Raj Bari Sevenoaks in Sevenoaks

First timer. Service was excellent. Fairly decent atmosphere. Menu is decent. Some of the food was good, but some of the curries were strangely quite bland. Good parking and conveniently located near the station.

Thank you, Raj Bari staff, for ensuring we enjoyed a lovely evening meal with you earlier this week. The restaurant itself is very clean, smart and comfortable, and we were made to feel very at home by all the staff who waited on us. We found the menu choices, especially the Chefs Specials, offered tremendous choice and variety, at very fair prices, We loved our selections, and would not hesitate to return (We live over an hour away, sadly.). A really first-class Indian restaurant!

Had previously rated 5 stars. I have been back since, told the waiter at the time of being seated, was told no problem. When the bill came I was told it wasn't accepted. They took 5% off the bill but of course left the 12.5% service on the bill which was cheeky. Food and portion sizes have also significantly reduced, the rice served was different from the one ordered and quality of the meat didn't seem as good as before either. Plenty of good Indian resurants in the area that I will now use instead.

Very close to the train station and the Premier Inn. I had saag paneer, tarka dhal and keema rice. Each separate item was full of flavour, standing up for itself which is exactly right for any restaurant. I ordered the thicker version of the tarka dhal and they got it bang on! I will not be hesitating to go again next time I'm in Sevenoaks. Perhaps the only thing I can be critical of is them adding 12.5% "service gratuity" to the bill without me asking. As a solo customer I thought that isn't right. If they give me the payment machine and allow me to discreetly enter an amount as a tip I'm happy with that but not to automatically add it before I've even seen the bill.

Amazing service, very tender chicken and all the flavours worked well together, nothing was overpowering. It is perfect for a filling lunch

We went to Raj Bari last night to celebrate my son's gcses. We had such a wonderful night, the waiters were kind and friendly, the seating so comfortable and the food was absolutely gorgeous - especially the naan bread - I can still taste it now! We all loved what we had ordered and would definitely go back there again. Highly recommend!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I ordered a naan for a pickup and the man who served me was so nice he gave me chocolates whilst I was waiting and was very polite. He then gave me the naan bread on the house which was absolutely wonderful! The food is great and order there everytime, food is just delish. 10/10

An incredibly disappointing experience that points to serious quality control issues. My group of six came in just for chai and deinks before our train. I ordered two chai. They came english style jnstead of being brewed like Indian Chai. Separate milk and just tepid water for a lonely tea bag sitting in a cup. If you are going to serve English tea, then don't claim you serve chai. My wife ordered a desi soda. We were given mango juice instead. Tried to get it fixed but we had to leave and never got it. I ordered a bottle of water with 4 glasses. Dry brought two glasses. I asked for two more cups (that was a mistake). They brought two more tea cups... I pointed to the water glasses and said i wasn't two more for water. They brought tea cups full of water. I again emphasized the water glasses and they brought two glasses filled with tap water. I guess I should have spoken in Hindi but who can tell which language to use for even minimal service?

The food was very bland and the lamb was very tough. The waiter was good, personable and friendly to my daughters. We were the only people in there on a Saturday so I guess other people think the food isn't great. "Discretionary" service charge was added at 12% which I didn't notice until after I had paid and left a cash tip as I was just handed the card machine with a figure already entered so that is sneaky.

We really enjoyed our experience at the Raj Bari. I ordered the chicken korma and it was delicious! Just the right consistency and so tasty! I also had a side of the peshwari naan which was great with the curry. The food was also very well priced! The service was very good, the waiters were very attentive and informative. The food also came out very quick, we did not have to wait long for the food to come out which was great! However, this may have been due to us coming at a quieter time. We dined on a Friday night, the restaurant was about half full, bear in mind the restaurant isn’t too big. This added a nice atmosphere to the meal. There was a variety of different people dining at the time, some with children whilst some with elderly people. I don’t think the Raj Bari has a specific age focus! The decor was nice but definitely dated, it looks nice but has some cracks in the paint and dirt in the corners, overall this isn’t all that noticeable when you are dining as the main focus is the large fish tank in the middle of the restaurant and the large, well decorated bar. The restaurant is very easy to find with it being on the high street on the way out of the Sevenoaks train station which is very convenient. There is also a sizeable car park out front which makes it very easy and accessible. The Raj Bari also does very nice takeaways with the food being kept nice and warm in plastic containers whilst keeping the authentic style that you get inside the restaurant. Overall I really enjoyed the Raj Bari and have it all the time, would definitely recommend this to anyone whether they are with other people or not!

I am from out of town, staying on business. Great side dish but terrible main. Considering its was a Chefs Special, lumps of over cooked chicken in a bland sauce. Absolute rip off. However Staff were quick to replace with my request of a small chicken tikka but still got charged with the main and then asked for a tip. If you are serving this quality food on a Thursday night as your main course for the price you are charging, you have a lot of ground to make up. This place seems to be on the thin end of the wedge. I would not recommend.

We haven’t been to the Raj for ages and I’d forgotten how delicious it is. Delicious curries and fluffy naans. Very good for vegetarians too.

Classic British Indian restaurant vibe. I had mutton which was tough and rubbery. Otherwise unremarkable.

We loved the food very much. Everything was well made and our special requests were listened too. Tawa chops were fantastic, I highly recommend it, especially if you don't like it spicy. Salmon biryani was also great, as was Murgh Palpali...and to be honest everything else we tried. The kids enjoyed sweet Kashmiri rice which wasn't spicy. We will definitely order from you again!

Sorry to say this, but the food here just isn’t that great…

Haven't been here in over 5 years. Checked outell the local places but have to say this place doesn't disappoint. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is on point will come again

Beware they advertise one price on their website and then charge a higher price when you collect your order.

Restaurant was lovely and service was great. Food was nice too - the poppdom and chutney selection was fantastic and but certain dishes like the chicken tika aren't up to par.

I had Tandoori Mixed Grill with salad and naan to be delivered. Hardly any meat on lamb rib, what there was was so tough even the fox buried it. The chicken had obviously been cooked and reheated, it was very very dry. To cap it all there was NO salad that arrived.

We have been here a few times now and we started going to the Raj because it was half way between us and some friends. Such a great find that we go more often now even though it is a 45 min drive from us and we have other Indian restaurants closer. Food is great, staff are very nice and it is a comfortable and relaxing environment, also easy to park.

Food & atmosphere was good, however we can’t say they same for pricing & service. We got charged £5:90 for a children’s Apple Juice and £6.50 per pint of Kingfisher. The waiter was extremely pushy sales wise, telling us rice and side portions were very small so did we want 2? And he got a bit funny when another couple with our group had the Audacity to share a rice! To top it off they tried adding a 12.5% service charge which we wasn’t prepared to pay so instead we left a 5% tip Instead which again was greeted with an uncomfortable exchange with the waiter when working the bill out, we won’t be rushing back.

Me and my boyfriend came here for a late night meal out, having the knowledge that it was late we were aware that it was going to be quiet however during this time the staff seemed fairly unprofessional. They were sat down slouched at another table talking, the waiter kept walking past us to see if we had finished our starters in addition to this he saw that I had almost finished my meal but still proceeded to ask when I was going to finish because our mains were ready! Usually when I go to an Indian, I get a rice to share between two but here one rice wasn’t enough for one person!

The food was exceptional. The service was super friendly and the owner even gave us complementary drinks. All and all would definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of good honest Indian food We had wonderful time here. Staff was very courteous. The food was amazing. We just thought to give it a try because we were in this area but pleasantly surprised with quality of food and service. Just round the corner from us, this has been our local takeaway for years. We go here every Friday night after work. The Chicken Madras is great and the staff always friendly They deserve better rating for sure.

Went for dinner whilst in the area. The Ford was excellent and the service was great. Coming from the Midlands and being Indian food lovers I would consider ourselves quite fussy and particular in our taste. I have to say the Raj Bari did not disappoint. The Railway Mutton and the Masala Lamb Shank stood out for special praise. All was excellent!

Last week went rajbari with my friends,we ordered some starters like as lam chops,chicken momo, those are really testy 🖤than we ordered our main 1 tandoori chicken,and one murag palpali which are really good and naan bread was really tasty,wish we will go again

I can honestly say that this was the worst Indian takeaway I’ve ever had no taste no texture chicken tough plus every dish tasteless, then on top of all this price is a joke . Go any where else and you will not be as disappointed

We love to eat in Raj Bari and doing a regular take aways. Staff always friendy and polite. Can be very noisy if bigger groups sitting in the restaurant can’t behave like a normal respecful people. However,one thing is very dissapointing ans that’s the size of the curries and rice portions(little bowl of rice for £3.50 is absolutely horrible) But we love the tikka masala flavour and Madras 👍

Not sure if the chef has changed but the rice today of the chicken tikka biryani had not much taste due to the lack of salt. But other dishes were fine. Both Chili King Prawn and Papadam were tasty. I specially like their spicy tea which was very rich. Also they gave a vegetable curry on every biryani ordered, i like their thought of a balanced meal. I gave 4 star as the waiter just scattered the bunch of cutlery to me after i sat down, so i had to do the table setting by myself. Maybe it's a local restaurant so service was also a bit casual. But before it wasn't like this.

I took my family for iftar. All the food was so rubbish. No flavour or taste. My 15yrs child can cook better. We ate it only because we were fasting. Waiting staff was good.

Easily one of the worst Curries I've ever had. Very watery with no texture. Chicken in coloured water. The venue was clean and friendly - but the food was so dissapointing.

Over 12 years, we've dined in the restaurant and had many, many takeaways. But in the last two years, staff have changed, it's not what it used to be. Finally, I got overcharged, and they ignored my communications. I'm sure portion sizes are half what they used to be. We won't be going back There are plenty of other places.

The chicken tikka masala was sweetened with coconut and was colored pink rather than reddish orange. The quantity of the two vegetarian sides we ordered was really quite meager and the size of the naan bread was very small for the price. Both taste and value were most disappointing. The nearby parking and the pleasant interiors as well as clean toilet were at least convenient. The 12.5% discretionary service charge was quite high too.

We had wonderful time here. Staff was very courteous. The food was amazing. We just thought to give it a try because we were in this area but pleasantly surprised with quality of food and service. They deserve better rating for sure.

We were visiting Sevenoaks for a family wedding and the Rajbari was convenient to our hotel the night before our event . We dined as a family young and old . Raffi arranged our table upon booking and from our arrival to evening end we were made to feel welcome , valued and served with consideration. Add to that faultless food and great value, we had a super evening .

A very disappointing home delivery service with 4 items missing. After calling to tell them I would like a refund of these items I was told I would get a call back from the manager that evening. No call, so a day later I call back to be told he is aware. Why did he not have the decency to call back on the evening or the following day. We have visited Raj Bari and had home delivery several times in the last few years and feel the quality and standard has gone down, such a shame.

Having splashed out £73 for a welcome home curry for 3 people after 2 weeks abroad. Despite the food being nice we feel cheated and won’t be returning. As you can see from the pics the quantity in the tubs was very poor indeed!!

My wife and I called in on Sunday night after nine following a rail journey. Text book pleasant welcome from staff and we were shown to nice table. Faiyaj served us very promptly and quickly brought us our papadam’s and chutney’s which were fresh and...

Rubbish. Ordered Chicken Tikka main and it had a measly 4 small pieces of chicken. Complained to restaurant, they said they’d send another portion, and driver ‘couldn’t find my house’ the second time around and didn’t deliver. Not acceptable - don’t use these guys.

Ordered 2 night chicken tikka starter x2 four bits of chicken in each .No side salad with both.Lamb ribs 2 pieces no meat on any of the them should have put my £30 quid in the bin .Never order from them again total waste of money

Delivery time was 45mins on ordering, took 1 hour 20mins. Forced to order a minimum of £20 even though live in Sevenoaks district. Popadoms not usual ones you get, cooked folded, small and not fresh Dips under par, over salty Sandal so sweet, I only...

Pre-booked a table. Arrive to friendly service. Quickly ordered food and drinks... Drinks came very quickly, however food took nearly 2 hours to arrive. In which time beers and soft drinks... Party of 5 drank 4 beers each @ £4.50 1 drank Coke x 2 @ £3.95 and 1 drank brandy and coke x 2 @ £?? Then 3 x double brandy and coke.Food when arrived was nice however not £53 per head nice after waiting 2 hours for our food and 1.5 hours for the last 3 super expensive brandy and cokes.

Delivery late . Driver had no change !!!!!! Lamb was chewy and couldn't even eat. 30.00 wasted. Should of paid for a lamb kebab from bat and ball . Nicer and cheaper. .

Truly awful experience, on arrival told to sit and wait after booking days in advance. Nearly 60 minutes later and lots of carrot dangling we became fed up and left. Not even an apology. What sort of place is so unorganised these days? Shocking and one to avoid forever.
