Lovely meal. Excellent service.

The service and staff 10/10. Just brilliant! Food was very good but slightly small portions but still very good.

This was a great unexpected find. We could not fault the food, the best fish and chips I have had in years. The staff and were super friendly and very attentive. Dog friendly, we will certainly be visiting again. I highly recommend.

If I could put 0 I would. Didn’t even stay for food as the glasses were so dirty. We arrived and the staff were reluctant to show us to our table, then the staff started arguing amongst each other. We then went to order and they refused to serve 1 person on the table alcohol and therefore wouldn’t serve anyone on the table alcohol which is absolutely not the law as we are all 30 and above!!!! When we queried this with the manager he said he could only agree with his colleague and there was nothing they could do. They were both extremely rude and I definitely wouldn’t return. There are much nicer pubs in the area, avoid this one.

Stopped here on the way back from Heathrow and it was a perfect choice. Food all freshly cooked, homemade comfort food! Yum! Children's portions are super generous (not complaining) Money well spent! Thank you x p.s I recommend the fish pie.

Great location, not far from city and feel like in countryside. Easy access and parking available, not far from Flowerland and Uxbridge and outside ulez zone so best place to meet up friend and not bound with the charge for ulez

Booked for a Mother’s Day meal with family. Roast dinners were lovely and burgers and sides were also good, small menu but excellent menu! Highlight was the homemade cheesecake for dessert!

Incredible service - friendly staff, made you feel very welcome. Kept an eye on the table (never went without drinks). Food came quick and hot. Great burgers with lovely additions. The roast dinners had an immaculate array of vegetables - not just the boring cabbage and carrots. Delicious desserts - would recommend the cheesecake to all. Overall, great place and can’t wait to come again!!

We went to the Black Horse for Mother’s Day lunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful, kept checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our food and offering us drinks. The food was incredible, very large roast dinners and good portion sizes. Kids meals were delicious too. Seeing as it was Mother’s Day we treated ourselves to dessert, all the desserts were homemade and amazing! We had the brownie and the biscoff cheesecake and the kids enjoyed the ice cream 😍 my dad requested an Irish coffee which wasn’t on the menu but they made it for him anyway. At the end of the meal us mums in the group were gifted a mini bottle of gin and some chocolates which we were very happy with, such a lovely gesture! Overall a lovely pub with yummy food and a friendly atmosphere, I’m sure we will be back!

Went in here for a lunchtime meal for two. Easy parking, good looking pub, and shown to a table straight away. We had the fish pie (excellent), and the steak and tanglefoot pie. The pie was wonderful, stuffed full of meat, great gravy and lovely braised red cabbage. We will definitely be back. It was a little bit quiet when we went, so not much atmosphere, but we were told it gets a lot busier at weekends and evenings.

We went here for Christmas dinner. The party included my wife daughter and her partner and my grand daughters. I had soup Christmas dinner and pudding. The service was very friendly. My daughter is a fussy eater and her wishes were accommodated. This place is well worth another visit

Been here many times without any issues, but today was a special 80th birthday lunch for Mum. Kasey looked after us and made it feel extra special, referring to us all by name, adding a birthday card to the table for my mum from the blackhorse team. Went with a large Xmas party. Could have done with a few servings but overall did a good job Food was tasty and good size portions Could have done with the sauce and gravy on the table before the mains were bought out Overall a good evening was had. Music / live band was a little overpowering when trying to have a conversation

Had a fantastic fish pie. Plenty of fish and super tasty. Wife had a club sandwich which was massive.

We went here today for our Christmas lunch and there was 20 of us and the food was appalling and we did not even receive a Sorry or any kind of discount on our food. The staff were so rude, but Mason was ok! We had the roast and some had fish pie which was small portion and very dry,The potato’s were so burnt and shrivelled and unable to eat them, and the turkey was SO DRY. When we asked for new potato’s we were told there was not any non burnt ones we could have. We asked for more gravy as there was the tiniest bit on each plate and then they brought out a few more then was told no more gravy for our party. Then the dessert came out and the custard was non existent, we had to ask for more which they did bring. The drinks were good but will not be returning !

If you want burnt roast potatoes and minimal gravy this is the place for you. We went for our work Christmas lunch and there was around 20 of us who ate and had drinks. The service was poor, the only ok one was mason! The potatoes were so burnt on our roast dinner and it was SO QUIET in there so absolutely no excuse. We asked the waiter for more and she advised we were unable to have more, even though they were unedible? There was the smallest amount of gravy in which we had to ask for more and then we’re told after that we werent allowed any more gravy which should be standard when you had so much money out of our “party” The turkey was so dry it was hardly eaten! And the dessert had minimal custard we had to keep asking for more ! Won’t be returning here the only good thing was the drinks . Disappointed 😔

Great staff, nice atmosphere.great food & a nice variety of Badger beers, only slightly let down by the tasteless apple pie dessert that a couple of us had.But one you avoid that you wouldn't be disappointed. Group of 10 of us went for our Xmas dinner & we will certainly use it again for any other big doo. No one left dissatisfied. Thank you guys.

A lovely looking little pub. That is the only positive thing I have to say! Arrived at just gone 8 on a Friday evening, hoping for a quiet drink and some dinner. It's not often we get a Friday night with no children, so as we enter our eardrums are blasted by the dj stood literally just inside the front door. Nobody else was in the bar area, but at all the furthest points in the place from the dj and the bar. After shouting at the barmaid to see if they had a table for us, we were told they just needed to clean a table and that we could wait in the bar area. So we ordered a drink and perched ourselves at a table, not talking, because we couldn't hear each other. After around 20 minutes, a miserable lad brought us to a table, a bit quieter in the restaurant area, thankfully, so we sat down to look at the menu, sipping our drinks and chatting. After around another 20 to 25 minutes of being ignored by the miserable looking waiter, we caught his attention and asked if we could order. He kind of asked us to bear with and disappeared again. After another 5 minutes, the girl from the bar came over all apologetic and informed us the kitchen was now closed and that the chef(s) were not interested in cooking anything else. So here we are, at almost 9 pm on a Friday night in a restaurant with half a drink still and no food making its way to us. Couldn't be more annoyed as by now, we have no options for dinner locally at all. We are fairly local and had popped in for a pint previously and had liked it in there, but we will most definitely not be returning. There are plenty of other places locally that are just as nice to look at and probably a lot more pleased to serve you!

Had a lovely lunch here . The little back book corner is great for if you have dogs which we did . Staff very nice . Brought us over water for dogs and even some dog treats .

I consider going out to a pub for dinner a treat. Unfortunately, the pub had issues on the evening we visited. We ordered food - very basic - salad and a starter - and it never arrived. We asked multiple times - no food. We had to leave without eating - the manager was not available for the refund. I emailed. I fb msgd. I popped in. Eventually I received the refund after 3 weeks. No apologies. It used to be my favourite local but I haven’t gone back.

Advertised as Dog Friendly and brought Friends who came down for the weekend and my Little Cockapoo. I was advised by our Waiter if my dog keeps barking I will have to take her outside. It was poring down with rain and the reason she barked was because she was tormented by 2 little children and I did say this. Our Waiter made me feel unconfutable and not once did he smile or make me feel at ease. I was very stressed and will never go there again. Dogs bark no where did it say if your dog barks you have to leave your meal and sit out on the rain. By the way out little dog is still learning and she is only 17 months. The food was ok but I felt rushed and on edge. The dog did not actually bark one the 2 little children moved away. Never again will I step foot in there way to grumpy.

Nice looking place, inviting, tidy, and clean. Nachos to start were good, and drinks are cold. Service is slow, but with only seeing two people serving dining customers and the bar at the same, it's a staffing numbers issue! The food is good (recommending the onion rings) but sadly a salad main meal was served on a hot plate which cooked the lettuce and the dressing was too runny - saturating the croutons and chicken bits in breadcrumbs making it a bit soggy! Other than that, it's a winner!

GREAT environment, outdoor and indoor area. Kid-friendly with good variety of food for the kids. GREAT cheeseburger on Sundays. We enjoyed our time at Black Horse with 3 kids.

Excellent food and drink for the price point. Service was swift and friendly. Car Park is a bit of a weird design, and not space for many cars but other than that would definitely recommend.

We visited Go Ape and this was recommended by the staff...we had seen a different pub on the way in but gave this a go and very happy we did. Looks lovely outside and in.. friendly welcome as we came in, a good selection of food too. Both went for sandwiches with chips, my order was not exactly as the menu said but they were happy to accommodate..Nice drinks too. Probably won't go back as we rarely ever do but happy to recommended the place!

Two of our party had the roast beef it was very dry & over cooked. One had chicken it was on the bone if they had said that on the menu they would not have ordered it.

Our last ever visit. Used to go once a week. Met family, sandwiches were very poor for the price. It is all about cost-profit, value has no place in their offering anymore.

Anyone looking for some quality pub grub needs to head here. My daughter and i's favourite place to grab a bite

Really good attentive service from both the waiter and bar tender. We visited for a lunch with work and stayed on to do some activities and they were really accommodating. We sat outside in the sun for drinks and inside the restaurant for lunch.

Really Lovely Pub, great service, very tasty food, good atmosphere, we were on our way to Pinewood Studios to see Would I Lie To You and booked the Black Horse as it was nearby, we could not have chosen better, Thank you for a great dining experience.

Great place. We were looking to avoid the traffic on M25 after a few hours driving home. Found the black horse on Google maps. Warm welcome. Great food. Especially the cauliflower wings. Joshua who was serving was great. Friendly and attentive service.

This is a nice pub. The inside is a mix of old fashioned pub charm and modern convenience. Plus, parking is available. Based on my one experience, the food is on the good side of ok. The burger I had was fine but wouldn't make my best pub burgers list. The fries were very nice. Plenty of outdoor seating, and they've done their best to screen the road. But the garden is next to the road, rather than a traditional round the back affair.

I stopped at the Black Horse today with my girlfriend and we were greeted by Hannah who was very welcoming, polite, professional and witty. We will definitely be stopping there again one day.

I have been coming to the Black Horse for a few years. Since opening up again after Covid, I have noticed an improvement in the staff, food and management. A warm, friendly, professional team serving great food and beer.

Not been here for a while, nice for afternoon and evening drinks, always great been, will pop back to check out the food that looked lovely, and maybe award that 5th 🌟!! Yep, still wonderful on a warm may Sunday afternoon with the ☀️ out... Must grab some food next time and maybe that 5th star.. but what is not to like so far

Had a table booked for 5-45 was seated at table waited 10 minutes for table service for drinks and menu. Got served bottle of wine only gave us 1 glass couldn’t be bothered to take top off of wine for us to taste . Then was completely forgot about. Waited 25 minutes never got another glass or anybody come to our table to take our food order ( not as thou they were busy only one table eating) So I asked for the drinks bill and left not even an apology Got the impression they didn’t want to be bothered to serve food ? Went to red lion in iver just down road great service and great food and loads more choices on the menu. DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK

The food and service was lovely. Very quiet and relaxing lunch. The two downsides were that there wasn't a employee around to ask for the bill. My friend had to go from our table to the bar to ask for the bill??? Also it's a good job that we'd finished eating our food as a lot of ants were crawling over the table!!! We highlighted this issue to an employee who said that it was because of building work going on which is a very lame excuse and could be prevented by putting baby talcum powder round the entire building!!as ants hate it.

Nice staff and inside decor with seating outside. There was enough parking on a Sunday afternoon. The lamb kofta skewers were meaty and the small salad on the side was well dressed (the cream sauce it came with was tasteless though). The chicken pot pie was deep filled with large lashings of chicken breast, good quality food overall.

Had a great Sunday lunch here with family. the staff were excellent and I really enjoyed the roast pork lunch, Plenty of parking. I’m sure we will be back in near future

Lovely outdoor seating area friendly staff. Good quality food. The only complaint would be the fact the menu states 3 dishes (nibbles) for £12. However when you go to order the deal is no longer on. Perhaps update the menu. This is false advertisement.

Booked for Sunday lunch at 12.30. Arrived and found very few people there. The table we were offered was in the middle of the empty room, a large square, places set on opposite sides. Any conversation would be heard by all around us. I requested a different table but told they were all reserved. Our only option was to use one of the tall tables with high bar stools in the other room where I would have to order at the bar. We went there but found the stools not very deep or comfortable. My friend cannot eat beef products on religious grounds and does not like fish so there was little for her to choose from. We both had a roast, Pork and Chicken. Food was just Ok, pigs in blankets were extra for the chicken, no crackling with the pork or Apple sauce. Plates were not hot so the food cooled quickly. The staff were quite attentive but at times surly and abrupt. It was all alright but could be so much better. We may be back to try once more in the summer as the garden looked good. When we left and hour and a half later the tables we were not offered were still not all filled. Disappointing.

We actually booked this pub by mistake thinking it was a different one but we are so greatful that we booked here after our visit to Black Park. Everything from booking, paying deposit, pre order, service on the day, quality & quantity of the food and then the suprise mothers day little bottles of prosecco made this a great find and trip out. we have already been telling family and planning our next visit. The team were great and we had such a lovely mothers day with a big part down to The Black Horse. Thank you

Absolutely the worst dinning experience I ever had . Staff and management unprofessional and extremely rude. Food was served after nearly 2h and what I saw on oure plates was unbelievable. More less everything was returned. Think twice before booking a table there !!!!!!

Arrived at 4.30 to be informed that there were no more roasts. Not good for a pub that advertises Sunday roasts. Ordered the Steak pie instead, very disappointed, pie was dry, did not like the red cabbage that came with it. My wife’s pork chop was overdone and very dry. Puddings were disappointing, kids ice cream was ok but the jam sponge seemed microwaved and not very spongy at all.Our bill was reduced after complaining but this does not really make up for a disappointing meal. Service was very slow. Will not be returning.

What an experience, in such a good way. Josh and his team were amazing. We booked the Black Horse at one weeks notice for a wake. The communication up to the day was efficient and relevant. Food was ordered and allowances were made for extra small plates. On the day the team could not have been more attentive. The food was so good. Everyone commented on the quality, the variety and the taste. Tea and coffee and plenty of chips in bowls that never emptied. Value for money incredible! It was the compassion showed on the day by the team that impressed me so much. They genuinely cared. Thank you so much for making the booking and communication so easy. Thank you from the bottom of my families heart for supporting us on such a difficult day. Thank you Josh and your whole team for being so caring. We would recommend to anyone looking for a venue to cater for their events.

Just met up with my bestie, stopped off here on a whim. Excellent decor, good menu, and very friendly staff. Will definitely return.
