Wonderful experience, but the chips are not crispy. 🤔😁

Arrived at 1 o'clock and ordered drinks and food. Drinks were served straight away and the food arrived about 20 minutes later. We all had Sunday roast and it was delicious. The beef was tender and tasty,the vegetables were also cooked well and tasty too. The gravy was absolutely delicious and overall the meal was by far the most enjoyable Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. Congratulations to the chef on cooking a delicious lunch 👍👍👍

Great ambience, food very tasty. I think it's good that they offer different menu options. This is a cheap way to eat. Children's menu is more than sufficient.

I've been to the beefeaters quite a few times now, each time good service, ( from Nicky) Good Food, and the steaks are always cooked perfectly. Also, there is very little gristle or fat, which I find annoying when we go to other restaurants.

Waitress was very good but could not say the same about the food. Fish & Chips and the Chicken with cheese and barbecue sauce was nice but the portions were too small. We had desserts of sticky toffee pudding that was nice but the apple and blackberry crumble was rubbish. The fruit was just a goo and the topping was some kind of dust sprinkled thinly on the top, a cheek to describe it as a crumble. The waitress listened to our complaint and took the pudding off the bill. Didn’t make us want to go back!

Lovely chilled atmosphere, and I sat out the garden in the sun 🌞 The food was lovely, I had a grilled chicken cob salad. The staff were lovely, but I did wait a while at the bar just to order drinks before eating. Whoever serves at the bar also does desserts, so you have to wait until they are finished. That's the only downside to my visit. Otherwise, it's lovely afternoon out.

Dreadful! Advertised as an all you can eat buffet breakfast, when we arrived we were kept waiting to be shown to our table for almost 10 mins. There was no cereal, or bread to toast at the sled service counter, we had to ask for croissants and cereal as these were also empty. There was one toaster which we had to wait for 15 mins to use. There was also no decaf coffee able at the machines. When it came to the hot food you had to choose what you wanted and it was served to you- if you had wanted more you would have died waiting . Service extremely poor, restaurant grubby, no food on continental cart. All you can eat buffet breakfast a joke it is served to you, no staff to be seen if you want extras. Will not be returning .

I have visited this restaurant few months ago and didn’t experienced good service however, my lasted visit I was served by a lovely lady called Jackie. She was wonderful. She was very helpful, welcoming and very efficient. Definitely come back just to see Jackie. Great employee.

Went here on Saturday and lucky enough to he able to have a table for 5 . Reasonably priced meals and an even better bargain with the childrens 3 courses being £1 with each adults meal. We all enjoyed our meals.Good value even at their normal price of £6.99 . Our waitress Nikki was amazing and couldn't do enough for us…..a real asset to your company . We’ll certainly return.

Great little Beefeater, clean friendly staff, not much selection of alcoholic drinks more of a selection would be great. We had a Sunday lunch which I enjoyed, my son and daughter in-law had steak and the granddaughter had chicken nuggets all meals looked and tasted good, more gravy would have been good but just ask for more and staff brought it straight away overall nice food friendly staff and nice place would definitely go back

*I have emailed numerous times now but not one reply from Beefeater. Appalling lack of response to customer feedback/complaints! 6 of us booked for breakfast today. What an awful experience, we were rushed from start to finish. We had to keep asking for items, no fruit juices, no plates, cereal bowls, so much continental items missing and not topped up. Cooked food came out, items missing from most plates. We were told we had to order straight away (they took the booking for 10.15, then told us kitchen closed 10.30 but closed earlier. ) No option to reorder any food. £66 wasted on poor service and very bad breakfast.

The only place I go for breakfast or a mixed grill in the evening. Staff are friendly and food is always nice

I've been here a few times with my family & always have a lovely meal. I would suggest they need to give a few more fries /chills with a meal. The food is great, I had rack of ribs with spicy mayo, it was good. I did have to ask for wet wipes for hands, something that I would've thought would be given out. Nice range of drinks and a great beer garden, lovely sitting outside with a drink after the meal. Worth a visit!!

Very busy on arrival, hadn't booked but we were able to have a table to order food in the bar. Good service, friendly staff. I had beef and ale pie but the gravy was very watery. Other than that no complaints 👌

Absolutely amazing time again! I came here a few weeks ago and had a fab time and also wrote a review. I came again today with my family for a quick nice meal before I headed back off to university and the service and food was the exact same as last time- if not better! We had a lovely server foe the evening, Jackie you were great! Thank you for being so lovely, attentive and accommodating. You made us all feel looked after and happy with our time! She checked in at all the right moments and couldn't have been anymore helpful! We will definitely be back again soon!

Can't really review the food due to us leaving before hand. We had a table booked and when we got there we were basically dismissed when we asked if we could be accommodated due to having 2 people with mobility issues to another more accessible table. The manager was so dismissive of the needs of the two individuals with us it was humiliating. He made us feel unwelcome and absolutely worthless in seconds of us starting a conversation with him.

Had breakfast, good service and good quality hot breakfast. Lost a star because a few of the continental items ran out at 9.30 and still hadn't been refilled by time breakfast ended at 11

Booked a table for 6 people at 10.15am sitting which was accepted. On arrival told we had 10 minutes to order as kitchen was closing. Could hear the chef telling the waitress we had to hurry up as he was shutting down. Coffee machine was broken no plates for toast had to use paper napkins. No milk or sugar for drink machine which was broken anyway. Had to ask for a bowl for cereal. Terrible service felt really unwelcome. Don't take late bookings if your not going to keep the condiments refilled. Still had to pay full price.

Excellent service from start to finish by a friendly bar lady with blonde hair (didn’t get her name) always attentive serving drinks and taking my food order. Didn’t manage to take photos of food but had, chicken wings for starters and a mixed grill. Faultless food and service and deserve 5 stars 🌟

We had a fab time at this restaurant this evening. The food was great as everyone cleared their plates and the service was amazing. Best part was the service from Nicki! She was fabulous, very attentive and very polite. Couldn’t have been any more accommodating! Definitely recommend this place!

We enjoyed two very tasty meals here over the Easter weekend. The food was well cooked and presented. We were served by Jackie and Sophia, who were both wonderfully welcoming, efficient and good-humoured, and certainly helped to make us feel at home and well looked-after. Our only niggle was the wine. We tried four different varieties and each felt rather underpowered. We like to stay in Wenvoe whenever we take a trip to Cardiff, and will look forward to eating here again in the future.

Not the best of meals to be honest, upon walking in were asked if we were with the meal deal which confused us, but were seated after waiting around 5-10 minutes. Menus were fine, a decent variety of items to choose from. Took our order drinks were extremely watered down and didnt taste as they should of, food was lukewarm and the items were not very hot nor cooked to what was asked for, no taste to the meal at all, wasnt best impressed with the overall service have been before many of times and have had a pleasant experience but recently it just isnt the same. Not impressed wont be visiting again unfortunately not the standard of what should be expected.

Booked a table for 5 people for Mother’s Day and night was ruined when it took over half hour to get a table that was pre reserved for 6pm. Awful organisation, wouldn’t recommend when busy.

Today being an international day as well as mother's day the service was very poor. Too many people booked in for meals with not enough staff to cover. A table booked for 6pm having to wait until 7.50 to have their meal brought to them is not hood enough. I feel let down and disappointed as we have used this facility on many other occasions without fault.

We love our Friday family gathering and it is make extra special by the lovely staff. Helen is brilliant and takes time out to chat with us whilst making sure we have everything we need.

Went this evening for a meal with my family and newborn baby. When seated we were told due to health and safety policies the pram could not go on the end of the table and had to go behind ( this made it very difficult to see the baby as he was tucked away) The toilets to change the baby were disgusting and dirty. The changing mat had dirty tissues and rubbish thrown on it with the floor covered in rubbish and dirt. Luckily I had cleaning wipes and my own changing mat as this was unacceptable to change a baby on. After this the food was brought out the fish was rubbery and cold as if it had been sat there all day, this is not what you expect for an £80 bill for 4 one course meals and 4 drinks. I would not recommend this restaurant to families or babies especially if you have a pram. Very disappointing experience for one the first times taking a baby out. If we had not already ordered drinks and food I would have left after seeing the toilets.

The Walston needs a manager that understands there is a Whole Bar area not just the "restaurant " I came to enjoy an afternoon with my son and have food. I waited some 10mins no exaggeration to be noticed. When I had the waitress notice she said the Manager was doing desserts and she couldn't serve. Pathetic. Then I "found" the manager he said I wont be 2secs 4 minutes he served me. Then we had to wait 7/8 minutes for our second course to come but asked for both to be served all together.

Just been here for a meal and the service is diabolical Waited over 5 mins to even be acknowledged while waiting for a table while there was 2 staff members there, eventually they said they would get a table ready. No hello no nothing. Took another 20 mins to take our order by a woman who didn’t have any manners just a bad attitude. Food took about 20 mins to arrive, small portions but not bad: After we finished we waited half an hour for them to come and clear the plates and we wanted to browse the desert menu. Still they didn’t come and so this just kept walking past. On the end we got up and paid and left. Didn’t even get offered to see the desert menu. Yet she went over to the same table 3 times in the time we were waiting!! Joke! Again no manners just a miserable woman. Needs new staff, appalling service 2 hours of my life I’ll never get back!

Staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, may of been new. Our food was on the hot plate for over 5 minutes before it was served. Roast lamb dinner ws OK The burger came with 6 thick cut chips and cost more than the roast! Had to wait ages for our drinks as well Plenty of space to park

First time going for breakfast,wish I didn't as it took so long for our cooked food to bring to table. Dirty coffee mugs where you was meant to have clean ones. Even when things was running low people had to asked a few times can it be filed up. Not enough people on to service breakfast. You can see you food waiting to be taken so eggs was hard and bacon was crisp. This was a birthday Buckfastleigh for me and my family. Very disappointed and won't be going back their for breakfast. Just couldn't cope with people who book and ones staying at premium Inn. Nothing was kept top up always had to asked, just disappointed.

Hardly no bread for toast, had to keep asking to order cooked breakfast, small portions, bacon that burnt, it couldn't be eaten, had to ask for cups and milk etc, it was disorganised and service very slow, when asked how much longer was the wait for our breakfast to come as we had been waiting for 45 mins! Was told it was because we were a large table, we were only a table of 5!! Certainly will not be visiting again

Food was as expected service was slow, we even had to ask for drinks to be served. We were served by three different servers. All were slow. Atmosphere wasn’t welcoming at all. The whole pub looked shabby and paintwork was not good. Would we go again? Unfortunately no

Went on Sunday 14th Jan about 4pm ordered vegy burger and a steak for husband, all fine until they brought out food waitress asked about sauces so I asked for mayo and barbecue sauce, I was told bbq sauce was an extra 95p!! How cheeky! So just had mayo which was the tiniest amount and steak had to be sent back as wasn't cooked properly.

Utter shambles of a pub/restaurant. Attached to a premier inn hotel and they close the bar before 10pm on both Friday and sat nights. Food also closed 1hr earlier than publicised. in all a very disappointing experience which will result in us never staying at the hotel again!!

The pub is lovely and staff did a great job. I did feel sorry for them having to go up and downstairs as the bar and restaurant are on split levels

Not a good dinner vegetables rock hard profiteroles caked in some sort of sugar waited 10 minutes for a drink whilst another party running back and for asking family what they want barman could have served 2 drinks whilst waiting when I looked he was staring into space no shape in there at all glad I didn't book a Christmas dinner! Appalling. Called in for a festive tipple and a light bite. No one serving at the bar so had to ask, long wait before anyone came. Ordered calamari, expected crispy squid rings. What I got was a very small bowl of battered bits, some so crispy they were hard others soggy & revolting especially as it was cold. Third visit, will be my last. AVOID

The service was excellent. Quick and efficient. However, the menu choices were very poor and the quality of the food was not very good at all. At an average of £18 per adult for a main meal, we'd have had a tastier and more filling meal from McDonalds for half the price. Disappointing from a previous family favourite.

One of the worse meal I've ever had.

Good food but very basic. No dressing or vegetables, just fries. Expensive relative to the likes of Harvester and Sizzler. Half chicken and half rack of ribs was actually 2 chicken portions with a half rack of ribs with a tub of barbecue sauce. Corn on cob accompanying was forlorn and poor. Mint dessert was a mixture of whole After 8 slices with icecream and chocolate sauce. Okay meal but would not go again. Better food deals elsewhere for the price. Service was courteous and helpful but slow.

Change to review. Got the order wrong and that was reflected in price. Took a while to sort out. Menu for vegetarian options is quite limited which us odd in this day and age. Food was done well, but chips slightly on easy side. Food was piping hot😊. Staff were pleasant. Blue light card as discount currently accepted with a good discount. I found the food mostly pricey personally. It was very quiet there. Nice inside but seats were all stained which I truly hate as I think of what is going to happen to my clothes when I sit down. Carpet grubby. Deco was quite dark and could do with brightening up. The toilet had tissue all over floor that had not been cleaned up so I'm guessing young children may have popped in there, kids love loo roll! I didn't see any hand sanitizer around sadly. Car park is free. You need to enter down a side road which is sign posted. Avaliable to stay next door as well.

Well £18.99 for a deconstructed salmon wellington, which had the following. Over cooked salmon 1 small tomatoe cut in half 3 tiny Brockley Puff pastry with nothing in it other than puff. Half a field of new potatoes. Extremely disappointed and the manager tried to convince me to pay the full price, which I refused and eventually left very hungry and dissatisfied.. Shall not ever step in to a beefeater ever again. Plus the layout was all over the place.

Lovely, comfy & cozy pub with a delicious menu! I love that although it's a 'Beef' place (it's in the name - Beefeater!) it has a menu that suits both carnivores and vegetarians. I also love that there is free parking right next to it, which was perfect for my Grandma who cannot walk very far and we needed something easily accessible with little walking. I came here to celebrate my 25th birthday with my family and a few friends and we had such a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the service was impecable. We were welcomed with kindness and our server (Jackie), was so sweet and attentive to our needs. Including storing my cake & helping us light it. The Baileys latte is a must-try for dessert! Also, for 7 people, the price was a really good deal. Good quality food at a good price - can't go wrong. Overall, my experience was very positive and I recommend giving it a try.

They do not attend without reservation, they give a bad service and are not at all friendly.

Lovely greeting when we walked through the door, however it went down from there! We received our drinks quickly but , even though there were hardly any people in the restaurant it to 20 minutes of waiting to have our order taken! We then waited nearly one hour for our food to arrive and that was after asking several times. When the food arrived it was lovely and our child meal excellent value

We had a festive Lunch, Food Bland at best, extra pigs in blankets was a joke £3.49 and 1 was very cold as it didn't even have a blanket on, gravy was like water, won't be going back, I would either save your money or find somewhere else.

Bar service was poor. Staff stood doing nothing, said "Someone will be with you in a minute", then served 5 minutes later. As for the food, my burger was dry and the bread roll was verging on stale. Let's just say, I won't be back in a hurry.

Went for a breakfast. Was nicely cooked and the continental spread was ample and varied. Would be nice to serve orange juice rather than a premixed tropical option. Plenty of seating and staff around to ask and assist consistently. I would go back for more for certain.

We went to the Walston Castle for Sunday lunch 15/10/2023. we were met by Matt shown our table and introduced to our server Faith. After having our drinks order taken we were given menu`s. our drinks arrived and Faith inquired as to whether we had any dietary or food allergies. Also a first for us once we ordered the Sunday lamb roast we were asked how we would like the lamb cooked, either pink or well done, we settled on pink. Faith brought the meals and asked if we needed our drinks refilled. Faith ensured throughout that we were happy with our food and kept our drinks topped up. This was done without encroaching on our privacy by being overbearing like we have had in other restaurant's. the meal was well presented and tasted fabulous, cooked to perfection. Thoughout our dinning experience we were not rushed and had time to enjoy the surroundings which were both warm and inviting. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Walston Castle to friend`s and relatives and will be returning again and again.

The decor was tired, chair seat fabric was badly stained, window blinds covered in thick dust. General effect was dingy and unappealing. Could do with an urgent re_vamp. Two staff members worked hard in difficult conditions.

Had the ribs and chicken combo and it was great, with the extra chicken wings. Sticky toffee pudding for desert. Others had the sirloin steak and we're very happy with it. Sevice a little slow at times as it was so busy, probably due to a period of 40% discount off main meals, which is the main reason we went there on this occassion

Our server was lovely. Young blond girl. Food was ok, however I wished I just turned around when I saw the beer garden. The beer garden had leftover plates with leftover food from the night before with cigarette ends. We arrived just before mid-day. When we were sat down inside, the place clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The floor was covered with crumbs and bits of food. Crumbs on our chair. Even the glass in the doors as you enter and exit were filthy. My husband even said it's absolutely stinking in here! The manager was stood chatting and could have been clearing the stinking tables outside. Shame as if this place was clean which is not much to ask, would be a lovely place. Will not be returning. Regards what the food is like you want to be sat in a clean looking restaurant.

Needs updating, the chairs absolute stink are so stained.. The staff aren't very welcoming The food is nice though, but twice I've been they have messed up our bill by not doing the deals so paid over. Won't be going back for a 3rd time

Food was very bland indeed. They had two very inexperienced waitresses who were were extremely hard-working. The manager was non existent, so the waitresses had to do everything themselves. Generally speaking it wasn't clean. Toilets were filthy. Accessibility wasn't good. If you want a space for a wheelchair on a table where you sit more than 4 people, well you can't. We had lunch on Sat 19th August.

Short staffed so couldn't be served , shame because it looked value for money
