Very clean and good decor. Friendly and efficient. Good choice of food and drink. Very nice food.

Poor quality food obviously out of the freezer. Overcooked veggies. White bread from the 1960s. Steak pie with soggy pastry - all pre cooked frozen. We won't be coming back!

Stopped for a quick electric charge for car (on way back from Dorset) and popped into The Chalkhill Blue. Nothing was too much for them, and the atmosphere was great! Happy families, couples, singles, children skipping in…etc Have charged and eaten there once before - this time just got chips (which were carefully wrapped in foil so we could eat in the car - due to the dog) - although she’d have been welcome to go in. Staff amazing- especially lady on the door- music uplifting- decor welcoming. Highly recommend ❤️

Had the sea bass earlier. I'm now doubled over in pain. Not sure whether it was off or not cooked properly. Sorry but I would never visit this establishment again. Completely ruined my easter holiday.

A family meal with my son's, husband and parents for my dad's 75th. I asked for the table to be decorated and it was, a real surprise. The service was great, we had a lovely time and lots of choice on the menu. The only negatives and I am being picky, is that there was no camembert and my chicken and chorizo skewer had hardly any chicken or chorizo was a real shame

Food was amazing. Well presented, tasty and hot. Young lady who served us (sorry didn't get your name, you have dark hair with green in it, I complimented you as it was lovely) was very attentive, polite and pleasure to talk to. Only negative was the ladies toilets smelt very bad, not sure if there is a plumbing issue there

This is a great value for money eatery but it can be hit and miss which is why I give it an honest 3 stars. Some days it's great, other days disappointing. Which is a shame. It is looking a bit dated now and things such as outside benches and seating inside do need updating. It just needs that little extra attention to detail and it would be a hit every time.

We have been to the Chalkhill Blue every Wednesday night for the last 2 years and have never been disappointed! Food is great, staff are friendly and the quiz every Wednesday is always a hit! Definitely a place to go if you’re in the area!

I love coming to chalkhill blue. The new food menu is brilliant & food is unbelievably delicious. So comfortable there & the staff are super friendly and very welcoming. I absolutely love coming here every week for the quiz and coming for brilliant food with friends is always a good way to spend time with people.

The food was enjoyable, good portion sizes for the price. The menu has changed since our last visit, less vegan options which was disappointing. There were some lights not working or flickering over the table we were seated at.

We booked short noticed (within 15 minutes) when we turned up it was very busy, but we was still seen quickly, very friendly staff. They was short staffed, run of there feet but still smiling and very quick food service, it was very nice food would come again

The breakfast was fantastic! The chef went over and above to put in a brilliant spread but what really was very much appreciated is that the team opened early for us and provide breakfast which isn’t something they normally do! So thank you to an awesome team and for catering for our AGM. You guys rock!

We love coming to Chalkhill Blue in Andover. It is always lovely and clean. The staff are so lovely. They work extremely hard as it is always busy but nothing Is ever to much trouble. The food always arrives on time and is always excellent. A big 'Thank you" to all the staff.

Excellent steaks and a Biscoff Salted Caramel Sundae that will blow your little cotton sockies off. A little quiet in terms of atmosphere - but trust me - THAT is a good thing and a rarity. Great staff on hand too.

My first ever visit here and I found it a pleasant experience. I like the way it’s tucked away and feels quite secluded, even though it is close to so many busy roads. The staff were friendly and helpful. Service was slow, but then they were super busy, as it was the Saturday before Mother’s Day. We were aware we were going to have to be patient. The staff were busy serving and taking orders the whole time we were there. The food went down well, but portion sizes, like most eateries are down and we understand it’s about businesses surviving, plus rising bills, so that was understood. Food was hot and cooked well. Puddings were delicious. A lovely family gathering to be fair and a welcoming atmosphere.

The food was awful I couldn't eat it, I expected more for the price that they charge. We were a party of 5 and no one was 100% happy with the food. We had a code for 30% off which was valid but they said we couldn't use it, so not only was the food really bad i had to pay full price. The service wasn't great no one smiled and wasn't actually clear who the workers were. It was a awful experience I will never go back.

Cannot thank Daniel and Tracey enough for their amazing hospitality. A couple of weeks ago they went above and beyond to ensure our 50 guests were incredibly well looked after at our daughter's christening. The food was perfect and the service was equally top class. Highly recommended!

We had a very enjoyable lunch with my elderly parents. A party of four we were able to get a table as a walk in. With limited mobility Elaine was mindful of this. The food was to a very good standard delivers in a reasonable timeframe and was fairly priced. Elaine and her colleagues delivered a very good level of service and we would certainly return.

Staff are always very friendly and helpful, hence 3stars. But... I chose the chicken and chorizo flatbread. Poor value, 3 small pieces of chicken on 1 skewer, i don't even remember eating any chorizo. Basically a load of carbs.. flatbread and fries, plus some salad for 15.95. Even with 30% off it felt overpriced. Disappointing

We had very nice mid-week meals here. The atmosphere was nice, not too busy, but not quiet or stale and the setting was all very nice, clean and tables available. We had the whitebait and sticky chicken starters, with a scampi and pie and mash for main. We were served by Lydia, who was confident, polite, knowledgeable and very attentive. She was very helpful, making our choices and decisions easy. The food was all very nice, less the mash potato, which looked like it had been sitting a while in a pot or under a heat lamp, but I was hungry and couldn't be bothered with sending it back and waiting for another meal, and my colleague was already eating too. It was a very nice visit and I'd certainly go again.

Entered and it took a while to be greeted. Table was good, took ages to be offered drinks. Food also took a while. Sticky chicken recipe seems to have changed which was disappointing. Issues with the card machine when paying. Ordered an espresso which took ages to arrive and was so cool the sugar didn't dissolve. Staff were warm and friendly and very good.

Overall a fairly nice place to eat and the food is nice however; the standard of the staff is disappointing. From poor personal hygiene to lack of female professional dress code and dirty kitchen cloths to bring out food. some food not available either. That said the customer service was spot on, helpful and friendly 👌

Unfortunately our glasses were extremely cloudy. Either new glasses are required or salt in the the dishwasher. Food was really good, however took over 2 hours to clear out mains and order dessert. Being heavily pregnant, I was definitely getting uncomfortable. I asked for the dessert to be taken away (as we ordered off the 3 course meal and fed up of sitting) but could only offer it to be in tin foil which was fine, we'd just not have the ice cream. I immediately asked to pay but to my disappointment the dessert came on a plate and not takeaway as I'd requested. A real shame as the food was lovely.

We stopped in for something to eat after a day out in Andover while visiting from Wales. Tracey welcomed us in and as a family of five we were seated comfortably. There was a great selection of drinks at the bar and I was served a perfect pint of cold Estrella. There was a varied menu, but the staff made some personal amendments in line with our tastes. The food delivered was great and the portions were generous. The five of us left satisfied and I would recommend the chalk hill blue to anyone, we had a great meal in a great pub Thanks very much to all in the pub who made our visit a great one 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and checked regularly to make sure we were happy with everything. They even brought water and treats for our 2 dogs.

Terrible service, I had to get my own menu, I had to order my food via the app after sitting for 20 minutes waiting for a waitress. I recieved my food fairly quickly but was then left with an empty plate for 35 minutes at which time I requested a refund for my dessert and left. TERRIBLE!!

It was incredible. Went with my 9 year old boy. We went for a nice meal out. Honestly they were amazing. Not only the service but the way they treated my little boy. They are very family friendly and incredibly welcoming. Honestly a hidden gem in Andover. Never been here before today but certainly won’t be a stranger after this visit

Myself and partner came here on Valentines Day. When we arrived we had a warm and friendly welcome. We were shown to our table which was decorated with candles, fresh rose and petals on the table. We went for the set menu which looked and tasted amazing the service for spot on. Friendly but not intrusive. Our waitress and another lady (I think the manager) were caring and professional. We will return soon.

A truly friendly atmosphere with the friendliest staff I’ve ever come across in a busy setting like this. Nothing is ever too much for the staff that work tirelessly to please. We received recommendations on dishes from the new menu, didn’t wait long at all for the food and it met expectations. This is a really busy, bustling place with fantastic staff, food and drink at reasonable prices

Brought my family here after a long day out. We hadn't booked which was not a problem. We got shown to a table. We had several options for ordering either by the app or coming to the bar. We ordered via the app as we were feeling lazy. Our drinks we brought to the table very quickly. Our food then arrived a short time after which was hot and tasty also well presented.

Whilst the service was a little slow (restaurant wasn’t full either!), the QR Code ordering service was good as were the friendly staff.

Regularly attend the quiz night as well as coming for family meals as often as our finances allow. We have had some discrepancies with a few of the more recently employed staff members but the management we have spoken to about our issues have always been professional & understanding, but rightfully frustrated. We will continue to support the pub, however the recent menu changes are also disappointing…especially the cheesey garlic bread!!!!

Booked a table for the weekly quiz. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, all staff are friendly and approachable. Ordered chips and garlic bread and Elaine came over and asked how everything was and even asked how our day had been.

We’d both been away with work and grandkids, thought a lovely, local meal out would be great?, how wrong could you be? Booking was easy and time slot available, great. Arrived at the pub, car park not over busy, proceeded to the waiting table and stood for what seemed like an eternity, a guy finally arrived, rather flustered, “have you got a booking?”, no welcome!!, he scurried of to check if the table was available, returned saying “no it wasn’t and he’d look for another!”, found the only table in the pub and started to prepare, my wife looked to see it was directly under the tv, not ideal for a “time together meal”. We asked if there was another table and told no!!, we unfortunately declined and left. Just a side note, we ate here Christmas’23, absolutely superb, Easter ‘24 dreadful and going downhill rapidly. Staff members were poorly presented and looked scruffy! Need to improve all round!

The menu was very bland and boring, it wont offend anyone but it was much less than many restaurants. The waitress was pushing the extras hard as I was looking for something with a bit of spice. She said the chef could add chillies , I got a side of chillies which I think I was charged a couple of quid for. So for a burger a couple of sides and two beers the bill came to about £35. £35 for a burger and a couple of beers Prior to ordering a burger, I asked fro the curry but no rice. Place the curry on a portion of chips. That was obviously impossible so I would get the curry and rice and a side of chips and I could put the chips on top. Thats not what I asked for Any kitchen should be able to do a basic operation such as put curry on chips ... but computer says no

We Went for the first time and waited ages for our starters and drinks then a seventy five minutes wait for dinner and don't ask about dessert 😱 and a certain member of staff really needs to watch her body odour. The food was not even warm staff didn't come back to us and the whole experience was ruined. One thing got me I asked for a hot chocolate drink and I watched it being made and the hot chocolate powder came out of a quality street plastic tin and was not even hot. Well won't be going back sorry

Enjoyable evening celebrating a birthday. Lovely girl named Lydia looked after us and was very attentive, without being pushy. The food was nice when we got it although some portions were on the small side. Lydia took on board our comments and was very pleasant. Not enough staff on duty considering the amount of people eating. All in all not bad at all
