Great little pub next to the Railway Station. They have screens showing the train times so you can keep an eye out for your train whilst enjoying a beer, coffee and good food. Nice atmosphere, service and staff.

As most of Wetherspoons, clean, tidy, Good choice of food and drink. Service excellent.

Arrived the morning for coffee. Some people came in for a breakfast. The weather is good and will be busy later on

We have had breakfast and lunch at this bar/restaurant food is very nice generally, and the bar has a good selection of beer's and wine, and the staff at this wetherspoons are very good and very helpful and polite,perfect for breakfast before you get on the train, and just the job when you get off no need to cook when you get home 😀 😋 👍

Always busy in this pub, so finding a table may be difficult, but if you manage it, food is always good for the price and drinks are cheaper than a standard pub, so that's a win , win.

Nicely situated chain pub next to Rainham (Kent) station. Usual Wetherspoons stuff with the addituon of this, on draft, at the time of visit. Ironically, I don't believe they serve this offering at the Peter Cushing (Whitstable).

A great wetherspoons , good atmosphere

Very disappointed on this visit. Ordered food and drinks at the bar on entry and took the drinks to our table. Simple order for food (2 chicken wraps and 1 portion of chips). Ordered another 2 drinks after approx 30-35 minutes later on the app which arrived promptly so asked about the food. Apparently it had been taken down as done when it hadn't been! Eventually turned up but the chips were cold! Managed to find the member of staff that brought them to us and complained about them and he did get us a new portion that was hot although by then we had eaten the wraps! Definitely not one of the best Wetherspoons I have been in!!

Woman and man kicked us out of spoons because we swinge the lights and then the woman told us to stop so we did then the man stood there look at us then we laughed because we felt awkward then he told us to leave so we did but he followed us

A comfortable pub with helpful staff and friendly regulars. The food is the usual pub food that ranges from okay to surprisingly good and the variety of drinks is good as well

Parking is the real issue here. Bit of a rush PH .better PH in the area and better wetherspoons.

Look, it's Weatherspoons. I wasn't expecting much other than (hopefully) hot and not cooked by me. Surprisingly, I had an awesome meal, rapidly served and really tasty. (Alfredo Pasta, 8" garlic bread and Salted Caramel Sticky toffee pudding) best meal I've had in a while! Good job The Railway!

Very pub, apart from the funky smell in one corner of the pub, and bugs flying into my pint of Black Ice Ale, again just in the funky smelling spot. 5* usually, but funky smells knock it down.

Probably the worst Wetherspoons I've been to and I've been to a lot. Bar staff are unaware and look like they don't care. Very open pub so lacks atmosphere. Food was good though

Well, what a place one of the best Wetherspoon I've been in very large inside made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive Same menu as we come to expect, but it seems somewhat different (in a good way ) Staff are very friendly atmosphere great facilities are the best I've seen in a spoons

Amazing, funny. good and beer drinks with good selection of beers, i liked the beer there and had a few pints of beer with my beer. will be back here for a few beers throughout the year.

After a pretty burned pretty empty panini was delivered to the table my friend found a staff member who replaced it with a fresh and super filled replacement. It felt like she really cared that my friend enjoyed her experience. We aren’t sure if her name but she was wearing kitchen uniform and red and black trainers. Thank you!!

It's a spoons, cheap cheerful food and budget booze. Place has the obligatory toothless tramp, bunch of divorced golf buddies sipping ale, a table full of young gents who must be handbag traders as they are always talking about 3 bags for 100 quid 😂, and a table full of cougars sipping pinot whilst waiting for the London train to go see a show for Sandra's 30th (ahem 40th) Birthday!

It's a Wetherspoon's so you know what to expect.

2 of us called in here for a pint and ended up staying for a curry. The beer and cider was fine as was the curry especially when taking the price into account. The only thing that would put me off going again would be the service which is very slow!

It’s a cozy pub, with nice Staff - Beer hits different and it is just good. Go here now for an amazing time with your Family, Friends or Spouse. I’ve been to alot of spoons, nothing comes close.

Lad with green shirt, shaved head with glasses was unbelievably rude to my partner and my five year old daughter, he threw her cutlery in the bin, couldn’t be bother to look for them and didn’t even apologise! He even threw plate of cheese slice in front of her angrily when my partner asked nicely for grated cheese and paid for it, I’m reporting that man to higher up and I want him fired !

Usually fairly busy. Food can be hit and miss. I think changes in kitchen cooks are the reason for quality or portion inconsistencies, but overall, it is not a bad place to relax for a drink and some grub.

Went in for breakfast, which was good as far as it went but missing mushrooms, mentioned to staff but never received them!

Served by Robert, got order wrong, charged for Drink i never asked for, quite rude when i pointed it out, then spent 20 minutes giving me the Side eye, lucky i was with the wife or would have knocked the idiot into next week

First TV time there,so not to impressed when I walked in a lot of tables full of dirty dishes but could be short staff, food good but small portions for the prices, but definitely will go back

First time at this pub and had a great meal and drinks at an affordable cost and the staff were very friendly and had a great atmosphere.

Next to railway station. Some vocal characters in when I visited but soon removed from the bar. Large sitting area and train time table on screen at the bar so you know when you're going to miss the train.

A quick breakfast at Wetherspoons is surprisingly decent at times. The Railway is bigger than you might expect and seems to be a breakfast favourite for locals. We just needed a quick, satisfying bite to keep us going. The sausage and egg Breakfast Muffin with additional unlimited tea and coffee hit the spot. An eat-in breakfast for two coming in at approximately £8 just can't be beaten. Was it any good? Well, you can't expect too much from a muffin, but it was perfectly decent with juicy sausage and a well-prepared egg that still had a little runniness to the yolk. Will we go back? Probably. There's plenty of space with options for table & chairs, comfy booths and barstool seating. It's quite light, the coffee is on tap and the service comes with a smile. The tables and cutlery were clean too. I'm sure The Railway can accommodate larger parties as well as threes and fours. Being right next door to the railway station, it makes for a decent meeting place for parties heading off on an adventure. I would make two observations. The first is that the toilets are upstairs. They're clean, but I wasn't quite sure about disabled access. Don't take that as a definite issue because I may have missed something downstairs. The other is more general. Plate clearing seems slow and there wasn't anywhere obvious to dump our rubbish or dirty dishes. I don't know about you, but once the food is eaten I prefer a clear table. That's just me being picky.

A decent Wetherspoons. Conveniently placed next to Rainham railway station, hence the name 'The Railway' it is nice and big, open planned with an extra outside place with additional seating for the warmer weather. The service was nice and quick and the food was also good. I opted for a Triple American Cheese and Bacon burger which was very tasty washed down with a pint of Leffe. As usual, fantastic prices and I think the pub is definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

Went with a couple friends, and my 18 year son bought his first round! Good selection of draught beers, great price, friendly service, comfortable seating. All good- not brilliant, but good for a beet with some mates. Ps, Didn't try the food, so in fairness, can't rate it... yet.

Our family traditionally chooses the Railway for our celebratory gatherings, especially for birthday celebrations, and there are usually around 20 of us. This time, however, we had an unexpected encounter with an exceptionally rude bar staff member. Despite the usual accommodating atmosphere and good, affordable food, her behavior stood out negatively. Typically, the staff graciously allows us to rearrange tables to accommodate our large group. However, during this visit, we encountered a particularly obnoxious bar attendant. Despite our efforts to assist in managing the challenges of serving such a large party, her rudeness was quite surprising. The incident occurred when we realised there was one less mug at our table than we had ordered. When I politely approached the bar to address the issue, she insisted that she had brought the correct amount and dismissed the matter abruptly. I was taken aback by her lack of courtesy. Fortunately, another staff member, who seemed to be in charge, intervened and directed her to provide the additional mug. To my disbelief, her response was to slam the mug on the bar in a rather rude manner. This encounter left me shocked and compelled to share my disappointment with my family. Subsequently, my brother-in-law approached her, demonstrating that we had indeed paid for the drinks by showing her everyone's order on their phones. While she eventually apologised , I found it hard to fathom that such a reaction occurred over a simple request for a refillable coffee mug. Our visit was on Saturday, 4th November, at 9:30, and she was the sole staff member behind the bar. If I were the manager, I would strongly consider enrolling her in a customer service training course to improve her interactions with patrons.

This pub dining, food and drink restaurant is nice inside. The bathroom facilities are clean, tidy and modernised. Very nice. Food has variety and is reasonably tasty. Service was quick and friendly, both food and drink. Good value for price. It's comfortable and family feeling atmosphere.

Servers were sarcastic unbothered and unhelpful , seemed like they didnt wanna be there Paid £8 for cod n chips and they justified half yes half a tiny cod Food was bland and abit underwhelming for the prices they charge. Wont be returning thats for sure

I reviewed this place pre-covid19. And it was not good!. I see the name has been changed since then so any negative reviews don't show anymore. A clever tactical move I found to be a challenge to me. And so as such for the past 4 months I have been going there undercover on different days, and at different trading hours and observing and collating data for this review. And i have to say I am impressed with the changes since my last 1 star review last year, after an appalling and disastrously bad evening in which I was evicted by a bunch of thug bouncers for no reason. So firstly they do not have the mafioso style bouncers on Friday and Saturday nights anymore. The atmosphere is much more relaxed now without them. So well done on this huge change. I've purchased the vast majority of food on offer and I have to say it was excellent every time. The chef/ chefs are excellent and clearly take pride in their art. Well done Staff are friendly, the place is clean etc Well worth a visit and is clearly being managed right now. Enjoy

Absolutely appalling Customer Service. We arrived a little late in the evening, around 8.30 after a bit of a disaster finding somewhere to eat with my 19 year old daughter and 12 year old son. Waited a while for drinks but it was busy so fair enough. When I ordered, with my son & daughter stood next to me, I enquired if they were still serving food, to which the barman replied "yes" so we found a table in an area that looked predominantly for eating. Ordered our food on the app and it was served to us, no questions asked. My son went off to the toilet and a barmaid came over and asked my daughter for I.D while she was eating her meal. The barmaid didn't look impressed that she was in fact old enough! And she then exclaimed that she just needed to "wait for the other one to come back" to which I replied, he's only drinking coke. Baring in mind we were trying to still eat our meal. She then said to us that children can't be in the pub after 9, I hadn't even noticed the time tbh but it was just a few minutes before 9. She explained that we would have to leave! So I said if that's the case I require a refund. So she went off to get her manager. 2 people then came over, I assume both managers, one was the gentleman who served us at the bar (food definitely getting cold now!) I then had to argue my right for a refund. They explained the rules ( which I get no children after 9 in a pub) but no one said anything to us at the bar or whilst delivering our food and drinks. The male manager then said the barmaids shouldn't have said we had to leave immediately, by this point I'd had enough and said no we wouldn't eat our meals and still wanted a refund. During this conversation the male barman/manager had the audacity to refer to me as "babe" whilst dealing with the complaint!!... I questioned him on this and he said that's how he talks to everyone!! Not professional at all in a customer service setting and not appropriate with the given circumstances. The pair then begrudgingly told me to come up to the bar and they would give me a refund. And blow me he kept calling me babe again!!!! As if to wind me up!! I said nothing and left...hungry and fed up as were my kids! So we went home and got a MC Donald's instead!!! Not the nice family evening we had planned at all... My daughter was home from Uni and I wanted to treat her to a nice evening. Clearly this was not the place for such an evening. I'm not arguing the rules, I understand the 9pm no children but to be accosted mid meal in the manner we were Infront of all the other customers was very demeaning. Needless to say we won't be returning.

The Railway in Rainham is a Weathspoon owned pub and as expected is very well run. The food, as expected was top notch and served by polite and helpful staff. I drank beer whilst I was there and there was a wide range to choose from and all beautifully served and at a reasonable price.

Still got a lovely pub buzz to it.

Witnessed male member of staff argue with a customer over an order, also heard the order given to the member of staff and the customer was correct, and then behind the customers back witnessed the male member of staff complain to other customers when he was in the wrong, bad attitude bad service

I've upgraded my rating slightly because I have decided that rather reviewing it as a pub, I would review it as a cafe that sells booze. As such it's not bad, the food is ok, the booze is cheap but avoid the ales because they do not look after them well. Stick to mass produced lagers
