Ebenezers in New Forest

Great to go back this lunch time to one of our favourite places to eat in Hythe village. EBENEZERS. Rang today to check if arriving 1.45 pm was too late and assured all fine. Lovely welcome. Two Great efficient young ladies on duty. Hot well cooked meals. Chips 🍟 perfect. Cold refreshing drinks. First time back since the dreaded Covid lock down. So happy to have pub to look forward to visiting again. Will definitely be back.

I went to this spot for a glorious beer and pack of crisps for my dogs when a lovely boy gave me a couple dog treats for my dogs he said his name was Leon or Liam or something and I hope he get paid well and has supportive co workers I had a lovely chat with him outside and he seemed like a lovely boy - Paul Smith

Popped in here for a drink as its my Dad's local. What a lovely little place!! Welcoming friendly staff with a nice atomasphere.

Great village pub. Friendly service and good food at reasonable prices. Worth booking to get a table if eating although we have always found one small table free.

Great place to share a few pints and a meal. Very welcoming and good value all round. Highly recommended.

Busy pub on a Saturday night with a friendly atmosphere

Always a great place to visit, try and go 3-4 times a year. Nothing changes the food and service is always five star. Never leave hunger.

Very welcoming even to a first time customer. Will go back when next in Hythe.

Nice food & drinks sensibly priced

There's nothing at all to dislike about this place. Friendly and prompt table service although bar service somewhat inattentive and slow. The place was not at all busy in the weekday lunchtime that I visited. Good sized portions of food at middling pub prices. No issues. No lunchtime band (mercifully) - just low level music from the sound system that played mostly oldish rock/pop. Very much to my taste. In all, recommended and you won't be underfed.

My last visit to Ebenezers was before lockdown over three years ago. I was pleased that it had not changed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, There was a good atmosphere, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Didn't eat. Great place to go for a friendly relaxed and safe drink with friends/ family.

Best pub in Hythe the location is excellent for the ferry so you can pop over easily from Southampton for the day. Pub is an old chapel has plenty of character and good food also has outside seating. Well worth a visit a proper pub without all the corporate rubbish you have in chain pubs.

Picked up with some ex work colleagues, had a few beers together had a good time for a few hours

Called in for a beer after reading good reviews. Certainly didn’t disappoint, a nice little hidden gem with a good atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Best traditional pub in Hythe. Enjoyed my visit on Tues 25th April - half Hattie Browns Zephyr, half Hopback Fuggle Stone and half Vibrant Forest Pupa (keg). All very decent and 4* plus on the NBSS CAMRA rating scale (excl the keg of course as ratings for real ale only). Nice staff, had some nice banter and chat. Quite busy for a Tues afternoon. Food served but didn't eat in here. Closes mid afternoon on earlier week days ... check times if not local. Thank you to the staff 👍

A lovely Tuesday evening drink, with friendly staff and comfortable surroundings.

Went for meal with friend last night. Haven't been for a while, but in past food been consistently good. I don't know if changed hands but very disappointing- anemic chips, not even golden. Also no desserts at all on menu. Won't be going back😔

First try of this pub...went there with my wife for lunch whilst visiting Hythe. Best Steak and Mushroom pie we've ever had anywhere . Prompt and friendly service. We will certainly revisit when we are in the area.

This is our local pub. The food is good and the staff are really friendly. It is so nice to be welcomed by name and there is a lot of friendly banter. My son only has to walk in and his pint is on the bar before he gets to it!! Thoroughly recommend !

This is our local Pub, recently taken over by Ryan, and he has managed to carry over the ambience and feel of a traditional Pub. The food is great, beer and wine good, and no piped music and no gambling machines! 👍. If you're in Hythe pop in, and have a great experience .

Our first visit since lockdown. Still as good as ever. Excellent food, friendly staff and a homely atmosphere. Ebenezers is in Hythe Village Centre so bus stops, the ferry terminal and Jones Lane car park are all nearby. Very highly recommended.

This wonderful little pub is tucked away in Hythe but well worth finding. Wonderful staff. Excellent home cooked meals. We cannot praise the team highly enough.

Always good generous portions of delicious food at an extremely reasonable price. Thai curry highly recommended.

Great place for a quiet drink or a bite to eat and watch the world go by. Fantastic selection of ales, lagers and ciders including guest ones. Staff are very friendly and you are made to feel very welcome. Definitely worth another visit.

Met up with some friends and had a lovely lunch which was very reasonably priced , the food was excellent and all of good quality. The staff were very good and efficient. We all had different meals and we all enjoyed our food . I would recommend and definitely visit again .

In an old chapel this is a real local pub. When we first turned up it wasn't open but the landlord, who was sitting outside, unloced the place and along with his customers made us feel very welcome - so we kept going back throught our holiday! Great beer as well.

Lovely little pub that serves great food. Two of our group are Coeliac (gluten-free) and the staff were extremely helpful in determining which menu items in the menu were suitable. They even went into the kitchen to explore additional options with the chef. The food itself was very tasty and reasonably priced (£11 for burger, chips and salad). Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

A great pub but check beforehand if you want to eat there ... no food on Fridays!

A fantastic place for a pint and the food is top notch. I had the 6oz Stilton cheeseburger, chips and salad with coleslaw. Absolutely amazing and it IS Stilton cheese. Very tasty and fresh. Tucked away around the main precinct in Hythe is this popular pub. Laid back and relaxing with good service. Easy access for all including wheelchair accessibility. Lots of drink options like ale, ciders and more. Great for sitting outside in the sun with adequate seating and parasols. Very dog friendly with water bowls available. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Best value and great food Staff very friendly.

The pub has a a great atmosphere and is very popular with the locals.i didn't have any food but they seem good size portions and the customers seemed happy.this Is such an amazing pub I wish it was my local that's how much I like this pub.

Great atmosphere and the staff are knowledgeable and give great advice on drinks. Especially on the choice of rums. Mark was really amazing when one of our group had a problem and went above and beyond to help.

Nice quiet bar in Hythe town centre, with a quality pint. Good choice place to go if you like a social chat with friends, without the disturbance of loud music or TV as there is none.

Great independent free house, that looks like a traditional pub, is a traditional pub, but also isn't a traditional pub. I know that makes no sense, but go along and you'll see what I mean. Really pleased to have found this gem.

A small group of us often go into Ebenezers on a Wednesday evening. The staff are welcoming and cheerful. Other visitors always appear contented and chatty. There is a selection of Real Ales. When I have had evening meals they have always been delicious and properly cooked. There or a large car park to the rear which is free during the evenings. Hythe ferry and bus terminus are close by. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Lovely food, staff and atmosphere

I ate here for the first time on Monday lunchtime and I was really impressed , the food was amazing and we were looked after really well , the menu is varied and is very good value , the portions are huge , I couldn't manage all mine , they must waste a lot of food , but I will definitely go back again and will recommend it to my friends

Lovely food, nice setting. Staff were pleasant, but unfortunately need training. Our starter arrived with our main course, and we didn’t have a check back, so we’re left gasping for more drinks with our food, as it took over 45 minutes for our dishes to arrive. We were there when it was quiet too. No online presence, no menus posted. Seems great for locals sat at the bar with time to kill, but not great for others.

First visit to Ebeneezers Dec. 7th 2021. We absolutely loved it . Atmosfere friendly happy and background music just loud enough so you could still talk and listen to each other. All the staff were brilliant and always smiling. Food great , My chicken with stilton sauce superb and my wife had Thai curry which she loved. We were also greeted to a verse of Happy Christmas walkin through the door. Now on our list of regular visits.

This is a lovely local pub to hythe village,staff are very friendly and it has a great atmosphere,the food menu is very nice and the prices are reasonable What let’s this establishment down though is the wait times for food I’ve been twice in the last month and both times the four of us have had to wait over forty minutes for our baguettes, it isn’t even the case they are busy the last two times I went there was one person waiting for food and the last time we were the only ones waiting.I have family that work in hythe and they won’t eat there for lunch purely because the time it takes to order then wait for food means that the hour they have for lunch gives them only a few mins to eat and return to work,this needs to be addressed

We have enjoyed many happy times here over the years and are always impressed with the high standard of cleanliness, service and quality. The friendly, attentive and courteous manager and bar staff serve a great selection of drinks including ales, with the chance to regularly try new varieties plus the kitchen serves generous portions of the tastiest homemade food - nothing is too much trouble. I recently visited Ebenezers on the 28th of August, enjoyed a few wonderfully kept ales served by the happy staff.There was a small incident where a vile woman started ranting at the Manager, but this was quickly shut down and the awful woman was rightfully ejected from the premises to hopefully never return. We were all apologised to in a professional manner and we went about our evenings. 5/5 for atmosphere, quality of drinks and staff friendliness.

This is a hidden gem. Excellent pub food. I had an absolutely delicious home made pie. The staff are charming. My wife said the toilets were spotless. We have come on several occasions over the past years and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Highly recommended

We are regulars at this little treasure of a pub, the food and service are top notch. The staff and managers are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, on Saturday 28th we were sat enjoying a drink with friends, I have to say well done to the bar manager for dealing with a particularly unpleasant couple that day. Very well handled, so we could carry on enjoying our afternoon. Thankyou for keeping this little gem a place we can all feel safe and happy.

Visited Ebenezer's on Saturday 28th and had a wonderful time, all staff and managers were pretty awesome to be fair. I'm a right fussy fool and like my drinks just so (why I drink and dine here, they're so accommodating) and I was given ice by mistake by a younger member of staff, without hesitation, the splendid bar manager whipped my glass away and refreshed me with a new beverage, without that pesky cold stuff and all served with a cheeky smile.I've never know the service to be lacking here, in fact on the contrary, it's blooming tip top and always fun and smiley, the only time I think I can ever recall it being any different in my 13 years drinking there, is if someone's out of line or just downright rude to them.So all in all what a wonderful pub, awesome food, seriously high quality beverages and darn splendid staff, especially the management, highly recommend to all polite and respectful patrons!

Nice pub, spent many hap an hour here; however today Saturday 28.08.2021 so called Bar Manager reduced my wife to tears. Will not be visiting again until she is removed or leaves. Shame really as pub was virtually empty when other surrounding pubs were busy. Ah well, they need as much business as possible. Shame really.

Lovely pub, friendly staff and excellent food. Was really tempted with the jacket potato and prawns as looked very fresh and a generous portion. I opted for the recommended Thai Green curry prepared and cooked by their Thai chef. It was served with rice or chips so we had one of each. Really hot and tasty. Also had the scrumptious homemade veg spring rolls. Would deffo visit again!

Haven't been here for nearly a year now due to lock down etc. So went as soon as possible. It's business as usual with restrictions and a reduced menu at present. The service, food and drinks are all of excellent quality. I cannot fault the visit in any way. We always call here when in the area, not often enough living 60 miles away.

Best thai curry I've ever had! Such a great restaurant - the atmosphere is always lovely and the staff are so friendly.

My wife rang & left a voice message to se if any tables were available. One of the staff called back within 15 minutes & booked us in for that evening. The food was excellent & the service was really good. The staff are really friendly. Highly recommended.
