This review is sad to say . I always say support local independent businesses but in this case I would of rather of gone to the Premier inn or travel lodge . So where do I start . Room 19 booked for 4 nights due to working local . Perfect location in a prime spot . Shower took for ever and a day to heat up. Bed and pillows harder than a brick . Bedding so thin for december. Heating didn't work . Windows really thin so Room was so cold . Walls and floor so thin you could hear everything and everyone . Friday night they had a party till 00.30 The music was so loud and speakers were outside. Fantastic if you haven't got a 5am alarm like I did . I did call reception and they was not much help or very apologetic. I followed this up with an email also have not received a reply. Unfortunately this place is over priced and needs much TLC . Would not recommend or stay here again . Nice touch they come in every day to make the bed and change bath towels . Please improve your Rooms.

Arrived, swift hassle free check-in. We were guven a room in the annexe. Despite being a sunny day, the room was dark and cold. Large room recently painted . The old furniture was configured, so it was all in the same area, so it made the room cramped. Bed was comfy. It's I a tranquil location next to a public launch. However, it's under a flight path, so took a while to get to sleep. Bathroom needs a revamp and a shower screen as a draft blows the curtain and let's the water escape. Mould on the ceiling The breakfast room was very dated, and breakfast was not the best qualify ingredients. Sliced bread for me is a complete no-no with traditional English! Afternoon staff were not that knowledgeable about the surroundings area. Great location for a mooch along the Thames. The picturesque Shepperton lock t a 15 minute walk. We will be in the area again, but even though it was great value, and we like to support independent budiness we wouldn't return., the rooms in the main hotel however maybe much better than the annexe.

Wish I had read previous reviews as many of them also describe the same issues with this hotel that they clearly don't want to address but take people's money, knowing the poor quality and standard of the place Stayed 13th August for 1 night. If i had to stay longer I woukd have checked out. Grubby, tired, dirty. Noisy. Out of date food for breakfast 1st room allocated, there was a leak in ceiling through spotlight, so had to move. 2nd room they moved us too , had no hot water, faulty flush, spider in shower. Grubby grouting, dirty windows , blinds broken. Shower curtain mouldy. Not sure when they cleaned that last. Paper thin walls, could everything the drunk neighbours were getting up too. Terrible nights sleep. Door rattled loudly everytime other guests closed doors. Complained in the morning. Cleaning supervisor attended the room and seemed shocked at what we showed him, although judging from previous reviews, he hasn't done much supervising of the cleaning!! Provided email for manager to request refund due to multitide of issues. Sarah artmeis of Desboroughhotels has not replied to my complaint. Do not stay here. 3 star????how an earth?? I'll be contacting the relevant body about this rating and to about a refund

The Warren Hotel is in a stunning setting and was perfect location wise for our 2 night stay. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the service at breakfast (despite it being very busy due to lots of guests arriving at the same time because of a 7.30 am fire alarm), was fast and friendly. We paid for the cooked breakfast on both mornings and despite other reviews I read, thought it was delicious and reasonably sized portions. The garden view from our room was also beautiful and the bed really comfortable. Unfortunately on the first night we stayed, the fire alarm went off several times at 4 am and again twice around 7.30 am, which did not help for a good night's sleep. The hotel is old and does need some freshening up throughout, however the price is reasonable and that wasn't an issue for us. Where the hotel is completely let down is by the work of the cleaning team. Carpets were unhoovered, breakfast tables were sticky and needed wiping down and for us our room had a stained duvet cover and poor cleaning throughout, although apparently was cleaner than other rooms in our party. It would not be a big job for the cleaning team to completely overhaul the room, pay a lot more attention to detail and give guests a much better experience. Someone at management level needs to inspect the rooms and check the standard of cleaning which can't currently be being done. Paintwork and light switches were dirty in our room. Chrome had not been polished, the toilet holder moved and was not fixed properly and the shower had hairs in it etc, etc. Relatives in the room oppposite had to use the iron in our room as theirs was broken. These should be checked and replaced as necessary. There was also a lot of dusty corners which were obvious to see. We would definitely stay again if the cleaning was improved, otherwise probably not, as who wants to shower with someone else's hair etc :(

Had an afternoon tea here for a baby shower. Very disappointing. The food was good quality but on a table of 10 people we had two sandwiches per person. One sandwich was a quarter of a regular size sandwich, ( finger sandwich .) The cream for the scones was not clotted cream. Not value for money. I would at least expect a whole sandwich per person. 4 finger sandwiches each. The staff were very attentive and good.

Fantastic location friendly staff. Be careful with the noise as I’ve not and a good nights sleep once this week stopped for nights and every night there’s been something. I may of just picked a bad week as others say it’s quiet, this definitely hasn’t been the case for me. Monday into Tuesday woken up at 4:30am by either next door or room above who had got up for work which is fair enough, but this shouldn’t wake me up. The reason it did however is the floors are so worn out the creaks from them are ridiculous and the doors are stupid loud when opened as they slam shut. Tuesday into Wednesday woken up at 4am as the fire alarm went off and we had to be evacuated not the hotels fault and they handled this well. Wednesday into Thursday woken up at midnight by three drunk workers who where stopping hear laughing very loud out in the court yard not sure why this was allowed by the hotel or bar staff at that time of night. Thursday into Friday woken up at 5:45 in the grant scheme of things this isn’t too bad but after the rest of the week just becomes a joke. Woken up by the hotels bear delivery with kegs being rolled across the ground and banged off the floor. Safe to say I’ve left extremely exhausted and frustrated that I’ve paid granted for a basic room but the fundamental thing expected from a hotel is the ability to actually sleep until your desired time. I have a 10 hour day today and then a 3 hour drive home so getting a good rest was really important could have let one day off but the hope week is just out of order. Wasn’t all bad however the room was cleaned daily fresh biscuits each day but sadly this doesn’t make up for not being able to sleep.

I didn't stay in the hotel but we just nipped in for a drink during the day. It was totally empty and the receptionist came to the bar to serve drinks. Shame Church Square has been bought out. Well below par. That said the staff although short on numbers are great, extremely helpful and try their best to please. We'll done to Daniel, Fation and Alison above and beyond despite adversety. However, the room was not upto decent standards of cleanliness as you will see in the photos or equipped as advertised . We had the club room. Positives, excellent river aspect, large, bright and spacious. Negatives, no fruit basket or robes as advertised. Wardrobes without door handles or hanging rails. Third bed broken and threadbare. Bathroom in need of a thorough deep clean and upgrade. The shower has no power, I can cry with more force. The head looks like a smoker's teeth. The shower curtain is at best disgusting. The sink has had a large and poor repair. To the owners, you will be lucky to maintain your 3 star grading without investing in your property. Don't say that it's due to Covid, that boat sailed down the Thames long ago. The same with Brexit should you be remoaners, we're out, deal with it. You have the potential to revive this hotel to its former glory. Take this as constructive criticism to act upon. We hope to see great improvements on our next visit.

Warren Lodge is in need of a complete renovation as it's run down and tired. The breakfast was poor and congealed and arrived 45 minutes after being ordered. The lavatory in my room needed bleaching and the water struggled to climb up to the shower head. Which is a real shame because the location is excellent. I believe the hotel has a link to Horatio Nelson but this isn't celebrate, which is weird.

My meal was supposed to come with sweet potato wedges. What I got was burnt sweet potato fries which I sent back. The next lot were undercooked, no crispness at all, so I left most of them. The waitress never came back to ask how things were and didn't comment on the fact I'd left most of them, so a very disappointing experience for my first time of eating there. My friend said her steak was good though.

Visited here for an evening meal one night whilst staying across the square in the Anchor hotel, this would be a better choice than that by the way if wanting an hotel. On entry the reception and bar area have quite dated decor and not much in the way of atmosphere, order food at the bar then wait quite a while for food to arrive. Had sausage and mash which was ok, mid priced and did for evening meal but nothing to write home about. Thai food at Kings head is much better if that’s your thing.

Chose this hotel to stay as we were having a couple of days in Thorpe Park with family. The hotel staff were really friendly and the actual hotel was in a good location with only a ten minute walk into the town. The main reception and restaurant was clean and the breakfast decent. However the rooms were filthy! There was something that looked like tea spilt all over the skirting board, and lots of dead flies all over the bathroom windowsill. Also, oh my goodness DO NOT stay in this hotel if you have arachnaphobia like myself! It was my worst nightmare come true. Hundreds of spider webs and huge spiders outside our hotel room door and above us. I have never been more scared in my life. My partner got rid of as many as he could but there were just too many. I screamed my way into the room only to find a huge spider on a web above the toilet, one in the corner above the door and another one on the blind. I went to bed with the light on and hardly slept a wink all night. I appreciate the hotel is next to a river but the cleaner(s) are obviously not doing their job properly. The two photos I've uploaded are just the tip of the iceberg to how many there were. Never ever will I stay here again!

This place could with the correct investment be one of the most stunning places, let’s start with the place, it’s quirky dated and a fantastic building/area, the prices are quite high for the quality it provides, as with many other reviews the complaints of the shower water pressure etc. I have to agree 100% with this and find it very annoying in the modern day hotels can’t get this right, the decor of the place is desperate to be upgraded “threadbare” carpets is not a good advertisement, the staff are wonderful and deserve better, the food is class and very plentiful, good luck in the future because of the price/deco/showers I won’t return, if it was to correct decor and showers and generally upgrade I rush back

I grew up in Shepperton and try and pop back a couple of times of year to visit home, as I moved away over 20 years ago now. Every time I visit I always book The Warren Lodge. The hotel is really unique and antiquated but is full of history and character. If you’re looking for somewhere with a modern feel this probably isn’t the place for you, however if you’re looking for comfort, charm and character then definitely this is the place. I have always found the staff really nice and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. A special mention about Robert who just went above and beyond all the time, not just for us but for everyone I witnessed him engaging with, and he makes a perfect latte! We didn’t eat here on this occasion as we were already going elsewhere with friends but food has always been delicious on previous occasions. The hotel is fantastically situated to visit attractions and various places in and around London. Considering all of the above the prices are extremely reasonable too including rooms, drinks and food. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back, probably in the summer so that I can enjoy beauty of being by the river more.

We travelled 90 miles to pick up my mother in law and pre booked a table at the Warren Lodge. We arrived for a 1.30pm lunch. We were asked at 1.50 if we enjoyed the first course and informed them we hadn't received it yet. At 2.05 the appetiser arrived. We then were asked at 2.30 if our roast beef had been served yet. We were informed 'it was on the way'. At 2.40 itarrived.....and what a disappointment it was. The presentation of the food was appalling. Everything was piled on top of each other and there was no way you could eat one particular thing without 'tunnelling' through the rest of the food. The meat was very tough and chewy with all of us finding difficulty cutting it. The Yorkshire pudding, on top of the food, were huge, but tasteless and soggy. Were the roast potatoes the frozen variety? Didn't taste fresh. The desserts were fine as was the coffee and tea. We were given. £6.00 discount off each roast dinner, but to take a 90 year old out for a special occasion and she had difficulty cutting the meat (as we did as well) gives you an idea of what a disaster our trip to the Warren Lodge was.

We stayed in the Warren Lodge, as we toured the many royal palaces and other attractions nearby. We tried other dining options in the same village, or nearby villages. The outcome was, that we returned to Warren Lodge Restaurant. Either we did not get a table on the weekend, or when we got a table, we noticed Warren Lodge Restaurant was better is quality, and better in value. So we ended up having several dinners at the restaurant, and we were never unsatisfied.Naturally the menu started to feel too limited, when you enter the same restaurant for the 2nd time in 3 three days. But this was a dependable place.

Normally roasts can be hit and miss but this was fantastic. Too food, lovely staff and an amazing setting. We will definitely be back for Sunday roasts on the Autumn!

Ended up having the chicken and harissa burger, which was ok, this and the drinks took a while to arrive which meant no time for more courses. Still, we got to eat out on the river terrace on a balmy summer evening and that never gets old.

I got married on the 29th June at weybridge registry office (not a big do as was having big white wedding on 2nd July). So myself and husband plus 7 others had not decided what to do after but the weather was not on our side either. My mum suggested we go to the Warren Lodge. So we arrived just before 1pm with no booking. What can I say but wow. The staff were excellent they took great care of us. 1st drinks in the bar whilst they prepared a private dining area for us. They literally pulled it out of the bag! The table was beautifully done with flowers and laid well. The food we choose between main meals and bar menu (I had pizza and wedges). My husband had steak. The food was really good. I can't thank the staff enough for truely turning our rainy Wednesday wedding into something special. You were great.Mr and Mrs Byrne

The food at Warren Lodge is really nice. The service is great, really polite staff and an old fashioned kind of service that is very welcoming. Lots of variety with a regular menu and bar menu, followed by daily specials to choose from. Always happy to eat here

Don't go if you want the same sort of stuff you get in a gastro pub. This is traditional service and good quality food. The staff are very helpful and met our requirements at every level. I will definitely eat here again, it's so nice that the staff have people skills that are so lacking theses days. Well done Desborough Group!

My daughter booked a mothers day lunch for our little family at Warren Lodge and I felt compelled to write a review as it was a fantastic experience. Firstly on arrival we were taken to our table that was presented with a very pretty flowered name plate which matched the menu and a customer feed back form. Next we were welcomed by our waiter, whom shared our name, and was incredibly personable. He genuinely believed in the lodge and was very knowledgeable about everything on offer. The food was plentiful and of the highest quality. We were not rushed yet asked if everything was ok and served with the upmost professionalism. At the end of the meal I was presented with flowers as we're all the other mums, these too matched the theme of the day and then our lovely waiter showed us around the premises to the river area and the history of the mulberry tree. This is a really special place and the staff made our family feel very special. I would highly recommend a visit to the lodge. We will be returning very soon and look forward to eating by the river in the summer at this beautiful place.

Stayed here in early February in one of the rooms over looking the river, the room was decent as was the bathroom just outdated really and could do with a make over but comfortable for what i needed. The food was excellent and they had no problems serving the restaraunt menu in the Bar nothing was too much trouble for the bar manager. Breakfast was superb all cooked to order and nice and hot.

Visited one night as we were staying across the road. Aparently the company that owns it also owns the property across the road so the menu was identical. Ok for bar food, the rate of exchange between Eu and stg makes everything expensive over there .

We booked for lunch between Christmas & New Year. The restaurant was quite which was to be expected. The maître d' showed us too our table and gave us the drinks list and menu. We were also offered the christmas menu as well as the main menu. All our party ordered 3 courses from a mixture off the main menu and the christmas menu. The soup was home made and hot and tasty, as was the whitebait. The selection of mains was cooked well and also hot. There was a couple of things that were missed from our initial order for mains but the maître d' sorted that out and it was an issue with us.We wasn't rushed to leave, and we had a relaxing 2 and half hours in the restaurant. We will be going back next year.

We really enjoyed the view from our "club" room and the old fashioned English hotel feel of the whole place. It has a lovely location in the Church Square; easy walking to the town, station and picturesque Shepperton lock. But, oh dear, the bedroom was so shabby - what a shame. There really is nothing positive to say about our room nor the ensuite bathroom - except the view. Nowadays one expects a certain standard and our room fell way short of basic expectation. One other thing that lets the hotel down is the shortage of car parking. Staff were helpful and full Enlish breakfast was good.

I visited with some friends for lunch; a really lovely location, with a terrace overlooking the Thames. Staff very friendly and helpful, very good service from our efficient waiter. Plenty of choice with lighter lunch options as well as the main menu choices. I had a BLT sandwich, which came with crisps and a tasty side salad. Everywhere was very clean and all nicely presented, crisp white linen napkins, yet prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended. Although we only had lunch, It looks a lovely place to stay, although car parking spaces may be rather rather limited.

Hi we went there for lunch on Friday. It was terrible. The Waitress hadn't got a clue over anything, re drinks or food.. I had a Cheeses & pickle sandwich shame there was more pickle than grated cheese / shame the sliced brown (mother pride or similar) bread was stale / shame the crisps were stale. My husband had a Barnsley Chop (Lamb Chop) we knew what that was but I'm sure that most people wouldn't, might be useful to them to add that to the menu. The chop was well & truly over cooked & the chips arrived eventually. Last time we went to the Warren Lodge we vowed never to go again but we thought that with the kitchen refit following the fire standards would have improved. They haven't. We refused to pay for the sandwich. - £5.95 for a cheeses sandwich Tesco's value range is better

Came here for a quick bite to eat and a drink. No proper beer. Decided on a bottle of wine and two glasses. The barman went to look for a large glass even though there were plenty on the shelf. He then left the wine on the bar even though we had ordered and sat outside. Food was ok but a bit bland and uninteresting. With local competition they need to be more attentive and try harder.

A lovely lodge hotel close to the River Thames in a quiet setting. The food was very good, freshly cooked to order and perfectly balanced and seasoned. The staff were all very polite and professional. First visited early spring for lunch when looking for locations with a friend for weddings and returned last week for dinner as I recalled it being so good - and was not disappointed. We didnt choose it as a wedding venue but the rooms are great value and it would be worth a weekend break if not local.

I came to a Christmas party here with a large group of friends. We had the Function Room at the back to ourselves which was nice, for speeches etc.The stock in the bar was limited but actually better than previous years. Prices were reasonable. We had a set menu with 4 choices of starter and main. The soup was OK and the chicken liver pâté was very nice, but as so often happens, the amount of toast was tiny compared to the pâté that was served. Thankfully I had not eaten my pre dinner roll so I used that. The turkey was average and the pork was OK but quite a bit of fat. It would be better to serve the gravy separately as some wanted their dinner with it and some without. I asked for extra gravy but it took ages to come and I had almost finished. There were 4 choices of dessert or cheese and biscuits. Some of the desserts were fairly similar - Christmas pud or Christmas pannacotta. The Irish Cream and Chocolate Cheesecake was OK but the chocolate bit was only a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Coffee and mince pies were included.Service was OK, but dependent on the individual. Although it was not the best meal ever, it was all edible and some of it very good, it was very acceptable for a Christmas party and was very good value. We had crackers, party poppers etc as well. Recommended for a good value Christmas party.

1st December - early family Christmas gathering and our visit didn’t disappoint. The Retreat delivered a superb Roast - tender meat, crispy roast spuds with a delicious range of veg! Even the Christmas crackers were funny! Staff looked after us with food delivered promptly but without being rushed. Also nice atmosphere so we will be back!
