Staff that have worked hard yet under pressure... just to make money for a owner that doesn't care. Very sad

Totally gobsmacked asked for a pint of Guiness barmaid crack open a tin of guineas poured it into a pint glass not even a pint and charged me £4.10 lol honestly you got to laugh absolute p!$$ take subsequently I shall never vist again rip off? A tin ffs grrrr

We had a reunion in Nelsons, which was alright, a bit small as a venue for the amount of people attending but it managed.

We popped in on the odd chance to try Sunday lunch which was fine. The roast beef and fresh veg were tasty and the portion size was too much for us as we had been suffering from a cold and every time I coughed an old man in the corner told us to fxxx off. This went on throughout our meal until I finally had a word. The lounge was empty besides us and him. This put us off our meal and we left. Having just traveled from Malta for a hospital appointment this was all I needed. However, that is life.

We popped in for breakfast when the nearby Weatherspoons’ fire alarm caused an evacuation of everyone inside and loss of the kitchen ‘for the foreseeable future’. My other half ordered a small traditional Sunday Roast (gammon or beef, and she chose the gammon), which was a surprisingly large portion for only £4.95 and far better quality than the price would suggest. I had a Sunday Brunch (2 fried eggs, 2 bacon rashers, 2 sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and chips), which was again nicely priced at only £5.50, and good quality. With friendly and quick service, we will definitely be coming back to Nelsons in the future. Many thanks 😀

we visited on the 25th august and was surprised how reasonably priced the food menu was and it was of good quality food and a .wide selection on the menu next time we would try a breakfast.

Dropped in here yesterday for a quick pint...only to be told that they don't do contactless payments AND has a minimum of £10 spend on card transactions? Seriously? In 2018 they haven't seen the future? Worse was the prices...a pint of Stella Artois came in at £4.70!!! In my local in Eastleigh...it's £3.15...that's a difference of £1.55 per pint!!! Add to that the colourful characters and their equally colourful language, this is definitely not the place to bring your wife, sister, mother or favourite aunt. On the plus side...my car whisked me safely home and has magically erased Gosport from the SatNav.

Stopped and had breakfast here with a couple of friends on two occasions. First time I walked in the place,I noticed how clean and shining everything was. Two sizes of breakfast the small is a ok size but if your hungry the big one will fill anyone. Well presented and hot. Staff were very friendly and the cost unbelievable for what you got. Thank you and look forward to coming back.

Il y a quelques jours, ma femme et moi avions besoin de se restaurer tard dans la matinée. Nous sommes rentrés dans le premier pub, le Nelsons dans la rue piétonne.nous avons commander un breakfast, quoi de plus ordinaire ! Et bien c'était excellent. Le jambon était excellent, les œufs parfaits et les frites divines, bien croustillantes. Prix minimum moins cher qu'un Macdo et infiniment meilleur. On peut bien manger dans certains pubs!

Went with other half & a friend for lunch. I went for Sausage & Mash, with peas & onion gravy, mash was a little on dry side for me, but with the gravy it was not to bad. There is 3 large sausages, well worth the cost. They do have a special board, behind the bar.

Когда мы впервые увидели паб с таким названием, думали, что-то интересное. Оказалось ничего особенного, ничего интересного. Совсем нет атмосферы какого-то старого паба или кафе, что обычно ожидается от главной улицы города. Еда тоже так себе, достаточно было дорого и не столь вкусно. Я помню, зашли в это место еще 4 года назад, был ужасно неприветливый грубый охранник. Спустя годы снова зашли, но мнение не поменялось. Вытянутая форма помещения, нет ощущения присутствия в старинном историческом месте со специальной атмосферой.

Bit rough looking but clean inside,service was good and most of us had the set roast with choice of beef or Gammon,Large or Regular.Well,Regular was huge so don't know what the large could be like and all for £4.95!! Bit of a wait but were chatting and looked freshly cooked veg,all very good for pub food! Thatchers Cider was good too,just too cold!!

Normally pop in with friends on a Sat if down town. Jack Rabbit wine reasonably priced. Must admit not had food for a while, so this occassion will not comment on food. Friendly bar staff

Nicely decorated pub with decent food and good beer. The clientele is a bit rough but the service is pretty good.

A nice pub ruined by the staffs total failure to make any attempt to control the language .We were going to have a meal ,but walked out in disgust.Offensive language was non stop , whilst the staff did nothing , shamefull !

If you want somewhere not expensive and great food, then Nelsons is the place. I have eaten there and there is so much on the plate,.well worth every penny.

We had Sunday lunch here for the first time it was amazing. The vegetables were freshly prepared. The beef was cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire puddings were just right. The staff were all very friendly and even the Chef came out to see if...

The chips were a bit too crispy for my liking but the waiting staff were really friendly and my friends liked their paninis.

Many of their dishes are home made (including their chips). Drinks & food are the right price & the staff are lovely. Manage to do what wetherspoons try to do, but better!

I went to nelsons for the first time on saturday. The roast beef dinner was well cooked and plentiful. The staff were all very friendly.It was not too crowded and I shall certainly return and I recommend it.

Been here a few times and the service has allways been top notch. Friendly bar man. Cheap drinks. Modern, nice atmosphere. Best time to go is in afternoon. Pub isnt busy. Food is served promptly and piping hot. Good value. Will continue to come back again and again. Very well run. Manager should be proud.

Went for lunch, had lasagna with chips & even if the service was a little slow they apologise and really good pub food. Very welcoming place.

Sun was shining, and a few little beers and some pub grub! Honestly, nice pub food and watching the rugby was great. Service was great. Can't fault.

Nice clean pub, great heritage of a Naval town. Great food and comfortable atmosphere ... well worth a visit!!

Haven't been it nelsons for a very long time.was very surprise ,lovely pub,food was very good after a minor hiccup which was sorted very quickly.service was brilliant ,staff very friendly .
