Me and my wife just had Sunday dinner . And most certainly will be returning to this lovely pub and very friendly staff . Who can't do enough to help you thank you all

What a find! Chose this as could take the dog. Arrived 30 min before kitchen closed so didn’t expect much but was very surprised to be presented with excellent food that was obviously cooked by a top quality chef. We had a selection of dishes including a pork Sunday roast, hake, cheeseburger and one of their trio dishes of haloumi, wings and squid. All meals were excellent, very flavourful and perfectly cooked. £80 for four meals and drinks - absolute bargain. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and lovely traditional pub furnishings. Very pleasantly surprised and would not hesitate to recommend. Well done to The Marquis of Granby in Epsom - a fabulous example of how it should be done.

What a find! Chose because could take our dog with us but was not expecting such amazing food. Had multiple different dishes off the menu (pork belly Sunday lunch, hake, chicken, cheese burger) and everything was cooked to perfection. Excellent customer service from Aiden. He is very polite and helpful on pricing. He is also friendly and can have a nice conversation with him.

…Not even worth reviewing. I will never visit this place again, unless under new management. Zero service, zero welcome. Low grade cuisine. Not restored. I’m referring to a manager, who did not only have a dignity to be at least a bit happy for a foreign guest, but had a courage to disgrace the whole area of Epsom with this attitude.

Amazing Pub with a great atmosphere. Had a great meal here of fish And chips And would definitely reccomened. Friendly staff that took Care of us all night, notibly Holly And Leah who had amazing attentive servie all night, amazing staff! Highly recommend

Beautiful old building, plethora of delectable drinks, and wonderful kind staff. The girl who served me, Leah, went above and beyond to ensure my dietary requirements were accommodated. Excellent atmosphere and loud and punchy band carrying us through the weekend. Definitely would recommend this pub!

Unusually bad, food cold, Bloody Mary’s not properly mixed. Maybe due to staff spending more time sitting on the terrace socialising that actually caring about customer service. As the most expensive pub in Epsom, you expect good service & hot food @ decent drinks.

Amazing atmosphere with great food and drinks. A little bit pricy but not the end of the world. Staff behind the bar are speedy and friendly however... there is one blond lady behind the bar who is very disrespectful, I think I heard the staff call her Ellie but I may be mistaken. She seemed unkind when asking what you would like to drink saying "What do you want" isn't nice and tutting everytime someone comes to the bar. I also noticed her ignore other customers who had been waiting for a while to instead serve who I assumed was her friends. I also think it is not nice for her to roll up her top up showing off her stomach to customers. It's such a shame as a lot of the staff are super friendly and everything else is great, it shouldn't be let down by one lazy rude barperson letting everyone else down.

Staff very friendly, lunchtime special good value and food excellent. Lovely outside area to enjoy on a sunny Aug day. I would certainly recommend The Marquis of Granby.

Very nice pub and staff but charging over £10 for a large glass of white wine spritzer I think is excessive. The sharing plates of food however were delicious and arrived promptly, nice and hot. Will return but give the wine spritzers a miss!!

We went there the other day and got food as well as alcohol. We were served by Leah and Isla, who were very friendly and welcoming as well as quick. The plant-based burger and fish and chips were delicious. The toilets were good quality and clean. The parking was easy and free if you register at the bar.

Food was amazing and the staff were exceptional especially Leah and Aiden. The fish and chips were to die for!! Thanks for the hospitality

It's very unassuming frontage hides a very pleasant pub. Maybe it was because it was a Thursday night but it was quite spacious and we could hear ourselves talking. The staff were pleasant enough doing what they had to. It was clean and tidy, plenty of seating both inside and out.

Come here every week and the staff are lovely. Want to give props to the team that was there the last time I was. Siobhan, Aiden, Holly, Isla. Well done to you guys your the best!!!

Book this for a 80th birthday accommodating 20people including 7children table was ready for us one arrival and waiter were waiting for us and welcomed us some had carvy some had of the menu both was excellent food and top quality service and accommodate all are needs and even accommodate individual family paying there own bill they were very helpful and friendly and welcoming will be differently returning agina even though we traveled from reading

We booked a table for 15 for a birthday celebration to turn up and find that there were only 10 seats. After we found a staff member, we were told we could rearrange the tables ourselves to make 15. We mostly ordered roast dinners and found that: 1) The potatoes were dry and tasteless, 2) The chicken and sausages looked undercooked and at this point no member of staff came to check up on us and our food until they cleared the plates 3) We had a birthday cake and requested a knife to cut it which was filthy with food stuck onto it! 4) No member of staff was around for us to request the bill, and after doing so we were left waiting ages for them to collect the money, we ended up going to the bar to pay. Half of our party has experienced severe sickness after our visit and so the lack of hygiene and undercooked food of this pub has led us to believe we contracted it here.

I had a beef roast on Sunday to celebrate a birthday and have since come down with a bad case of food poisoning. Three people in our party have experienced vomiting and a few more have been ill. Food wasn’t that great but still shocked at how ill I have been because of it. Do not eat here

Absolutely the worst draught beer I have ever had, every pint was flat. Total waste of money, shan’t be returning until the management clean the pipes & I’ve heard better things about it.

I have been coming to the Marquis for years. The atmosphere and friendly staff were part of the draw. Yesterday was an exception. The young lady who served us could be best described as surly and disinterested. The fact she brought us the wrong wine made her annoyed and frustrated, added to that she had to use a corkscrew was clearly an inconvenience for her. Made worse for her by the fact that she broke the cork. Not an apology from her, just some flouncing. Highly unprofessional. I did not recognise any of the staff tonight. I usually rate the food well but last night my friend's burger was burnt and my caesar salad was not good, the chicken was very dry. I mentioned it to the man who came to clear the plates and his reply : "well you should have said something earlier" incredibly unprofessional. I think the whole bar staff seemed more interested in themselves and each other than the customers. Not at all good! Very disappointing.

Quiet Friday lunch time. It is an old style pub, now a brasserie type model. Plenty of outside seating so probably much busier from June.

Visited this pub last minute last Saturday lunch time. The pub was pretty much empty when we got there, we ordered food which took an hour to get to the table, when it did it I had to force it down because I was starving. I had the chicken and bacon burger, as did my mum. The bun was cheap and falling apart it was so dry, the chicken was burnt and dry, in the burger with that was half an iceberg lettuce (shredded) and two slices of cucumber. The chips were also on the nearly burnt side. My brother had the kids sausage and chips, he couldn’t eat the sausage it was so dry so we had to get him a sandwich later on. He was hoping to get a pudding from the kids menu but we were rushed for time seeing as they were taking so long to serve us, considering the pub was empty aside from a couple dining alone, we were there over 2 hours and only had one (disappointing) course. The service wasn’t great. The two girls weren’t rude but weren’t very pleasant, they mumbled, didn’t make eye contact, no smiles. The only saving grace of the place is the music👏🏻

Our waiter had no patience and rushed us. We were a party of 10, he took about 4 orders then said.. is that it… we said no… he took a few more orders and said it again.. we felt really rushed then he got part of the order wrong so we had to wait for the replacement

Mothers day roast..had the chicken but the roast potatoes were hard as a rock I thought they was deep fried but asked waitress she said there cooked in the oven!..enjoyed most of the dinner but looking forward to my roasties and not good at all

I just wanted to say a big thank you to your team yesterday. They were so helpful from our arrival. Everything was set up and ready to get our bits in too. They even went and found us a spare vase for the flowers instead of just putting them in some water! All the bar staff were lovely and loads of people mentioned the level of service. The food came out perfectly on time and was piping hot which was perfect, could tell it was fresh and hadn’t just been sat there waiting to come out. We will definitely be back for another event we all have together. Thank you again. Would highly recommend.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere. Leah provided great service and all the staff were really friendly. Updating my review as another review question if some were legit. Well here’s a bit more detail and evidence. I’ve been a few times and always had a good experience. Both for eating ( recommend the veggie burger) and for social, including a fantastic night on New Year’s Eve. They had live music from a fantastic live band “Cellar Door” who had the pub rocking 🤘🤘🤘

The pub had not long opened for lunch, yet most tables had clearly not being cleaned, they had clearly not been cleaned before the pub had re-opened. Been short on time we found a cleaner table and decided to stay for lunch. Food was quite good and a nice variety of dishes. Would probably not go again due to lack of cleanliness
