no sign of a starter.. ridiculous!!!

Table of 4, we were all impressed with the quality of the food and pleasant atmosphere. We would definitely recommend.
