Amazing service ,highly recommended, went in with the my family for drinks after a walk over the island quick service, would definitely be coming back

Came down for some lunch with my partner and the food was lovely and came out quick. So good for the price, my waitress Paige was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend

Popped in for a quick bite and a drink. Ordered on the app for ease and speed and boy, was it quick in total 30 minutes from start to finish and enough time to do a review better mention the staff Cal my drink & micky served my food and checked back to see if all was OK. Special thanks to the chef Lee hot food served quickly and edable green peas 10/10

When we went there was a singer in the adjacent bar he was very good.

Went for sport but only one channel at a time so no multiple games. Staff didn't care so wouldn't recommend for sports.

Had great hot food, worth your money, such a great option for kids especially being so close to the pleasure beach

Me and my two kids initially went in to rob the place but after two cracking burgers , strawberry’s and waffles and the hospitality of Wendy and Emily we decided to just shoot our nerf guns out in the play area . Thanks all . We will return ! Billy(5) still said he’s going to come back and rob the place. So watch out !!!! I’ll just be back for the Stella .

Mickey was a absolute star and is a lovely lady, chose to come here with the family and was well worth it because of her, we had some missing scampi but mickey sorted it out straight away and she was lovely about it 10/10 if mickey is serving you 7/10 if not.

Ordered a roast dinner with a beer. Then I was told they don't have that beer here (but it's on their menu) 🤦🏻‍♂️ Then they told me they didn't have any Yorkshire puddings left for the roast dinner. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ONE HOUR later, we were served the dinner 😡 and it didn't seem especially busy. The food was good though, but the wait times aren't worth it. The building is quite run down and in desperate need of a refurb, wallpaper hanging off all over the place and the bathrooms were appalling. I'd give it a miss if I were you.

I ate here today, i think there was some technical issues ordering food using the app/online as i was charged 2 times… however the staff at the bar were helpful in reassuring me that one of the payments will go back into my account by tomorrow. Loses 2 stars however as the steak i ordered, I asked for medium rare which later arrived near well done and my friends food arrived 20+ minutes after I finished mine.

Great visit. Food was good. Service was great. Michelle was our server and she was so lovely.

Whilst I appreciate that that the food is reasonably priced I feel there's a lot of room for improvement. The people serving us were very kind and professional however we weren't happy with the food. My burger was burnt, onions definitely weren't sautéed (menu said it would be), my friends' steaks were well done as opposed to medium-rare. Neither one of us have actually enjoyed our food which is a real shame. Also no one came to check if everything was OK with the food and we waited quite a long time before being served. I'm only giving feedback because I feel it's important for management to realise they need to improve the service otherwise people will stop coming.

Booked a table last Friday night, waited at the bar for 15 minutes before getting served, just getting ignored by the bar staff, ordered food eventually the food was poor standard and not edible, asked the staff to box it up so I could take it home for my dog. Will highly recommend no one should spend good money in this place, disgusting

Great location by the sea! Trying different parts of the menu, the Quadzilla burger is a favourite, followed by the steak and ale pie and the full Monty mix grill, along with a great selection of drinks on draft, and plenty of TV’s to watch the Sports.

Visited today for the new menu launch, was served by Wendy, she was very helpful, could not do enough for you. I had the new cheeseburger chilli dipper and it was very nice, will definitely have it again.

Extremely good value for your money and especially with their deals( please be aware that you can’t use Bluelight discount card on the deals). Will return again and again. Very friendly staff and can’t help you enough.

Came for fathers day and the Sunday lunch smelt lovely, ordered it and honestly I won't be coming again! Was not nice at all! Quite disappointed.

Food was great, and arrived in a timely manner. Order d a wide variety of dishes that satisfied everyone at the table. And have gotten the fish (sea bass and salmon) twice and have not been disappointed either time. Only critique I would give is having items out on display that are not available for sale at the till. Overall great experience!

Mixed grill was ok dessert was massive. Ideal location for the beach and train station too. Could do with new chairs and cleaner tables though

Been twice and had a nice time. Very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices on food and drink and good quality food. It's rare I eat out these days and feel satisfied. Many pubs and restaurants have gone downhill. Will be visiting again. Decent sized car park also.

Food came out quickly and service was great. Table was reserved and change made to number of guests without fuss. Only 2 front of house staff very busy and they coped very well. Latte was forgotten was was resolved quickly without fuss. Will visit again

Always good food with reasonable wiat times at busy periods

The food didn't have what it said on the menu the burger meal had things missing and the horse shoe dessert was a let down as it shows it with strawberry and they wasn't with it so a let down

We had meals my gammon was not cooked it was raw inside. And my neighbour had wraps which is salad was black and gone off

Went as group of 5 friends, the sea bass was lovely as was the chicken parmigiano all served quickly , we all had the sticky toffee and bourbon pudding with lashings of custard, clean plates all around, great.

Nice pub to be fair. Big ol place and nice atmosphere. Food was quick and chips and burgers was hot. Was probably the best burger I’ve had from a hungry horse and I travel around for work. There was even a choir in singing they even invited me to sing as I left, no one needs that.

Jobs worth refused to sell a 9oz steak with onions and mushrooms instead of an 8oz steak which he had run out of, either in a made up combo meal or a 9oz steak meal. No cheese available at 6pm on a Sunday! Apparently the system wouldn't let him do it! Pathetic! After 3 attempts to order a steak meal with toppings we gave up and left. Rediculous. Their loss, lack of flexibility and common sense lost them a customer. Had a lovely meal up the road in the Colcot Arms instead!

Food was amazing, Louis behind the bar was very friendly and approachable.

Carly refused to serve me when trying to order food and let people cut in front. I politely asked if I could order my food and she said she was too busy too serve, which is the whole point of her even being employed there. Other staff were lovely but sadly Carly was extremely rude and unhygienic since she had rust over her teeth.

Portion sizes are very poor for the price you pay for the food. Nearly £4 for cheesy chips and this is the portion you get.

Once again the food was disgusting...every thing was overcooked and dry. How can you possibly serve food that was obviously burnt. We will not eat there again, the only saving grace is the young barman and his co worker.

My dad reserved a table for us both today (30th March 2024 on a Saturday lunchtime) because we decided to eat there on our way to Barry Island. The pub wasn’t as busy as I thought it would be upon arrival. Although our reserved table was originally by a big table with a large family with young children on it, my dad asked if we could sit somewhere quieter and a member of bar staff kindly led us to a designated area for over 18s, which was mostly quieter than the main part of the pub. The music wasn’t too intrusive. I liked the decor of the pub including pictures of Barry Island. I went to the bar to see if I could obtain an NGCI (no gluten-containing ingredients) menu but there was nobody at the bar at that time. When my dad went to that bar, the bar staff who was finally there said I could scan the QR code in the main menu for the NGCI one. I wanted Dr. Pepper Zero with a cherry shot to drink but when my dad brought our drinks to our table, he told me there was no Dr. Pepper Zero, so he ordered me Coca-Cola Zero with the cherry shot instead. I couldn’t quite taste the cherry shot in my drink. My dad was pleased that he could use his Blue Light Card discount code to get 20% off our meals, even on a Saturday lunchtime. My dad ordered the Full Monty mixed grill and I ordered the Pick and Mix chicken skewers sizzler with jacket potato, salad and barbecue sauce. The chicken in both our meals was pleasantly tender, my side salad was fresh and my barbecue sauce was good but my jacket potato didn’t have the crispy skin I was expecting. There were also some tough bits in the onion and pepper mixture. My dad also enjoyed the sausages in his Full Monty, but he found his steak hard to cut even though he asked for it to be cooked rare. Despite the friendliness of the bar staff, the service was rather slow. Overall, despite the slow and somewhat inattentive service and the slight disappointments of our food, my dad and I liked our food for the most part and the quieter atmosphere of the over 18s area. 4/5.

It seemed like one woman was doing everything. She was at the bar and told us where our table was, she took our order. Brought us our food, cleared our plates and I also saw her cleaning up after a bunch of messy kids. She was an asset to your establishment but I don't know her name (Sat 9th March 12pm) Food was quick and hot. The only thing that let it down is the music was too loud as there was football commentary on too and it was overwhelming. Would definitely come back though

Visited on 4th March. They advertise offers for Grill Monday. Went to order a steak and two mixed grills to be told. No Steaks, no pineapple, no eggs available. Literally went through the menu until I could find something. No scampi. No milk, so no tea, coffee. What's the point of being open on Grill Monday when you have no Grill meals available? Ended up with two tiny chunks of chicken in a chicken new yorker. On the plus side the staff were apologetic and the waiter guy was very polite and friendly considering the amount of apologising he had to do to all the customers.

So much of the menu not available. Friendly staff but no food to serve. Spent 30 mins trying to order for my family of 6 to be told each time that something wasn't available. We gave up in the end and left hungry.

Visited here today with husband and granddaughter. Service and food was excellent. Lots to choose from also. Very reasonably priced. Wendy I think that was her name went above and beyond and couldn’t be more helpful. Will be visiting again soon. Highly recommend this pub

Nice easy place to go, shared a mixed grill with my wife, which was excellently cooked all the meat was lovely and juicy so good value.

We've visited the ship on many occasions, as a family, with friends, sometimes as a couple and every time without fail the service is outstanding! The food and drinks are competitively priced and always excellent. The team at the ship are all without exception amazing! Nothing is ever too much trouble and you are always afforded a warm welcome.

All the food was nice , but we had to wait an hour for our meals, while the rest eat there's. Will go back though as the food was nice
