Luzborough House in Test Valley

Lovely pub, full of atmosphere and really old (grade 2 listed with parts from 16th century) we had perfectly cooked sirloin steaks. Ladies in heels beware, the paving between the car park and entrance has some missing pointing with deep gaps, enough to either wreck your shoes or test your ability to resist gravity if it's dark or you aren't watching where you walk. Lovely pub, masses of parking although no disabled parking bays to be found (although there may be one which is almost faded out so hard to be sure) which is a shame and they could certainly add a couple more as if you are disabled the walk across the car park would be too far for most.

Turned up 15 minutes after they were supposed to open, they saw us waiting outside and ignored us. I tried calling but no answer on main line. Very disappointing

Had a fantastic meal at The Luzborough, and Maya made the experience even better. She was super friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was ever too much trouble for her. The food was amazing—everything was fresh and full of flavour. The service really stood out, and we felt really well looked after. Highly recommended!

Lovely place and great for the kids. The wait staff were nice and the food was great.

Went there on Sunday for lunch. Party of 4, My husband had the Turkey roast dinner, the Turkey was slimy and it promptly reappear later. The macaroni cheese was not properly cooked so it was congealed together, a tin version would have been better. (Not that I'd eat a tin version - disgusting) The latte coffee that was served was really lukewarm almost cold. The service also was not good, very slow. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Went last Wednesday with family the food was brilliant, really would recommend, we all enjoyed it and would definitely eat there again! :)

Ollie and Dawn were perfect. We went in for food after being let down at another pub, and the difference was night and day. They were friendly, attentive and helpful even though the pub was very busy. They even brought out a tablet with all of the allergy information on for us, which was a great help. Food was good value for money and very tasty. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I had a lovely meal and a drink with my husband and two boys. Staff were amazing (especially Cassie and Emma) and they were very attentive, and the food was brilliant. We will be back again!

No stars , we arrived lunch time the pub was almost empty. We asked if we could sit, we where told we would have to wait 20 minutes before we could order. So we left. As we left there was a couple going in the pub, as we drove away we saw that couple was leaving too. I was with my friend from astralia. We went to another pub that was busy and they served us very well.

The staff are welcoming. We ordered the salmon and Hunters Chicken as the meals had been very good on our previous visit. Today very disappointing. Today my salmon was dry and the new potatoes should have been roasted but were not. My husbands meal was tough. We feel the meals had been reheated,

This restaurant has become our favourite,we visited today,landlady is lovely as are her staff.We have had some really lovely meals in there.There is a really nice closed in garden with play area for children,there is also another area seperate from the restaurant which is dog friendly.Highly reccomend this place.

Turned up to an empty pub and was refused servicw at 1pm because they were at capacity 🤣🤣 Joke pub Sadly getting worse every time we go which is a real shame, poor baby faces running the place are adorably clueless and apologetic but the food doesn’t cost any less Last time we split a sharing nacho platter and had only 6 nachos in it! Then my husband’s Sunday roast had the smallest excuse for potatoes you can imagine I ordered the steak off the GF menu which meant it came with a jacket potato instead of chips, this was ignored and I was served not only chips but very gluten covered onion rings, if you question the poor waiters to explain you are only met with “I’ll check that for you” Understandably your typical pub grub place but it used to be worth the money however now not, I paid £25 for the saddest steak and “sauce “

An awful experience. Ordered food. Within 3 mins it was on the table straight from a microwave, but it was cold. The Lasagne was a small portion accompanied by their very generalist 8 chips. My friend had bangers and mash. Again small portions, cold and preheated. Least the pints of beer were a full pint! Visited again a week later to give them another chance, but alas this time I arrived at 7.30pm to be told they could not serve food as they didn’t have enough staff! Well least we had no food rather than bad food. Really disappointed.

A previous mid-week lunchtime visit lured us back for a Sunday lunch visit and the experience couldn't have been more different. Weekday = lovely welcome and service and good food. Sunday = not so friendly welcome, extremely poor service: long time waiting for each course to be served, when requesting cutlery & condiments we were vaguely told they were they could be found. Its a good job it's an order at the bar venue as the Sunday staff would never be able to cope with taking orders and delivering them as well. The only good thing is the standard of food is good.

Nice relaxed feel to the place, the Staff were very friendly and service was great, the food was very good especially the pies, bit strange that there is no pitta or nam bread to go with the curries .

Had a lovely lamb shank and pint of level head, the lady who serves us Emma the bill said was very professional and polite.

We came here to celebrate my granddaughters birthday as we had enjoyed our meal the previous year. The place seems to have gone down hill since then. They had run out of a lot of the items on the menu and I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad which was practically inedible with huge soggy lumps of bread masquerading as croutons & the whole thing drenched in some sort of sauce. My son gave the thumbs down to his chicken in a basket. When it came to my little granddaughter blowing out the candles on her cake nothing could be found to light the candles though the previous year this was no problem.

Great service from Cassie and her team, lovely meal very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back soon. This was our second visit and as good as the first.

Nice local pub with friendly staff, good drinks and a good large bar and garden. We went to watch an outdoor production that was so funny but I had a wonderful glass of wine and my partner enjoyed a tasty beer.

Food was great, service great. It's rare that i give 5 stars for anything. The 3 star overall was for the state of the glasses, maybe new ones would be in order or a new dishwasher. . I noticed literally all the glasses used by the group I was with were cloudy/dirty. My glass had lipstick on it, when a clean one was requested the table server didn't look impressed and when it came back you could see that one area on the glasses was actually clean compared to the rest of the area around the rim, so was the lipstick just cleaned off and the same glass returned? I have no idea and no proof that this was the case. I didn't say anymore as I didn't want to make more of a fuss. I can recommend the salmon as it was delicious.

Prawns Liguini: No seasoning no chilli just a few decent prawns and unsalted pasta. Acceptable, but dull and lacking. But 10.99 so maybe it's down to cost.

Lovely atmospheric pub. Great service, they were very accommodating of our pram and surprisingly well behaved child. Tasty steak, and the peppercorn sauce was particularly good!

Lovely experience of the new menu of the Luz. After having not been for a number of months, it was a welcome change to 'out local'. The staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed our food outside in the sunshine. Look forward to the next time

What’s happened to the Luz, it use to be such a busy bustling pub, it’s gradually deteriorating. Definitely needs a refurb & some love from Green King.

Shocking service! The manager was rude and miserable. Huffing and puffing where ever she went. The staff looked so deflated. Food was ok. Bar prices were like London! Car park was the best bit…….

Came here today with my dad, never been before, no booking and only had a 10 minute wait so we grabbed drinks and sat by the bar. Staff were very polite and friendly, food was very flavourful and faultless. Beautiful place with stunning features. The staff very attentive and service was quick. Would highly recommend!

I'd like to specifically give 5 stars to louisa. My daughter is celiac and although the chef didn't have the gluten free bun she wanted, louisa was so accommodating and did everything to make sure we had the best experience possible. My daughter is also autistic so it's very tricky finding gluten free food and then when she has something in mind to have to change that. But louisa was helpful and friendly and my daughter responding really well to her which is a massive thing for her. So thank you for being so understanding

My previous meal was very nice, but last night we had 3 rump steaks. They really were the worst steaks I have been served in any pub. Really thick, raw in the middle, pale meat and tastless. I went for no chips and extra salad. The salad was a joke. Wilted. You can tell the chef was not making any effort at all. I'm not rushing back.

Came with the kids and had a really great lunch, the food was hot and tasty, the bar looked great as it had recently been changed around and the tv is a great idea hopefully it’s permanent and not just for the rugby :-) Fish and chips and cheese and bacon burger were on a great £25 deal so the price was good too! Emma and her bar staff were really good and kept us up to date with the new deals and offers that are available Need to try the steaks next as there on offer on Saturdays with some drinks

It was an anniversary of mine and my partner. This is where we had our first date. To be disappointed is an understatement. We were taken to our table and with our drinks. I asked for a straw for my partners drink and with waiting…. I went and got it myself. When ordering food the starters were overdone. I had the garlic mushrooms and couldn’t even put a fork in it!!! We then ordered a lamb shank and asking for a steak knife to cut it! I then asked to be taken back to be done better. My dish then returned to the table on the same plate that I had sent back!! To say it was taken off and put in the microwave!!! It was a total disappointment. I will not be returning or recommend any one to come for dinner here. The only plus was to be offered a desert. No thanks!!!

A friendly cosy pub with exposed brickwork, beams and a small fire. As it's an old building, there are a number of small alcoves, which can give privacy. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. Food is of average quality. There's a large rear garden, which is helpful if you have children. It's a very relaxing place for a drink on a summer's evening, and inside it's very cozy in the winter. The car park is large and never full.
