Fox & Pheasant in South Bucks

Really nice pub. We dropped by for a light lunch, two starters and a side of chips, and had a couple of beers. It was quiet, being a Monday, and was a very pleasant place to be. Our lunch was excellent and the service was great. The pub is part of a big chain, but nevertheless its was still welcoming, and was excellent value for the area as well.

Had such a lovely time here for lunch. We booked a table but we were running late so called to let them know and this was not an issue. Served by a young man, didn’t get his name but he was very polite and made us feel very welcome. Amazing service throughout. Lovely food. We had a 1 year old and a 2 year old that made a bit of a mess which we apologised for and cleaned up as much as we could but the staff were not bothered by this. Overall nothing bad I can say about our experience. Decent food. Reasonable prices and lovely service. We will definitely return.

When we arrived the main entrance had a smashed window so not the best first impression on our first visit. We booked our lunch, pre ordered our meals and still had to wait an hour and a half from our mains to deserts. I had roast beef which was full of gristle and my stuffing was still frozen in the middle. We were finally served our deserts and with some members of the group having crumble and custard they were given forks to eat with! With custard??? Then told the spoons were still in the dishwasher so we’d have to wait if we wanted one. One woman in particular in the team was quite abrupt and made us feel we were an inconvenience to her. The whole event could have been so much nicer. We won’t be going back to this pub and had we not been to other Greene King pubs we wouldn’t go again.

Great little pub that we stubble on by mistake. Huge outside area and garden (Probably the biggest one I have seen :) ) Very friendly staff and delicious food. Ray and Beverly was very courteous and made us felt very welcome.

AVOID THIS PLACE THE WAY THE TREAT CUSTOMERS IS SHOCKING!!! I booked for the family on mothers day for lunch. I was asked to pay a deposit which I was more than happy to do and said I would check on numbers and call back in a bit and pay this .. I call continually and the phone just rings out! I then receive an email today to say my booking has been cancelled no phone call just an email. I was advised they have now given my booking to someone else , So even if pay deposit now they have already given our table away ... I was told I was sent an email to pay the deposit I received no such email. I advised them I could show them my call history to show I have been trying to reach and they were not interested at all They had my contact details so cannot understand why they would not call before giving the booking to someone else We are now couple of days away from the day and can not book anywhere else ..

Lovely Sunday roast, would definitely recommend! Came in with the family today and felt nothing but welcomed, and was very well looked after by Ella, one of the lovely waitresses. She was very smiley and friendly to us alongside our amazing roast dinner! I had the turkey breast which was lovely. Overall, very good experience, all staff were lovely, and will definitely be returning!

Great Traditional Country Pub with fire place and huge back garden which would be nice for lazy sunny days. Good food and polite staff too.

Lovely laid back evening for an old friends catch up with a bottle of wine and a meal. We had the camembert and the calamari starters then both had steak and ale pie with chips and veg recommended by our very attentive waiter Johnny. Lovely food very good value. We weren't rushed at all , Johnny was an excellent waiter 5 star service from start to finish . Would highly recommend

The service we received was incredibly! Nothing was too much we held our work Christmas party here. Johnny was so supportive and funny. Such warmth and laughter from him certainly an asset to the company. Definitely come here for the food and drinks and stay for the lovely well mannered staff who go above and beyond for you

Very pleased with the lunch I had today at this Resturant.. Went with a good friend and decided to have the senior menu choice of 3 courses for 8.99 each.. plesantly surprised at quality of food and portion size.. lovely and hot and tasty.. We had the spiced pumpkin soup, Hunters chicken and fruit crumble with custard and coffee after.. fantastic service, very polite and friendly staff who did not rush us. Will definitely go again to try the main menu courses. 5*****.

There was a large group of use gathered for my daughters meal out. The restaurant were very relaxed. We had balloons up with my daughters age and finished with cake. I had beef and ale pie that was very nice. My daughter was very impressed with the baby’s changing area which had a mobile above and pictures about it.

Myself and my 8yr old son ate here tonight as staying local. Maria and Raife were so welcoming and friendly, a credit to the business. Lovely food, great service and will definitely be back (although live over 100 miles away!!)

We had a family meal for 25 of us to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Food was a little slow to come out (understandable with such a big group) but it was delicious when it arrived. This restaurant has gone downhill in the last 12 months... I was here just over a year ago for lunch and had a very good experience. Having visited again recently I was amazed at how far backwards the restaurant had gone. 1) Table Service - The table service was awful. We had to keep chasing the staff which there appeared to be an abundance of but they weren't waiting tables. 2) Kids Food - After we finally ordered the kids food came out on a piping hot plate for a two year old. Zero thought had gone into giving a child a boiling hot plate. When her ice cream came out it was in a Sundae glass for a 2 year old! Again, no thoughts were given to giving a two year old glass. 3) Food - The food came out dry and was of a poor quality. The turkey looked like it had come from a packet, the vegetables where hard, the gravy looked like it had been reheated on a plate. A very poor roast experience. 4) Basics - The cutlery came out and and we were given normal sized spoons for Sundae glasses. Again, no thoughts. 5) Cleanliness - The tables, toilets and garden were not clean. There was rubbish blowing round the garden with glasses and plates on the table which weren't collected. Overall a really, really poor experience for a pub/restaurant I held in high regard not only a year ago.

The worst roast dinner I’ve ever had We waited an hour for food and the roasts came out like they’d been sat on the side a week and reheated - broccoli hard and shrivelled, peas crunchy, roast potatoes tasted like burnt water, turkey was questionable, items missing from other plates Everything seem dehydrated - dry and tasted funny We ate out of politeness to the elderly person we were with who wanted to treat us. Apart from my kids, I didn’t force them to eat and made out they weren’t feeling well Toilets haven’t seen bleach in years Just rank - never ever again

We ate here on a Tuesday evening and the pub was very quiet but the staff were lovely, very attentive and fun. The food was delicious, I had salmon and quino salad, wonderful, my husband had the gammon with soft eggs. Excellent evening and not expensive

Travelled here for a Comedy Dining Event, (allo allo). Had a wonderful evening of entertainment and a tasty 3 course meal. This Pub/eatery is part of a regional chain, and their standards of decor and dining vary little and are usually quite acceptable. But my wife complained that on an evening with a well booked dining area due to the event, there was no functioning lock in ladies toilet, no toilet paper and no soap. Not too much to ask is it.

Went to the Fox and Pheasant on Tuesday with my partner and son. What a lovely pub.
