The best restaurants serving British food in South East

We visited The Owl today with friends having not been there for several years The food was extremely good and the service excellent. The menu is extensive and very good value. I suggest if you haven’t been there for a while you pay them a visit. In my opinion you will not be disappointed.

Love this pub great food and drink. But the most expensive brandy in the world. I’ve been to pubs, bars and pop ups all over the world and locally but £15 for a brandy and coke was just shocking. I genuinely have no words. It’s really put me off and I’m gutted!!!

Banging pub, lovely staff, great facilities- pool tables, darts and games. Quick service. Lovely smoking area. Great locals, everyone is super friendly but never overbearing. Can’t express my love for this pub any more than just giving them a big fat 5 stars. Keep up the good work.

Only really go for the under-5s soft play. The coffee has always been good, and the children's food is great. The soft play is decent for the size of the place and is a nice bonus. Could probably be a bit cleaner, but the children certainly don't care.

Arrived early for my friends gig. Delicious burger, juicy with a caramelised edge. Plenty of fresh salad in the bun and great fries.

Terrible experience. We arrived at 8:00 pm and we’re looking forward to a meal as the place looked fab and we had just arrived on holiday. However on arrival at the bar when we asked for a menu the guy behind the bar said “ we’re not doing food now!” To which I replied “ but the board outside said you serve food until 9:00!”. He replied “ well we’ve been busy today !” A you believe it !!!!!!!! I was at a loss for words but what I should have said is “ surely with the board outside advertising food until 9:00, surely that’s breaking trade descriptions. Appalling attitude !

Amazing food. Amazing portion sizes. Amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended this hidden treasure. This has quickly become a favourite of mine.

Booked the restaurant for a festive lunch for 18 people. The service was superb, well-organised, and friendly. Michelle and the waiting staff were infinitely patient with the off-piste requests. The food was delicious, generously portioned, and HOT. It was great value for money.

Loved this pub, amazing food and good people. There are only two pubs here and we felt safe there as we do not go out in Burnham town as it’s too dangerous. So yes we where all sad when they shut down, to only sell it and now are applying to change it into a place of religious practice but there are no locals here that practice religion so it’s a bit odd. Anyways we will miss you Jolly Woodman.

We have been here before - it is a nice place. The food is quite good although some of the dessert/tart portions are on the very small side . . . Lunch was fairly good - but the wine grown locally in Canterbury was beyond awful . . . Barely passed for rose let alone red. Tasted weak and insipid and quite unpleasant - and for £10 a medium size glass beyond a joke . . .

Popped into Farnborough for a quick few items ....noticed a Wimpy which I have'nt visited for more then 30 years. Service was quick burger and a tea cake cooked to perfection. The restaurant is super clean with spotless floors and tables compared to a MuckDonalds...table service was absolutely perfect with no hovering about which I hate. Will return in the near future and prices very reasonable. Certainly took me back to the 60's / 70's. Rather have a Wimpy over a MuckDonalds any day. 5 stars *****

A lovely pub in a great location, with amazingly friendly service and great food. We were so well looked after and all had a lovely time. Thanks so much - we’ll be back!

As a group of friends we went for the festive lunch menu, had an individual table in a characterful brick area. All the food was beautifully presented and tasted great The service at the the table was also good The only downsides were that the area we were in was cold and when we went to book and arrived the reception welcome was not inviting . The way of paying was a bit convoluted However we will go back as the food and presentation was excellent

Stayed for one night. Room was perfect, clean and comfortable. We had breakfast at 8am, no table was laid, no cereals etc. the breakfast was over cooked, and the milk for the tea didn’t look very fresh as skin stuck to side of jug. The restaurant was freezing cold. We had dinner there the evening before and then went out…. We came back about 9.30 and thought we might have a drink, but the whole place was shut up….very strange.
