The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Classic chippy, don't order more than small fries unless you have the appetite of two people. Chips were spot on, Cod was nice although personally I like a bit more batter so you can eat it without burning your fingers. Kids enjoyed their meals. 5 year old said "best burger ever"

Great pub ,good food and friendly staff. Nice pub to end a busy day sightseeing. Even posted my daughters coat back to us in Essex.

Lovely little pub, landlady always friendly and always chatty to everyone. The best atmosphere and always smells lush!

Disappointing to be honest, wont be returning in a hurry. The landlord/chef was incredibly rude to my Mum when we went to pay our bill. He shouted from across the restaurant asking what our table number was in a very abrupt manner. This took a while to spot as it was faintly scribbled on the top of a mustard pot. As he walked away he said "bloody hell you need to go to specsavers, if you can't see that.. you've got a serious problem." Incredibly rude and put a dampener on our otherwise lovely lunch.

We did a hike in the area and called into the Fox for lunch and a pint. The pub exterior looked a bit tired so our expectations weren't high, However, as soon as we entered the pub and were met with a friendly welcome things started to look up. Like a previous reviewer we had the tuna sandwich and the steak burger with Stilton but our experience was far more positive. The food was simple but very tasty, especially the chunky chips. Likewise the beer was well kept and very refreshing after a long walk. There was a large group of ramblers in the pub who had clearly arranged to park in the pub car park before doing their walk. They all appeared to be enjoying their post walk food & drinks too.

We had been recommended to try thisRestaurant having been frequent users of many Pub/Restaurants in the area. We were made very welcome and were impressed with the range of food available at lunchtime. The food was promptly served and very well presented. Generous portions, a little too much for us but this will be welcomed by most customers! The staff were friendly and efficient. We have since made two further visits with friends and family.

I have cycled past here so very very often and never tried the cafe. I should have read the reviews on here first! I stopped for a latte and a cake and the guy working here I am sure does not drink coffee. He was so out of his depth with the coffee machine I ended up with just hot milk!! In the old adage “You only get one chance to make a good first impression” Sorry but this time you failed. Yelling at me when I left that I could not go down and look at the lake as I might upset the fishermen having earlier told me there were no fishermen was not worth debating either. In short if you fish here use the cafe, if you are passing…… Keep on passing.

Lovely place to eat. In the middle of a picturesque village. Attention to detail. Rustic décor. Food quality was excellent. Well worth a trip.

Staff are very rude and won't go back also says they're wheelchairs accessible massive step just to get up

Had a good evening at The Luzborough with two friends. The main server was Louisa. She is so bubbly friendly and attentive.

Busy but friendly. Recommended for coeliacs. Recommended with children and dogs. Plenty of parking.

Clean and bright with cheerful service. Very reasonable prices for simple lunchtime portions served promptly.
