Food tasty as always, HOLLY was delightful. Venison and bacon casserole is great value for money, and very filling. Some of the other customers were very rude, but that's not the staffs fault at all and they were very good about it :)

Best ever Sunday lunch since Denis and Jean left the pub many many years ago, so nice to have a warm welcome, friendly service and a great open fire. We booked rather late and nothing was to much trouble Long may it continue. Snowey and Vanessa

Had a Sunday roast for my wife’s birthday. We were a large party and were given a room to ourselves. The service was great and the food excellent. We bought a cake with us and the staff were happy to let us use their plates for the cake. Would thoroughly recommend this place for Sunday roast. Thanks everyone.

It was supposed to be a very nice relaxing day with a good meal good atmosphere to celebrate Christmas. First of all I walk in with followed by a white family behind me. We both stand and wait to be seated when the head waiter/manager comes along he goes straight to talking to the white family behind me and ignores me. Strike 1: Thankfully the white family were decent and corrected this white head waiter/manager’s errors, but he does not apologise for over looking me, strike 2: He tells me that I was 10min early I should wait and so I do, the white family who were behind me were then seated ahead of me this could be that their table became free first who knows, anyway I then wait a further 30mins to get seated, and a further hour for my food to suddenly show up and this was only when I started getting upset for having bothered to arrive on time for the timed booking and as you can see from the pictures when the food came it wasn’t fit to eat, I wouldn’t serve it to my CAT. While I appreciate that it was Christmas busy time etc, there is just no excuse for scheduling timed booking slots but then fail to uphold the level of service expected by the customers keeping me waiting for 30mins past the scheduled booked time slot is unacceptable and furthermore preparing my food and leaving it under some hot plate, before I am even seated at a table so that when I did eventually get it an hour later it was not fit for human consumption. Then to be informed that I should not be upset because they were busy… that is not my concern and I refuse to be treated in this disgusting manner and paying for food that was not fit for human consumption absolutely disgusting behaviour and appalling service would not recommend this pub to the public for any meals.

Myself,my wife and our dog went here for dinner. We had both looked at the menu online beforehand and had pretty much decided what we were going to have. When we arrived,we were shown to our table and given the menus… We both ordered a drink and had a look over the menu.. The menu/food isn’t very imaginative and it’s quite basic. We ordered a couple of starters to share and we also ordered our mains… The food was a bit of a let down… The staff are very friendly and attentive. I doubt I’d go again and it’s unlikely I’d recommend this pub to anyone..

Four of us went for a meal. We can't fault a thing. The meal was absolutely delicious. One had the beyond burger, 2 had the chicken schnitzel and I had the gamon. Everyone had clean plates when we had finished. The puddings were delicious to. The staff were great and very inviting and friendly. We will be going back again.

The service was pleasant, however the food was cold and tasteless. Sent back the lasagne as it was cold and they obviously microwaved it and sent the one I had returned back which is not good practice in a professional kitchen (I knew it was the original as I had cut the middle). Kids pizzas were undercooked and doughy.

My wife & I love The Parrot. It is one of the oldest pubs/restaurant in Canterbury. There is a fabulous ambience that maybe due just to the age, The Parrot was established in 1370. There are wooden beams & large fireplaces. Francis & the team are friendly & welcoming, attentive but not intrusive, giving excellent service. The menu is diverse & the food is tasty & well presented. There are a fair selection of wines, spirits & beers. We are never rushed, able to relax & have a well deserved stress break in this oasis of calm in a world/city that constantly in a rush. The Parrot is so good it rates as our favourite in Canterbury.

Booked today for Afternoon Tea and wanted to say how lovely Ebony was- looking after us and making sure we had everything we needed. Ebony was welcoming, friendly and cheerful. She made the experience excellent, and is obviously very proud of her job and where she works. She definitely went the extra mile. Thanks again for such an enjoyable tea.
