Once shown to our table it was obvious the place wasn’t cleaned properly. My feet were sticking to tenge floor, the table wasn’t clean and neither were the surrounding ledges. I ordered a bacon and cheese burger, which, when it arrived, was small and the burger was like eating a burnt brick, it must have been cooked for hours. I was so disgusted that I asked the waiter to take it away and that I didn’t want a replacement. I am 60 years old and this is the first time I have ever returned a meal. My husband refused to pay for the meal although the waiter did try to charge us for half of it, even tough I had had about one mouthful. Needless to say we will never visit this establishment again.

After so many poor reviews we thought we would try POW for dinner. Menu was good and selection broad and interesting however; - orangery was very cold - we all wore jackets - a tasty sharing plate with not a lot on it for £31 ! - all our dishes were luke warm - lamb ragu was greasy mince bolognaise - fish pie OK but would be better in a flatter dish ? With a bit of cheese on top ! - venison loin was good and tasty On a positive note the pudding was wonderful and our service excellent. Always difficult to rate pub food as its often brought centrally and is very samey but if the POW want to charge these prices they need to up their game.

3 of us went to the Hornbrook for lunch , myself, my friend and her disabled brother who uses a wheelchair, it hadn’t been the first time we had been there, it was a few occasions, we had asked for a child’s meal for the brother as he doesn’t have a large appetite despite him being an adult and due to him having a high palate he can only eat certain foods, we were told by the landlady that as from October we would not be able to order from the children’s menu and they would offer lighter options, we explained the situation to her and she didn’t appear to be interested, we have made the decision to never go there again, the landlady is very up her own backside and it’s been noticed that she treats some people differently to others, also they do not take cash anymore and when asked why she said it was the brewery’s decision which I know is a lie because the Goffs Manor in Crawley who are owned by the same brewery do take cash . So basically I do not recommend it to anyone let alone someone with a disability

An absolutely outstanding pub! While it can get busy at times, the exceptional service from the superb managers and amazing staff truly stands out. The food is not only delicious but also very reasonably priced. This place is a gem, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Tucked away in a picturesque corner of the Cotswolds in Kingham this delightful restaurant offers a cozy, intimate setting perfect for enjoying expertly crafted dishes. Though we opted for just a selection of small bites, each dish was a testament to the chef’s commitment to fresh, local eco ingredients and bold, balanced flavors. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting, rustic charm, and a relaxed vibe that made it easy to unwind. The staff were attentive and friendly, offering just the right amount of guidance as we navigated the menu, which featured a variety of intriguing, bite-sized plates designed for sharing by the open fire! Great Christmas atmosphere! The casual yet refined atmosphere, paired with the exquisite small bites, made for a truly memorable dining experience. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over conversation and a glass of wine, enjoying the wonderful food in a setting that feels both cozy and special. Whether you’re looking for a casual evening or a more intimate gathering, this Cotswolds gem is a must-visit for anyone seeking great food in a charming, welcoming atmosphere.
