I have ordered kids carvery delivery from here before and it was always good after a morning of kids football matches but after calling the restaurant last Sunday and asking if the mash could be served separately, the Manager Shaun accommodated my request and it made it so much better and more presentable for me to plate up!! Will definitely order again. Thank You Shaun. (P.s - I always reuse your containers for my freezer to minimise on packaging waste)

Crossways Travel from Dorset took a coach of 52 people here on Route to Abba Voyager. We arrived ahead of our booking, the barman (with the cool haircut) and chefs couldn't be more helpful. We had a carvery which was not only efficient for the size of group but absolutely delicious, plenty of variety, great spuds and the all important gravy 👌. Vegetarian option also reported to be fabulous. Desserts were generous and yummy. The building was a little tired but inside the food and hospitality was great. Thank you. 😃 Lucy, Tour Manager. Staff are very nice and accommodating. There is only one thing that lets the pub/ restaurant down and that is the place is in desperate need of a refit. When you 1st pull up you see that the window frames are rotten and paint is flaking off the walls. 1st impression is why would anyone go here. Well for starters the staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome . I cannot review the food yet as I have not eaten here recently. The restaurant always seems busy and the food looks good .

The service and food brilliant and despite the restaurant full with a coach party they managed to find us a little quiet spot to eat. Very polite and accommodating by all staff. The bar manager found us the seating area . And the chef apologised for keeping us waiting 2 mins. Food we had carvery was so tasting and good variety of veg.

Really enjoyable experience, the food was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced, The lady who checked us in,Liana, was friendly and helpful. The beef and turkey were amazing as was the lemon meringue sundae. Highly recommended

Lovely Roast dinner and service

Food here is delicious, I have comed here a thew times now and it never failes with the food and service! Staff are very friendly and polite, food delicious as allways! Would definitely recommend carvery!

Uber divery 1 roast dinner ordered. Roast potatoes not crispy tasted like they were yesterdays warmed up, meat overcooked, veg overcooked.

First of all thank you for having us lot a party of 20 people very kind and helpful. The food was very nice and everyone enjoyed their food. A big shout out to all the staff member you did amazing job after being rushed off your feet. Hope all the staff had a big drink after because you deserved it will definitely come back here as it’s once again thank you all

Eating out is always a big worry for our family due to allergies and Ceoliacs. We called ahead and Shaun was extremely reassuring explaining he would do everything to reduce the risk of contamination. When arriving at the restaurant one of the staff at the bar started to talk us through the allergen menu, at which point Shaun also came over to our table to introduce himself and spoke to us about the food we could eat and also what steps he would ensure the kitchen took to keep us safe. One of which was organising for the kitchen to cook a separate batch of vegetables and gravy to ensure they were kept gluten free. The food already spoke for itself and was lovely but the care he took with our family made it so much more special. To any Ceoliacs reading this, eating out always carries some risks, but we ate here without issue and felt comfortable doing so.

Visited the goat on Sunday evening thinking it may be closed but it’s was open and had a good range of food. Ok it’s a carvery so yes the meat had been under a heat lamp but for the money it was fantastic value and the meat was not dry and had a full veggies. Have to give this 10/10 a great meal. John at the bar was really nice and friendly

Worse service and food , waited over a hour and 20 mins for a starter to come out uncooked, to which the manager had to come and confirm it wasn't cooked , then waited another 20 mins for a started to be asked if I'm ready for desert considering not even had a starter or a main at this point , the when finally started main it was all over cooked and dried out, so asked to get deserts so we can leave as at this point was in the restaurant coming up to 4 hours waiting , for the lady to only bring 1 desert out of 6, so asking where the other 5 are for her to slam the desert down and tell us she don't no and don't care infront my children, so after this we ended just leaving after wasting over £300 for a Christmas dinner we didn't even have won't ever be returning here again

Absolutely disgusted by the treatment as a regular who has been coming for over 30 years I am in complete shock. Food hard roast potatoes burnt parsnips no condiments and no one asked why a untouched plate was returned this is unacceptable please do not expect it to be like it was 3 years ago been declining since 8 people at our table were appalled understaffed no one stays in regard to staff please save yourself the experience we had as regulars and book the toby Windsor .

Wow what a mistake booked xmas dinner for 8 people spending £430 pre booked for 3pm arrive 15 mins before as that was the advice online we finally sat down about 4.15 sat waiting for 1 hour no starter turned up so went strait into our dinner meat was fine everything else was far from perfect onto the pudding we had to order that twice with 2 different people no clean spoons I can honestly say the waitress was wiping/ dipping spoons in water just to clean them which is absolutely foul i ate my pudding with a fork that was clean funny thing is eating pudding someone said do you want your starter now so many unhappy people definitely not like 2 years ago

What a disaster, Waited a hour and 20 mins for a starter to come out and not be cooked, dough ball was not even cooked as they was still dough, showed the manager and he agreed it wasn't even cooked, then waited almost 40 mins to get the main which was all over cooked dried out completely, then waiting for desert only to get one out 6 to then be told we'll she dosnt no what we get then slam the desert down infront my 9 year old child , why make people book in advance a simple menu if you can't even provid it , feel completely robbed of my money, no communication from any staff as they obviously had zero clue on any service,

We booked to come for a Christmas dinner and can only describe as absolutely atrocious. Over an hour to wait just to get to a ‘pre booked’ table. When we do get a table.. we had to clear it ourselves and then fetch our own cutlery and napkins to make it up again. Families left outside with children for over an hour just to be able to get seated. Staff walking around crying, having to be reassured by customers. People sat at the wrong tables and when they do finally receive some food.. it’s wrong, or only half of it comes out. An hour and a half later our starters never came.. we then when we got into the queue for a carvery.. over another half hour standing to wait, and then half the meat and sides finished and no idea how long until they’ll be topped up.. our vegetarian main was another 10 minutes wait after we finally got vegetables from the carvery. we didn’t even wait for our deserts because who knew how much longer until we would get them. No communication or any form of table service by any of the staff.. no one seemed to have a clue what was going on. An awful Christmas experience

Christmas Day lunch ruined my christmas thanks entered the pub to be greeted by a dirty bar glasses all over the counter sticky floor from drinks and decorations fallen down and families complaining that you got to get your own cutlery and crackers. waited 30 minutes to be seated bear in mind this was a pre paid booked table with no information what so ever not even asked my booking name lots of people complaining and long queue for carvery got starters a prawn cocktail without the prawns with the slices of bread being the end of the loaf and no butter along with a free bottle of Prosecco 2 hours after being seated how they can run out of food when we already chosen our options weeks in advance I dont know. then joined the long queue for the carvery with only 1 chef carving meat and depressing looking vegetables a waitress was crying and management was no help desserts finally came with 3 different types of spoons next time were going somewhere posh with customer service skills crackers were crap and a bowl of soup stayed sitting on the pass during this whole time along with paperwork with customers names and dietary needs there was also a wheelchair user wanting to go out the fire exit which a staff member had to remove a box of crackers from infront of this is a fire safety issue there was even a box blocking the side of toilet doors we will never be returning dont waste your money and affect your mental health

Room smell damp, food leftover on floor, veg cold, atmosphere none, you can smell the toilet in the bar disgusting, save you money stay at home. Mash potatoes and gravy really really bad

Brilliant carvery style roast. Plenty of left overs and can take it home. Went in without booking and they still accommodated us(would suggest booking prior as mega busy, especially for the Sunday roast) Brilliant quality meat and potatoes. Highly recommend.

Good Service. The Food was Acceptable. The Toilets, need a Thorough Check and a Deep Clean. Especially around the Dyers!!. Corner’s and Edges. I always Judge a Place by its Washroom’s. And the Entrance Way. Finally, the Goat, needs Money spent on a Detailed Refurbishment. In all Public Area’s Otherwise, it is Worth a Visit!!.

Went for lunch carvery. Very quiet in restaurant. Not a great deal of atmosphere or excitement. Restaurant and bar and surroundings in Very poor repair. Gardens look very unkept and shabby. Very unattractive outside and old and weathered. Lacks funds to modernise it.

Had the carvery and my other half had chicken burger , went with family to celebrate birthday and engagement, first time there the staff were very lovely welcome and friendly and informative, definitely worth a visit , under new management tell the trying to give the tlc it need s keep going and imagine gonna be the bees knees very soon. Plus the sundaes were definitely worth the visit 🙂

No rating for atmosphere because I ordered through a third party app. The portions are amazing. The food is delicious. If you want a Fully loaded carvery, this is place to order from. Massively superior to other carveries Toby cough cough. Wish I had taken a photo, next time I will.

The cavery was shocking. 5 of us went here on Saturday. The carvery was awful! All the veg and potatoes were so dry where they had been sitting under the heat lamps so long. Both the mash and sweed mash were crumbling where it was so dry. It was around 12:30/1pm so lunch time. So no reason to be so bad. We hadn't been here for a while and don't think we will be back any time soon. Only positive was the waiter was very polite and helpful.

I came into today and was greeted by 2 lovely women called Donna and mir and ordered a carvery , and I must say the carvery today was the best I've ever had . The roast potatoes were amazing the chef Liana told me how she made them so crispy and fluffy I get amazing service every time I come in and the food quality today was brilliant.

Had a delicious trio of pizzas, with a great variety of fresh ingredients on the pizza. I recommend the hot honey with extra jalapeños! Big shout out to Ryan and chef Scott for such a lovely experience. We're looking forward to returning for another meal

Had to wait 20 minutes at the bar to order food. Was looked at by bar staff whilst no one was around. 5 people came up behind me and they got served first??? Chef was rude that had no smile what so ever just put his hand out to take the receipt. Other than "what meat" that was all the service. Then had to wait 25 mins for a drink through table service.... Had to go and ask the manager. By the time the drinks came, we had already finished eating. This place has gone down hill. Probably will stick to a Tobey instead

This place is run down so much over the years, part of the building are visibly falling apart and 0 attention to fix them The management team are awful, they walk around like they own the place yet they're not actually doing anything I visited last Sunday for the carvery - the food was the only part that was remotely satisfactory. Lockie (the manager - fella with about 4 teeth) was strolling around walking past customers waiting in the que to check in but wasn't saying he was busy or anything, was just walking around to the bar and back over and over. I booked in for 3 people at 6pm, I did not get seated till 645 and when I did, my table was filthy, my daughter of 8 years ended up taking initiative and getting tissue and cleaning the table herself, SHE'S 8 Loads of other tables were empty but covered in food and the tables were extremely sticky - when we finally got seated there was maybe half the restaurant taken despite the manager saying no tables were available even though the website let me book for 6pm There was also only about 2 staff doing anything and 1 was managing the bar but seemed more interested in sorting glasses than serving the lines of people waiting, and when the manager came over to help he went straight for the people he knew and said 'the usual' - they weren't at the front of the que........the England v Finland game was on and he kept looking over at the screen and doing nothing while people were standing there waiting Place is filthy, service quality is awful, lack of staff is evident but why would you want to work for a manager like that, and the food was just about okay

Decent Sunday Roast and highly recommend the delivery service for Roasts as well. One of the members of staff (John) is exceptional and whizzes around making sure that everything is OK

My mum and her partner took me out for the carvery here and to be honest, it wasn't the best. Food was nice and well cooked but clearly had been sat out for a while. Place was clean but empty. We were the only people there apart from 3 people sat out the front with their drinks. Staff were a mixture! Our barman was bubbly and friendly but the other young lady that stood there doing nothing stated she couldn't serve us so waited until the gentleman showed up to take our order and payment. Chef was grumpy and seemed to have an issue but served us as what meat we asked for. My mum also commented that he was the chef that had shouted at her a few weeks ago to not ring the bell and as my mum is an older lady, I found this to be rude and disrespectful. She also stated that they all heard the arguments that he was having in the kitchen with his staff. The chef heard this and didn't deny any of it. Having not been here before, I won't go again. The atmosphere was miserable with grumpy staff, no customers and adequate food. Apparently it used to be amazing there but from what I saw it's pretty sad to see how so a big place could be so empty and abandoned.

Ordered via uber eats. Was the worst order I've ever received in about 10 years. The burgers were soggy with the buns reduced to nothing, items missing, tator tots absolutely under cooked and horrible. The burgers used to come in proper card board boxes, now you get them in squashed aluminium foil and cling film wrap. Quality went way down hill. We used to live the Goat. But we'll tell everyone to avoid this horrible disaster now as we will do. Absolutely appalling.

Nikki and Donna are amazing barmaids and always go above and beyond for me and my friend. The chips are always a good portion and always crispy on the out and soft on the inside.

We went there for a roast dinner as I couldn’t be bothered to cook I don’t normally like to eat roast dinners out but I couldn’t fault it potatoes were crispy good choice of meats and the gravy was lovely an thick just how id make it at home .

We come here for breakfast a lot being a family of 5 it’s one place where they have a lot of choice and something for everyone.
