Had an excellent lunch with friends. Varied menu to suit everyone’s tastes with easy adjustment to one meal to suit particular dietary requirement. Delicious desserts and lovely, attentive service from Sophie and Caris. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous lunch today, good food, good value, lively friendly staff, we will be back.

We decided to pop in on Friday afternoon for lunch and opted for the chicken & bacon sandwich with fries and a pint of Guinness. Chicken breast sandwich was really tasty and photo doesn’t do it justice. Staff were attentive, even though it was busy. Love The Bull even though it is our local pub.

Went here for the 1st time 3/03/2025 , with my son , daughter in law and 2 grandsons , I really speak as I find , I thought the food was spot on , 3 of us had the set 3 course menu , the steak and ale pie was beautiful , in fact all the food was lovely , Sophie and Annie who served us were lovely and looked after us well.. I thought the cost for 5 with drinks was very reasonable and I will definitely be going back

A group of us met for lunch on Friday and had a wonderful time at The Bull. Great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. We can't wait to return. Thank you xx

I came here a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed the food so I thought I’d come here again with friends for Sun lunch. The rest of the food as usual was good but I had the Sun lunch and was very disappointed. I had the pork which was thin slices of tasteless meat with a tiny portion of crackling. In fact tiny portions of everything except the yorkie and the potatoes. I asked to swap the broccoli for cauliflower cheese and got the tiniest sprig of cauli you’ve ever seen. I like my veggies and was really disappointed. It said carrot n mash with it on the menu. There wasn’t even a forkful of it. Went the same for the cabbage. Half a forkful. I thought well I won’t eat the meat as it was tasteless so I’ll dig into the veg. Plenty roasts but they weren’t crispy. I won’t be going for the Sun lunch again. My friend I must say had the rib of beef and he said it was delicious so maybe I’ll go for that next time. We will go back. Just won’t choose the pork. But I might not consider the Sun lunch cos I like my veg and there just wasn’t any. When I asked where my cauli was the waitress said if I wanted extra I’d have to order it. So I paid another £3 on top of my roast to get a decent veg. When it came it was overcooked and not much cheese. The staff are lovely though..

Four of us were greeted at the door and shown to a table. Very cosy atmosphere. I’ve personally eaten here for years but thought I’d bring my friends. Food did not disappoint. I had the sausage n mash. Lovely fat Butchers sausages - delicious. My friend had the Steak she said was gorgeous and plentiful. Other friend had Ox cheeks. Superb. Other friend had Fish pie. Was delicious. Maybe the peas a bit salty. I could see other tables with fish n chips n pie. Omg they looked so delicious. I’m going to try the Sun lunch. We had impeccable service. Nothing too much trouble.. well done The Bull. A very reasonably priced lovely establishment. Well worth a visit..

Honestly the best experience we've had in a pub that's new to us in a dog's age. It was Valentine's Day afternoon and we'd both been working out late and fancied some food and a bevvy. Everything was great - the food, the atmosphere, the food and the service. A really lovely local pub that's friendly and welcoming plus dog and kid-friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough.

A pleasant place, you need to book in advance, on weekends and holidays it is full. Fast service. The dishes are delicious, we tried the baked British cheese sharer (portion for two), an interesting combination of cheese, butter, caramelized onions and pickled vegetables, I recommend it. We also chose braised beef cheeks from our season specials - very soft meat, of course, cheeks, on a pillow of mashed potatoes and baked vegetables. And according to the standard, I try steaks where I see them on the menu, the usual standard British steak with fries)

We've had a really lovely lunch today, food very good and friendly service will come again and hopefully get to sit by lovely lig fire

Walked in at 19:45 on my own and the lady asked the chef if they had room for one he audibly said absolutely not no way I was quite rude to the girl. He complained that it was 19:45. I left straight away quite embarrassed. A real letdown the pub looks great and the food smells great. A shame about the chef.

Went with big party and all was very good indeed no issues and food and service were really good.

My second visit yesterday. Family lunch for mother’s 95th birthday so special occasion. Very disappointing. Waited nearly an hour for food. Everyone seemed to be waiting a long time and the place wasn’t busy with several empty tables. At no point were we updated for the delay, despite asking when our main course would be served. At no point throughout the meal was there any apology for the delay for main or dessert, just a garbled offer of free dessert because we waited so long, something that wasn’t really required as I had brought in a cake. My son’s grill was very average with a hard fried egg, burnt dry chicken. My grandsons steak was chewy. The only positives were the sea bass was good and excellent chips.also the staff sang happy birthday to mum. Under normal circumstances I would’ve sent at least two of our five meals back but it was a special occasion and my family asked me not to make a fuss. We didn’t get our 2nd jug of water despite asking and no one was watching the tables so you had to go to the bar if you wanted attention.

the third time I have booked for breakfast in six months only to receive a message hours before cancelling my booking. very disappointing, there is more reliable and cheaper locally

Been coming here for around 2 years with the family and we love it. Food is lovley, prices are very reasonable and the staff are brilliant.

We love it at The Bull, it’s a lovely dog walk away from us. We are always welcomed with a smile, as are our two Spaniels (they even get some Roast Beef). This is a friendly pub where we take family and friends for a drink & snacks. The garden in the Summer is perfect, as are the log fires inside in the winter. We also had my mum’s wake here. The staff could not have been more accommodating & respectful, we felt really looked after. The buffet food was also perfect.

Fantastic pub, staff always so friendly and a lovely pub to bring friends and family to. Our dogs Treacle and Crumble absolutely love it especially the roast beef they were treated to. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Came in this morning Friday 31st Jan at 9:20am for breakfast, website says open at 9am. Door open, we waited inside approximately 10 minutes before giving up, place was deserted, not a single member of staff seemed to be in the building. We tried calling out and ringing the phone to no avail. Can't comment of the food as we didn't get to try. Atmosphere was lovely, shame about the lack of service. I would have thought this was a bit of a security issue also.

Headed in as a walk in for lunch service. Lovely staff and fantastic food. I would suggest booking as we got lucky ahead of a few other walk-ins who missed out. The seabass was gorgeous as was the smothered chicken.

Third visit here, caught the 700 from East Preston after a walk from Rustington. Lasagne with pancetta very good, chicken burger could have been hotter, but loads of fries. Excellent beer as always - Tribute and Abbot Ale. Please sort out the heating as it was chilly in the restaurant, with many coat wearers. Great service from Cas & Annie.

No heating on even free standing heater was broken had to wait over an hour for food and had to remind staff twice we had ordered drinks and they were to busy talking and forgot 1 meal cold had to go back no fire exit door continually being opened and left open by un supervised children

Always enjoy my visit to the Bull Goring. It has a welcoming atmosphere, staff are efficient, friendly & helpful. Food is always good and reasonable in price with a variation of options They even put a happy birthday plaque on the table as it was my mum’s birthday Happy customer

We booked for Burns'night last night. They knew how many people had booked, and it was a set menu. But still, it took 1 hour and 40 mins to get our starter. The table behind complained about the time and got their food before us even though they arrived after us. There was no soup, and the crab salad was just a tin of mush on the plate with lots of oil. We asked for a drink that didn't come. Very short staffed and could see only two people in the kitchen. Lots of customers had dressed up gir the night. What a big letdown . I was so disappointed as i had arranged this for my family. We were not waiting any longer and left.

Best pub in the area by far. Staff are very welcoming & nothing's too much trouble. A traditional, real pub, it has a delightful, up market restaurant. The menu is excellent, they have a top notch chef whether it be for the restaurant or bar areas. Highly recommend. It's doggy friendly & kiddy friendly too.

Had a family birthday here, staff were so attentive, smart, friendly and polite, such a rare quality to find theses days. The food was amazing. We will be back soon to try a Sunday lunch... Can't wait. Thanku guys

Lovely warm atmosphere both in temperature and vibe . Excellent food , quality fresh tasting beers and wines , Bar staff very friendly, Landlord and Landlady very helpful .Overall a great traditional pub feel , we will be back very soon

Our Christmas Day was made even better by Niall, Heidi and the rest of the team at the Bull when they served us the perfect Christmas dinner. Everything was spot on, thank you!

The Bull, it’s a place where me and my partner love to go. Place is very inviting and beautifully decorated, it just adds to a good atmosphere. If it’s a hot summer day we enjoy a beautiful platter outside in the garden, in the winter time we get cozy by the fireplace with a stunning roast. The owners and staff can’t be more pleasant and lovely . 🤗

It was a impromptu visit while out with my mother. We were greeted by a very charming young called Liam who showed us to our table and was very informative about the menu. Once we had choosen which was no great feet with such a lovely menu. The food came out and there was loads and the food was lovely, we all enjoyed our meals very much. Great value and amazing service, will definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who asks. Great job all with big thanks to Liam once again.

Dinged a couple of stars as they'd run out of a couple of things from the menu and they seemed to be struggling with too few staff on that night, but overall a lovely evening.

WE HAD TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR! Food was ok but NOT AT ALL WORTH THE WAIT. The waiters were quite nice and gave us complimentary drinks to make up for the wait but overall NOT WORTH IT. JUST TO MAKE IT WORSE THE PRICES WERE ABSERD! DO NOT RECOMEND!

Beautiful atmospheric pub. Cozy and wonderfully decorated. Our waitress was an asset. Without her I think we may have been forgotten. I enjoyed my starter and main. The only thing I would say is that my main could have been hotter and considering we were the only table eating at the time it took a while to come out. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Disappointed with the quality of food and service. Pork Roast and Chicken duo were pre ordered. The pork turned up dry and the chicken so hard and chewy. The roast puddings were over cooked and tasted like crispy cardboard - dehydrated!!! As for service then I had to get up twice to go and grab the attention of one of the three waitresses who were busy chatting to eachother behind the bar! Obviously I did not leave a tip. Would I go there again? Sadly No.

Great meal and great pub! Had the Christmas menu and the vegan option, which some places don't do very well, but this was absolutely delicious - will definitely be back after Christmas.

The staff were friendly and attentive,but; 1.my turkey roast dinner had only one small slice of turkey.When I asked ,if I could have at least another slice ,the server said yes,but it was never forthcoming. 2.a vegetarian member of our group ordered a vegetarian Wellington and received a vegetarian pie(I.e not a Wellington)and it was fairly tasteless. We have been regular customers at The Bull for 5 years or so,but do not now feel inclined to return

We booked for a group of around 20 mainly retired friends for a Christmas meal. The pub advertises as being open to 11pm, so we pre-booked a taxi for that time. The food was good, but it became clear that by 10.15 the staff wanted rid of us. We were made to leave and were even made to wait outside for our taxi even though we explained we had tried to get it to come earlier. Being December it was cold. We questioned why we were being made to go when the pub sign above our head said open until 11pm. We were told quite rudely by the staff that they had permission to close when they wanted to. I won’t go back.

I went to my work Christmas party here last night and the food and service was incredible! The portion sizes were massive and the food was clearly freshly cooked and was absolutely delicious. The presentation was also perfect especially the desserts. Throughout the evening the staff were extremely attentive and very helpful. They always anticipated when the next drinks were needed and informed us on how long any food would be taking. Even though the pub was completely full, the atmosphere was perfect. It wasn't too loud or too warm and you didn't feel too packed in. It was incredibly cosy and decorated perfectly for Christmas. The change in the pub over the last two years is phenomenal and 100% down to the hard work of Heidi and her team. I can't wait to come again sometime soon!

Visited for my father's birthday and went with the festive menu... it was fantastic. The food was tasty, the service excellent (thanks Sophie!) and the Christmas atmosphere in full swing. Happy to recommend.

Had a lovely meal, the atmosphere was comfortable, and relaxed. The staff attentive, and pleasant. Food was delicious, and the courses perfectly managed. Special mention for the Tribute ale, which is easily one of the best pints of Tribute I've tasted. Someone clearly knows how to look after their ales.

First visit here for a few years, with my husband and mum. Vast improvement to food and interior. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious - the three of us really enjoyed our meals. Drinks reasonable. Definitely recommend - intend to eat here on a regular basis now!

We took a visiting friend here(we have been here several times before) A large party had just finished and the staff were busy clearing up but very kindly sat us so that we could have a drink and check the menu. We came here to Celebrate a birthday while trying their festive menu & we can't thank the lovely Carin the lady looking after us enough!! she thought of everything & when things were not quite right she put it right straight away without hesitation!! She made us feel very welcome & made sure we were enjoying our visit from start to finish. We don't normally tip but felt that this level of service had to be rewarded & could only wish all experiences were as special as she made it. Thanks again Carin we will be back for sure!!

Very slow service today but good still very good

Having just moved to Ferring, we've been to the Bull a few times now as its our local. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly. We've even had a deal for the breakfast one morning after a walk around Goring and Ferring. Really hoping the quality levels stay high, as so often these places don't seem to be able to keep it up. Chef and Brewer seem to be doing the right thing at The Bull as its always busy.

I’ve dined at The Bull a few times before, but after a recent visit, it’s clear they’ve really stepped up their game. The food was absolutely incredible and very reasonably priced. Despite being busy, the staff were attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

Lovely meal but service was slow. Felt like leaving before we had ordered. Had to ask for someone to come over and take our order and then ask again where our food was as it had been so long. The food was lovely and everyone was friendly. The pub is beautiful and clean.

Visited today for a business meeting. Location was great, inside was lovely. Everything was clean and bright, and the staff couldn't do enough to help me with GF choices for food. Over and above and very much appreciated. Lovely place, lovely people and we will definitely be back!

The 2nd time visiting food both times lovely. Just a long wait but to be fair they did say there was a 1/2 -45min delay on food. Will visit again as food and staff excellent.

I had mistakenly booked the incorrect date! The staff were so fab and understanding and found us a table straight away despite it being packed. The staff continued to be absolutely lovely and very professional. Would highly recommend…food is delicious and the whole atmosphere is lovely.

Great we went for the first time today. Our friends told us about the place. They said it was very good. Wrong. It was great. I had the Gammon . Wow one of the best ever tasted. We all eat very well. The service was great Niall and Heidi were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. For sweet I wanted the sticky toffee pudding but they only had it with cream or ice cream. I asked for custard. Niall said no problem. It came out . It was the best I have ever had . And the custard was perfection. Thank you both. Don’t miss this gem of a place if you are in the area. You won’t be disappointed.

The turkey & pork roast was extremely disappointing. Two small slices of poor quality meat, roast potatoes were dry and anemic, crackling lacked crispness, accompanied by swede and cabbage made a very insipid plate. The steak was acceptable but the seasonal salad was a garnish of rocket & a ribbon of cucumber. Staff were busy but no accompaniments were offered and no one checked that we were okay. If dad hadn’t been with us we would have walked away. Previous meals had been go so don’t know what’s gone wrong? When we had the opportunity to complain the waitress was extremely pleasant and compensated accordingly to which we were grateful.

This my local and is vibrant as an 'after work' tradesman pub on a Friday. Don't let this put you off as the garden is superb when the sun is out and the food and service is always well received. Well worth a visit.

Had a fabulous evening out with family. Friendly atmosphere, great food and great staff. Caris and Mollie served us and Nick cooked amazing meals. We were served straight away and made to feel very welcome. The place is very clean and has a real cost vibe. Definitely would recommend to friends and family. I think we have found our new place as so much to choose from on the menu. It all looks so good. And Caris and Mollie are great hosts.

We ended up at the Bull as the other place was full and I’m so glad we did! To start the customer service from our waitress, Louise was spot on, friendly, helpful and informative absolutely superb. The food was lovely cooked perfectly and plentiful. The decor is great I really can’t recommend this pub/restaurant highly enough, our first time eating there will definitely not be the last! 5 stars

Pub and Restaurant and surroundings very nice. Really good menu. Food quality was good too. But it was the staff that made this visit so good. Carris and Dan. Two people that knew how to do their job. The service was very efficient and friendly. It made our visit so enjoyable. The owners of this venue should be very proud of how good the service was. It is what makes all the difference.

We held my father's retirement "party" at Bull on 12 October. The whole thing went really well from the initial booking and organising the food we wanted to the super evening itself. The staff were really helpful- nothing was too much trouble. The food was plentiful and delicious- especially the hot bites and the dessert platter. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely location, fabulous food and wonderful staff.

the 4 of us popped in for a bit to eat. It was a week night, I ordered a couple of pints and a bottle of wine. After looking at the menu I went up to the bar to make inquiries about ordering food. I was told "we're not doing food now. A big table has come in and kitchen is too busy" It really would have been nice to be told this kitchen fiasco whilst we ordered drinks, as we then had to rush our drinks to go somewhere else

Food was amazing our second visit with in two weeks quite a hefty drive for us being in brighton but we'll worth the drive , staff on both occasions have been polite ,well presented and attentive. This time my partner and I had a wild boar scotch egg piping hot with a runny yolk and the sharing cheese platter is what made us return for main we had steak sandwich (cooked perfectly) and sausage and mash with was also top notch, I can't find a fault in this place and I am a man that likes to pick holes in things but I honestly can't. Well definitely be returning to sample more of the menu thank you

Visited for the first time today. From the second we walked in the mood was great ,lovely friendly welcome and staff .lovely and clean. Hands down the best camembert iv ever had .and even the main dishes were beautiful .love it !!! Defiantly will be back .
