Food took over 1 hrs to arrive both mixed grills were nothing like the one in the advert. The sausages and chips were hard the other meat had obviously been cooked and put under a warm it was very dry. The desert was also disappointing.

The food was to be fair. I think the pub is in need of more staff. I felt sorry for the limited amount of staff. The toilets are in dire need of umdating not one lock works. The windows need replacing as the wood is rotten . But apart from the above we will continue to use the pub.

Having ordered the mega mixed grill on arrival 25 minutes later it was put together like a 3 year old and I noticed some items were missing when I asked the lady at bar she said we’ve run out of mushrooms and tomatoes so why wasn’t I advised at the till chicken like cardboard i will never go there again worst meal ever

Had a great experience at the Colcot Arms!! Chef Callum smashed it. Wish I could have brought some food home for my dog, Trev, but I had to see it all off, sorry Trev. Dogs gutted now. I'll be coming back that's for sure. Grabbed a 4 pack of John Smiths on the way home to top it all off, happy days.

We booked 2 days previously for 14 people, email came with confirmation, attended on the booked date at 18.45 8 adults, 6 children, ( all hungry) gave my details to the staff, to be told my booking was not being honoured and we would not be able to eat there, no explanation, their attitude was appalling, they did not give a hoot, just stood with her hands on her hips not concerned at all we were 14 people expecting to have a family evening, we left total embarrassed,humiliated there were other people in the bar who basically witnessed a very rude staff member telling us we would not be getting served, I have complained but their response was effortless, sizzling pubs total disappointment will never enter 1 again

Recently went to the Colcot with a large group. Great food at great prices. Cocktails are lovely! Fantastic atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend as a great place to eat or drink.

Hats off to Chef Callum and the team, thoroughly enjoyed the Laying it on Chick burger, blew my socks off! Kids menu is great value, my boy scoffed all of his chicken dippers in seconds!

Lovely family friendly venue, great atmosphere in the beer garden when the sun is out! Thanks Chef Callum for a fantastic family meal once again. High recommend the lasagne!

First time to this pub as I was passing and fancied some food and a pint. I was served by a wonderful woman called Sam very friendly and didn’t once see the smile go off her face I can see she enjoys her job. I’d have her working in my pub in a shot! My food was 10/10 steak cooked to perfection (I’m fussy with my steak) larger tasted 10/10 staff are 10/10 I will be back not just for Sam but this pub is great. Hats off to the owner

Sam what a pleasure made our visit very accommodating and was very helpful. Food was lovely cheap and cheerful. Definitely be returning.

First time at this pub and it was a great experience. I was served by a lovely women called Sam and she was most helpful always had a smile on her face. My food was outstanding steak cooked to perfection and my beer was like it came from a fresh cleaned line I will be back not just to be served by sam but to enjoy another pint and meal

Called in (again!) for food with parents on Saturday. Staff always friendly and helpful, food is great (love the new topped chips!), good selection of drinks and everything is reasonably priced. Nothing to complain about, really! My dad's fave tipple wasn't available that day, but he was happy with an alternative they did have. My mum had a burger and it was way too much for her, but she loved it. I had a greek wrap thing (?) which was lovely. Call in here quite often, never disappointed!

Can't beat the Colcot🙌. Went there yesterday and impressed by the staff and dog-friendly atmosphere. Our springer Etien is quite lively but was on his best behaviour thanks to front of house. I wanted to finish my steak but it was so big i couldn't - another bonus for Etien! Compliments to the the chef - Calum? The Colcot has a great menu, great team and great vibe. Well-deserved 5 stars.

Called in here Saturday for the first time… great food, great atmosphere and lovely staff especially the waitress Samantha who was very polite 😊 would definitely come again!

Don't come up to the colcot arms for food often but I did on Saturday and the food was lovely and the service was incredible the lady who served as was called sam, very kind and well mannered. Made us feel comfortable. Will be returning.

Had to visit Smithy's local that appears in "Gavin & Stacey". We didn't go in so can't really comment on the service, atmosphere or food. Shame, but we were pushed for time as we also planned to visit Gwen's home,Mick & Pam's home, Bryns house & Nessas slots on the seafront. Fun couple of hours. Didn't have food but the food going out from the kitchen looked and smelled gorgeous. Only downside was a table next to us said it took over an hour for food to arrive. Service was slow but incredibly busy and friendly staff made this passable. We attended on an evening where a band was playing and the atmosphere was simply infectious. Smiles, laughing, dancing and singing along made it a fantastic evening. Table service for our drinks was efficient and fair priced. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Not the greatest of places, the staff have no customer care, can't tell you that they have run out of garlic bread and put chips on your plate instead without explanation. No sauces, not enough staff behind the bar when busy and they all look fed up and over worked.

Needs a good clean .food has gone downhill.i had to send my steak back.it was full of grissel.wont be going back.was allways a regular

Came here for dinner , it was very busy and also very hot day food was excellent we sat at table 10 .Hubby had steak I had steak and chicken .Been here quite a few times now value for money and staff always friendly .Thankyou to the chef not a easy job in this heat.

Unfortunately my food came out burnt. I had to send it back and get a refund. Very disappointing as it was my birthday. The place seemed short staffed I felt sorry for the waitress. The prawn starter was lovely though.

Had a family meal in the beer garden & there quite a few of us. Food was very good, price was good with lots of diffrent deals on (children eat for £1 with paying adult meal) Atmosphere was enjoyable & the staff were very friendly. Hope they keep this chef

From door to table to bar a complete warm and welcoming attitude and experience across all staff and the food was beyond sensational, had I not been made to feel satisfyingly full I’d have happily had a second serving. The best thing to note is that when they check in on you and your meal it doesn’t feel like the usual customer service procedure you get with most establishments, you can feel the genuine devotion they have to the standards of their food and service.

Long story short after a polite request asking how long for my little one's food the server called me a stupid fat *****. Which she then brazenly admitted - All of which we can prove as we have it recorded on video. The managers then allowed her to continue on her job as if nothing happened!

Not mutch left on the menu to choose from, but what they did have was nice , will be going, Hope they have a full menu next time

Absolutely ruined my birthday meal - One of the employees Becca called.my sister a stupid b**** under her breath after a polite request was made. Becca then justified herself that she said this as shes in a ranting mood. Becca then continued whilst we were leaving to stomp back and forth muttering things in front of management. Whilst we were refunded I feel this has been handled extremely poorly by the management present as they continued to allow her to pace and mutter to a point it was quite confrontational. It's a shame only photos can be posted here as the video speaks for itself.

Although we have been a few times we have found our food would have been a lot nicer if served on hot plates and not cold ones as you have to eat quicker so it doesn’t get cold ( I would never serve hot food on cold plates ) Perhaps this is something you can rectify, as it doesn’t take much effort to heat a plate.

Stopped off in here friday for work lunch with 2 colleagues. Service was terrible from staff behind bar and waitress. Ordered small mixed grill, only thing edible was sausage, 5 oz gammon was tiny, steak was over cooked and chewy and chicken breast was more like a chickens foot. Horrendous and worst meal I've had for long time. With soft drink worst 14 pound ever spent. Will defo not be eating here again. Also colleagues food was horrible and the burger was plain and no taste. Stay away

I deleted my original review as it only mentioned my wife and I. Usually it is just the two of us, who frequent the establishment, but this time there was six of us, a family. We range from 16 years old to an excess of 70 years old. I can only say that we all enjoyed it and we would all recommend it. We had decided to try the Christmas day lunch as previous attempts in other local establishments had let us down so badly. This lunch was offered at a very good price, the food was plentiful, and more importantly, well prepared and very tasty. Full marks to the full team! Tanya at front of house was exceptional and I believe that Vicky and Dave in the kitchen prepared a fantastic meal - almost too much to eat. Should they decide to do this again next year I can assure you that we will be back ! It was an enjoyable lunch, and there is no way that we can fault the service, the front of house ran everything so smoothly. Well done to the Colcott Arms on this occasion

Not great food .greasy mushrooms for starters, Service was shoddy . Hardly helped when asking to add another person . Tables took a while to be cleared, when we had clearly finished. Overcharged by £3 . Mens toilets dirty tiles need a good clean.

We had a great meal, we did get a table would recommend to book, does get busy. Alcohol is not cheap the food is good will definitely go again.

Apart from the steak the mushroom onions etc could be cooked instead of being just put onto a none sizzling plate
