The Bulldog Harvester in Spelthorne

The friendly, helpful staff were the only positive at lunch today. The seats were stained and there was a pervading smell of old cooking fat in the restaurant, if there were other dining choices nearby we would have left. My friend and I both had the ribs and salad which was perfectly ok. This place definitely needs a good clean!

Very clean and calm atmosphere staff were wonderful and very friendly. I would like to give the waiter a 10/10 she is new and was very polite and helpful even helped telling me and family where to go for salad and refill drinks. Well Done Patience for excellent service you provided me and my family

What a dirty place to eat. Not looked after feels like it hasn't had a deep clean ever. I'm surprised the place hasn't been reported as a health and safety risk. Attached images. One particular server was very friendly.

Was served by a lovely lady called Lisa she was very welcoming and kind , food was standard , salad cart could do with being monitored a bit better and rolls were very dry but our mains etc were lovely

Decided to treat myself to ribs and sage and onion chips. Chips just tasted salty not of any flavouring and the ribs, barely any meet, and tasted just yuk. Plus cold. Shame as it was a 20 quid meal but not worth it.

We just got home, having visited for my parent's anniversary. Chanel was genuinely lovely and so, so helpful. The food was probably the best we've ever had there. The steaks were massive. Very generous portions all round. The new cornbread side is delicious and highly recommended.

We went to harvester for a birthday meal, the food was really nice and we all enjoyed and had a nice time our waitress Chanel was amazing, She kept checking up on us and making sure everything was perfect!! A massive thankyou to Chanel and the chefs!!

Came in for a breakfast whilst waiting to pick someone up from airport, food was quick and tasted good, Hannah was very polite.

Went with family they all had a lovely meal I had a fish and chip meal which was disappointing it wasn't very hot leading to having an upset stomach in the evening. Also, went online before to see if they served non alcohol drinks which stated they do, but unfortunately, there was only cider.

I visited harvester yesterday for dinner and was really disappointed in the poor customer service and quality of food. I am a regular customer and normally really enjoy the food. However, yesterday I waited 30 minutes for someone to take my order and bring the salad bowls. Even once I got my salad bowl, most of the salad and sauces were finished. I asked someone if they can refill and no one came out until 20 minutes later to refill it. I then waited over 1 hour for my food to arrive. The portion of my food was small and cold. Almost like a kids portion, and when I queried with the waiter/manager, I was informed thats how they make it. I didn't receive an apology for the delay, nor any compensation or good will gesture. They were not even willing to change my dish. They did not manager customer expectations nor inform us of such a long delay due to resourcing issues. I understand they were short staffed yesterday and I saw waiters running with plates to the kitchen and to customers. However, I have never been so disappointed with the poor customer service, lack of customer satisfaction and poor quality of food. On a plus note, I would like to add that the manager was very polite and calm whereas the waitress i had was rude and lacked good people and customer service skills. Unfortunately I won't be returning back to this harvester despite it was once my favourite.

Had a fantastic meal, everything was absolutely perfect! Lisa’s attention to detail was above all! Super fast service and tasty affordable food. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially being waited by LIsa! Thank you so much Lisa! X

Had a lovely meal served by Lisa who took care of us during our visit, was very informative about some of the things on the menu and very pleasant to deal with and be served by, will be coming here again to have another pleasant meal

Booked for 5 for 8.15. Turned up with 6 at 7.45. Not a problem, Jack front if house was excellent. Seated immediately. Waited on brilliantly. Friendly service. Food arrived quickly however my chicken skewer was cold. The dirty fries, I had mis-read, thought they had bacon and cheese on, and was actually bacon flavour crunch, which weren't cruncy and put me completely off my chips. Steak and burger order were good but the chicken goujons, chicken burger and Southern fried chicken meals were just OK. Drinks refil is a good buy. Overall, didn't rate much on the food but couldn't fault Jack.

Lisa was the most fantastic host for us that we could have hoped for. Nothing was too much trouble. Friendly and clean environment. Lovely breakfast which was exactly what we needed.

Our breakfasts arrived quickly and altogether. They were really warm and tasty. Our lovely waitress Lisa looked after us very well. Thank you Lisa!

Hi Chanel Thank you for your outstanding service. I had planned to never visit Harvester Bulldog Ashford again after the service received by a staff on my first visit. I took a chance and stop in for lunch on 31 July, 2024 where your service has repaired the damage your colleague caused.

Our server Lisa was very good and made the visit enjoyable. The food was good, would give 5 stars if the poached eggs weren't so watery.

The service was slow. Had to repeat our request twice. The food was warm, but the plate was very hot.

Chanel was our hostess. She was very sweet to my 4 year old grandson and checked on us regularly to ensure everything was ok

Enjoyed a casual lunch at the Bulldog, even though the place was very busy. Food good, and staff very helpful. Have dined here many times before, and always been pleased with the experience

Food was great, we were sat just outside of the restaurant by the entrance but never felt forgotten about thanks to Hannah. Great service 👍🏼

Everything else is excellent except for the carpet which was a bit stuffy for me. The furniture needs some touch up,very old,torn and dirty.

Milee was a great host. Accommodated our table of 12 really easily. Took our orders well. The food was great and atmosphere is nice. Would recommend for a nice family meal.

Me, my wife and couple of our friends were there to have our dinner today. Our server Shanai was really good.

The wait between courses was unfortunately long, no one came and asked how our food was at any time, as for the food our starters were chicken goujons and breaded mushrooms, you got plenty of goujons and mushrooms and they were very tasty & very hot, I would recommend. We had Dirty Bird Burgers for our mains, the amount of food was very good but unfortunately the chips were not crisp enough and they were cold. Apart from that the food was good. We of course had the never ending salad bar trip which as usual was very good. The Restaurant was ok apart from very noisy children who were not controlled by the Adults in their Party. Also the servers were unobservant to the fact that we had finished and did not ask us if we wanted sweets (missed a sale there) or the bill, so unfortunately on this visit there was no tip left. Overall we enjoyed our visit they just need to train their staff a bit more.

Went to this restaurant today, we waited long for food as it was quite busy but it was so worth the wait! Our server was Layla she was constantly checking up on us and apologising for the wait, we could see she was really trying bless her!! Food was lovely and the desserts were nicely presented and tasted great. See you guys soon !

Waited 20 minutes at the bar and didn't even get acknowledged let alone served. Other customers had been served drinks just minutes before me joining the queue, yet for some reason I was completely ignored. The poorest customer service I have ever received in a restaurant and I will never be going back to this Harvester again.

Had an enjoyable meal at the Harvester Bulldog. Food was nice, the atmosphere was good as it wasn’t too busy/loud and the food and drinks came quickly. Our sever Shanai was fab very helpful indeed, she was able to answer any questions we had with out hesitation, checked we had everything we needed and seated us in a spot which made it easier with the baby. A big thumbs up from us

I had a half rotisserie chicken with honey glaze and it was delish! Couldn’t manage dessert but don’t worry I’ll be back for the brownie.

Been here twice recently. Once as a group of 14, once as a group of 4 and both times Chanel was our waitress (I just forgot to do the review the first time) Both times Chanel was extremely attentive and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. I’ve had much less impressive service in more expensive places. The food is good too and reasonably priced. Will continue to come back when in the area.

We go to the harvester on a regular basis and today Jack and Louise have done you proud. Always so welcoming fitted us in although we hadn't booked and they had a large party coming in. Took our son for his first visit to the Bulldog harvester and he said the food was really good. Unfortunately we went back to the harvester today 18th July and didn't have such a pleasant visit. The food came up at different times with 10 minutes between my main meal and my husbands just to find that the steak he ordered was not the best and he left half. We didn't stay for dessert very disappointing.

It’s a very mid IS-diner like family restaurant. The staff was nice and the place is clean and what one would expect. I wasn’t pleased with the size of the portions or the fact that my medium steak was very well done. We had a sirloin steak and the half rotisserie chicken.Overall, what one would expect and it was a passable lunch.

I hate to say it, while food was okay the experience was degraded by rude, and inattentive staff.

Friendly staff but the restaurant was disappointing 😕 needs a deep clean and the food was not as hot, or of the quality, that I would like.

We did stand for about 10 mins; a young black girl seen us standing there and never came over to greet us so eventually we sat ourselves down. And then lovely Lisa came over to take our drinks and then she came back when we was ready to order. She was very kind and helped us save some money! By advising us to get the app etc. She was happy and positive and made the experience lovely. Food was very quick: I had a mixed grill and it was delicious

Me and a friend went to have a few drinks to watch the game. The service was amazing! The bartender jessi and ellie were lovely and fast at serving us our drinks!

The service from the first greeting until we left was excellent. The food was hot, plentiful and very tasty. The pub was very clean and tables were spacious. The young woman serving us called Chanel was friendly throughout. Would recommend.

you better off going to McDonalds across the road. Don`t know what the patty in dirty burger was made of but it was not beef it had a taste of milk and was white. Lager was old had a wine aftertaste. Staff would try to tell me it is good and regulars drink gallons of it (feel sorry for them) Overall not recommended at all. Waste of money

I was in a group 9 who visit on a regular basis. We have to book on the phone (as cannot book online for more than 8!) No booking registered (but as it was 12pm they said they could fit us in). The person (Chanel - a team leader) greeting was very offhand and said to another person in the group, "Did you book for Ashford, Kent? There is no booking here." She moved tables and we went over to our table. She was over-pleasant at the table. Perhaps she had thought better of her behaviour earlier? The rest of the meal was pleasant and the food all arrived at a similar time. The following day, I received a text at 11am reminding me I had a booking in one hour! I didn't, it had been the previous day (so the person on the phone had put it on the wrong day). When on the phone, on Monday, I clearly said (more than once), a booking for Thursday. I thought I should phone to point this out because I did not want cause problems to the restaurant. When I called Chanel answered. When I pointed out their mistake I mentioned that a "sorry" would be appropriate. Chanel said (words to the effect) that because she had not made the mistake personally she would not apologise. Surely this shows that on two occasions she proved to bye "not up to her job." As the person who makes the booking (every 4-6 weeks), I will be speaking to the group to ask whether we need to change our venue. A shame if we do, as other visits have been good and the location is convenient.

Chanel gave us a very friendly efficient service - we moved table as the aircon was too much and ordered from the new menu, nothing was too much trouble so a big thank you to Chanel who was extremely busy today.

I ordered a takeaway from The Bulldog Harvester Ashford. I was greeted with a smile by Chanel. Wow! I was astonished by her by her professionalism. She took the time to look through the different ingredients to ensure I didn't have anything containing egg. I was treated with respect and made to feel very valued. Thanks Chanel, you deserve 10 🌟.

The food was good. The salad bar was fresh and the food was tasty. Disabled Parking was limited but the parking does depend on the size of the grounds.
