Kitchen Bites very nice hot coffee nice food too .Warwick street art to look at today along Warwick street all so .friend had food .

I ordered at the counter and was charged £19 odd. I said that I'd calculated it as less than that, and the guy immediately responded with "how about £16.35?" (the right amount), without re-checking the till or anything. It really didn't feel like a genuine mistake, and he didn't apologise for his 'error', leaving me feeling it was deliberate. I won't go in there again and advise others against it - or at list check your bill carefully if you do.

Friendly staff lovely food would recommend to others. Wide choice of food and drinks. Good place to take disabled as easy access.

The coffee was nice. But the cafe had only just opened at 11am and was freezing cold. Hardly any staff appeared to be in the cafe and no other customers. There was no background music. So we sat alone in a cold, silent, empty room. The accessible toilet was out of order. There are no signs on the door about opening times or food hygiene ratings. I don't know if dogs are allowed in. (again no signs) When we left no staff were visible...

Lovely little cafe. The gent who served me was very friendly and made me feel welcome. Food was delicious.

Service was great, food came out, full English breakfast all cold apart from the hash browns, bacon tasted of chemicals as did the pure orange juice. Cheese and mushroom panini - cold and hardly any cheese at all. When mentioned to the lady behind the till she got chef and manager who then made it a scene which it did not need to be. Will not be visiting again.

First time visiting here since new management. Surprised to see it was completely dead inside whilst the cafe next door was packed! The cafe did smell a bit greasy, like they should keep the kitchen door shut and change their oil which was off putting but the staff serving was very friendly and seemed she had more than one job as she was taking calls for the manager as he didn't speak good English, but supplier calls shouldn't really be done in front of customers? Small menu, much smaller than the last menu but the food was good though, very good portion sizes. Drinks were nice but kids milkshakes not so, rltasted bad and overpriced. For £3.50+ per milkshake would have expected more than syrup and milk mixed together, maybe made with ice cream or a topping would suffice? Kids chose 2 of the 6 flavours to be told only 3 were available. Somewhat let down with the place, just a bit of tlc it would be better

Went in today with my mum for lunch but was turned away by the manager(I assumed he was the manager) who said sorry no waiters/waitresses so we turned round & went to the Thieves Kitchen pub opposite only to see a couple walk into the cafe but not get turned away & another couple walked in & not get turned away also there was a young girl serving from behind the counter from what I could see & when we went in there there was only the manager in there & nobody else & three men came out who I can only describe as the manager the chef & a friend.Used to like going in here as convenient for the toilet for my mum but think I will go elsewhere.

Not been here in some time, but was in today between meetings and they’ve spruced up the inside, it’s brighter and cleaner and the chairs are still super comfy and nicely placed. Although it was quiet when we went the waitress was happy and friendly and service was fast, and the food was cooked well and really tasty! Nice prices and obviously fresh! Although the waitress seemed new (I’m basing this on the fact she didn’t know how to make the milkshakes) she was eager and friendly. She took the time to chat without being OTT, but without making you feel like a number. All ok all a good trip out! The one downside was it was very quiet seen as it’s a lovely sunny September day and seemed busy in town! But with the “just breathe” waitress and her happy breezy attitude I can’t see that last long! Will definitely be back!

My family (8 people) visited Cafe Lounge this morning for breakfast and it was awful. There was noone else in the restaurant at the time. When the food came out for many of us it was cold. The last plates were bought out over an hour after we ordered. The plates of food themselves were not consistent with what was on the menu. In the end we asked for refunds and only paid for 3 meals only. With so many good breakfast restaurants in Worthing this place will suffer. Will never eat here again.

Had to wait nearly half an hour for three lukewarm breakfasts,over priced for what your getting and service was shoddy at best and waited ten minutes for drinks to be given to us . Shall not be going back.

I was here with a couple of friends. The staff are very friendly, the service is great. They brought out a small plate of complimentary anti pasti while we were chatting. Nice little touch

I came with my friends for my birthday. The service was nice and the food so delicious! I really recommend it.

Just happened to come across this new restaurant purely by chance! Had a friend visiting and was looking for somewhere nice to eat. Would definately recommend and return. The Customer Service was impeccable, the menu was vary varied and the food was delicious. A very nice touch is that they do not serve alcohol but taking your own is the perfect option and there is a Tesco just around the corner which the owner informed us of. They also will supply glasses for you.

Decided to try Cafe lounge as it has just started as a tapas restaurant and were not disappointed. Comfortable surroundings, great staff and Spanish food great. Will definitely be returning.

I wish it was a tapas bar with Spanish atmosphere, alas when we visited inside the cafe we were the only ones there, although a couple were on an outside table. The server was young and inexperienced. The orders when they eventually arrived, were overcooked, but at least they were plentiful. I hope for their sakes they will improve. I assume they have applied for drinks licence.

Loving all these new tapas bars popping up in Worthing!...tried this one today and was impressed,lovely marinated lamb,meatballs & Spanish ham. They are in the process of applying for a alcohol license. They just need to update the name & decor and they will have a good future in Worthing.

This has changed hands and is now a Tapas Restaurant. The opening times are different. Unable to tell you more. They did continue as before for a short while and service and food was good but not experienced the Spanish food.

i have recently visited cafe lounge with my friends for little treat and spent quality time at cafe. we were quite impressed with quality of food , drink and service. i thoroughly recommend place to visit and enjoy fresh homemade food.

Just been visiting some potential art galleries to exhibit my work in and needed a caffeine hit! Stopped by, Just for an Americano and it was a lovely large mug of very decent coffee! It was clean and the lady serving was very friendly and it was very relaxed. They were kind enough to take my flyers for my gallery as well.

Took over an hour for sandwiches to arrive after reminding the staff of our order three times. Not worth the wait. Bathroom is disgusting also. Just avoid this place please. They display a 5 food hygiene rating but on the government website there real rating is a 1! Awful ownership.

Used to really like this cafe, never understood why it wasn't busier. Seems to have changed hands and when I visited yesterday it was very different. Unfriendly person behind the counter, they finished a fairly lengthy conversation before passing the order to the kitchen, coffee wasn't hot and neither was the food when it arrived....which is a shame as it would have been quite good if it had been. No other customers there and staff disappeared for a chat in the kitchen and off shopping. I felt pretty uncomfortable so ate quickly and left.

I really wanted to like this place as it's indie and in a great location. But the service is shockingly poor. We asked for a chai latte and got a latte with syrup. When we complained the barrister just said it's a latte with syrup. Food quality is poor. The staff don't seem to have been trained in customer service or food hygiene. Soulless atmosphere. Disabled toilet had a notice saying out of order - this summer up the cafe! There are so many better cafes locally for a better experience. I won't be back

Nice clean premises with cheerful happy staff. We are here with grandchildren and food was very nice and reasonably priced. Cafe lounge is located within the shopping area near to the banks and five minutes from the major stores. We visited on a Saturday and the staff were young but this did not cause any problem. They were very helpful.

Good cup of coffee but not a lot of atmosphere. Need a refurbishment and the toilets need urgent attention

I just popped on for tea and cake, but wished I hadn't. The decor was tired, the staff uninterested. The pot of tea was a tea bag in a mug! It tasted ok, but thats hard ro get wrong. The cake was ok. I won't be going back.

Haven't been in here for some time and looks like it has changed hands. My 6 year old daughter wanted a cooked breakfast, which to be fair, she said was yummy. My husband and I ordered coffee. We drink a lot of coffee but this was very weak and not very warm. I then took my daughter to the upstairs toilet. The stairs and landing en route there were very grubby and the toilet itself was disgusting. The wallpaper was torn off in places, there was damp and dirt on the walls and the wall under the dryer was foul. There was no hot water tap at all, the arm off the water heater was missing and the base of the cold tap was caked in black grime. Had I been to the toilet first I would never have ordered coffee let alone food. I hope the staff have separate and cleaner toilets with hot water to wash their hands. I found the toilet unacceptable. The whole place needs a good clean and redecoration.

Took my mum, 3 year old daughter and 7 year old nephew to this cafe for some drinks. 2 older ladies on the table next to us objected to the kids laughing and constantly gave my daughter nasty looks and muttering 'for God sake. A waitress asked the ladies if there was a problem and she agreed with them quoting it's very understandable and not a place for children. With this I asked for my money back and left for a much more friendlier place. This establishment should have a sign on the door saying 'no kids or laughing allowed'.

Stopped for a quick lunch one Sunday afternoon. Service was efficient, the food arrived quite quickly and it was all ok, nothing outstanding but no complaints. Plenty of cakes were available and they were quite tasty. Worthing is full of coffee shops though and there are other and probably better options to try next time.

Our food from the specials board was indifferent (chicken wings and calamari) but the price was reasonable. Salad was pre-dressed with an unpleasant type of salad cream. Why not let customers choose? Coffee was slopped into the saucer with no offer of a clean one. Table napkins wrapped around the cutlery were wet for some reason. There is a long treck up sticky and very grubby stairs to the customer toilet. There was no toilet paper or holder on the day, door did not lock and the 'anaglypta' wallpaper on the walls was badly torn. One afternoon's hard work could improve the toilet facility.

Apart from the coffee being good I was able to take my dog in

Had a very nice coffee here and being in the position it's in is a lovely place to relax in the sun and people watch. Didn't have food so couldn't comment on this but got service with a smile. The only thing I would say is that I can't believe they haven't changed there outdoor seating! Most of which are old and broken. It's not a good look and it's one of the first things you notice. Come on, people need seats to sit on and I've just heard a women say she can't find one that's ok. That's very poor. Shame

Awful and expensive food. The staff seem to have just come off the customer resentment course and one of them seemed not to understand English.A soulless place, I've seen more life in a tramps vest. The toilets take you back to a Victorian era and were filthy. Don't go there.

I went here for a spot of lunch today with a friend. The food was lovely we had the chicken caesar salad and the cakes looked delicious. Staff were welcoming and pleasant. The downside to this was it was a warm day with people sitting outside and the seagulls were joining them as the staff were not clearing the tables quick enough. Also the customer toilet could do with a slight upgrade it's horrible.

First of all the coffee was good and the staff, although young, were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the rest of the experience was underwhelming. My wife's ham and cheese croissant looked like it had been stood on and the taste lived up to the presentation. My fried eggs on toast were ok but the toast was obviously just cheap white bread. To finish it off the toilet was pretty dirty. There are plenty of other cafes in Worthing so no need to come to this one.

The Cafe Lounge in Worthing was recommended by 'the wife' - what can I say more! So I had to try it. My order of a scone was driven by my eyes as it looked really good. The varied selection of cakes also looked terrific. The service was polite and I was promised a fresh scone from the kitchen and not one on show. The service was remarkably quick considering the number of people in the cafe. My coffee was served hot, exactly as I like it - full marks. The scone was served warm, with a selection of jam, cream and butter. My only disappointment was the scone looked nothing like the 'homemade' variety on display but more like those you could get from a supermarket. Will I come again? Yes. What would i order? Probable a slice of one of their cakes, or a sandwich which look really good.

Coffee was good but the coffee and walnut cake was slightly dry and therefore disappointing. Just over £18 for the four of us.

Service very slow and it it's just quite a bland place with no life...

We were getting rather wearm by the time wwe stopped for a Hot Chocolate (with marshmallows) and a coffee milkshake....oh and a steak ciabatta for a light lunch. Pleasant service which was also quick and both the drimks were good- hot and cold respectively and an excellent lunchtime treat -nice peice of steak in a light ciabatra roll and salad.We'll come again- thank you!

Visit this cafe regularly- the staff ate really friendly and the food is really good quality and they have a good selection. They do a great Latte! Often visit with friends for a chat or a late breakfast! Nice decor too!!

Popped in for a coffee and a snack.....Coffee was weak and tepid. We had to wait ages for a cheese scone that was doughy and again tepid and my husbands panni which was ok. A lot of staff standing around looking uninterested. One toilet for able guests at the top of a long flight of stairs which doesn't,t flush...Not a place to go if you want anything hot or in a hurry.....Maldoons which is next door is far superior and if it hadn,t been closed that's where we would have gone.

My fiancée and I came here for lunch today. She had the cheese and pickle sandwich & vanilla milkshake & I had the chilli beef melt ciabatta & white chocolate milkshake. We then had a gingerbread man and jumping bean chocolate cookie. Very nice indeed.

Appears to have been a change in management and what a disappointment. Was always buzzing but today only one table was occupied at 12.00 and yet it took 25 minutes to receive a toasted sandwich and the crisps served with it were just a few broken pieces. Also now serving a lot of chip meals making the cafe very smelly. Won't be returning.

I often meet my boyfriend here at the weekends for lunch in my lunch break. The sandwiches are lovely and the cakes are delicious. The owner is very friendly and makes us feel very welcome! It's a nice place to sit and have lunch

This is a great alternative to the big chain coffee shops. Personal friendly service in peaceful surroundings is much better than the noise and bustle. And great cups of coffee and well cooked food at sensible good value prices.

A very sad little cafe, the food which some of us managed to get was of a very poor quality, I can say that because two of ordered Jacket potatoes that never arrived, the staff seemed on a different planet, all in all we wish we had Walked on By

Not seen this place before so I gave it a try for a light lunch. The menu is very limited but then it is a coffee shop so fair enough. It's pricy £2.70 for a medium latte is above average and it was very strong - more like an expresso with milk. The staff were not only very pleasant but clearly trying hard. But the lay out is very odd. Mainly tables for two, no tables for 5 a large space in the middle, offers taken at the front and kitchen at the rear means staff are afraid up and down with food and clearing plates. The decor is almost as if whatever shop was here before had been kitted out as a café. Limited lighting, and very limited heating on a cold day didn't help. It's a shame because it is the type of place I want to like and the owner and staff were clearly trying to please. Maybe the menu needs a little more substance so you could come here for a decent light meal. The prices also need alining with meals. I wish it well. I'd love to come back one day and find it a roaring success.

Agree with comment below on the star rating pepole coming in after us getting there food before obviously forgot are order but instead of saying that made excuse even tho the table next to us had same not how you run a successful business

I've been to this cafe a couple of times with my elderly, wheelchair bound mother and the staff cannot do enough. On both occasions, the door was opened for me to save any struggle with the wheelchair, and as my sister visits with my mother too, mum is always greeted personally, almost as a friend, rather than a regular customer. Service always good, but try to avoid visiting around noon, as this cafe gets very busy. I've always found the food to be very good (highly recommend the chilli melt ciabatta) and reasonably priced. The only reason this is a 4 rather than 5 star review is it has to be said the loo could do with improvement... that said I'd highly recommend this splendid cafe, especially if you suffer from gluten intolerance as they can easily cater for you.

My other half and I thought we would try out this cafè for lunchtime, when we got in there it was busy which we thought must be good. We ordered our drinks while we waited for a table to be free so we sat on the sofa. When a table was free instead of the waiter coming over to us to let us know he decided to point at us until he got our attention and then pointed at the table which was very rude. Once we sat down we decided to order some food, my partner ordered a mini breakfast and I ordered a Tuna mayonnaise and sweetcorn wrap. While we waited we noticed one of the male waiters (the way he was dressed he may have been the shift leader ) was wearing sandals? Now I find that disturbing and unhygienic for a food environment, did not want to see that when eating. When our food arrived it looked nice, expect my partners breakfast didn't have bacon and when he asked the waitress looked confused and then another came out with it on a different plate. We weren't asked if we wanted sauces so had to get up and ask ourselves. And then when I tried my Tuna wrap the Tuna didn't taste right at all, it tasted old. I couldn't eat it and got a waitress over to find out why the Tuna tasted like this. She brought over the manager and he explained that the Tuna comes in a large tin and stored in the fridge. Now I don't want to think how long it sits there for, the manager didn't seem to care about our complaint so I got a refund for the meal and we left very disappointed.

I was in Worthing for a day out. As I was walking in town there was lots of café in the same street but I been in this café and ordered a full English breakfast it consists of 2 toast, 2 eggs, 2 hash, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, grilled tomato, mushrooms & beans and it was amazing . It was nicely presented and everything on plate was hot. I really had such a nice breakfast after a long time. I highly recommend this café for nice breakfast. Superb.

My wife and I are 'occasional breakfasters'. But we're really, really fussy. Since moving to Worthing (from Brighton) we had given up hope of finding somewhere to get a decent proper English breakfast. We have tried, I kid you not, everywhere in Worthing for that meal. It's a dish that many places offer and yet it is a hard meal to get right. Frankly, it's such a pain to cook and clear up after that we'd rather not do it ourselves - which is why we put such score on going out for brekky. I have to tell you that this restaurant utterly belies it's look - to look at it could be anyone of a hundred places. Indeed, in Worthing there's half a dozen places to eat within 50 yards of each other. The food here though is 100% top, top quality. They offer set menus - essentially small/large/veggie/etc - but have always been willing to change them to suit our requests. You know the sort of thing "hold the mushrooms, extra egg". Things that should be easy but some places make a fuss about. The coffee here is utterly splendid (the wife is a fanatic about coffee, so if she likes it that speaks volume) and all the usual beverages are up to snuff too.So......what about the staff? Well, although we are picky we may only get a chance to go out for breakfast once or twice a month, and in the busy summer months we are surely small beer to a busy place like this. However, we are routinely greeted like old friends, with a warm handshake and a smile. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and we are looked after like royalty.I am not a big fan of going on holiday; because it always takes the whole time to find a good place to eat.....and I've never, ever written a review for this site before. But if this helps you to choose somewhere to eat in Worthing, I guess I'll have done my good deed for the year. Wholeheartedly recommended....my only worry is that,matter this review, it'll get too busy!

Visited establishment on 28th August 2016 approx 13.30. Two members of staff behind the counter one stood next to me and was ignored by all three. Courtesy and customer service extremely poor. £2.75 for a tiny slice of cake that doesn't even taste that great, won't be going back. I would not award any stars but to post this comment had to award at least one.

Went to worthing for the day thought this place looked ok wow how wrong was i ordered 2 latte i am a big coffee drinker and as soon as the coffee came i knew it was not a latte but a cappo asked the girl wot it was she was quite rude and said it was a latte it was undrinkable really strong dark coffee not a latte then we heard the cook scraping the toast you could smell that it had burnt and when the breakfast came it really was the worst breakfast i had ever had burnt toast bacon so dry i could not chew it eggs rock hard really cant express how bad it was no one asked if every thing was ok and girls just kept looking at us and talking between there selfs staff need a few lessons in manners and the cook needs to learn how to cook and for that we had to pay nearly £20 i have written many reviews on here and this is the only bad one iv ever written but just had to express my feelings as very unhappy with this place

Good food, decent prices. Toilets filthy. Counted 6 staff standing around doing nothing, would be nice to order at the table rather than at the bar. Overall, bad service.

Have not had a meal here but have been in for sandwich and drink several times.I have always been satisfied with what I ordered and I like the fact that there is lots of space between tables which is not always the case in coffee shops.

Tried this place with my 4 year old. I'm afraid to say it didn't go too well.1. Food came out and nothing for my boy - we were told it hadn't been ordered 2. 10 minutes later, we got his food which was ok, just nuggets and chips, no side.3. Then they turned up with another nuggets and chips. God knows why4. Then my wife found a long black hair in her chilli jacket5. Then my wife pointed out that my vegetarian breakfast was by no means vegetarian!! Bacon and sausage on my plate. I hadn't noticed as I'm not a veggie, just wanted a healthy option.Staff seemed vacant and disorganised. The manager seemed keen to please but being British, we grinned and beared it after having words with the staff.We won't be back in afraid.

We have tried the majority of coffee shops in Worthing ( and there are quite a few ) this one has by far the best tasting Latte coffee and an experienced Barista , beats the other Cafe's who basically just sell milky coffee and call it a latte ,They also have a large selection of good quality food and home made cakes

We were wondering where to go for breakfast on a typical wet Sunday in the area, we walked past here and thought we'd give it a go. It's a very clean and warm cafe offering a great range of breakfasts at a good price. The breakfast was brilliant. Not at all greasy. Just what I needed! The staff were excellent. I will definitely be returning here. Definitely the best fry up I've ever had. See you again soon.

We always go here for our coffee when in Worthing. Run by a lovely group of chaps and we like to support this type of business. Great service always. But their Full English is the very best. Great price as well. Best place in town for breakfast.

We found this fab place a couple of months ago, it is our favourite place to have a breakfast. Extensive menu options , beautifully cooked with friendly service. The mini breakfast is more than adequate to set you up! Recommended.

My wife and I have visited this cafe on many occasions and have ever been let down by its coffee and variety of sandwiches on offer. Tasty food, good value and excellent service are the highlights of this cafe.

Visited Worthing to meet our daughter who works there to celebrate her dad's birthday. Wet, wild windy day but found an oasis of calm in the Cafe Lounge. Wonderful welcome and excellent service by all staff. Comprehensive menu and reasonable prices. Food nicely presented and was hot and tasty. Manager / owner was very friendly and chatted to our little granddaughter and congratulated grandad on his birthday. Will call in again next time we visit Worthing and our daughter has recommended to all her work colleagues. Thank you for lovely lunch.

I love it here, there are so many great places in Worthing but I feel comfortable here when I just want to chill out solo, the coffee is fabulous and the staff are super friendly,newspapers always on hand so I can catch up with the world and people watch. I rarely eat here though the food on offer always looks good. Would recommend for all ages, groups family etc

My friend and I had lunch here on Sunday, only because another place was closed. We were very glad as I had a mini breakfast (not so mini in my opinion) but was lovely and cooked well. My friend chose the Quiche which came with a homemade coleslaw and salad. We were both impressed with the freshly cooked and yum food. It was also nice to just choose and pay at the counter without extras like service charge. The staff were friendly too. I will definitely return when I'm next in Worthing. Coffee was delicious too!

I go most Saturday mornings to meet a friend and have a catchup. We like it here. It's a very pleasant place,nicely decorated,clean and a nice atmosphere created by the owners and thier staff. You choose what you want to drink and order food from the menu. Good choice and all freshly cooked. Lots of lovely cakes to choose from.They bring it to your table .Its all on the flat which is good for wheelchairs and people with mobility problems. Disabled toilet downstairs with another toilet up the stairs. Music plays in the background but it's not loud .
