Had lunch yesterday with a friend. The food here is always so fresh and tasty. Had soup and quiche with side of coleslaw and chips, it was all really delicious. Love the fire and always nice to buy a few things at the shop on the way out. Staff were lovely ☺️

Almost £5 for the smallest piece of cake I've ever seen served anywhere. It was nice enough but, yea, £16 for two coffees and two pieces of cake is not great.

Been meaning to try this place for a while. Sorry to say not that overwhelmed. We ordered a buffalo tomato salad thing as a started quite a small portion but tasty. 1 burger meal which looked great, shame there wasn't any chicken burger options. I had the pork with LOT'S of lentils & odd bits of carrot/cabbage with literally a few stalks of spinach. The pork was small & 2 pieces the crackling was rock hard. My drink of ginger & chilli had no chilli. The outside area was small but they had work's so bit grotty. Farmshop inside was nice but very pricey.

We went for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great menu offering everything you could wish for. The eggs were exactly as requested and the sides were all correct! Not always a given with multiple (fussy!) breakfast orders. Loved the bacon - need to know where it was from, and a great cup of tea. In fact it was all good. Our waitress Amy was very helpful and friendly. We will be back!

This was our third visit to the Farm. The coffee and setting was lovely as always, however we ordered the steak and, although it was cooked as we had asked and the chimichuri was pleasant, the meat itself was gristly and tough. My wife and I both had a steak and they were both very tough and we were both pulling out unchewable parts of the steak. Not acceptable for a £22 steak at lunch in my opinion .

Went here this Saturday just gone at about 4pm, from the moment we entered we received terrible customer service. Hardly a smile in sight, very much a stiff upper look. I wouldnt go here again, really quite standoffish and disinterested in any customer service on this day and at this time. Perhaps we stopped you from going home. 4 of us in this party felt this was the experience, I wont be going back.

Sadly, not special any more. Inside looks the same but outside looks tired and neglected. We made the choice to sit outside as the weather was fine. Breakfast menu as good as ever, lots of choice and the service was attentive. The food let the side down and based on reputation and our enjoyment of countless previous visits, our choice of venue today was based on that- the food. For £45 for 2 breakfasts incl drinks and service, it was disappointing. The poached eggs were “over” so not flowing runny yolks and the bread, though good quality, was skits bread- not toasted. I only realised after 5 mins into the breakfast so too late to send back and start again. A shame as the eggs and bread (which was on menu as toast) were the centre of the breakfast. The sausage and black pudding did however taste good (local produce). Mixed feelings, but won’t rush back.

I found this place to be disappointing. It’s trying very hard to be something it’s not, with a tricky menu which wasn’t executed well, overpriced and on top of that, an arrogant, unfriendly little waiter with absolutely no bedside manner. This kid should not be front of house at all. To top it off, the food was burnt and there was no wifi, which made popping in for some breakfast and checking the daily emails, impossible. There is an arrogance in this place and the atmosphere less than friendly.

It's not just the lovely food with perfect proportions (generous amounts of avocado on the toast...not the scrapings you get elsewhere!), or the welcoming fire in the hearth on a cold February morning, it's the calm and friendly welcome, the 'nothing is too much trouble', way they serve you. It's the way they come to the table to take your order and seem to know just the right moment to do so. Really good service, made to look effortless, takes a huge amount of work and commitment. Thanks to the team at Applegarth Farm - I was frazzled when I arrived but totally calm when I left... coffee was lovely too!

Arrived on time. We got pointed to our seat which wasn't very nice. No menus until almost 10mins after we sat down. And it was about 20mins before we could order our drinks. A different server then came over and served us for the rest of the afternoon. Again, she was not overly friendly, neither staff members looked like they wanted to be there and wouldn't engage in friendly conversation. It took around 40mins for the food to arrive. My wife didn't like hers, the risotto was very wet but that's personal preference. I had the pie which was very good. Pictures online show a very difficult place in person. It's not a swish and the farm shop is more of a farm stable. Very small and doesn't hold a lot and is over priced compared to other local stores and farm shops. Needless to say won't be visiting again Ample parking, food was nice though.

Nice location, food was actually really good quality and feels really homemade and priced competitively. One very important thing I’d like to say though(in my opinion), is although the service was good, I didn’t expect to be paying a 12.5% service automatically added to the bill. I mean it’s a farm shop restaurant not a gastropub or fine dining in the city etc. There is nothing exceptional that is delivered on the service front. I am a big believer that gratuity should be earned by going above and beyond expectations. Like everyone, I know it’s “optional”, I’ll always pay it if it’s added but just didn’t expect a farm shop restaurant to be doing this that’s all. It really seems to be the trend these days and in my opinion it is not right, but I do understand the reason behind it. That’s the only reason I didn’t leave 5 star, and also the reason it won’t be on the top of my list of places to revisit.

Wow really had high expectations for this place, but was really disappointed. I have provided feed back to the manager for the visit survey, not response. Drinks were fine and the bread nibbles was excellent. The Sunday lunch mains were not upto standards. Chicken supreme was dry, gravy served in messy jug was very watery. I ordered the pork belly, asked the waiter will there be cracking and he said yes. The dish arrived waiter apologized for no cracking 😱. The pork belly was hence fatty and gelatinous a difficult eat. Also the bottom half of the belly was tough and chewy. The apple sauce was missing. The vegetables were fine, cauliflower cheese was tasty. When I went to pay the bill, I got another apology for no crackling. There was no good will, still took payment including the service charge. I was not going to review this place as I was waiting to see if could resolve the issues with the manager. This has not happened. Merry Christmas!

We waited over an hour for our food to come (one of my friends only ordered a croissant) with no updates at all along the way. They said there was a delay due to it being busy but there were empty tables inside. We were outside as we had a dog and were freezing cold. The staff were rude and unfriendly towards us and nothing was taken off the bill to compensate for bad service. Drinks sat on the bar waiting to be brought to the table, whilst you ate your food without your drink, when serving they crossed in front of you, one passing her sleeve across my food. As locals, we visit Applegarth frequently, either as a couple, with friends or with family. We have always had a positive experience and the food is always excellent. Their roast dinners are wonderful and currently we're favouring their brunches, which really are excellent. Like many places in the hospitality industry, they've had challenges with staffing since the pandemic ended, however their staff are always so helpful and friendly and it's always a thoroughly charming experience. I always compare sitting on the terrace as feeling as if we're on holiday - it's relaxed, informal, and charming with a lovely vibe. We're hopeful that one day evening services may resume and that the pizza oven gets going again (ooh and the fishmonger lunch option), but until then, the breakfast and lunch menus are really good and varied and the quality of food is always excellent.

Lack lustre birthday brunch, their menu online said wild mushrooms on brioche, which is what I went there to have. Everything was in the menu except that. I asked for a fresh juice without the apple juice, the waiter said they were made from scratch and that was fine. Then he returned to say I couldn’t have it without apple juice and that it could’nt be substituted as it would be too expensive!! No other option was given or suggested. He said they could do mushrooms on sourdough toast if I wanted mushrooms.. I got 2 watery bland field mushrooms on a dry unbuttered piece of toast. No flavour at all. He cleared the plates with no offer of anything else.. didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks or the bill. We had to go up and ask for it at the bar. No acknowledgment from the waiter as we left. I wanted to try something different and experience some interesting delicious food, I got neither.

Yesterday, at 3.10pm we dropped in for tea and a cake. 2 of us. Tea slow coming out and then we waited and waited for cake and a scone. After 20 mins I went up to bar and asked where it was. Someone came out and told me the scone was being 'toasted' but was coming. After a further 8mins we went in to change the order to just another cake. They said it was coming. It did, 30 mins after we ordered it! We had of course finished our tea by then. The excuse was they had to warm up the scone and the kitchen was still behind due to the private lunch party that had just left. Given the prices they charge, this was terrible service. So if you go here do not order a scone and jam it will be a 30mins wait. Also service will be slow if a private lunch is on that day.

What a surprise! We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary by coming here in August. Initially coming for breakfast (Applegarth has a good reputation for its breakfasts) we learned CoVid restrictions mean there's no breakfast for the moment. We had coffee on the covered decking as we watched the studios opening up, then went off to shop in Grayshott before returning for lunch (table booked, as it's popular despite not being packed) which was the surprise- It's all about flavour in the Applegarth Restaurant, so you'd be forgiven for expecting small servings. You won't get them, the portions are very generous (probably due to the local and home-grown produce reducing costs) Check the meaty filling in that half-eaten pie (the wife was attacking it before I'd finished my photos!) Leafy greens are grown in planting towers onsite, that require hardly any groundspace and much less care than traditionally grown produce. Environmentally sound and noticeable in the flavour, this gives Applegarth an advantage over other farms and restaurants. The staff knew we were coming for an Anniversary (I'd emailed but not booked) so they booked the table and gave us an Anniversary card, how lovely! The shop (not pictured) is packed with great quality local and homegrown produce at sensible prices (it's not your budget supermarket of mass produced longlife stock, but it's definitely not going to break the bank either. I'm a low paid worker and I was happy) and outdoors has comfortable seating in beautiful surroundings. Check the website for upcoming events, cooking classes, theme evenings. The center attraction for the garden is a pergola which has the outdoor kitchen in the summer (I'm looking forward to enjoying pizzas there in a few months!) What a lovely way to spend an anniversary, enjoying delicious food served by happy and friendly staff. We'll be back soon, the summer dining and outdoor pizzas can wait

We had such a delicious lunch at Applegarth. The flavour combinations were well thought out and ingredients very fresh. I would definitely recommend trying the black forest brûlée and peach trifle deserts.

What a find. We visited for Sunday lunch to kick off our holidays. Everyone was lovely and food exceeded expectations. Great outdoor space. Fantastic farm shop as well. Will be keen to try their cookery school in the future as well. We'll be definitely back.

We were on a day out, meeting up with family. Having enjoyed walking at Ramster Gardens, we made our way to Applegarth Farm for lunch. We all, children too, enjoyed a great meal, lovely atmosphere and we all loved our visit and hope to come...

Only went to the restaurant. Good service and interesting menu but no lunchtime snacks, so if you want a sandwich you will need to go elsewhere!

Food was very nice, but the chicken was a bit overcooked. We loved the atmosphere and the concept. Service was acceptably good. Reasonably priced

Food was awful, service was friendly with plenty of banter. Pub was empty! Come to your own conclusions!

From the moment we held our son’s christening here in 2022, I knew this is the place I’d get married. Simon and the team are the most accommodating, adaptable, friendly people and deserve a medal for putting up with us and our requests. No question went unanswered, no request was too much. Simon never ever left me waiting for a reply and encouraged us to visit the venue as often as we needed to set the scene. We had 3 whole days to set up (not that we needed it as Simon and the team were on hand to make everything look perfect before we arrived). He liaised with our suppliers and kept us updated constantly! He knew exactly what we wanted and exceeded all expectations! The following morning (with some sore heads) we arrived to undress the venue to find most of it had been done for us and our cards and gifts locked safely away. He even let my son have a ride on the lawn mower! My only regret from the day was not having our ceremony at the departure lounge as they make it look so beautiful! The highest recommendations go to Simon and the team at the departure lounge and we’re already looking for another excuse to throw a party here.

We recently had our wedding day at Blacknest and could not have asked for a better day! A lot of that was down to the amazing staff they have there, and a very special mention to Vicky and Georgia who brought everything together! The team went above and beyond to make everything we asked for happen and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it! We cannot thank Vicky and the team enough for everything they did! Vicky was also brilliant at explaining how everything would work and made sure the day ran smoothly! Thank you again everyone, I wish we could do it all again! ❤️

friendly people with excellent service. Plenty of choices and such good value. Every thing so "early morning "fresh as daisies.
