The Farmer Inn in East Hampshire

The service at the farmer Inn was excellent me and my girlfriend were very pleased with the food service and speed at which we were served also a special mention to Amber and Frankie for being so lovely and polite.

Outstanding! Extremely professional and polite staff, great atmosphere and the best pub food we've had. Dog friendly with water bowls and treats. We WILL be back.

The pub was a bit chilly. Food portions were small, especially the veg. Disappointed.

We've just moved to the area and have had lunch at the Farmer Inn twice now, and both times it's been amazing. Friendly service, lovely atmosphere, welcoming patronage, delicious food. Can't wait to go back again.

Food is always incredible! The steak with their creamy peppercorn sauce is the best! Couldn’t recommend them enough!

We recently held our wake here, had a lovely cosy room to ourselves. Excellent food and bar staff, who were friendly and helpful. Could not of asked for more. Throughly recommend.

Lunch with Friends. There is so much more to this pub than I can report in this review, the advertising boards list comedy nights, live music and more. But I can comment on Friday Lunches, with colleagues (friends) that I no longer see regularly due to new working practises. The menu has a good choice, and there are always 'specials' on the board. We visit regularly, choose something different every time and are always satisfied. I am a veggie, there is always a good choice. I mention the food first because the staff and service, for us, make this pub the place we return to. Attentive, but not intrusive, always welcoming and helpful. As a group, we can talk for England, we never feel pushed to hurry up, but our plates are cleared quickly, and our drinks topped up when required. Thank you team Farmer!

Came here for a wake, it was quiet, food looks good, there is plenty of parking and the staff are friendly, nice place.

Good local pub, friendly staff and good food.

Initial bar staff member didn’t seem able to serve a very good pint or pour a bottled beer into a glass without producing half a glass of froth! Young lady that took our food order was very professional even spotting that I was drinking gluten free beer. Unfortunately I didn’t see her name but she has dark hair and was amazing. I’m sorry to say the same can’t be said about the meat!!! The roast beef was so tough it was very hard to cut with the knife and by the time it had been chewed enough to swallow it was tasteless. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds were burnt. Thankfully the other veg was good. Not what we’re used to to be honest.

Nice pub, nice surroundings and dog friendly. Food seems to have gone down hill and the menu has changed. Service wasn't very attentive even when it wasn't that busy. Surprised when desert comes with small custard pot was just over half filled and paid for extra pot that had slightly less in it. It's a shame as always enjoyed eating there. Nice beer garden in summer.

Popped in for a quick bite. Reuben the chef was great given how busy and hectic it was, couldn’t have done anymore to get our food to us in good time. Sam, our waiter, was also great. Keeping us updated with timing on the food and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Great experience and great works lads! Thank you so much 10/10 recommend.

Only had a pint. A very well kept pint of HSB, crisps and chilli nuts. Still friendly service. First time up here for a while. Google reviews ask has it changed. I ask in what way? Building is the same. Decor pretty similar. A different person served me, still friendly service. They still serve HSB. They still look after their beer. Crisps and nuts tasted the same as last time. So I guess yes a different person served me and I sat at a different table and there were different people. Lol

Comedy under the stars-fantastic evening in a beautiful setting!

Went to the comedy night on the 10th of August got told by the organisers that we were being to loud and laughing to much (comedy show ) hello ? Then got told by Jim the owner that he was told that we were noisy without listening to our side of things we were then told we were not being served any more tonight We are three nurses that work on a dementia floor and work hard on a daily basis The way we have been treated is disgusting tonight and with out being listened to Well done to the comedy night and well done to the farmers inn

Brilliant pub, the clientele are super friendly, great atmosphere and food. Lovely beer garden and dog friendly, with water bowls and treats. The staff make the place! Amber was amazing, very attentive and friendly, faultless place! If we didn’t live so far away this would make a great local pub and we would be back every week.

I love the menu here. Always difficult to make a choice. I was a hot day outside so glad to be seated inside! The regulars here are always friendly looking for a chat. The service is great and the meal is delivered in good time. I shall be returning often.

Great pub, didn’t have food as was just a quick stop. But the foods smells lovely so will be back to try their menu very soon.

Ate here on 5th June with friends. Service was excellent. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the chicken taco salad. Really tasty and filling

Whether your going for a quick drink and chips or a sit down meal then The Farmers is the place to go. I've mainly popped there for lunch and the food is quick, drinks are cold and staff friendly.

Lovely pub and great for a drink, the food was not great quality and it’s quite an odd menu. They’d be better focussing on a few dishes rather than doing too much. Lovely garden though and everyone is friendly. We also waited over an hour for our food to arrive, they had a large table in but then tell people when they order? Just a bit disappointing.

Good sized garden with plenty ofparking at the rear of the pub. Recently refurbished to a good standard. Great food and an extensive gin selection.

Sadly there was an hour wait for food even though there were only 4 tables occupied. The food was poor, could not recognise the butternut squash lasagne, very overloaded with layers of pasta with what tasted like tomato soup. The homeslaw was non existent, a few rocket leaves that had seen better days. Overall it was disappointing as have had much better experience before.

On arrival 12.15 we were told we might like to move as a Wake was expected. We decided to stay put as we didn't think we would be long. The food didn't arrive but were asked to move. Food eventually arrived 1.15pm and I have got to say the lunch which was supposed to be a treat for a family member who had been very ill wasn't a treat after all. Butternut Squash Lasagne was sadly lacking in BS. My Chicken Burger must have been an old rooster and the House slaw was a bit of rocket with a miniscule bit of carrot. When I paid the bill I told the barman we were not impressed by the wait or the quality of the foodl He said he had a few customers before us. I said he should have warned us about the wait.

Really lovely pub. Staff are very friendly and helped entertain the children with drawing pad and pens. The food wait was a little long (roughly 45mins) but it seemed to be home cooked, good food. Great size portions. Good quality food. A little on the expensive size, I felt, for what it was. But having said that, most places are overpriced nowadays, so it seems. Would I go back? Yes, I would.

Our local walking group stopped for coffees etc soon after noon on Monday. We were served promptly and made welcome.

Food was delicious, the member of staff was lovely would recommend having lunch here.

For the second time in a week we visited the Farmer and had the Christmas special. It was really nice. The prices for food and drinks are significantly less than surrounding pubs. We have been going there for many years and I think now is the best it has ever been.

Good no-nonsense reliable sort of pub, with a decent, inexpensive menu of tasty food. Ample parking outside and plenty of space inside.

Great dog friendly country pub with a log burner. Very cosy.

Food was lovely but service was shocking so wouldn't return unfortunately. Got there at 12 wasn't busy waited 15 minutes to get our drinks and got them myself in the end as fed up looking at them at the bar. Got drink order completely wrong asked for half and received pints. Other two drinks asked for no ice as not summer but received ice 🤣 Waited another 15 minutes to take our food order was going to walk out but she came just before we put are coats on. After an hour from when we booked our table the food came. Would of stayed for dessert but didn't want to wait for ages again. Shame really as said before food was tasty and hot but can't wait half an hour for someone to ask what you want to eat 😤

Lived in clanfield for a year now & have enjoyed the roasts from the other local pubs,which are all good.We tried The Farmer Inn in Catherington today for the first time today and the roast dinner was superb,we had the turkey from the specials board .It was sooo good.The service from the girls was amazing & it’s dog friendly.Well done you lot at The Farmer Inn,keep on doing what you’re doing,amazing 👍👍

Sunday roast totally gorgeous. I like my beef very rare however and this was very well done. However It was still moist and tasty though but the veg and yorkies were excellent. Excellent beer and the belly pork bites as a starter were the best. Really enjoyed to see the dogs around as well.

Party of 8 for Sunday dinner, which didn't disappoint. All food hot and delicious. I had the belly pork bites for a starter, which were gorgeous, followed by the roast beef, with scrummy vegetables, roast potatoes and the best yorkie I've ever had, all covered with lashings of gravy. Service friendly and efficient, relaxing atmosphere and very well priced with a great varied menu for all tastes. We will be back!

Pet friendly pub. The farmers Inn, has changed a fair bit over the years since I lived locally but for the better. Restaurant at one entrance, pub at the other. Dog friendly, large beer gardens. Decent food, good service, can't grumble. Lovely pub for food or a pint or 3.

Table of 5. All had a Sunday Roast. Big portion and delicious. The homemade sticky toffee pudding was the best any of us have ever tasted. As light as a feather. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed a few pints of Northstar

The smoked bacon in the baguette was raw. The toilets were very clean, but the bar was not. I'm not sure whether they had just been taken over or not. But it was not the best experience, sorry

I don't usually bother with reviews,however this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks that we have eaten here and its fabulous. Happy, friendly staff and the food is amazing and really good value for money. Only down side is no full fat coke.

Good lunchtime meals and fairly good value too. We liked the choice of smaller meals. Three real ales on from Fuller's/Dark Star. Very good service from the young man manning the bar. There is a decent car park and small garden to the rear.

Went there for a wake. Food was laid on, but as a Coeliac did not eat and one soft drink bought for me, so unfair to rate the food. What was provided look nice and many tucked in with no complaints.

Food was lovely once it arrived. Prices are average for the meals we had . Drinks were good . The wait for food was extremely long and had we known this previously we would have chosen to just have drinks . The garden is pleasant with lovely views

We attended our God-son's surprise 30th birthday party here (organised by his partner) in one of the bars and had a great time. The staff were friendly and provided a nice buffet for the evening. I'd recommend it for smaller parties.

The service and price very good I had roast beef bit tough but roast potatoes and veg Yorkshire puds gravy brilliant they did give me some different beef bit thinner it was a bit better they,also gave a free sweet as an apology. I will go back they deserve a 2nd chance.

Excellent experience! Staff are fab and entertaining! Never boring! Chips are fab and so are the chicken goujons! DO NOT GET RID OF THEM! Alice and jim are just the best! Not kiss arsing at all! AMBER IS AMAZING!!!

My favourite pub, atmosphere is amazing, nice traditional pub feel with locals nice eating area with an amazing menu and reasonably priced. The landlords take great care in moving the pub forward and thinking of new ways that can be done. Staff are fantastic, always up for a chat and knowledge of the bevys is great.
