Chalkhill Blue in Test Valley

Three families met here for an xmas lunch, lovely decor and great service and food was good and great value. Just 400m off the a303 was perfect for us, highly recommend.

The food was unbelievably delicious and the lemonade tasted like they made it themselves The gents toilet was stinky but the chairs were clean and also very very very very comfortable There was also the sculpture you can see in this table One side of the restaurant was very loud and the other side was quiet but the side was half forgotten The tables were a bit old but all is good 0 to 10 for the kids ( all dishes) 0 to 20 for adults ( all dishes). Ps: i just sat on the chair and just used the table They even provide good stuff The staff is very friendly

Dan, Tracy and the team are so welcoming and the food and service is always amazing. Visited for breakfast and it was so good. Food was fresh, nice tea and coffee and pasties. Sunday roast, christmas and boxing day meals were exceptional and the service was second to none. Such an amazing place

I recently visited The Chalkhill Blue in Andover, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, who were attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Had a drink here. Reasonably inoffensive boozer and restaurant (although we didn't eat). Looked good for couples and families alike, there didn't appear to be any people getting trollied. Modern but not soulless decor, with some comfy booths. Beer was pricey but that seems to be the way.

Not bad for a pub chain. Big Sunday roast although roast potatoes were not crispy...but there again we've yet to find ANY chain restaurant that is capable of doing proper roasties. Leek and potato pie was poor. Veggie burger ok. Puddings very good, although the custard was cold.

Our team had our Christmas Lunch at the Chalkhill Blue & it was lovely. The food was hot & plentiful & came when we were ready for it. We had all preordered which made things simpler & my salmon, turkey dinner & baked cheesecake were delicious. The service was prompt & very friendly whilst the pub has been decorated beautifully for Christmas & the crimbo tunes were playing throughout. Thank you to the team at the Chalkhill Blue.

We recently held a work Christmas lunch at the Chalkhill Blue on 03 Dec for 65 people. Having booked in November we regularly kept in touch with Tracey on numbers. Tracey organised an area for all the tables so we could all sit together. To serve up 65 x 2 and 3 course Christmas meals is no easy job, but Tracey and her team managed this so well, despite the pub being busy with other customers. Our choices were from the Christmas menu and from the normal menu, and the kitchen cope with it all, nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to Tracey and team, we had a fabulous afternoon with you.

We love this place and keep on coming back. The only negative point on our visit yesterday is that there were only 2 members of staff manning the bar and restaurant. By the time we were ready to leave we had to queue to pay the bill, the chef was seconded into a waiters role in his whites. I am guessing that this may have been down to sickness/attendance issues?

We visited for Sunday lunch with our daughter and her partner and their two children. The service was excellent with very efficient staff waiting on us. The quality of the food for the price paid is excellent. Facilities are good, including the outside play area for kids. We would definitely eat here again. They also have two 50kW chargers for EVs that cater for Nissan and CCS.

First visit to the Chalkhill Blue. A lovely spacious pub with a beer garden. A warm welcome on arrival and Covid restrictions clearly in place. Very good service and not a long wait for our food to arrive. A nice selection of options on the menu. Will definitely visit again in the future.

A great celebration graduation meal at Chalkhill Blue with family and friends. Lydia looked after our party splendidly. She also demonstrated a sharp focus on food allergy requirements. We were all impressed with Lydia's relaxed, though timely service. We would happily return to Chalkhill Blue as a result of our visit today.

Firstly, Lydia our server was amazing, could not have done more, so big shout out to her. Food was top class, I had fish and chips and they were cooked to perfection and tasted even better! My wife had the scampi and was very impressed it was also cooked to perfection and she said it tasted awesome. The desert was filling and moreish. Also had a 30% off voucher, which to our surprise we can use again multiple times before a certain date. 10 out of 10 and would highly highly recommend

Food was very basic and sadly not well cooked. It certainly didn’t reflect the price we paid. I was very disappointed. Desert was tiny for over £7, The glasses and cutlery were really dirty. Whilst the waitresses were friendly service was very slow. I have been here before about 1 year ago and it’s sadly gone down hill. Dear manager: Please check the glasses behind the bar and also please don’t leave new bar staff to serve on their own as this firstly sets the whole evening off to a wrong start for the customer and also destroys staffs newly found confidence. We had to wait for ages to be served our drinks and the new bar tender was very inexperienced and told us she is sill learning and just started however the poor thing had been left on her own.
