We stumbled across this pub after the NHS sent us to a hospital nearby. We just stopped for a quick drink on that occasion - but received such a warm welcome we decided to return for a meal the following week. The bar and serving staff were once again charming, friendly and efficient. We loved the warm, cozy atmosphere and, most importantly, the food was excellent! We have contined to received this fabulous customer service on several subsequent visits. For consistent excellence, The Bull has certainly earned this positive review. It truly is a lovely pub.

Brilliant, friendly, and professional service

Been here a few times for dinner/ lunch in the past, and now often come for breakfast! Decent portion sizes and all freshly made. Brilliant service from Heidi and Niall.. and off course seeing Oscar 🐈‍⬛

I got charged £6.55 for a pint of orange juice and lemonade which is ridiculous. The pie looked lovely and the gravy and veg were beautiful but the pie unfortunately didn't have that much meat in which was a bit disappointing. The garden was lovely to sit in.

Can highly recommend the Bull Pub! I came with my mum and we had calamari to start which was so fresh! And then both had steak and ale pie and WOW! Such fresh food and all home made was so beautiful. Lovely atmosphere, very clean and Louise and Holly were amazing at serving us to very lovely people xxx

Having not been to the bull for a number of years it was great to return here and find what a lovely little pub it is. The service and food has greatly improved since visiting some years ago Heidi, Niall and all the the team were so attentive and helpful. Had a couple of sharing boards and my oh my did they beat expectations! Absolutely beautiful and enjoyed in the lovely enclosed beer garden

Lovely beer garden good food but had to wait a long while for service as staff all seemed tied up with food and no one actually at the bar but nevertheless nice atmosphere

Elderly parents tried to go for lunch, after a hospital appointment. Dad having been before without booking, and having a good experience despite being full, they were turned away rudely as they hadn’t booked. I understand the need to book, but the rudeness to 2 older people who came in, in heavy rain, bar area was empty… Should have been dealt with kindly. Not made to feel like a nuisance. Thurs 25th July.

The food is typical of a chain pub. If you like frozen roast potatoes then this is the pub roast for you. All I can say is it adequately filled a hole.

It was our first visit to The Bull and we couldn't fault it. Greeted on entering, great service from all staff especially Jess who was our waitress. Food surpassed our expectations and we will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you to all staff for making it a great experience.

Six of us shared a lovely lunch together at the Bull today. We were warmly welcomed and served by Jo, Kiera and Louise who all attended to us with friendly smiles and professionalism even when it got busy and their attention was requested by many other customers. Our food was piping hot and absolutely delicious, thanks to the chefs Jay and Jeff for outstanding quality and flavours. We are looking forward to returning again soon. Good job everyone.

A lovely pub off the beaten track, they have a great selection of drinks to choose from including a variety of bitters. Food has been superb 👌 always comes out hot and tastes delicious. Complements to the chef Jay who I thanked while paying my bill.

So two years ago we reviewed the place and gave it a three star rating. Today we returned and it gets FIVE stars. Lovely warm welcome on arrival from Jo. Found a lovely seat in the garden which is now being well maintained, as was evident from the tables being freshly painted. Superb food - chicken and crispy bacon ciabatta excellent with lovely filling, fresh ciabatta and superb side salad and chips. Great value too. The garden medley was a surprise and excellent. We’ll be back for the just launched Ploughman’s Sharing Platter!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I have been here a few times and each time I find myself saying, 'thats a really nice place' The good is great and not overly pricey like lots of places these days, the folk who run it are so lovely and their staff are friendly and professional. I have also attended a wake here and the already put out was amazing!! They do not disappoint whether you fancy a pint, Sunday roast or a special occasion.

We've been enjoying drinks here for many years as a local, but avoided the restaurant for the past 5+ years due to previous bad experiences. However, after seeing some decent recent reviews, we decided to give it another chance for Father's Day—and we were not disappointed! The food was fresh, well-cooked, and delicious. Despite it being a busy afternoon, we never felt rushed and were well taken care of throughout our visit. Heidi, Niall, and the team have worked very hard since taking over and I would recommend The Bull's Head to anyone looking for a traditional pub with a welcoming atmosphere, great food, and an excellent selection of beers and wines!

Nice pub with friendly staff but I have one major gripe. The tables and seats in the garden are often filthy and covered in bird poo. It would be nice if they could check them each day and clean off any offending mess.

Bit disappointed actually, vegetarian Wellington was lots of pastry and not much else going on and roast potatoes tasted like mine and mine are generally awful! Other meals were more successful, and service was helpful and efficient and it was busy so they are obviously doing something right.

I couldn't fault it. The team were lovely, the food was amazing but great value. Was a great lunch out.

Went with family for Sunday roast. Very disappointed as the food was over cooked and dehydrated. The turkey was OK but the beef and pork was chewy. The crackling was very salty and the potatos were dehydrated. Not much choice for my daughter who's vegan. Won't be going there again

Visited the Bull yesterday for Sunday lunch, great service and lovely food. Mollie and Jess were great, it was an overall lovely experience and will be retuning again.

This was a last minute decision booking with a couple of friends. We were served by the lovely Kiera who was super friendly and welcoming. Food was beautifully cooked by the Chef's and shout out to Jay for a gorgeous pudding 😁😁

This is a fantastic local pub, serving good with an exceptional welcome, we had to change our booking at the last minute and were accommodated beautifully even though it was a busy Saturday night, Niall and Hiedi were brilliant

Amazing food, our second visit and already planning the third. We were the last booking but wasn’t rushed at all. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I had one of the specials (pork) and was by far one of the nicest meals I’ve eaten out. Husband had a burger which was huge! We managed to also fit in a dessert (not sure how) and it was gorgeous. Can’t wait to go back

Booked a table for 4 for 7 pm on Friday 19 April 2024 to celebrate my birthday with my wife, sister and brother-in-law. The restaurant was extremely noisy with the customers on the adjoining table literally shouting above the background noise. Our order was taken promptly and the drinks brought to the table without any great delay. There was a long delay before the ordered main courses arrived. Two were fine, the pork loin was a very small portion for the money charged and the pork was dry and over-cooked. The steak and ale pie had very little steak in it and the pastry was almost inedible. A further soft drink ordered did not arrive. The waitress apologised about the steak pie and took it back to the kitchen. The chef agreed it was unacceptable and offered to delete the charge from the menu. A replacement was declined. The waitress shared that there had been previous complaints about this course. A further request for the soft drink was made and it arrived eventually. Deserts were a little better, although delayed and the jam rolly-polly pudding in the trio was overcooked. The waitresses were lovely but evidently over-stretched.

This pub has a relatively new management team in charge and boy have they got the pub up on its feet and running well.Bad staff are friendly, food is generally good and they’re trying really hard to make this place a success,so please give it a go. We were served and looked after by a guy called Daniel who was absolutely brilliant. Couldn’t do enough for us. We’ve lived in Goring 40 years and we’ve seen this pub have its ups and downs but it’s definitely on its way up 👍👍😁

We booked The Bull for a Celebration of Life ( wake) for 70 people.. the manager Niall & Heidi could not be more obliging. Tried the new menu for Spring 2024. Was fantastic, and Jess, Lou and Ollie were fabulous.

We hadn’t been before but heard it had a new refurbishment. We were greeted almost instantly and although we hadn’t booked we were able to get a seat . Quite lucky as the tables were filling up as we ate . We had a main , the gammon . My husband said it was delicious, it was served almost like a think fillet of gammon with well cooked chips , egg and garden peas . I ordered sausage and mash , delicious Cumberland sausage served with a jug of gravy .very tasty and filling . I had a a salted caramel sundae for pudding . Not sure I had room but can’t resist a pudding , divine . Thought it was a great touch to have a mini fresh baked cookie with my cappuccino. The place was very welcoming and the decor was great , tastefully done with a touch of baroque, we liked it so much my husband kept saying he wished this was our local . The gentleman that served us was so personable and professional it was a pleasure to have eaten there . We will definitely be back :)

I posted a review about a year ago saying complaining about their poor booking procedure. Guess what? Just as bad. We booked for 1.15, were shown to a table, given menus and after about 10 minutes someone took our order. Then, and not until then, were we told there was a 45 minute delay. Why they didn't tell us that as soon as we got there I don't know nor do I know why they think I've got 45 minutes to waste. To be fair the food is good and it's a nice place but I doubt that I will return. Can't be messed around like this

Really nice friendly pub atmosphere and the food was excellent. Dog friendly which was handy for us and there were quite a few dogs about in the bar area. Dogs not allowed in the restaurant bit which was fine by us, we had a table by the bar instead.

We held a celebration of a recently departed family member at the Bull and all the staff were fantastic. The food laid on was just right and and delicious, the atmosphere was positive and they gave us all the time we wanted. We couldnt have been better looked after. I would strongly recommend a night out at the Bull.

Service was incredibly slow. I had the leek, asparagus and cheese pie - no sign of any asparagus! Doubt if I’ll go there again

My go to pub . I live in Ferring and always take the 15 mins stroll up to The Bulls Head. In the colder months the pub has a warm, cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The wooden beams and open fire place creates a lovely ambiance to have a few hours socialising. My wife and my daughter and her partner all think its fabulous. Heidi her partner and her team work hard to meet everyone's needs. The beer and lager selection is ample and my favourite Tribute is excellent. In the summer the beer garden is great and it backs onto a local park which makes it a great cheeky dog walk !! 5 stars for me. I cannot yet comment on the food but it looks great . We did say to Heidi we will have a meal soon. Keep up the great work guys. Many thanks. Simon , Jess and Tess.

Just come back from the Bull, where we took my 91yo Mum for mother's day. She had the sea bass, my wife, the vegatable Wellington, and I had the trio Sunday Roast. We're all stuffed as the last morsel had to eaten as the food was so good. Special mention has to be made to Tia, our waitress, who really enhanced the experience with her bubbly, but very efficient service.

Booked a table for 5 for a mother's day treat on a Saturday afternoon. The food was excellent as was the attentive staff nothing was to much trouble for any of them. If your looking for a nice meal out you won't leave here disappointed . Definitely will be returning again soon.

Popped in for lunch as recommended by a friend. Everything was spot on- friendly welcome, efficient service, pleasant atmosphere & great food. We had the chicken blt ciabatta & roasted squash flatbread which were both delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of other options that we were tempted by & we'll definitely be coming back soon.

So lovely to be back enjoying The Bull thanks to Heidi & Niall the new management and of course their lovely new team! They have colectively reinvented and created a wonderful local Pub that had been ruined by previous management. A friendly atmosphere with decent food and drink at a sensible price not easy to find in this current climate! Well done guys it’s back to being our regular Pit stop! 🙏

Having been to the pub a few times for a drink and enjoyed the pleasant, friendly atmosphere, my partner and I decided to book a table for lunch. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The starter was nice, however after seconds of finishing the starter we were told our main was ready. I was surprised it had been prepared so quickly. My partner and I both had pies, one veggie, one meat. One came with potatoes and one with mash. Both meals were awful. The food had been blitzed in the microwave, so both pies were soft and stodgy, not crispy. The broccoli, peas and roast potatoes were undercooked. The mash potato had dried up. It was quite possibly the worst meal I've eaten and I've eaten in a few Greene King restaurants. When asked if the food was ok, I mentioned the issues I had. The waitress offered to try and rectify things but I thought they would only blitz it more in the microwave which would not have helped! Overall we were extremely disappointed by the food and won't be eating there again.

My wife and I had lunch with our son and daughter in law and grandchildren and were initially really impressed by the welcome, staff and atmosphere as this was our first time. Unfortunately the 3 roast dinners were all cold and the chips with my sons fish were cold. The crackling with the pork was just soft fat and skin, the only thing which was remotely warm was the side of cauliflower cheese; we were very disappointed. We do not like to make a fuss whilst in the restaurant as we were having a family meal. My wife and I live locally but would not be booking for a meal again although will use the pub for a drink as it had a lovely atmosphere.

Brilliant little pub. Very friendly. Heidi and Niall have done wonders bringing this pub up to quality standards. The food is delicious, drinks even better. And you can take your dog. What more can you ask for?! Will definitely be back!

We chose the Bulls Head as it came up on a search for chef and brewer near to our home. The staff member helped us get the double doors open for our son's wheelchair and seated us ( I think her name was Jo?) Service was pleasant and the food arrived quickly. We had a steak and fish and chips,both of which were cooked well. On leaving Kyle dealt with the bill and also helped with the doors. Very pleased with the whole experience and will go back to try some of the other dishes.

Managed to squeeze us in even though they were fully booked. Friendly staff, beautiful pub with a real fire. We will be back.
