Great little place offering American-diner style food. Milkshakes and pancakes are delicious. Generous portions too!

Came in late and got THE BEST Bischoff Milkshake. Was served by a very lovely lady. Been to this place a lot over the years and it’s always a welcoming atmosphere. Thanks for all the memories :)

I've been to The Works in Aylesbury many times over the years and for various occasions. Even when it's busy, customer service and the quality of food has generally been strong, as the other reviews show. I would say, however, to avoid delivery from the restaurant (mostly because of Deliveroo's fees, the fact that you're likely ordering ice cream and there will naturally be a wait, and because the atmosphere/presentation add a lot to the perceived taste. Unfortunately, my mother and I did not make use of any of the anniversary deals going on. We drove from Pitstone to the restaurant on Friday evening, to be told that they were closed from 5-8pm for a private function. We wish we had seen this advertised online, not just because we would have liked to make use of the 2 sundaes for £10 deal they had on but also so we could save on fuel costs and have eaten elsewhere. It was really saddening because we arrived around 6pm, which we expected to be a busier time and so hadn't considered that a staff member at the door would have told us that there was a private function. Either way, we did not eat at The Works then and I don't know if I'd like to return in the near future because of this. However, I can say that the waiters are very accommodating, the food has been tasteful and the sundaes to a good quality.

Great experience with quality food. Noticbly young staff and a friendly ambience. Would highly recommend The Works.

Came here with my family last night, i had a waffle and some sorbet, it had perfect service and a really nice atmosphere

I came in on a sunday and whilst it was busy all of the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean and service was efficient. I ordered some nacho boxes and children’s waffles for my daughters. The nachos were amazing and full of flavour, my daughters will not stop asking for us to come back so I assume they enjoyed their waffles too. Will definitely be returning.

We love the works and have been regular customers for some time. Sundaes are delicious and we love some of the new additions to the menu like the pancakes! One small point of improvement we would suggest to management is to avoid having a manager sat at one of the tables completing work and instructing staff- we've been sat near the manager on two occasions we've been here and although the relationships between staff seem really positive and friendly it does affect the atmosphere to hear about shift patterns and staff taking breaks etc. whilst having your sundae

It was ok, but the atmosphere could do with pepping up a notch. The food was ok but I didn't have the desserts. I know the ice creams are first class.

I recently visited The Work with friends and was thoroughly impressed. The service was excellent, prompt, friendly, and attentive. The selection of desserts and ice cream was extensive, offering plenty of choices to satisfy any sweet tooth. The decor is unique and adds a special charm to the ambiance, making the experience even more enjoyable. Despite the high quality, the prices are reasonable, making it a must-try spot. I’ll definitely be returning in the future.

We visited here for lunch as a group of three adults and two children. We were quickly shown to our table and given menus to order. Service was friendly but there were some issues. When our order was taken we asked for some crayons for the kids as the children's menu had some colouring and activities on there to do. Our waitress said she'd get some and then never did. We asked another member of staff who bought some drinks over who then did go and get some for us. Likewise one of our ordered drinks never arrived and we had to ask for that when the food was bought out. Aside from these issues though, service was fine and fairly quick. After eating here the overall consensus was The Works nails the sweet options on its menu but the savoury, not to so much. Whilst the strawberry and mascarpone French toast was genuinely beautiful, the eggs benedict on a waffle was fairly average. The Ice cream (and milkshakes made from it) were very creamy and flavourful, but the kids mac and cheese was inedible to the 7 year old in our group who ordered it. After tasting it, it did seem to be packet mac and cheese, the sauce was quite powdery and bland. We all agreed we'd probably come again for waffles as a treat brunch or an ice cream if passing on a sunny day but I don't think we'd go for a proper meal again. The total bill came to around £75 which we thought was quite expensive for the experience we had.

The restaurant is really good for its ice cream and that’s what we went there for, however the service seems to be profile oriented. We went in around 11:15am and the restaurant had only 1 family in and even though there were a lot of table at the front available, when we pick a table, we were told it was not ready. When we asked what table was ready. We were given a table at the back in the corner. Not sure why because the table we asked for, was given to another family of the same size. We felt we were not treated fairly even thought we also paid for our food.

my order has not been delivered to my address. my order has been delivered to 20 stour close not 29 Tamar close. the owner did tell the delivery driver this but he did not listen to them. I would request a full refund

The staff are always a delight here! I came in for a good ole gingerbread latte with cream and around 5 mins after I sat down, without even saying a thing a member of staff came over with a tub of extra cream as he felt as though he hadn’t gave me enough. It’s the small things. Made my day.

This place has always been nice to go to. The staff are nice and don't rush you to go and there is a variety if food/desert options. If its your birthday and you've signed up to their mailing list you get a free birthday sundae which you can use within 1 week if your birthday so great if you want to get something but spend much. Its a little expensive but the chances of you leaving with any item and still feeling hungry is incredibly low. There is often kitchen roll on the table to clean up the mess you make and a bucket you can put on your head for fun 😁 I'll keep coming here as people keep getting me vouchers

Visit for a birthday meal and was a little disappointed with the changes to the vegetarian options on the new menu. Gone was the Billy Goats Gruff option to be replaced with a mac and cheese, which was very stodgy in comparison. The Caprese option was nice and definitely looked healthier than the very beige mac and cheese waffle. Always a nice atmosphere and lovely staff, and still the best for a sweet treat, but will probably consider somewhere else if looking for something savoury and vegetarian.

was late and food was cold, ice cream had melted so hardly any left in pot, coffee was cold and nachos were chewy due to being left in the liquid of the food.

Went with my lovely daughter Catherine and had a particularly nice Capaccino coffee, and some exceptional, creamy ice cream..chocolate, lemon meringue and biscotti ice cream. Would recommend!

Tasty waffles, very sweet strawberry sauce, but I guess that's what you'd expect. No oreo `bits` in the ice cream, which was disappointing.

The Works in Aylesbury is a fantastic dessert spot, offering a variety of delicious treats served in crepes or on waffles. Logan’s courtesy elevated the experience. Despite his youth, his chat made the visit enjoyable. Recommended!

Friendly service. Waffles on the thin side in my opinion as they are quite airy and did taste like out of packet mix as opposed to freshly mixed but it was edible and not too sweet. Kids option still on the pricey side considering it’s only half a waffle served instead of a whole one hence why I knocked out a star. Strawberries were fresh and tasty. Cappuccino and latte both tasted the same which was disappointing. Vanilla ice cream was good. Lots of seating with high chair available. A good varied menu.

Dreadfully poor excuse for edible food - how difficult can it be to get Nachos right? Apparently it involves cheap Nachos, a miniscule amount of cheese, and freezing cold toppings...all cheese solidified and tasteless.

My order arrived missing an item, but I couldn’t report it as there was no option to do so. I ordered a Sunday with a waffle but the latter didn’t arrive. I could report that the Sunday didn’t arrive but nothing else.

The restaurant is in the town centre, very convenient. We had breakfast items and coffee, the menu is extensive and plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. However it did not seem to be a very cosy place, with lots of bare wood etc.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, fancy some sweet treats or you just want some great food topped with some great service head here! We were greeted and served by Sydney who confirmed how many of us there would be, took us over to a table making sure of any allergies and if the table was ok before seating us and passing us the menus (including Christmas special menu) Sydney was super friendly, really helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and also had some great recommendations all whilst maintaining that fabulous smile! Absolute asset to the company, should be feel really lucky they have such an employee within their team that is so dedicated to providing the customer experience to the highest standard! I had the Apple and Cinnamon waffle paired with a Biscoff shake (MEGA) absolutely wolfed it down, one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had and matched with the waffle it was the perfect combo for me! Overall cleanliness - the place is obviously kept under good strategic team planning as the place as it reflected in how clean the restaurant and facilities were. I will definitely be back as the customer service alone was inviting and made us feel welcome as soon as we got through the door! Thank you Sydney! Highly recommended place to visit for any local or visitor alike!

We got a delivery the other night when it arrived the order was missing my daughter ice-cream I gave them a call they sent then order out straight away and somthing extra making two very happy children. I believe the lady I spoke to on the phone was Georgia

Been here a few times for ice cream and waffles which is always amazing so decided to give their new christmas wreath making event a try. It was brilliant. Rob was brilliant and showing us what to do and helping us when needed. All the provided materials were wonderful. Plenty to go around. Fantastic evening, fantastic place, overall great experience.

Not as always. Loads of chocolate sauce is missing, items just threw in the box. Made in rush or by inexperienced hands. Of course during the delivery they may have fallen on the bottom of the box, but then they should be dirt of chocolate, not in this case.

Went to The Works to celebrate our 4 year old granddaughters birthday - everyone loved it! From the 4 year old to the 80 year old. I had French toast with maple syrup - amazing! Mom isn’t fond of pancakes or waffles - no problem they made her a bacon and egg sandwich on brioche. They made the birthday girl feel very special. Warm and friendly - the atmosphere and the staff. The works is a favourite of ours and we often ppp in for Sunday pancake breakfast treat. This time we decided to order in as a pre wedding day treat. And it didn’t disappoint. Pancakes and waffles cooked to order with an amazing array of toppings and flavours. And omg the ice cream. Devine. And and and. You can buy it by the ‘bucket’

I had high expectations due to the reviews and it was not great. The strawberries are soggy which ended up making the waffle soggy and mushy. Ended up being unbearable to eat.

Staff are very kind and professional. Food that I've had so far is amazing. The only thing that would make the place better is serving "hardened milkshakes".
