Buffet breakfast is always worth a visit! Service is good, food is good, a nice cheap and cheerful breakfast

Went there for a family meal on Sunday. Kim our waitress was amazing. She helped us keep all our bills separated to ease payment. She answered any questions we had and was more than happy to help with other bits, She made it such an enjoyable time. Plus the food was great!

Food was great, went for late lunch, shame the staff didn't mention that using the Blue Light card meant we would pay full price and it would be cheaper without the discount due to the £5 lunch offer up to 6pm.

We were a table of 13, the food was nice and good value for money and the service was relatively quick. There were a few item missing from a couple of plates but this was soon rectified.

Firstly no customer service from staff who then said 'what do you want'. No advice on how we got the carvery on Sunday until we actually queued to be told we needed a ticket. I had to ask the server what had happened to the roast potatoes as they were a congealed mess. I then ate a few mouthfuls and asked for the bill. My daughter and I left after we had paid. This seriously has been the worst Sunday carvery I have ever been to....I'm 66 so have been to a few. Avoid avoid avoid

Great service on two nights food was hot and cooked well. Missed an egg of my mixed grill 😆 but to be fair I didn't need it. Staff are super friendly and cheerful and coped exceptionally well when busy on both nights.

Food was tepid. Service inconsistent..very few customers when we left just before 8pm. Young staff more interested in chatting to each other. Disappointed overall.

I come here and eat jam. I sit my little bottom down and scoff a 15 gallon jar of apricot jam in my nighty while my uncle watches.

Fantastic spot, the prices are reasonable and the food is tasty and comes in good portions. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

What can I say Kim was exceptional front of house nothing was too much trouble. The kids had a fantastic time, although it was extremely busy Kim didn't faulter once. Our food was amazing I had the Sunday Carvery all 3 meats😊. But saving the best for last the Easter sundae (kitkat) needs to be a permanent item on the menu!! I asked who made it and was told by Kim that it was in fact her daughter Ellie. Superstars in the making pay rise needed!!!! Will 100% be back!!!

I was really happy with the service a very polite and helpful young man I think he was called Jack.

Came here tonight with my mum and a couple of her friends. The food was really nice but the star of the show was Jack W - probably the nicest waiter any of us has met and a real credit to the Honourable Pilot. We’ll definitely return - as long as Jack can be our waiter again! :)

Jack W was our waiter for the evening. He was so attentive and friendly. He made our friends birthday so special. He is an absolute asset to the company!

Came in for food with my friends, was seated by the lovely Chelsie. Made us all feel welcomed. Food was good, came out at a decent time. We stayed in the bar area having a few drinks and Frankie was a star, very lovely and chatty. All round great atmosphere.

Terrible food, didn’t eat, left on table and left restaurant. Admittedly arrived at the end of service but no excuse for such bad fare

Went for early evening meal sat down in minutes. 25 minutes later no service came to take order asked if we could order and 5 minutes later someone came over at this point decided to go somewhere else as family behind us had been waiting 45 minutes for drinks their food order came out wrong and service were not apologetic to say the least.

Have been before and had a lovely experience however this time was very disappointing. Waited ages to be shown to a table despite it being quite empty but decidedly lacking in staff. Then waited a long time for our meal to arrive. The mains was lovely and could not fault however we then had to wait quite a while for our dessert. The crumble which looked of a decent size and quality was actually very small and served in a sugar bowl. We queried that this was actually what the picture portrayed as it looked nothing like it! Overall a disappointing visit.

Just another boring pub chain. Noting special.

Went midweek lunchtime. Couldn’t eat in restaurant so ate in the bar. Told after paying that there s 30 minute wait for food. Some items even though it was only lunchtime, we’re not available. Food served to two tables who ordered 15 mins after we did. When I complained all waitress could say was she takes meals as they become available. No apology just said we was told 30 mins wait, but it was actually 45 mins. Other tables got theres in 20 mins. Felt all staff were uninterested, un-welcoming or worried about how long food took to serve. Did not say thank you or goodbye as we left. However food was very good value for money Sadly won’t be returning or recommending to friends, purely because of staff attitudes. Think some customer relations training needed

We will not be going to this disgusting embarrassment of a restaurant again. We sat down and we asked to get moved as the heating wasn't on during the winter. The service was disgusting and the food tasted like rubber and was microwaved. Would never come back.

What a smashing bar/restaurant I was visiting the area on business and was staying at the premier inn hotel next door. The evening meal was delicious the menu is simple and could do with an update with healthier swap options and more pasta or more filling options for jacket potatoes. The breakfast was by far one of the best.

Decided to try here for lunch today with my Mum and 1 year old daughter. Upon arriving at 11.50am, a lady come up to us and said we was not allowed to sit down until 12 noon, I thought this was absolutely ridiculous considering I have a small child and all tables were free. We then heard the worker behind the bar say they were experiencing technical problems. Anyhow we waiting standing to be seated, around 12.05 another lady come to the front and explains they could only take cash. With all respect why an earth was we not told this upon arrival 15 minutes prior. We had to stand there for 115 minutes with a small child, not allowing us to sit, when they knew they could only accept cash. Why not make us aware upon arrival. The workers were full of attitude. Really bad customer service, glad we didn't end up eating here.

Service was very slow we were there 45 mins had starters no drinks went up ask for them to say coming ..went back about 10 mins after we were sitting about 50 min no drink met lady on way said they our drinks said yes very rude then she disappeared thank goodness for I believe his Name Nick running around like headless chicken he was good also kitchen staff were helpful bringing the food out which was of good standard so overall apart from staffing issues was lovely meal

Paid a visit to here yesterday at 10am with our 3 kids for the breakfast deal. I can't praise the staff anymore for how well they coped with how busy it was, the food was hot and there was lots to choose from. The staff where very friendly and nothing was to much when asked... BRILLIANT will be back

When we came in the restaurant was almost empty, we got seated quickly and gave our orders. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive I had ordered the chipotle chilli beef jacket potato when it finally arrived I discovered my chilli ‘beef’ actually only had about 2 pieces of beef however the actual potato was alright. Also One of my family members had the gammon and chips and when it arrived their egg was lukewarm. No wonder the cookhouse and pub are doing a 25% off promotion and the meals were so cheap.

This is a lovely pub and restaurant. Great food, great service. Tasteful and cozy decor. The roast on Sundays is a highlight. Prices are reasonable. A big and free car park adds to an excellent establishment. Well worth a visit.

Dirty food over the cutlery. Dirty sanitary products and tissues all over the bins and floor in ladies toilets. Manager didn’t seem bothered as she got told earlier but still hadn’t sorted the situation.

Great visit with 4 children (family of 6). Server was Nick - very helpful and did well on a very busy section on his own. Facilities were good with a play area for our children to use between courses which kept them entertained. Great deal currently with Family of 4 eating for £15. Many thanks! A+++

The food was very nice. Probably even better than expected for the price. Our server Chelsie was very friendly, knowledgable and helpful, we couldn't fault the service that she provided us with. We will definitely go back again.

On arrival was told to wait whilst member of staff said they'd see if table was ready ( although not even half full) stood there for 10 mins and staff member had forgotten I was there waiting still. Another staff member seated us, ordered drinks and that took 20 mins to be brought to table . Then when food arrived loaded fries has virtually no cheese and bacon on which was sent back, as was my daughters steak that wasn't cooked correctly. Definitely won't be returning. No wonder they are offering 40% off mains and 25% off total bill at the moment

NICK! Was absolutely amazing!! Made us feel nothing but comfortable, constantly made us laugh ensuring we got the best service we could! - we will 100% be back, if anyone else gets nick as a server you will enjoy the evening. Food fantastic steady flow of service.

Rung numerous times and sat on the phone with it ringing for longer than 2 minutes. It’s absolutely ridiculous I can’t get ahold of anyone to make a reservation. It’s a shame the foods brillant. But they need to start answering calls otherwise they’ll loose more customers. Sick of it!!!

Most of the beers had run out one of the waitresses needs to go on a customer relations course her altitude was disgusting the food took ages to arrive . I couldn’t wait to get out of the place will never go back & would never recommend the place

We had the Sunday carvery with friends and family which was honestly one of the best roast dinners I have had (the kids cleared their plates). The portions were generous and the food reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning in the future and would highly recommend.

Do not go here. We went waited 5 minutes to be served a drink even though the pub was very empty for a Sarurday afternoon. Went for meals with friends. Worst thing ever. Starter was fine come the main different story. 2 of us ordered burger no bun but salad. Whilst the burger was lovely, my salad was lettuce and tomatoes. My friend was lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and sweetcorn. How is that so different? One other friend had the fish and chips . OMG, that was the worst thing I ever seen. The batter was so thick it was ridiculous. I'm sure it could have damaged someone if you threw it at them. The whole meal looked as if it was days old and been reheated. We finished what we could of these meals and waited nearly 25 minutes for our plates to be removed. We weren't even asked if everything was OK. The next conversation that was had was when they placed the card reader in front of us. Would I go back again or would I recommend this place. HELL NO

Well what can I say, absolutely disgrace, I took my hubby out for his birthday, food was cold, waitress spilt drink on table and walked off, leaving us to clean it up, waited 1 hour for dinner, A4 sheet on menu had nothing. Ended up with food poisoning. Gammon was watery and stack burger was dry, never again am I going to this place. Rude and so unprofessional

Staff was pleasant but not enough for the busy period as they was rushed off their feet. Food was average to mediocre. I am surprised how this place is still going.

Took the family for the Christmas festive menu meal . They were rushed off their feet so our wait for food was very long and not very hot when it did arrive. The staff were pleasant enough and helped our table of 15 as much as they could with its different requirements of food and drinks ie smaller glasses of coke for the children. Decent size amounts of food on the plates and the options to buy extra sides if you want .

Treated to Xmas dinner by my elderly mother we was a party of 8 Spoke to the manager Holly in regards to the disgusting Christmas dinner and service we received on the day to only be laughed at and repeatedly told sorry my love There was no professional manner about this person as you could hear her in the gaps laughing with other staff Was told she would get someone to reply to my email and we are still waiting a response The meal where can we start late seating then informed we hadn’t pre ordered our starters but we had to chase for them (forms were put in on November) prawn cocktail had no sauce bread had no butter had to ask for that too Next the main meal meat was horrible and not hot turkey was served in a dish of water Vegetables were solid and cold and could honestly cause damage the potatoes were as if they were warmed up in a microwave and just left Staff behind the food counter were not festive at all it was as if we all was an inconvenience to them The woman behind the counter was bouncing around shouting she needed a wee (just got then you wasn’t needed) None of the food was warm it was cold Dessert well that was a disaster most the party had the crumble which most enjoyed lucky for them Christmas pudding well let’s just say one of our party will never touch a Christmas pudding again it looked as if someone had enjoyed themselves over it and right next to was a hair let’s say that was left untouched and sent back the same way Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy for a meal if you got a chance to cancel your meals I would recommend doing so.

This place deserves zero stars I have never been in a place as disgusting as this and I would warn anyone before choosing to eat here We had our Xmas dinner here and let just say the whole table was disgusted it ruined our day We was booked in for 5pm and it took them over half an hour to get our table sorted once we was seated it took another half hour just for the starters and yet we had to get the servers to find out what was going on only to be told we didn’t pre-order the bloke refused to take the right name for the reservation must have been drunk The food was terrible cold and it was as if it was all warmed up in a microwave also the turkey was swimming in some really nasty water tasted as if it was frozen there was also hair in the food Most the party never ate their food because of this The restaurant staff also have a terrible attitude towards people not one person left that place raving about it I wouldn’t be surprised that they have had to deal with a load of complaints

Pre booked our Xmas meal here as I was working Xmas day so didn’t have time to cook, our meal was booked for 5pm but didn’t get taken to our table till 6pm, staff were unbelievably miserable, no smiles or Xmas atmosphere at all! We then waited at our table and no one came to us, so had to ask someone if our food was coming to which they asked if we pre ordered as had lost all our information! No apology just left us to then get someone to redo our order! We then waited another half an hour for our food so finally started our meal at around 6.45pm, food was tasty but service was the worst I’d EVER had! We really felt uncomfortable and was made to feel like we were an inconvenience, we paid a lot of money and will never be returning! Staff could at least pretend they wanted to be there! 😳

Christmas Day Dinner. Really couldn't find fault. Carvery was excellent, Veg cooked just to our liking, turkey was full of flavour and moist, spuds and snips were perfect. A real home cooked style Christmas Dinner. Service was excellent - A highly recommended venue for a Great Christmas Day Dinner.

Service was very slow. Hardly any staff. Wasn't busy considering the time we went early in the evening. Unfortunately, the gammon was burnt, and the chips weren't cooked enough. Don't normally have any issues, but was a bit disappointed today

Atrocious food establishment. Should be called the Horrible Pilot. We had a Xmas gathering here, and the food was stone cold where we waited for around 2 hours between starter and main meals. It was not very busy, so there was no excuse for the delay! Staff serving were apologetic but will not be returning. A lot of people were paying and leaving. Would not refund, only offered free drink. Very poor. Disgusting!

Dull atmosphere, very moody staff :( food-not sure if I can describe. Good i was so hungry otherwise I probably would not touch it. Well garlic mushrooms tastles burned on old oil, steak medium rare ,I could easily use as a hammer. Hard and burned on the outside. God the worse food I ever had. No wonder restaurant/pub was almost empty on Friday night. Wow I don't think I will be back, ever. Shame as it could be a nice place.

We visited today and straight away we were given a list of things that were not available on the menu before we sat down. When the food arrived after a 45 minute wait the chicken was completely cold and undercooked. Absolutely disgusting spat it out and left ,some staff also miserable and unhelpful definitely will never put one foot through their door again 😡

Considering they opened at 0630 the hot breakfast buffet wasn't out until 0810ish - The food itself was ok though. The restaurant is tired and in desperate need of a refurb.... and a good clean

Havent been here for about 8 years, and vowed never to return. But here i was and this time under a new chain the food was really good and service was friendly and efficient. I risked a steak and it was cooked the way i like and very tender and i didnt have to have chips with it like most places. Good value for money and a 40% discount voucher helped too. Only downside bar closed at 10 on a week days.

Me and my partner came here for breakfast this morning, walked in and wasn't greeted just told our total would be 20 odd pounds without even asking what we wanted. This caused confusion and she acted like she didn't know what we was there for. We left and the waitress was immediately lovely to the two people behind us, greeting them fondly. Eventually got seated and as we went to leave my partner made a glass of water and the lid wasn't secured to the jug and the woman quite literally blamed it on my partner and publicly embarrassed her saying "what's going on with you today" extremely rude, unsure if this is homophobic or just a rude member of staff. I wouldn't go here again.

We went for our works Xmas meal. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and attentive. A definite improvement since our experience a few years ago.

Food was average but took ages to arrive then when it was ready came out in dribs and drabs.

Dinner in the evening was okay but a good vet could of revived my steak......medium/well. I came in November however tge food took so long to come i could of put crackers with it. Breakfast was all you can eat however they took my order at 8am and then after came out with the all you can eat hmmmm. Saving money me thinks.

It's a chain restaurant and pretty much what you'd expect, but the staff were great and no one had any complaints about their food. They also had a decent pint of Green King IPA on the pump which, although unexciting, is more real ale than most chain restaurants provide

Great breakfast after a stay in the Travelodge next door. Help yourself buffet style of either continental or full English. Cereals, croissants, American style pancakes, fruit, yoghurts and toast with all the usual jams, peanut butter and marmite and Nutella. Very busy. Large car park.

We go to the honourable polit pub at least once a month went there 22nd october 2024 for lunch we ordered two lots of fish and chips the waiter brought it to our table and the meal was cold so we told the waiter who replaced the meal which we waited another 20mins for and that was also cold i think this is so bad when two lots of meals were cold so wont recommend this pub again or gobthere ourselfs

Breakfast...cold plates, with a clear film on them possibly a dishwasher issue? Asked for a clean plate and was rudely told that she would get me another, but it would be exactly the same!! Returned with a clean plate, and silently offered it to me befire walking away. I was so incensed by this poor attutude that I didn't bother to eat breakfast.

Just had supper with my in-laws tonight. Food was very good and very reasonably priced. Our Waitress Chloe was exceptional and very professional. Thank you all for your efforts

Fried egg yolks not runny as being kept on hot plate but all other breakfast items I had were tasty and hot. Friendly helpful staff member helped sort a wheelchair space at a table. Pleasant atmosphere (not loud)

Great place for lunch and dinner. Located near a river. Beautiful English atmosphere. Warm and intimate decor, perfect for spending time as a couple or with friends. Very good food, quality and preparation of high level dishes. They serve a glass of good red wine on request, beers... soft drinks. Beautiful experience. Average prices. Ample free parking in front. Dogs are also allowed. Advise.

Nice selection of food for different dietary requirements, good price and the staff are absolutely lovely. They have a new selection of cocktails which are delicious! Staff went out of their way to make my mum's birthday special, which really made the experience here 5 stars :)
