Blinking filthy place! Should of known from the Salt and Pepper pots its the was the start of a terrible breakfast! Plates are dirty! Rock hard fried eggs is the least of your worries. Don't waste your money!

Just had a Sunday lunch here and the food was better than I expected and the staff were so accommodating, atmosphere is good, food hot and delicious and will deff make it a Plas ce to go for lunch

This is is a great place to eat. The food is tasty, especially the roast meats, and there are plenty of sides to choose from. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A perfect spot for a delicious meal!

I recently visited Toby Carvery Caversham Bridge and was really impressed by the service. The staff were welcoming and attentive, making sure everything was just right throughout my visit. Even though it was busy, they were quick and efficient, ready to help with a smile. The great service made the experience enjoyable, and I’d happily return for that reason alone.

William served us and was very pleasant and obliging would highly recommend going for a warm and friendly atmosphere!!

I’m not happy with my visit , I had a table booked at 14:20 today and to start with we was stood at the door waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes , then we finally get taken to a table that wasn’t even set up for service so had to watch them clean it which really isn’t very professional, we then waited 10-15 minutes for our waitress to come over and take drinks order , our meal was lovely couldn’t fault it , however when we asked for the bill it said £50.22 , I then asked the waitress Megan to split the bill into 2 which would of worked out £25.11 each I then proceed to pay £27.29 and my dad paid a further £27.28 , to start with I didn’t thnk anything of it but then I checked my bank and thought that’s not right , so we have clearly either payed for the wrong table or she has tipped herself which is technically theft. For myself being a manager at another pub in Mitchell and butlers, I am really gutted about my visit . I understand it was a very busy Sunday lunch and I know it can get stressful but unfortunately we left very unhappy .

Thank you so much, William, for an awesome evening. From start to finish, he couldn't do enough for myself,partner, and daughter. Nothing was too much trouble. We decided to come out for the £6 carvery deal as a little treat for my daughter. The food was amazing, and there was plenty of choice and fresh out of the oven. After we had finished, William explained that we had 2 courses for children's carvery and gave us an ice cream to go in a little pot. Without his mentioning, we wouldn't have known, so my daughter was over the moon with her ice cream to go! Thank you so much for everything! We will defo visit again!

Very happy with all aspects of our visit. Food was great, service was excellent and the value was incredible. It was quite full, especially for a Monday, and we could see why! The one improvement I'd like to make is that when we found we were going to be a few minutes late I wanted to ring the restaurant to let them know but I couldn't find a telephone number on the booking confirmation email or the reminder email. Fortunately someone else looked it up on Google so we were able to let them know. Could telephone numbers be included in the emails just in case?

Terri our waitrese was very . Helpful and professional. Had an easy happy disposition. Went out of her way to comply with our wishes.

After our slightly disappointing visit in February, we’ve just had a fabulous return visit. Our server was Ruben who was lovely. He was attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and piping hot. My only minor gripe is our Yorkshire puddings were flat and not very crisp. The following trays of puds were much better but we were too full to go and have one. Looking forward to our next visits in April.

If you don't mind gristley meat and being served by a barmaid who acts as if she would rather be elsewhere then this is the place for you. Rinsing a glass and leaving droplets of water in it just prior to pouring wine was her party piece. This 'restaurant' survives because it's on the Premier Inn site with no other restaurant within walking distance. A bit of competition would soon see it gone.

Excellent Server. Catherine was absolutely fabulous!! Brilliant personality and runs rings round the youngsters. The food was good too. It’s been ages since we have been to a Toby but we thoroughly enjoyed it and Catherine made it a lovely evening, really loved chatting to her.

The food was fantastic and the service so friendly and prompt. Megan our server looked after the kids and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely!

10/02/2024. Special visit with friends who’d travelled from Cornwall for the weekend. The “meet n greet” lady was fantastic. She showed us to our table, took our drink orders and helped us out of numerous occasions when our server, Asha, let us down. Unfortunately, Asha did let us down a lot: she had no idea of what the flavour of sponge of crumble of the day was, she messed up the dessert order and the final bill. Not sure if she was having an off day but it was obvious she wasn’t paying attention. She needs training on product knowledge and customer service. The food was great as usual but the buffet ran out of Yorkshire puds. “Meet & Greet” lady brought them to us some 15 minutes later. Also, there was very little gravy when we first left the buffet. Considering it was a Saturday, I don’t understand how the kitchen failed to have sufficient supplies plus the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. Our previous visits had been excellent so last night was particularly disappointing especially as we’d recommended to our friends it would be the best place to go.

I just got an amazing service at this Toby Carvery, the waitress called Julia W was incredible. Always communicating and engaging to make my experience the best it can be, she deserves recognition!! Thank you for such a great night !!

I came with a friend for a post-Christmas catch up. Had a lovely meal with lots of choice. There was beef, pork, gammon and turkey available. There were lots of vegetables available too. It was very busy but the line moved quickly. The food was lovely - the meat was very moist and tender, and the vegetables were fresh and hot. The service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for Dylan and he looked after us really well. Checked that we were happy with our meals, brought extras, offered dessert and drinks. It was also great value as I had an offer via email for the January sale. All in all great food, great service snd great value too!

Well what can I say, absolutely brilliant. We had our wedding lunch today, the staff were great and very helpful they couldn't do enough for you. The manager even set up the table in a little area of our own and she made heart shaped napkins which was a great touch. The food here is cheap and nasty. Vegetables are just mush. Overcooked and utterly tasteless. The puddings are the same. Cheap sugar laden cheap rubbish. They serve cheap food for the masses. They really need to update their menu and give a better choices to include healthier food. It is not acceptable now days to serve such overcooked vegetables.

Very nice, quite busy as you'd expect on this day but staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. They had reasonable knowledge of allergens but only had an allergen sheet rather than specific menu which was a pity but not a deal breaker.Prices for what you get are very good, with a choice of meats and as much veg and potatoes that your plate can hold.

We were staying overnight at the Premier Inn next door and had intended to walk into Reading town centre and go to a restaurant there. But, it was pouring with rain and we took the easy option. Our expectations were not high - some of the reviews on here were discouraging. The meal was far better than we had expected, however. Not only that, but, the staff were friendly and helpful and the bill was modest. We had a baked Camembert with cranberries to start (very good) and roast beef to follow. The beef was tender, plentiful and flavoursome and the vegetables (self-service) were enjoyable. There were some respectable wines on the wine list and the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was particularly enjoyable. We ate well, drank well and were treated well. We came away feeling full and pleased with ourselves.

Had lunch with two friends and had a lovely meal. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was all so beautifully hot and such a variety of meat and vegetables.

Waited half an hour for table,but it was very busy.the food was very good,but the sauce table had very few sauce dishes with any sauce in them.I suppose I could have found someone to ask,but I had my plate of food in my hands.The service was good considering how busy it was.I don’t know how much the company is worth but the coffee machine was broken,(it looked like it had been for a while) I would get it sorted as a matter of urgency.I still think that Toby gives good value for money.and as the car driver I appreciate the soft drinks free top up. Ate here with family on Sunday evening. I booked in advance online which is a great addition to the service, having previously visited and had to wait 45 minutes for a table. The queue for the food was long and we waited about 15 minutes. Couldn’t fault the food, apart from the roast beef which looked very fatty so I avoided. The food was very hot which amazes me because everything is on hot plates. The reason why I marked it down was because of the other people in the restaurant letting their kids scream and shout and jump over the chairs. We could hardly hear each other speak. Also the waitress changed shifts and we had to chase them for the bill. They appeared very short staffed which is not their fault as they were working very hard.

Firstly I will add the letter I sent to complain."I just visited your Caversham pub and was disgusted by the whole experience. Service rubbish! Staff unprofessional! General cleanliness/table clearing disgusting! In my mind and the staffs very under staffed. A brief description man behind bar continually moaning to anyone about working conditions. Also had his family there very unruly and his children babies upward to 7 years old ish going behind bar into glass washing area etc(which I'm sure is against the law) only to be told by his dad you mess with that and you will hurt yourself. Totally unacceptable!! This went on and on for our whole visit a really bad experience had by us and I'm sure by everyone else who was there. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the picture. Absolutely Disgusted and would never return and would only tell everyone the same"After there so called looking in to it they more or less said it's not true! I know what I saw and I'm not happy with it at all.
