The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Came with family for food highly disappointed manager walked past and didn't acknowledged us food was awful needs sorting soon won't be back in a hurry

Hello all, we haven’t been to this hotel although I am utterly disgusted by the email I got back after asking to do a paranormal investigation here one day, I was very polite and asked very nicely, and also said it’s fine if not, and got a horrible email back, picture below, I’m not sure why this response was needed, that was the first time emailing them. If the hotel sees this, I’m am super unhappy, next time, email me back politely.

Great food and service. When they are open that is. New owners think they can run it partime . Can’t see them staying in business long.

We had to ask where our table was, and the manager initially joked that it was outside. Then, a barmaid explained where it was. We then went and sat at the table. We sat there for about ten minutes before I realised we had to order our drinks at the bar. I then went over to order the drinks. The syrup ran out on the coke, so the last drink was brought to us, but we carried the rest over. Unfortunately, the coke poured before the syrup ran out was very watery. But Martin didn't want to complain, so we bought him another later. The landlady apologised that several items were unavailable that were pre-ordered from the festive menu due to a supply issue, so we had the alternatives offered instead. My meal was ok, but the vegetables were cold, and I didn't have as much food as the non-vegan gluten-containing diners. Also the steak was very difficult to eat as it was very tough, but again, Martin didn't want to complain. The crackers were a nice touch. The overall experience was ok.

Myself and my husband came for my early birthday lunch today. We both had the lasagna, garlic bread and salad, which was lovely. For desserts i had the chocolate brownie with cream and my husband had the apple crumble and custard, both desserts were really good. We only had water to drink. The food was good quality and quantity, and the pub not too busy, but a nice atmosphere there today. Service and staff very good. I am looking forward to returning again next week with my friend.

We had been recommended to try thisRestaurant having been frequent users of many Pub/Restaurants in the area. We were made very welcome and were impressed with the range of food available at lunchtime. The food was promptly served and very well presented. Generous portions, a little too much for us but this will be welcomed by most customers! The staff were friendly and efficient. We have since made two further visits with friends and family.

Absolutely rip off payed £14.40 for a Cruz campo and small bottle Prosecco l never doing in here again

I have cycled past here so very very often and never tried the cafe. I should have read the reviews on here first! I stopped for a latte and a cake and the guy working here I am sure does not drink coffee. He was so out of his depth with the coffee machine I ended up with just hot milk!! In the old adage “You only get one chance to make a good first impression” Sorry but this time you failed. Yelling at me when I left that I could not go down and look at the lake as I might upset the fishermen having earlier told me there were no fishermen was not worth debating either. In short if you fish here use the cafe, if you are passing…… Keep on passing.

Lovely meal and would definitely recommend the gourmet burger!

This place has become almost a second home for me. Three staff in particular make being served a treat, Rhydian, Tyler and Shane. I would recommend this place as a pub and a nice place to eat.

There is not enough choice for vegetarians. Vegetable lasagne ( unavailable ) and two others. Not good enough!

The staff were friendly and attentive,but; 1.my turkey roast dinner had only one small slice of turkey.When I asked ,if I could have at least another slice ,the server said yes,but it was never forthcoming. 2.a vegetarian member of our group ordered a vegetarian Wellington and received a vegetarian pie(I.e not a Wellington)and it was fairly tasteless. We have been regular customers at The Bull for 5 years or so,but do not now feel inclined to return
