Luzborough House in Test Valley

We had 2 lovely servers, Lucy and Paige whilst out for dinner with friends. They were apologetic if anything took slightly longer than expected but they were very friendly and checked in with us through the meal. Very happy with the service. Food was tasty, portion sizes differed between meals but overall a good experience.

Amazing experience! We dined for the first time at this pub! I had a rump which was cooked to perfection and my partner had a cheese and bacon burger which was presented and tasted amazing! We both then decided to have puddings to finished which were served promptly after we had ordered! From the moment we stepped in we felt welcomed and every member of staff we came across was lovely! Lucy and cassie ( I believe their names were…) were both lovely and have definitely helped us in deciding to return in the future.

It’s a lovely place however last night my food was cold and very sparse . The waiting staff were lovely but lots of things were forgotten, The food that came out wasn’t correct. The dessert an Eton mess was £6.99 for a bowl that was considered large which in other restaurants would have been small, for what it was and the quality it was very over priced. A shame as there was 11 of us and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all as our booking was for 4pm

We booked a table for five people. Three of us had steak which was cooked perfectly. The desserts were delicious!! Lucy looked after us very well. Nothing was too much trouble!! The service was fantastic!

Stopped in for our annual family treat. Great food a complied by great staff where nothing was a bother. Will be returning again soon

Friendly and helpful staff. It was not busy so not sure about atmosphere, lovely old fashion pub interior. Food - I made the mistake of ordering macaroni cheese which resembled a toddler size portion made up of "packet" mac and cheese. The "salad" was a handful of rocket. We were amazed that anyone could serve that as an adult meal and thought it was ok. As I ordered it after disliking another meal I did not want to complain again (and nobody asked if the food was ok) but I feel compelled to mention this in the hope that nobody else would be inflicted unknowingly with this awful meal.. The sticky toffee puds would fill you up more lol.

The Abbot ale is never available, we usually meet here over Christmas and I've never been able to enjoy a pint of Abbot ale. This year the words 'maybe we should try somewhere else next year' were mentioned which didn't happen last year but that maybe due to trying the Sunday roast menu which was a bit of a let down. Dry meat (turkey especially), no red on the beef (as described in the menu), raw veg practically and really quite cold. Yorkshire's hadn't risen. One simple child's meal was not delivered to the table for a very long time which really affected the event.

The food here is good I was very happy and so was my husband. The hunters chicken is brilliant. But a special thank you has to go to cassie and Henry they were great.

Luzborough is still an ok pub but service can be hit and miss. Standard Greene King food but some good beers

The food does not improve here. Pretty awful. Small portions, not fresh. The Mac Cheese tasted and looked like it was out of a tin. The sweet was tiny. A couple of choices missing off the limited menu. The only redeeming feature was the pleasant staff. We visited at Twixtmas and the outside was not welcoming. No Christmas lights etc. In fact, we thought the pub was shut! The Luzborough needs an overhaul by the owners.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Luzborough, and it was an experience charm and delight. The exemplary service provided by Charlie ensured our visit was one of sophistication. His superb knowledge of the menu and impeccable recommendations, especially of the steak, displayed the epitome of hospitality. The Luzborough is an excellent traditional English pub. Bravo to Charlie, and I shall eagerly anticipate my next visit.

I'm not a big fan of the Luzborough House any more but met some friends for drinks before Christmas and was served by a really nice guy called Charlie. He really made us feel welcome and went the extra mile with his service.

The service offered by Maya Rostom was exceptional. She is extremely charming, charismatic and truly goes the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.

Quite a good experience. The food was nice. The building is very nice and old, it looks really cool! The toilets were very nice and clean. Overall, I recommend it.

Popped in the Luzborough after having a long day out dropping off stuff in prep for the Christmas period, and the experience was fantastic, the atmosphere was lively but you could still hear what the other person was saying and cassie was very helpful when it came to avoiding food that could cause an allergic reaction, alternative choices, she was very attentive to our needs and couldn't fault her at all. When we got the food it was hot and absolutely delicious, compliments to the chef and the staff at this place! Definitely will be coming again

I live right near this pub and it is my favorite and it has my favorite beer so that helps. Also burger is banging. The girl behind the bar called maya was also great.

Me and my partner went for lunch to Luzborough. We have been seated quickly. The personel were very polite and kind. The food was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Greenking quality at its finest. Underdone chips and oil thrown over what can only be described as cheap pub grub making it not the best place to eat. This place was fantastic but having gone so close to Christmas I expected it to be rammed. It wasn’t even half full. Staff were really good. Food was terrible.

Haven’t been to the Luzborough in years and was pleasantly surprised by the standard. Has improved massively since last visit. Received a warm welcome and were asked how soon we would like our food brought out. (We had preordered for the Festive menu). The food was extremely good, and service was outstanding. Already planning to go back for my birthday.

I will definitely be coming back and no it’s not because the waiters are attractive 🤣. Tonight, my three friends and I had the pleasure of dining at this establishment - The food was phenomenal! The portion sizes were splendid! The overall atmosphere and vibes of the pub were great - especially with the great music to add to it! But what tops it off for me and my experience was the fantastic customer service! Both Henry and Oli were extremely attentive and kept checking if we were okay, they were patient with us when we were being a bit peculiar with ordering food and they maintained their professionalism throughout their service, despite our table being rather competitive with our card games 🤣🤣 I really hope that they both get reassurance and verbal praise that their customer service is outstanding - they truly blessed our evening!

Average. A group of us went for lunch today. order was messed up we all ordered together two meals arrived then waited 20 mins for the other 9, so we all ate at different times. noone came to check on us whilst eating or asked if meal was ok afterwards. Food was average, wont dash back.

Popped in for a few drinks after a hard day, nice place

Fantastic staff nice and friendly the food tasted amazing nothing was too much, arrived with a very hungry toddler following walk and the staff didn’t waste anytime getting their food out. Had a really good conversation with the new manager who explained that although he is new to this pub he had years and years of experience in managing and working in a variety of pubs. We will be back for sure.

Visited today for lunch with my fiancé and dog. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, Oil in particular was so so helpful. I didnt catch the other member of staffs name but she was also very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional and very well priced We would happily return here, and I hope all the members of staff here are as amazing as the two who saw us today

Great place to have a meal and a drink. Gareth, the new manager is fantastic and his has a great team along side him, particularly Ollie and Henry who was very helpful! Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely awful, wait time of over an hour to be served a child's size portion of frozen anemic roast potatoes that were still hard, counted 6 peas on my partners plate, a tea spoons worth of cauliflower cheese, an inch of parsnip, 10 pence size of stuffing, this is not an over exaggeration. A £2 ready meal would have been better, so embarrassing as we had brought our American friend who was visiting and promised him proper English pub food! Tried to complain but was dismissed by someone claiming to be the manager, who tutted his teeth and said he'd get some more peas sent after serving someone else their drinks as he was busy, later tried to make up some excuse of it being busy, "sorry, but" which doesn't excuse serving frozen potatoes and prison standard food! Utterly gobsmacked that they can pass this off as a Sunday roast and charge over £15. Staff no where to be seen, even the wait to be served at the bar was long with no one behind the bar and someone having to shout into the kitchen to get a staff member, there was only a handful of customers in the place. If Greenking have selected this individual as a manager they must have really scrapped at the barrel. Still we were charged £28 for 3 beers, 1 coke and a j20, which after the ridiculous wait, and no real apology offered or communications throughout our time there, should have been on the house. Avoid at all costs. If you're after this standard of food, I highly recommend buying a bag of value roast potatoes and letting a 3 year old cook your dinner for you. Disgusting food, service and attitude all round.

Good food and great service from Poppy. The roast was huge and the indulgent burger was fantastic. A second visit was equally as pleasant with good pub grub. That said some parts look a little tired so a light refurb in places would work well.

Another delicious meal (Katsu curry 😋), friendly service and cosy atmosphere. This pub continues to be our favourite for food.

Rubish service, very slow the barman was more interested in talking to other staff than serving waiting customers

Turned up 15 minutes after they were supposed to open, they saw us waiting outside and ignored us. I tried calling but no answer on main line. Very disappointing Edited: please see the screenshot below which confirms the opening times of 11am not 11:30am as the pubs response states. Just to help with any confusion.

Lovely pub, full of atmosphere and really old (grade 2 listed with parts from 16th century) we had perfectly cooked sirloin steaks. Ladies in heels beware, the paving between the car park and entrance has some missing pointing with deep gaps, enough to either wreck your shoes or test your ability to resist gravity if it's dark or you aren't watching where you walk. Lovely pub, masses of parking although no disabled parking bays to be found (although there may be one which is almost faded out so hard to be sure) which is a shame and they could certainly add a couple more as if you are disabled the walk across the car park would be too far for most.

Went there on Sunday for lunch. Party of 4, My husband had the Turkey roast dinner, the Turkey was slimy and it promptly reappear later. The macaroni cheese was not properly cooked so it was congealed together, a tin version would have been better. (Not that I'd eat a tin version - disgusting) The latte coffee that was served was really lukewarm almost cold. The service also was not good, very slow. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
