Tamarind in Sevenoaks

We ordered a home delivery and were told it would be an hour and 20 minutes. Not ideal but we said yes. We phoned after an hour and a half and were told it wouldn’t be long. No apology but we were hungry and had no choice. Time passed and we kept trying to call but it kept going to voicemail. We had left messages but nobody bothered to call back - either then it even next day. Food eventually arrived 2.5 hours after the order had been made. Appalling service and lack of communication. Whatever had gone wrong, they could and should have told us and apologised. Never again.

I visited the restaurant a couple days ago and I was in complete shock the food there was absolutely amazing and appetising. The staff there are so welcoming and friendly. I 100% recommend going with family and friends, it is far the best Indian I’ve ever had!

We had a family party here at the Tamarind and i wanted to leave an honest review. The food was superb, very fresh and traditional. Service was amazing, the staff do go the extra mile for the customers. We live near Sidcup but will make this our go to Indian restaurant with friends and family. Highly recommend!

Took friends, 4 people total in our group, we had booked in advance and arrived a few minutes early. Took over one and a half hours for food to be served despite asking how much longer at one point. At least 2 other tables that arrived and ordered after us had nearly finished their food before ours was served. One of our group has diabetes and delay in food arriving was getting critical. Food was good when it eventually arrived but could have been hotter (hence 4 stars not 5). Getting served 2nd round of drinks was almost impossible in fact getting attention of staff was almost impossible. Finally had to ask for bill 3 times and eventually stood up and put coats on before they presented it. Needless to say no tip left this time. Have eaten in here before and noted service sometimes slow if busy with takeaways which they seem to prioritise but never as long a delay as this time, and no explanation as to why. Won't be taking friends again or eating in again; infact as we left our friends requested we eat elsewhere in future due to the poor service and extremely long wait for our food.

I have eaten here so many times. Last night there was 9of us, what can I say we all had a fantastic experience. The food is top notch, the service is impeccable they keep the beers coming the food comes out piping hot and well presented. The staff cannot make you feel anymore welcome. We can be quite a rowdy bunch when we get together the staff don't complain they are just happy for you to enjoy yourself

We have used this restaurant for a long time, generally for takeaways, but rarely sit in. It was busy but the service throughout was incredibly slow from taking the orders to the food arriving (without one of the dishes too). There were alot of takeaways which seemed to be taking priority over many of the tables being served. When we repeatedly asked about the food coming we were simply told it would be with us in a minute. I was also surprised that they didn’t bother to change the dirty cutlery from the starter to the main. Nothing was taken from the bill for the poor service. Questionable as to whether I will use them again.

Amazing place food is served in as little as 15 minutes if it is your first time going you can get complimentary food and drinks the staff are nice and friendly.

Lovely restaurant with wonderful food. They bring complimentary dishes out which give you the opportunity to try something different. Their dry garlic chicken is now my favourite. On a parade of shops hidden away on a residential road, I highly recommend this restaurant which we have become a regular customer’s .

By far the best Indain food in Sevenoaks. Never eaten in the restaurant but the takeaway is definitely in the top 3 of my all time favourites. Fantastic service and the delivery service is spot on 👍

I have been coming to Tamarind for 3 years now, even tho the drive takes 45 minutes I would never consider going anywhere else !!! The consistent service I receive from Tanvir really is impeccable and you would struggle to find better food anywhere else, I would highly recommend this curry house due to the very reasonable prices and great atmosphere

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CURRY HOUSE!!! the food is delectable i really recommend coming. ive been coming weekly for two years now sometimes even 3 time a week ! the staff are incredible tanvir is an incredible server he is always so happy , always coming to check we and our food is okay he is always a joy to be around the atmosphere is absolutely perfect if your looking for a good night and good food definitely come here ! so well priced as well it definitely makes the 45 minute drive worth it !! LOVE YOU GUYS

This is not the first or last time we will visit this lovely restaurant. A group of old school friends we're catching up and we have a wonderful night. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food was great. We were given little treats to try and they were delicious and such a wonderful touch.

Waiters were good fun, played hangman with us. Food was the best Indian meal I have ever had. The chicken korma was heaps better than the one at my school. On the outside of your restaurant it said fine Indian dining. Overall, it was exquisite Indian dining! The on-the-house chefs specialties were very generous, the garlic chicken was definitely one of my favourites. And thats saying something since it was all delicious! from Owen, age 10.5

Last week went Tamarind with my family ,we ordered some starters like as lamb chops,chicken those are really testy 🖤than we ordered our main 1 tandoori chicken,and one cheaf special which are really good and naan bread was really tasty, wish we will go again

Phoned for a delivery. Paid over phone by card. Told that it would be there within an hour. After an hour we called and told it would be ten minutes. Every ten minutes we were told the same thing. Eventually had to give up calling after TWO HOURS. What an absolute shambles of a restaurant. Avoid like the plague.

Loved this place. The meat cooking was fabulous and recommend anything tandoori, the lamb was excellent. The service was excellent.

From the first moment we entered this great restaurant we were welcomed like old friends. Not just a welcome but a completely lovely experience throughout our meal. Enjoyed the experience last Monday. Had a wonderful meal, attentive staff, able to sit and enjoy the food without feeling rushed. Loved it so much went back 3 days later. You really won't be disappointed. Great prices too. Will most certainly be back.

Working away and whilst in Kemsing found this Indian restaurant. Everything about the visit was 10/10. Food amazing, staff friendly and accommodating all in all a top restaurant, certainly recommend.

Excellent food and top service.

Terrible experience and was lied to by hostess. Had a reservation at 6pm on a Sunday. Was told that I can bring children if we dine before 7pm when I had called previously. Got there on time and were asked to leave because of bringing children under 10. They referred to their website for policy not to bring children but there is nothing to be found about the rule. The only thing on the website is dress code which we had adhered to. Bougie place with discriminatory rules/prejudiced hostesses. I will make sure to spread the word.

The level of service at this restaurant was some of the best service I’ve received, I really did feel as though the service was the same calibre of a fine dining restaurant you’d expect in Mayfair. The waiter brought out numerous tasters for us to try free of charge throughout our meal including pakoras and spiced chicken with salad and even an on the house shot after the meal which was complimentary, given the cost of living currently I found this incredibly courteous and this mannerism stood out as an exceptional 5 star service. The waiter’s were very attentive and polite to me, showing empathy towards my recent accident (broken arm cast) helping me in my seat and opening the door for me, it’s been a long time since I’ve had this kind of service! The price of the food is incredibly fair, the food came out fast, the portion sizes were generous and the food was really tasty. The chicken tikka masala was a good deep red which is what I like and the chicken was well marinated and cooked well. The naan bread was delicious and fluffy which complimented the meal. My partner had the pasala which was a chef special and said it was so nice he didn’t stop to speak about how good it was! It was eaten in minutes. Waiters were attentive to ordering, refilling of drinks and requests. I would definitely come here again, the price is incredibly reasonable for the level of service and quality of food.

Wow no wonder why this place has won multiple awards! The restaurant is beautiful with amazing lights and ambiance and I really like the elephant. All the staff were really nice and the owner came and spoke to us a couple of times which was nice. The food was amazing, so many flavours and the tikka chicken was one of the best I've ever had. They even gave us a complimentary starter, main and drinks! We eat a lot of curries all over the UK and were both really impressed, and the prices were really good too, all that food for under £50. So no surprise to say that next time we are working in the area we will definitely be back 💯👍🏻

Went for a takeaway,Prawn Purée was a watered prawn gravy on on some sort of bread, absolutely no taste at all. The Lamb biryani was tasteless as well and had no resemblance to a Biryani at all. My friend who really enjoys his food could not finish his Biryani, as he thought the Lamb may of been off, and it went into the bin, because of that I didn’t eat mine. Without doubt the worst Curry I have ever had and I can assure you I have eaten enough of them. I really don’t think they had a Indian cook working for them.I spent over £40 for something I could of bought and enjoyed more from a Supermarket, which would of cost £15. Not happy at all 🤬

Booked to see Elvis and was not happy to find that it was a 5 course meal at £35 head, Wasn’t told this when booked and no posters up either. It was far too much and we didn’t order even 3 courses each. The singer was fun and a good Elvis but his equipment was not up to the job. His mike was muffled and you could barely understand what he was saying and singing. Really not good enough for the price as once drinks added on it was a. Dry expensive evening

We came to Tamarind for a special occasion. We had a comfortable seat in the window. The very attentive waiters were wonderful. We never had an empty glass and little extras came in between each course. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented. The food was all freshly cooked, hot and delicious! We weren't hurried at any time and were able to relax and savour our wonderful meal. We will return!

We saw the reviews and the fact that this is in the top 3 of the Asian Restaurants in the Home Counties. Rugby on tonight so we thought take away. OMG! What a hidden gem! Atmosphere amazing, staff charming, owner walking through the restaurant continuously to ensure everyone is happy, including the take away customers. We had a really lovely glass of wine while we waited. Got the food home and ….. the nicest, lightest, tastiest Indian meal that I have ever had!! Even the lime pickle is home made and just perfect. Next time I’ll take some photos but we were hungry and wanted to get in to the living room for Englands last World Cup game. Great experience and fantastic food!! And a great price too, particularly for the quality.

We are so lucky to have such a high qualify restaurant af our door step. Tuesday night it’s banquet night and for £15 you get a starter main side and rice. Insane. The quality of the ingredients is second to none and the service is top drawer. Lovely line and table ware too. Always a little free drink at the ends as well.

We booked online and got a booking confirmation. Turned up early and they had no record of it. Showed them our email and they said they had so many bookings they had not seen it. Stood for 15 minutes and left hungry. Went out of our way to go there as well.

Was recommended to us by plenty of people locally and didn't disappoint we enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much we have returned 3 times and it only gets better, staff are very attentive and the owner takes the time and trouble to greet everyone individually and remembers you from previous visits.

If this is your way to get tips, why simply not add a constant service fee percentage and end this rude and aggressive approach to extracting money from clients?

Superb meal and wonderful service

After reading the reviews we travelled half an hour to try out the Tamrind, on a wet, windy Friday night, assuming at 6.00pm it would be quiet. How wrong we could have been, finding it almost full, with a great atmosphere and a warm welcome....

My husband and I had a great time at the Tamarind. Food was incredible and the service was amazing too everyone super friendly, helpful and attentive. Would definitely recommend and we will also definitely be returning soon!

I’ve travelled all the way from Dartford to this restaurant out and we wasn’t disappointed. We’ve been here a few times already and the food and the service are always good. Highly recommend. Especially on banquet night on Tuesdays!
