Came to this restaurant for dinner on Friday without a reservation and was seated at level 1 by the window. It has a good selection of Pan-Asian menu. We ordered tobboki, kimchi mee goreng, curry laksa, and bubble tea. A slight letdown by the curry laksa, as it didn't have the laksa flavour we're familiar with, but the rest were great.

I have been a member for a couple of years. Previously Wickwoods was amazing. Since taking over, David Lloyds have undertaken a complete renovation. Since completion of phase 1 (which took over 3 months of patience) the spa pool, indoor pool, showers, and sauna are all freezing. No compensation has been offered to loyal members for the huge disruption and failed attempt at delivering what they promised including basic necessities of a gym like a warm shower. And to top it off prices are being increased. Perhaps Wickwoods will be great again in time but right now I’d avoid.

Been coming to the Donkey since the donkey since the 60s when it was hot elderberry wine and sausages on the bar kept hot in a Pyrex dish with a candle light ..and stuff beautifully decorated at Christmas and log fires I'm so gutted and sad you have to close .....end of a very special era we have been married for. 59 years came with our children to see the donkeys on a summers evening..so sad we find out today on my husbands 81st birthday xx good luck to all ....dont knock it down please

Hi...visited for a third year for a pre-Xmas lunch...and it all went a bit wrong. There was a mix-up with the menus (There were at least 3 and maybe 5 menus between Xmas, Sunday, Xmas special, Sunday special and something else, it was difficult to tell)...nonetheless, the table staff were great and the food was good, and these things happen...hey-ho. Then the manager who was walking the bar area, asked if everything was ok as he passed by, so we mentioned the menu mix up, expecting a friendly exchange, but instead he said that perhaps we couldn't read ?...he then pointed to a sign, that couldn't be seen behind one of the occupied tables that said that dogs couldn't go on the seats (We have 2 very well behaved small dogs for which we had brought seat blankets to lie on)...it doesn't sound that bad as I write this down, but there was no apology (first rule of customer service is always apologise for what's happened, even if it's not your fault), you could sense the arrogance of the guy and he even charged us for the extra accompaniments (basic vegetables) that were provided to fix the cock-up with the menus...he spoilt what was supposed to be our treat for Christmas and couldn't have cared less. I have never reviewed any where we've eaten before (as you can probably gather), but his attitude really got under our skin...and we're still talking about it now....needless to say, we're never going back.
