Booked table for 5 in advance. Roasts were OK but vegetables cold and had to be reheated. Veg lazagna tasted like a microwave meal. Chef came out to apologise and offered a free dessert but to be honest we just wanted to leave. Restaurant was empty, so food should've been better.

Warm and friendly. Excellent food and great service. About previous review complaining about parking - there are signs literally everywhere about entering your reg number to avoid parking fine - signage in carpark, garden area, entrance, bar, reception - everywhere!

Ate there for lunch in January and had the parsnip dumplings. Dry as bone, no sauce to speak of. Bland, bland, bland. Parents had fish which was dry and overcooked. The only salvation was our charming waiter who couldn't do enough to redeem the situation. Sadly, he was unable to change the menu or dishes. Seems like we weren't the only guests to complain about the dishes. Apparently, the chef does not take kindly to negative feedback, so staff are reluctant to tell him! How ridiculous. Come on folks, for the price you command, you can do MUCH better than this please. We've eaten there before and had a very pleasant meal.

Having seen the restaurant’s picture on the website, we thought that it looked to be a comfortable place to have lunch but it wasn’t open on a weekday so we ate at a large table in the entrance area. But as it happened that was probably all to the good since our 2 grandchildren were able to have much more freedom, and the food was excellent. The celeriac soup was luscious, the confit duck very tasty and apple/berry/ginger crumble was excellent. What is more all these dishes were suitable for those who could not eat gluten. Perhaps the only downside was that the small dishes (vegetables, custard) could have been warmer. Did I mention the friendly and helpful staff? We should certainly like to eat at The Lamb Inn again, hopefully this time in the restaurant.

Family lunch for my husbands birthday, I don’t actually know where to begin, we sat on a table outside and went in to order our food and drinks, 3 of us had cheeses burgers and chips, 1 full English breakfast, 1 jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw, 1. Jacket potato with prawns and a child’s fish chips and peas, 3 diet cokes an orange juice a Ribena and a coffee all coming to over £85. Our burgers had no salad or any garnish or any sauce, said on the menu it came with salad, full English was dry plain no butter on the toast, not very good value for money considering it cost £12 everything dumped on top of the toast. The only meals that actually looked good were the jacket potato and my granddaughters fish chips and peas. Very over priced for the quality of the food. I came here a few years ago and the food was amazing, such a shame.

We went here as it was recommended by a few different family members as a lovely shop and place to eat, but unfortunately were incredibly disappointed. We ordered a breakfast for us and the childrens brunch for our son. It all came out really quickly after we ordered. Unfortunately it was all cold and went stone cold really quickly at the table. So it was horrible, really not nice to eat when it’s like that, we ended up leaving most of it. Such a shame as it looked nice. There was no way it could have been cooked to order that quickly and also have been so cold, I can only assume most of the elements had been cooked much earlier and kept warm ( but not that warm!). No butter/spread came with it for the toast either so that wasn’t nice to eat either, we did look if there was any self serve but couldn’t see any. The childrens dish was completely unsuitable for a small child. If you’re going to do a childrens plate it needs to be suitable for little children, bearing in mind that older children will probably just order from the adult menu, not just put a few bits of the adult food on a smaller plate. A huge adult sausage which was completely unsuitable, a thimble of cold baked beans, just clearly a plate put together by someone who knows nothing about feeding small children, and by the way cold baked beans and cold scrambled egg really is disgusting. I am not sure how the egg was so cold if this was freshly made for our son, answer it wasn’t. For what we paid for this, this was really gutting for it to be so disappointing and inedible. I wished we had not wasted our money as we basically came home £40 odd quick lighter and still hungry. However not put off by the dining to look at the shop, we browsed after and selected a few Christmas bits. It has a lovely shop and Christmas range. We went to the till and the woman, called Katie, according to our receipt, was so rude and miserable, she wouldn’t speak to us at all, she didn’t smile, she didn’t say hello, she didn’t say thanks, it was embarrassing/uncomfortable and I almost said just leave it and put the items back. Really unpleasant experience. We walked back to the car like, wow that was odd and horrible and we’ve just spent all this money again now to feel like this! Felt really badly treated. So yeah wouldn’t recommend this place and definitely won’t be going back, no matter how aesthetically pleasing the shop is and how nice the baubles are, there are much better and friendlier places.

We were fairly early and not all tables were occupied. We were seated and given 2menus. We then sat for 15 to 20 minutes with no-one coming to take our order. I finally had to attract the attention of one of the waitress and explain how long we’d been waiting. We didn’t get the impression she was that bothered, although later on as we were leaving she did apologise for our wait. Whilst we were waiting, another waitress came along and asked if we wanted cutlery! There seems to be a serious lack of co-ordination and possibly also a lack of training on the part of management. The positive side was that the 2 breakfasts were well cooked and tasty….just a pity about the wait and lack of an apology at the outset. As we left, we were asked if everything was ok and we gave a positive answer re the food itself. Again, the waitress did apologise for the wait we had experienced.

Went for Sunday lunch both the staff and service was excellent and I had no problem paying the service charge. They even offered my wife a chicken roast dinner that wasent on the menu as she doesn’t eat red meat but like a roast dinner. Unfortunately the food just wasent very good. I had the pork and beef roast and both cuts of meat were fatty and quite tough. The roast potatoes were very dry and powdery and the skins were not even remotely crispy. Carrots peas and red cabbage were fine. Wouldn’t go Asian for a ready dinner.
