Friendly staff great atmosphere for live music.

Order was wrong but the chef stepped in immediately and cooked the right meal as fast as he could safely and then bought it out himself. Fantastic food. Service slow, they seemed to find it hard to hear the food bell.

I went to the Green man last night for their relaunch with my family and I cannot recommend it enough! Every single staff member was so friendly. We got to sample lots of different foods off their menu, now I am a fussy eater but there was so much food that I would eat and their food is amazing, so delicious. So much so me and my husband have booked for valentines day! They had a musician, he sang and played his guitar - he is so talented and has such a beautiful voice. They have a great selection of drinks and cocktails too! You must go and try it out! This is our new favourite pub to go to. Thank you so much for a lovely evening!

Lovely Sunday roast. A bit quiet but it was the 5th January. Will be going back this year.

My wife and I had a great meal last night. The food was great and the service was excellent. The atmosphere will only get better once everyone discovers that the great old days are back at The Green Man. And the current offer should encourage everyone to give it a visit. We just had an amazing lunch by the fire at the Green man. Simply and well executed meal in a very relax and peaceful atmosphere. A massive thank you to Axel for looking after us and Lee . Highly recommended .

We had a great time at the Green Man on New Years Eve. The head chef Georgia got in touch with us personally beforehand to help us plan our menu as it was a busy night and we had a table of 9. Service was friendly and efficient on the night, the bar staff were great fun and we loved the DJ. All had a great time - thank you, Jo

We had a wonderful roast dinner today, it’s was the best pub roast, I had in long time, very accommodating to my son’s non-veg with extra potatoes, and extra gravy. Service was excellent I certainly will be going back. We really enjoyed it. Thank you guys mandy ellis

A great pub with friendly staff and a good selection of drinks and food. "The Famous Axel Burger" was absolutely delicious! But beware of Axel himself, he can be generous with the shots! Had a great time and will definitely be back

Treat yourself and pay a visit to eat - you will not be disappointed! Currently tucking into the best lamb rump and chorizo stuffed chicken we’ve ever eaten. Absolutely delicious!

We'd read that this was under new management and trying to attract families, so took our twin girls for dinner. The Manager was delightful and really went out of his way to make us all feel welcome, kids included. There were good choices for both adults and children on the menu and the food was really tasty and well presented. The pub itself was lively for a Friday night, but the restaurant seating area is tucked away and was spacious, well lit and clean. We all had a really wonderful meal and are planning to return again this weekend with more family friends.

Celebrated my birthday with bottomless brunch and what a great day. Food was lovely and the service great. Have also tried the Sunday roast which was amazing and can definitely recommend!

Four of us went to this pub for lunch. We hadn't been before (despite being locals) but had seen some recent good reviews following the establishment's refurbishment since new management at the beginning of the year. We were not disappointed. The pub is well appointed with comfortable interior furnishings. We were greeted by a warm welcome from the new manager, Axel. There is a good drinks menu, including a range of draught beers. The regular printed food menu was varied, and there were a number of additional daily specials. The portion sizes were ample, and all our meals were of very high quality, representing good value for money. We were all very glad we decided to go this this pub, and will certainly be back.

Been in twice since it reopened with new management. Welcoming, good service, really enjoyed the Sunday roast and plenty of options for children's food. Will definitely return!

We came here for the bottomless brunch and thought it was just bottomless drink and a breakfast for a girlies catch up and we’re literally so surprised to see a singer with a guitar who was just amazing (@averagejoegunner on insta) Hayley who was host on the day was so on the ball with topping up our glasses teamed with Joe taking our requests we have had the best day will defo be back what value for money! Defo 5 star

Met up for a family lunch - the pub was unusually quiet for a Sunday, which suited us perfectly. We all had roasts, the sharing trio was particularly good value. Could not fault the service, the food was well presented and delicious. Only negative was that we were too full to manage desserts, so will have to do that next time!! Thoroughly recommended, thank you.

Great experience, especially with the pool table

I rarely recommend or do reviews as everyone likes different things. But have to let you all know that I’ve just had a fab roast at the Famous Green Man. It was quiet there but didn’t deserve to be. The host was charming and when he knew it was my birthday insisted I have a large glass on the house! Please do consider it next time you’re looking for a Sunday lunch venue!

Came here for a paint and sip event in July and liked the menu so popped back tonight and enjoyed freshly made pizza. Yum yum. Lovely pub and friendly staff. Pooch enjoyed her visit too.

Visited this evening (29/7/24), with my wife. Am shocked at the price of a pint of Stella plus a medium white wine (with Soda) £13.45! No wonder there was only about 6 people in the establishment. Will not be returning here again in a hurry!

Had an excellent meal. Freshly cooked. Presented really well. Service was 10 out of 10. Could not do enough for us. Great value for money. Not over priced for good quality food. Completely refurbished with comfortable, colour furniture. Definitely worth a visit.

Upgraded from the down at heel pub it had become. Newly refurbished restaurant area separate to the bar. Good selection of food .Service outstanding . As a Gastronomic pub finding its way but promises to be a great asset to Ewell Village worth a visit . There is plenty of parking immediately behind and also outside seating right in the middle of the historic village of Ewell.

Would definitely recommend this pub for food. Had all 3 courses and the quality , presentation was superb . Will be be going back to try the Sunday roast 👌

This Pub has gone down hill and it’s such a shame. Only 1 tv working properly the other one had a delay of 40 seconds so when watching the football half the pub cheers before the other half knows the outcome. They decided to plonk a pool table in the middle of the main drinking / sports watching area. Patrons just use it as a bench and put their drinks on it. They’ve put the price of drinks up, I don’t know why anyone drinks there to be honest. On a good note, Friendly efficient staff.

Had a very good evening at this pub and must say the bar staff are really welcoming and friendly. The band had everyone up dancing and singing with a variety of songs and the management have really made this pub come to life again.

This place has been on a downward slope for some time now. Has new managers but they were only given a short lease by stonegate brewery so wisely they have not invested a lot.

Pub has changed hands since my original review and things have changed a great deal. Not for the better either. Atmosphere has got rougher, it is less family orientated and they do not do food anymore. Used to love this pub but now I don't really want to go in anymore. Shame for me, but they do seem to be doing a good trade so obviously works for other people.

Very well appointed and great service. Loads of TVs for sport. Friendly place.

This pub would benefit from a refresh, the interior is very drab and dreary. The staff are friendly and there is an OK selection of beers. The pub doesn't serve food which is a shame.

John and his team are great .....pop in for a pint, and the Sunday roast is worth trying. Ideally located with a carpark towards the rear accessed via ,free on a Sunday.

Dropped in for a few drinks last night. Staff were great and the drinks were very good value. Nearly half the price of somewhere like Wimbledon. The pub itself is okay. Perhaps a little stark inside, hence the four stars.

Breaking COVID rules! We visited yesterday and there were two tables with more than 6 people on! I heard the bar man say, ‘it’s fine, you don’t look sick’! The pub was so busy which is great for the business but not for COVID!

Ewell is not a poor area, but this place really should be able to produce a better impression overall. Could do better at making people welcome

Bit cold but we had blankets to keep us warm and the burgers were great!

Unfortunately this visit was not a pleasant one. Firstly, there an obscene amount of passive aggressive signs (many contradicting each other) all over the pubs and toilets. The oneway system implemented simply just forces you to not socially distance while passing tables. The staff were unwelcoming and it almost felt like they were doing you a favour by serving you. We apparently missed the kitchen hours (probably the only thing that wasn't on a sign), so couldn't try the food. The ale was okay, and the pints a reasonable price for the area.

First pint and light lunch following lock down , well organized , with clear signs and all necessary policies and procedures in place inside and outside with plenty of hand sanitizers .

Fantastic service and Sunday roast was the best value for money in town... highly recommend

My friend and I were really looking forward to seeing elvis as we saw George Micheal last time. It was horrendous we could not even see Elvis as there were too many people in the pub people were standing on the dance floor, this was only at 830 people were so drunk pushing into you we felt so intimidated. There were no bouncers on the door if a fight broke out we would not have had a chance to get out. Such a shame we had to leave. We were outside and other ladies were saying exactly the same

Absolutely marvellous pub yo eat & visit. The food is beautiful, menu different. We had burgers & chips. The choice is clasdic, spanish, french. Cheese chips are generously covered in chips. Even the lime & soda has the above amount of lime cordial. The 2 ladies serving are efficient & knowledgeable of the menu. Enough so I overheard them describing to a customer how an item on menu was cooked. Beautiful & warm. Spotlessly clean. Love visiting The Famous Green Man.

I can't write my review from a restaurant point of view as we did not eat here. We were there for an Elvis tribute night. What a party atmosphere, the place was packed when we arrived and "Elvis" was belting out the tunes. A mixtures of ages from people in there 20's up to 50 plus and every one was dancing and mixing really well. The bar staff where friendly and very quick as they were serving a lot of people. Great place to go when there is a tribute act.

Good beer in a friendly local pun

Well positioned in the centre of Ewell with plenty of seating including outside. Very friendly and good food and drink. I am not a pub person regularly but this would be the one i would choose in Ewell, judging from my visits and the view of many others

After not visiting the Green Man for several years I decided whilst visiting Ewell village that I would make a point of stopping here for lunch. In the past the green man had been a great place for home-cooked high quality pub lunches, busy and thriving at lunchtimes. Although the decor was different than previously remembered and not exactly pub-style I pursued with the idea of having lunch here. We should have realised straightaway that it was a different place now, when we walked as there was a lack of staff and people in the place. The food ordered for lunch was arrived and pretty disappointing and not what I would call home-cooked food, more microwaved and packet food. I did mention to the waitress that one of the dishes really wasn’t great when she came to collect the plates, (only a small amount had been eaten) to which she replied ‘Oh’. In my opinion the pub needs to hire a proper pub chef to cook the classic dishes offered, which will encourage patrons back. Sorry guys, I think you know you need to do it all a bit better, probably recognising you’re struggling and perhaps respond to the advice thats given on trip advisor, and I don’t mean just mine.

We had a charity event at The Famous Green Man where the chef prepared a bar-b-que. There were many choices available. The Chef pointed out his specialty Paella and it was certainly worth having. Hope he has it on the menu again.

Reasonable vegan burger bit no vegan cider or dessert.

This will be the 1st and last visit to this pub for lunch in my opinion. We ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans and for drinks we had 2 j20’s the total came to £21.10 which at after sitting down for 10 mins with our drinks it clicked that we had been overcharged by £4 which they did kindly refund us. when the potatoes arrived, I thought they had split a large jack potato and spread it across 2 plates as the portion was raver small. It looked like the whole thing had been re microwaved and the taste wasn’t anything special. However it was nice sitting in the bear garden which virtually had to ourselves, should of looked at trip advisor first maybe and then our expectations wouldn’t of been high.
