The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Although I live just a short distance from this pub, I'd never been inside. My friend and I booked aa table for lunch; there was a steady stream of diners arriving, mostly regulars I'd say. We both had scampi and chips, then I had ice cream with chocolate sauce and hundreds and thousands (aka 'sprinkles'). My friend had the ginger pudding and ice cream, which she said was very good. A few people had dogs with them, but they weren't a problem. The lady serving us was friendly and efficient and even apologised for the slight delay in taking our order. The loos were clean and airy. I thought it was very good value for money; in short, I liked it very much

Went there with my friend for a coffee and it was delicious. The person that served us was amazing, so friendly. And they take cash, which is always to be commended.

Great Fullers pub. ESB on tap. Evening open times. Went for Sunday evening drinks. Not many pubs open Sunday night in this area. Thank you for being open.

Truly sad to hear this pub is closing. The food, service and atmosphere was always superb and I hope it re-opens as a pub again in the future.

A pub with an absolutely lovely atmosphere in the centre of the beautiful Whitstable. The pub is authentic with a cozy feel and has plenty of board games on offer that everyone was getting into, making for a lovely vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive and the drinks on offer were lovely too. Felt like a warm, friendly inn with welcoming lights and friendliness after a busy day. Definitely stop off here if you visit the town.

I am a kind of burger fan, my other half celebrates the national fish and chips day here 😊, but I would say here the Scottish Cod and the Berrick Burger are the non-plus ultra of pub food nationwide ✅ All ingredients supplied by local farms, bakeries. Hospitality, kindness, five stars, A+ class. Pets friendly, playground for kids, beer garden, spacious carpark, friendly locals. Strongly recommended place☝

Staff are he fishing and friendly

Had an unexpected lunch here last Friday - a beautiful sunny day. We had a really delicious 'wrap' type lunch with divine chips, delicious cheesecake and icecream. What a lovely setting and very warm and friendly service. Will most definitely return especially as moved fairly locally last year - a great 'find'. Such a pretty little village too.

Massively gone downhill with new management. Very unwelcoming, rude staff. We used to love walking here but not what it used to be.
