New Queen Pub Restaurant in New Forest

Four of us went for Sunday lunch at The New Queen Inn today. The food and service were exceptional. Kiran was a standout. He was attentive and engaging. We will definitely return.

We were on our way back from New Forest and decided to stop for a a late lunch at The New Queen. Parking was almost full and restaurant looked busy but we were offered to seat outside as we didn't make a reservation. We were happy with this as weather was lovely and it has a picture perfect view. We had to order at the bar our food and drinks. After we had our drinks we didn't have to wait for too long for ur food, considering it was bussy and I need to say this is one of best roast we had in really long time and we will definitely be back for our next one in few weeks time.

Came for my dad’s birthday meal- 12 of us adults and children. We were very well looked after, Kieran was a superb guy with great banter and looked after us very attentively- great kids menu well prices, and vegan menu with delicious food- lovely atmosphere and the kids enjoyed the park - dogs even welcome in the restaurant so our fur baby came too! All round a fabulous evening and will certainly be returning again!

This has to be the perfect place for couples and families alike. Family of 12, with vegans included arrived at 5.00 to celebrate a birthday. Kieran our waiter was absolutely spot on with everything, couldn't have asked for a better evening. The food was perfect, the service was great and we even took our own birthday cake which they put candles in and brought out with our coffees. We left just before 9pm wasn't rushed at all. The kiddies periodically went and played in the playground in-between courses and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. Grateful thanks to the chef and his team who work behind the scenes. Really well worth a visit.

We booked a table of 9 to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. We were promptly sat down having been offered a choice of indoors or outdoors. Our drink order was taken promptly and drinks arrived soon after minus water we'd asked for. There was water in a cooker on the bar but the waiter hadn't let us know we had to get our own. Not much long later we put in our food order and then the wait began. Having ordered quite quickly on our arrival we waited over an hour for food. It was quite busy and probably lacking adequate staff. Following our mains we had another wait to be asked if we wanted dessert. Once ordered dessert was relatively prompt, one had been forgotten but once reminded this came relatively soon. The food itself was good quality. The river and nature reserve made for a lovely setting although the regular aeroplanes at the nearby airport were incredibly loud and didn't make for the most relaxing setting. Our children enjoyed a play on the climbing frame and slide. The only other point I'd make is the young male waiter encouraged my brother-in-law to order more alcohol despite him informing him he was driving. It was his birthday but the waiter's advice would likely have meant he was over the limit.

Had lunch here with family. Very busy for a weekday. I had the burger and chips. Chips were a bit dehydrated, but the burger was incredibly tasty and well seasoned. It came with lovely relish and coleslaw. The relative with me had a fish dish, which he found incredibly tasty. Most definitely a lot of care and attention goes into the food served here. Also good value for the generous portion size of my burger. In terms of service, neither the waiter nor the waitress dealing with us that day, were well welcoming or friendly in the slightest. They were however still pleasant throughout. Came here before, and was exactly the same service from them. However, the Manager is is the complete opposite. He is incredibly friendly, and really goes out of his way to make us feel welcome. He provides outstanding customer service every visit. Overall service is not easy to rate here, as it was average from waiter and waitress but excellent from manager, so overall I would rate as good service.

Sunday lunch is amazing. Succulent roast beef with all the trimmings with Yorkies and cauliflower cheese to die for. The restaurant was totally booked out but service was still brilliant. Live music too after 2pm.

Well what a massive change from my last visit a couple of years ago. Great food, great portions well presented. Good staff attitude. Lovely decor. Thumbs up people will be back!!

Went to celebrate daughters birthday, fantastic service ,good menu ,fantastic food and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this establishment, we will be returning.

Faultless from start to finish. I went with my two children 5 & 7 for Sunday roast. There were multiple servers around and they were all pleasant, alert and happy. The kids food (Sausage and Mash) was a decent quality and the roast beef was amazing. A decent portion all round as well! We’ll be back next week 😊

Amazing friendly staff and excellent service from the moment we walked through the door. Treated my mother to lunch and The New Queen didn’t disappoint. We chose starters and 2 different ciabattas. Mine was steak and it was cooked beautifully and the presentation was super. Not as expensive as some pubs these days too. Highly recommend.

We went for lunch on 23rd October (4 adults); we felt the lunch was average and pricey for what we had; a total bill of £124 - 2 stir fried beef (so hot that it left one of us with heartburn) 1 pie and 1 mixed grill; 1 beer, 1 tonic water, and 2 gin and tonics; no dessert and 4 luke warm coffees. We commented on the stir fried beef but the waitress took no notice. we had asked if the beef came with vegetables and were told it included stir fried ones - all we found were a few shreds of spring onion! There are better pubs around and we will not be returning to this particular one.

Had a lovely roast dinner, staff were very friendly, but part of the reason for my 5star review was having the added bonus of listening to the very talented Kelly Lorraine Vocalist whilst we were dining. My only criticism is that she did not sing for longer. Can't wait to return with all the family hopefully when Kelly is singing again ❤️

This was to give this pub/restaurant another chance to redeem itself after poor service in the past, but sadly it failed. We will not go there again and would not recommend it to our family and friends.

This pub is in a nice location, has ample parking, and has a large terrace and garden with a children’s play area. The lunch menu is interesting and varied and, generally, the food is pretty good and nicely presented. However, my venison steak, which I’d ordered medium rare, was way over cooked (no pink at all) and therefore dry and tough. Also, my wife’s chicken, ham and leak pie was apparently too salty. But for these issues we would have given The New Queen five stars.

Disappointed. Previous experience here was excellent. So 7mths later we reconvened as a group of ex-work colleagues. I ordered haddock and chips. What appeared to be a decent sized portion of fish was in fact a mass of very hard batter. The chips were over cooked being hard and brittle. Massive amount of peas couldn't rescue this. Several of my colleagues also had the same brittle greasy dark brown chips with very heavily battered fish. Will try elsewhere next time.
