Visited Friday night. Was very busy but very helpful friendly staff, great atmosphere, good food. Will return.

Very friendly and welcoming staff as always, a lovely country pub feel with an open fire, always warm serving delicious food and a great selection of lagers, ales and spirits.

Best pub in the area by far. Staff are very welcoming & nothing's too much trouble. A traditional, real pub, it has a delightful, up market restaurant. The menu is excellent, they have a top notch chef whether it be for the restaurant or bar areas. Highly recommend. It's doggy friendly & kiddy friendly too.

Lovely warm atmosphere both in temperature and vibe . Excellent food , quality fresh tasting beers and wines , Bar staff very friendly, Landlord and Landlady very helpful .Overall a great traditional pub feel , we will be back very soon

The Bull, it’s a place where me and my partner love to go. Place is very inviting and beautifully decorated, it just adds to a good atmosphere. If it’s a hot summer day we enjoy a beautiful platter outside in the garden, in the winter time we get cozy by the fireplace with a stunning roast. The owners and staff can’t be more pleasant and lovely . 🤗

It was a impromptu visit while out with my mother. We were greeted by a very charming young called Liam who showed us to our table and was very informative about the menu. Once we had choosen which was no great feet with such a lovely menu. The food came out and there was loads and the food was lovely, we all enjoyed our meals very much. Great value and amazing service, will definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who asks. Great job all with big thanks to Liam once again.

Dinged a couple of stars as they'd run out of a couple of things from the menu and they seemed to be struggling with too few staff on that night, but overall a lovely evening.

WE HAD TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR! Food was ok but NOT AT ALL WORTH THE WAIT. The waiters were quite nice and gave us complimentary drinks to make up for the wait but overall NOT WORTH IT. JUST TO MAKE IT WORSE THE PRICES WERE ABSERD! DO NOT RECOMEND!

Beautiful atmospheric pub. Cozy and wonderfully decorated. Our waitress was an asset. Without her I think we may have been forgotten. I enjoyed my starter and main. The only thing I would say is that my main could have been hotter and considering we were the only table eating at the time it took a while to come out. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Great meal and great pub! Had the Christmas menu and the vegan option, which some places don't do very well, but this was absolutely delicious - will definitely be back after Christmas.

Disappointed with the quality of food and service. Pork Roast and Chicken duo were pre ordered. The pork turned up dry and the chicken so hard and chewy. The roast puddings were over cooked and tasted like crispy cardboard - dehydrated!!! As for service then I had to get up twice to go and grab the attention of one of the three waitresses who were busy chatting to eachother behind the bar! Obviously I did not leave a tip. Would I go there again? Sadly No.

An absolutely lovely Sussex Pub. Very friendly and a lovely Cozy feel and fantastic food! Will definitely be back again!

The staff were friendly and attentive,but; 1.my turkey roast dinner had only one small slice of turkey.When I asked ,if I could have at least another slice ,the server said yes,but it was never forthcoming. 2.a vegetarian member of our group ordered a vegetarian Wellington and received a vegetarian pie(I.e not a Wellington)and it was fairly tasteless. We have been regular customers at The Bull for 5 years or so,but do not now feel inclined to return

I went to my work Christmas party here last night and the food and service was incredible! The portion sizes were massive and the food was clearly freshly cooked and was absolutely delicious. The presentation was also perfect especially the desserts. Throughout the evening the staff were extremely attentive and very helpful. They always anticipated when the next drinks were needed and informed us on how long any food would be taking. Even though the pub was completely full, the atmosphere was perfect. It wasn't too loud or too warm and you didn't feel too packed in. It was incredibly cosy and decorated perfectly for Christmas. The change in the pub over the last two years is phenomenal and 100% down to the hard work of Heidi and her team. I can't wait to come again sometime soon!

We booked for a group of around 20 mainly retired friends for a Christmas meal. The pub advertises as being open to 11pm, so we pre-booked a taxi for that time. The food was good, but it became clear that by 10.15 the staff wanted rid of us. We were made to leave and were even made to wait outside for our taxi even though we explained we had tried to get it to come earlier. Being December it was cold. We questioned why we were being made to go when the pub sign above our head said open until 11pm. We were told quite rudely by the staff that they had permission to close when they wanted to. I won’t go back.

Had a lovely meal, the atmosphere was comfortable, and relaxed. The staff attentive, and pleasant. Food was delicious, and the courses perfectly managed. Special mention for the Tribute ale, which is easily one of the best pints of Tribute I've tasted. Someone clearly knows how to look after their ales.

Visited for my father's birthday and went with the festive menu... it was fantastic. The food was tasty, the service excellent (thanks Sophie!) and the Christmas atmosphere in full swing. Happy to recommend.

First visit here for a few years, with my husband and mum. Vast improvement to food and interior. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious - the three of us really enjoyed our meals. Drinks reasonable. Definitely recommend - intend to eat here on a regular basis now!

The place is kept warm. Both temperature wise and through the friendliness of the staff.

Brilliant staff and atmosphere, the food is brilliant and good value for money. Fire was lit, warm and welcoming pub, offering great value for money with great beers and food .

If you’re looking for fabulous food in a lovely cozy setting then look no further. The food is delicious, Sunday Roasts definitely get the thumbs up as does the friendly hospitality. It’s fast becoming a firm family favourite.

We took a visiting friend here(we have been here several times before) A large party had just finished and the staff were busy clearing up but very kindly sat us so that we could have a drink and check the menu. The service and food was exceptional, as we have had before. Very friendly interested staff. Highly recommended. Thankyou.

We came here to Celebrate a birthday while trying their festive menu & we can't thank the lovely Carin the lady looking after us enough!! she thought of everything & when things were not quite right she put it right straight away without hesitation!! She made us feel very welcome & made sure we were enjoying our visit from start to finish. We don't normally tip but felt that this level of service had to be rewarded & could only wish all experiences were as special as she made it. Thanks again Carin we will be back for sure!!

Very slow service today but good still very good

Having just moved to Ferring, we've been to the Bull a few times now as its our local. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly. We've even had a deal for the breakfast one morning after a walk around Goring and Ferring. Really hoping the quality levels stay high, as so often these places don't seem to be able to keep it up. Chef and Brewer seem to be doing the right thing at The Bull as its always busy.

I’ve dined at The Bull a few times before, but after a recent visit, it’s clear they’ve really stepped up their game. The food was absolutely incredible and very reasonably priced. Despite being busy, the staff were attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

Lovely meal but service was slow. Felt like leaving before we had ordered. Had to ask for someone to come over and take our order and then ask again where our food was as it had been so long. The food was lovely and everyone was friendly. The pub is beautiful and clean.

Visited today for a business meeting. Location was great, inside was lovely. Everything was clean and bright, and the staff couldn't do enough to help me with GF choices for food. Over and above and very much appreciated. Lovely place, lovely people and we will definitely be back!

The 2nd time visiting food both times lovely. Just a long wait but to be fair they did say there was a 1/2 -45min delay on food. Will visit again as food and staff excellent.

I had mistakenly booked the incorrect date! The staff were so fab and understanding and found us a table straight away despite it being packed. The staff continued to be absolutely lovely and very professional. Would highly recommend…food is delicious and the whole atmosphere is lovely.

Great we went for the first time today. Our friends told us about the place. They said it was very good. Wrong. It was great. I had the Gammon . Wow one of the best ever tasted. We all eat very well. The service was great Niall and Heidi were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. For sweet I wanted the sticky toffee pudding but they only had it with cream or ice cream. I asked for custard. Niall said no problem. It came out . It was the best I have ever had . And the custard was perfection. Thank you both. Don’t miss this gem of a place if you are in the area. You won’t be disappointed.

The turkey & pork roast was extremely disappointing. Two small slices of poor quality meat, roast potatoes were dry and anemic, crackling lacked crispness, accompanied by swede and cabbage made a very insipid plate. The steak was acceptable but the seasonal salad was a garnish of rocket & a ribbon of cucumber. Staff were busy but no accompaniments were offered and no one checked that we were okay. If dad hadn’t been with us we would have walked away. Previous meals had been go so don’t know what’s gone wrong? When we had the opportunity to complain the waitress was extremely pleasant and compensated accordingly to which we were grateful.

This my local and is vibrant as an 'after work' tradesman pub on a Friday. Don't let this put you off as the garden is superb when the sun is out and the food and service is always well received. Well worth a visit.

Had a fabulous evening out with family. Friendly atmosphere, great food and great staff. Caris and Mollie served us and Nick cooked amazing meals. We were served straight away and made to feel very welcome. The place is very clean and has a real cost vibe. Definitely would recommend to friends and family. I think we have found our new place as so much to choose from on the menu. It all looks so good. And Caris and Mollie are great hosts.

We ended up at the Bull as the other place was full and I’m so glad we did! To start the customer service from our waitress, Louise was spot on, friendly, helpful and informative absolutely superb. The food was lovely cooked perfectly and plentiful. The decor is great I really can’t recommend this pub/restaurant highly enough, our first time eating there will definitely not be the last! 5 stars

Pub and Restaurant and surroundings very nice. Really good menu. Food quality was good too. But it was the staff that made this visit so good. Carris and Dan. Two people that knew how to do their job. The service was very efficient and friendly. It made our visit so enjoyable. The owners of this venue should be very proud of how good the service was. It is what makes all the difference.

We held my father's retirement "party" at Bull on 12 October. The whole thing went really well from the initial booking and organising the food we wanted to the super evening itself. The staff were really helpful- nothing was too much trouble. The food was plentiful and delicious- especially the hot bites and the dessert platter. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely location, fabulous food and wonderful staff.

Food was amazing our second visit with in two weeks quite a hefty drive for us being in brighton but we'll worth the drive , staff on both occasions have been polite ,well presented and attentive. This time my partner and I had a wild boar scotch egg piping hot with a runny yolk and the sharing cheese platter is what made us return for main we had steak sandwich (cooked perfectly) and sausage and mash with was also top notch, I can't find a fault in this place and I am a man that likes to pick holes in things but I honestly can't. Well definitely be returning to sample more of the menu thank you

the 4 of us popped in for a bit to eat. It was a week night, I ordered a couple of pints and a bottle of wine. After looking at the menu I went up to the bar to make inquiries about ordering food. I was told "we're not doing food now. A big table has come in and kitchen is too busy" It really would have been nice to be told this kitchen fiasco whilst we ordered drinks, as we then had to rush our drinks to go somewhere else

Visited for the first time today. From the second we walked in the mood was great ,lovely friendly welcome and staff .lovely and clean. Hands down the best camembert iv ever had .and even the main dishes were beautiful .love it !!! Defiantly will be back .

Where to start! Absolutely fantastic from the food, service to the atmosphere. Staff were friendly and very helpful on recommendations. Their specials were hard not to pass up, especially the boar scotch egg starter! I had the sea bass main and it was the best I’ve ever had. My partner had the smothered chicken and also said the best smothered chicken he’s had. Unfortunately couldn’t stomach dessert but we will be back to most certainly try them! Thank you especially to Heidi and Niall for making it such a lovely experience.

Visited and sat in the garden on Sunday 1st September. The team were very welcoming - despite being fully booked, they squeezed us in for drinks and snacks. They offered our dog off-cuts from the kitchen, were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere in the pub. Thank you!

We stumbled across this pub after the NHS sent us to a hospital nearby. We just stopped for a quick drink on that occasion - but received such a warm welcome we decided to return for a meal the following week. The bar and serving staff were once again charming, friendly and efficient. We loved the warm, cozy atmosphere and, most importantly, the food was excellent! We have contined to received this fabulous customer service on several subsequent visits. For consistent excellence, The Bull has certainly earned this positive review. It truly is a lovely pub.

Been here a few times for dinner/ lunch in the past, and now often come for breakfast! Decent portion sizes and all freshly made. Brilliant service from Heidi and Niall.. and off course seeing Oscar 🐈‍⬛

I got charged £6.55 for a pint of orange juice and lemonade which is ridiculous. The pie looked lovely and the gravy and veg were beautiful but the pie unfortunately didn't have that much meat in which was a bit disappointing. The garden was lovely to sit in.

Can highly recommend the Bull Pub! I came with my mum and we had calamari to start which was so fresh! And then both had steak and ale pie and WOW! Such fresh food and all home made was so beautiful. Lovely atmosphere, very clean and Louise and Holly were amazing at serving us to very lovely people xxx

Having not been to the bull for a number of years it was great to return here and find what a lovely little pub it is. The service and food has greatly improved since visiting some years ago Heidi, Niall and all the the team were so attentive and helpful. Had a couple of sharing boards and my oh my did they beat expectations! Absolutely beautiful and enjoyed in the lovely enclosed beer garden

Elderly parents tried to go for lunch, after a hospital appointment. Dad having been before without booking, and having a good experience despite being full, they were turned away rudely as they hadn’t booked. I understand the need to book, but the rudeness to 2 older people who came in, in heavy rain, bar area was empty… Should have been dealt with kindly. Not made to feel like a nuisance. Thurs 25th July.

The food is typical of a chain pub. If you like frozen roast potatoes then this is the pub roast for you. All I can say is it adequately filled a hole.
