I think it’s important to state that we have been going to this pub for many years for family occasions and always loved the food and service albeit it’s often overbooked. We booked six weeks prior to Mother’s Day and on arrival for our table had to wait 18 minutes outside the front of the pub (it was so busy) before our table was ready. This was not ideal due to having a 9 month old baby in tow. Once seated it took a while for drinks to arrive. Starters came fairly quick but the mackerel pate was inedible due to what seemed a whole pot of coarse salt being mixed in. Following starters it was over an hour before our mains arrived. Which meant members of our party had to quickly eat and leave due to having a young baby with them. The mains were fine but just not the usual quality we have experienced at pub. We constantly had to chase for drinks but I think this was due to the fact it had overbooked for Mother’s Day. When the bill came only one started had been removed and no other gesture made for the fact we were seated very late or did not receive mains for over an hour. We would not recommend coming here if it’s a national holiday or a special occasion. They purposefully overbook incase they have cancellations which causes chaos. I would like to say though that the young girl waiting our table was trying her upmost and checked in as much as she could but she too was overstretched.

A Pint at The Three Horseshoes, Laleham The Three Horseshoes in Laleham is a charming pub that offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The beer selection is excellent, with a variety of ales and lagers to choose from. I enjoyed a refreshing pint of a local brew, which was perfectly served and hit the spot. The pub's outdoor seating area is a highlight, especially on a sunny day. It's a great place to relax and enjoy your drink while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Overall, The Three Horseshoes is a fantastic spot for a pint. Whether you're catching up with friends or just unwinding, this pub provides a perfect setting.

It’s a go to ….. anyone that I’ve taken there have loved it ….. but…… last three times, last night included, we have waited so long for our food, we’re sitting there watching the staff reset and rearrange the tables, and our fod is just sitting under a lamp in the kitchen, when it comes the food lukewarm …… Well go back though, because the pub, atmosphere and food is good….. even when you’ve waited over and hour for it

Happy customers! We booked a table for 8 for our grandmas birthday. All the food was delicious. The kids had pizza and schnitzel, the adults had the duck special, salmon and sea bream dishes. All delivered fast and with friendly service. Bar drinks were quick to order despite it being a busy Saturday. Staff work really hard and geared up for fast and efficient service but always friendly. Nothing was too much trouble when my daughter ordered an iced coffee which wasn’t even on the menu. Even though the pub was very busy, everything was perfect, especially when they came out with the birthday cake (which they kindly agreed to when I brought it in earlier that day) with candles lit and everyone singing happy birthday. Grandma was so happy. And we all had a great time. Thank you so much. We’ll be back!

The food was great. Value for money is aligned with what to expect. 25 quid for starter and main. Sunday lunch was decent. 2 comments. I think the food was forgotten somewhat so there was 20-30 mins between starter and main. Then when the main came it was meat and potstoes, followed by yorksire, followed by the veg. So there was a 5-10 min wait between getting the first part of main and the last part which was a bit odd. Food was good though and the heated outside area was nice!

A Perfect Valentine’s Celebration! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful experience at The Three Horseshoes in Laleham last night while celebrating Valentine’s Day. Despite the pub being very busy, we were given a private and cosy spot, which made our evening even more special. A special mention to Kieran, who served us with great politeness and attentiveness—his warm and friendly service truly enhanced our experience. It was lively on a Saturday evening, but we booked a table and only had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated. The food was done well and tasted great, but the service was flawed, causing some frustration. Staff was polite, though they let some things slip through, which was probably due to how busy they were. Part of my FIL’s food was cold; my husband didn’t get his mixed salad; and my Keralan curry was missing the sweet potato crisps. As well, our food took ages to arrive. We were also seated in a room reserved for large parties. We were initially the only ones there, but two separate groups eventually arrived, causing the room to be really noisy. We had trouble holding a conversation amongst ourselves. I understand that the pub wants to maximise the number of tables that they can squeeze in, but a group of four competing with two large squawking parties doesn’t make for a pleasant dining experience. When we left, we walked through the main dining area, which was much more peaceful in comparison despite being quite full. Not sure if I’d come back. At the very least, I’d look into less busy times.

Food and pub is excellent. Would recommend However as much as we love interiors abs vibe we can’t recommend sleeping over. The kitchen staff puts loud music on until about 11/11:30 and as it’s an old pub feel like coming through wall. Delicious food in a gorgeous pub/restaurant. We’ve eaten here several times. Most recently, we both had the pork t bone and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Fish and chips are also really good. Ask to sit in the pub alcove if you like a cosy pew, otherwise there’s a larger restaurant area. Great wine selection, New Zealand sav blanc is very refreshing. Cocktails are not their forte. Dog friendly 🩷 Would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

I wasn't sure how to rate my experience as the standard of the food was so mixed. As it was during the Christmas period they were extremely busy and trying to cater for two menus - their standard menu and Christmas menu - and as it turned out this was a step too far for them. If you are visiting during the christmas period here are my dishes to avoid and dishes to go for: AVOID: Prawn cocktail - the blandest and smallest portion of prawn cocktail we've ever had. No seasoning, prawns that tasted of water served with a bland mayonnaise rather than the expected marie rose sauce - very disappointing and one to definitely avoid. AVOID: Christmas pudding - unfortunately a laughable size looking like a little rock in a sea of custard. I actually started laughing when it was served to my brother which didn't make him feel much better. AVOID: The specials board had a T Bone Pork Chop. Unfortunately it was all bone with a T and L bone in one chop! And with plenty of gristle and fat, the amount of actual meat virtually defined it as a vegetarian dish. Maybe we were unfortunate but if the kitchen has such a dodgy piece of meat it should not be served to customers. ADEQUATE: Christmas turkey dinner - perfectly adequate with nice stuffing and large chipolata but not much turkey meat. One slice of white meat and one slice of dark meat. So if you don't like dark meat I wouldn't bother. Unfortunately it was also somewhat cold and the vegetables that were meant for two were really only a portion for one. ADEQUATE: Cod Fillet - apparently this was very nice but again the portion size of the cod was small. ADEQUATE: Salt and Pepper Squid - very tasty but small portion again. ADEQUATE: Pork belly - everything was OK with this dish. GREAT: Bang bang cauliflower - wonderful smell from this dish and generous portion. GREAT: Mackerel pate - very tasty pate and a normal portion serving. GREAT: Vegetarian haggis and mushroom wellington - homemade, large serving and very tasty by all accounts. GREAT: Sticky toffee pudding - wonderful sponge with plenty of toffee sauce and a good size portion. Overall we enjoyed our dinner but we probably wouldn't come back durung the Christmas period. A theme of small portions ran throughout many of the dishes and with the Christmas menu at £37 for 3 courses, although this is not expensive, sticking with their standard menu is probably the less risky and better value option. On a positive note fair play to the staff. The pub was fully booked for the entire weekend with some tables particularly rowdy. But they did a great job considering the circumstances.

We popped in for a drink a while ago and said we'd be back to sample the Sunday roast. Well, we weren't disappointed. After a frustrating start when the staff didn't even acknowledge our existence (a simple smile and "I'll be with you in a moment" would've been amazing) our experience was uphill all the way. We arrived early enough to grab one of only 4 tables available in the bar that weren't reserved as the place was fully booked, so felt very lucky. I had a mulled wine (and then another as it was good and hot) and the veggie roast. He had the turkey. Both dishes were plentiful, colourful with a large dish of vegetables on the side. We also ordered the cauliflower and broccoli cheese, which I highly recommend. We were both extremely impressed with the quality, quantity and flavour of the meal. Judging by the capacity of the pub, everyone in the area feels the same way! We didn't have starters, but watching the prawn cocktails being taken to other tables, I'd recommend trying one alongside the main roast. Definitely recommend the Three Horseshoes to anyone. Couldn't fault anything. But it's popular, so book a table to be sure.

Our two waiters (Lee and Emily) could not do enough for us. My son has multiple food allergies and Emily was thorough in checking with kitchen staff, and her manager, to make sure the chef was aware of the situation and that the allergen menu was accurate. This was hugely reassuring for us and not once was we made to feel like this was an inconvenience. Despite it being a fairly busy Monday night, service was fab. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food which was absolutely delicious. Lee was fantastic - very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. A very enjoyable meal with a lovely pub atmosphere. Two heaters were not working, only 4 blankets on whole premises which were being used by other guests. We were frozen, all sat in coats throughout! The service was exceptionally slow, our starters did not arrive until 16.00hrs , over an hour since placing the order. The food itself was not hot, weather and distance from the kitchen certainly not good. I believe more attention and space should be given to your customers , you pack folk in like sardines and the waiting staff are run ragged. Visited for a family Sunday lunch. We were a big group but felt a bit squeezed in. It would seem emphasis is on filling the pub and making money than the comfort of the customer but that's life. However, we had very long waits between each courses, exceptionally long. The food was ok but my roast was luke warm and the gravy had dried out on the plate. For what we paid and the number on our table very small portions of side veggies. The manager or chap in charge seemed oblivious to customers and looked a little bamboozled. Personally and I know you won't but think a little more about the customer and space out your seating or better reduce the tables so that the young staff who were working their feet off aren't so overstretched! Also clear the plates might deter the flies that were prevalent on our visit. We moved outside to have a drink to stretch our legs and flies were swarming over dirty plates left on tables. Sorry lovely venue, edible meal bit definitely not worth the money!

I took two friends, and we all had a really great meal, the food was perfect, the service was perfect, what more can I say, I think the three horseshoes is always well worth a visit :-)

It has gone downhill from last time I visit. The food still great, but the service, I was shocked at how slow the service was and how confused all the staff was, I suppose that's the norm nowadays, shame

Great food and service. Would recommend and re visit. Only downside was a small yapping terrier dog but no the pubs failing.

Great venue, loved the outside music. Table was late but hey ho that's life. Unfortunately they had ran out of lamb and ribs... but there's other options. Unfortunately a dog/fox had soiled the area where we were eating, I don't think I expected waiting staff to pick it up , but made me uncomfortable every time they approached the table , asking them to avoid the area. Female waitress seemed rude, asked if I could swap the salad/croutons /ham, to the previous offering of chips, was told to order a side dish. At £19 a main and £6 a side I think this was a bit rude, if my request couldn't be met, I'd rather pick something else . Unfortunately this was the first mediocre experience I've had at what usually is a lovely day out ..

It was a very busy evening so had to wait a short while for the food, it was worth it. Staff work very hard and are very polite. Lovely place for a celebratory meal.

Nice place to have lunch. Burger was OK, fish&chips very good, schnitzel, what to say, iti is not what you expect if you had it in Austria. Atmosphere is good, sevice on its level for the pub, cannot complain.

Had an amazing meal here last night. The outside patio area has been so nicely done, and we were really well looked after by Jenna - very attentive and chatty. The food was great, plenty to choose from and very reasonably priced. Would definitely come back. Big shout out to Deputy Manager John, who came over to check we were ok - such a nice guy. These guys deserve all the success that comes their way…

We had a quick brunch in the garden while walking the Thames Path. A nice environmental, good service and food.

Me and my girlfriend Had a very bad experience yesterday at The Retreat. Ordered two burgers which were 2 for 1. Both came out basically cremated and like cardboard. The chips were undercooked. The Calamari we had as a starter was flavourless and so cheap. Then to top it off we were charged full price for both burgers instead of 2 for 1 and didn’t realise until we got home. Awful. Wont be returning.

Arrived at the hotel early evening after a 3.5hr journey, didn't get a warm welcome, they were more interested in getting my payment for the room. What then told the restuarant was closed. When asked about other places to eat was told they didn't come from the area and they think there is a restuarant a short walk away. Got to room which was large but very unwelcoming. The following night we ordered food at the hotel restuarant, my husband had steak which he asked for medium to well done and it came out rare, his peppercorn sauce had fat floating around the top and his plate was swimming in grease I ordered chicken curry which was awful and I couldn't eat it and when I said it was awful they didn't ask why, it was just taken away. I was asked if I wanted something else but I declined and I did not pay for the curry. When we checked out the following morning we wasn't asked if we had enjoyed our stay, they just took the key. The hotel could really be amazing. It has a great location, however it lacks any kind of atmosphere. We were the only people in the restuatsnt on a Saturday evening. I would not stay here again. They are only interested in taking your money, in hindsight i would nit have paid the amount they charge to stay there. There is no pleasantries and they do not care if you have had a nice stay or not
