Love the team at The Old Bell! Such a friendly family, they always make you feel so welcome. The food is all delicious but you have to try their Sunday roasts, delicious, great portions and I’m yet to try a more delicious giant yorkshire pudding. Thanks for always showing us a great time!

We came here today with our family & friends for our son’s birthday dinner celebration. The staff and management went above and beyond to make it an amazing experience. The food was superb and the chef even made exclusively a favourite dish which was excellent and then presented a delicious birthday pudding treat at the end. I highly recommend the The Old Bell Country Inn at Wooburn Green for it’s amazing food and outstanding service all round

Upgraded to a two star review as i cannot justify anymore than that. The inn was supposed to be open as we had checked times, but when we arrived, it was shut. we checked again on a different day but also shut, I will update if we ever find it open. Not a fake review as the owner states, I just hadn't had time to write the review before they posted their comment.

Warm and friendly neighbourhood pub. Doesn’t look much from the outside but cosy pleasant atmosphere inside. Garden at rear with protection from the rain. Not the smartest pub, not the most up-to date (thank goodness) but if you want a traditional pub atmosphere, this is the place.

Wow, what a lovely pub! Came here last night for the first time in years. The welcome was so lovely and the staff were all so friendly! The carpark gets quite full quickly, so you may need to park down the side street. There is a great choice on the menu with truly something for all tastes, especially vegetarians. Our food came quickly and was absolutely delicious, really fresh and well cooked. The portion sizes are excellent, and you wouldn't want more. The desserts are all homemade and a must if you have room! The pub has a lovely atmosphere, with a nice mix of some people just having a drink and others eating. When we were there on Friday night, they had someone playing a piano, which really topped the evening off. I'm definitely going to be back!

1 night here, £120. Food was amazing, really nice beer too. Staff are so helpful and can't do enough for you. Car park isn't massive, no height restrictions. Queit area. However, £120 for a room for 1 night!!! This is what you get! I was in room 2 at the top of the stairs, could hear everyone going up and down, and voices next door loud and clear. This has to be one of the noisiest rooms I've ever stayed in, I stay away every week. I'd eat here again every day, but never stay here again.

Very very disappointed! We hired this pub for a family event. Food was good. But the staff were not ! We were told to keep the door shut “ I’m paying the heating bills “. The pub was soo hot. We were ushered to a private room at 1700 as a quiz was due to start at 8pm !! The pub had 3 people in it. The room we were put in was NOT set up for a function and we could not all fit in it ! Loads of stored tables, a couple of chairs , no bar. It was not a function room. It was terrible and unnecessary! 1900 pub still VERY EMPTY. Definitely will not be returning.

My in-laws live in High Wycombe and for years we've enjoyed going for lunches at The Old Bell when we visit them. On this occasion it was Mother-in-Law's birthday. Booked but didn't realise it has been taken over from the previous owners. Greeting was friendly, starters came super quick and were tasty (Mackerel Pate and Chicken Wings). So far so good, 4 roasts and a Caesar Salad for mains. Worryingly, mains came out literally seconds after the starter plates were taken away. What a horrible sight (think of School Dinners); everything already served on the plate (no helping yourself at the table) awash with watery brown liquid (NOT a rich gravy), the yellow mush turned out to be Cauliflower Cheese, beef look alright but turned out chewy, roast potatoes weren't - they were the shape of a frisbee and looked like they'd been fried on one side (and were now waterlogged sitting in the puddle of brown liquid) and the huge Yorkshire was burnt to a crisp (dark brown/black). The waitress came past asking if everything was OK, before I could answer she walked off. As she passed again, I explained I was not happy because of the above. She informed who I assumed was the owner/manager who asked if I wanted anything else, I refused (if that was the standard of food, no thanks and I had lost my appetite). Nobody finished the roasts but salad was finished. Desserts were 2 x ice cream (can't get that wrong) and Apple Pie and Custard which came upside down resulting in soggy pastry. On receiving the bill (over £150) I noted no concession at all for the appalling meals, I did raise this with a waitress who just walked past. I decided not to make a scene and upset the family so paid and left. Clearly the owner/manager who we walked past on leaving didn't care, she had our money by then, as no apologies were offered. Spoilt a Birthday treat and we will never ever return to The Old Bell. A real shame as we had been looking forward to returning to an old favourite.

Friendly staff but terrible room . Small pokey and run down. Floor was sloping so it felt like your head was below your legs when sleeping. Food at The Old Bell is ok but in terms of the room there’s a difference between quaint and downright uncomfortable and the owners haven’t figured that out yet. Don’t stay here.

We fancied a stay-away and found the Old Bell on line without any personal recommendations, and we were very happy we did! Authentic and old, we stayed in a lovely room that was almost like an annex with our own private entrance. On a cold and windy winters night, the roaring log fire in the bar complimented the friendly atmosphere and a delicious home-cooked meal. The standard was excellent, as was the freshly prepared breakfast.I can recommend the Old Bell to anyone who appreciates good food, an unfussy environment and old fashioned pub atmosphere.

Came here with family (6 of us) for an evening meal. Car park was large at the rear, the pub has not changed much in 40+ years I have been going here, clearly they have painted & improved as time has evolved. The staff were polite & friendly & plenty of food options available. Typical starter price was £6.95 with mains at £18.95, cant say about the desserts as I did not have one. Therefore,, the average bill was around £65 / couple. I had the Devilled kidneys of the specials menu and they wee great, much better than my mum use to make in the 70's. For my main, I had venison steak, it was without doubt, one of the nicest I have had to date.Would I go back again = yes if I started to earn money again.

Best not to turn up towards the end of service as, being a pub restaurant, it may well have run out of a few of the things on the menu (we were actually quite pleased about that as it does show that everythings pretty fresh and cooked to order!). Service all done with courtesy and humour. Nice staff. A great local pub that welcomes strangers!

Ordered a cajun burger which came out raw in the middle. Took back, this was put in the microwave and brought out again in under two minutes. I returned again as this is not a satisfactory way to deal with raw chicken. I was told "what do you want, another whole new burger?" By a young blonde lady working behind the bar. I said no, my money back please. The money for the burger was reluctantly returned. I realised the money for the chips hadn't been refunded which i then requested. I was sneered at and told "there was nothing wrong with the chips". The chips were taken away with the meal, and were soggy after being microwaved! Unbelievable.

We recently went to the Old Bell Pub for a special Mother's day Dinner. I booked very last minute, and this pub was one of the only ones that responded to me with availability for Mother's day, although I had to be quick! (very popular place.) The pub is not a large pub, but has a nice eating area down a step, which has around 7-8 tables, which makes for a nice atmosphere. The food was GREAT! Huge portions of good quality food, we all went for the roast dinners, and they did not disappoint. And for pudding, the chef had decided to knock up a chocolate and Bailey's cheesecake, not on the menu, which was delicious. I visit here often and usually recommend it as somewhere to go when I have family over for Sunday roasts as they are usually very nice especially the lamb! However I went a few weeks ago and felt a little left in the corner, we ordered our food and it came out in an acceptable amount of time, ate our food and waited for the bill we was there a total of about 3 hours and see the waitress once, we asked for things that never came and had to go to the bar to ordered deserts and then pay for our bill as we was just waiting around. I think the staff was new to waitressing as a whole as I didn't recognise them so hopefully when I re-visit it will be a little better other than that food A*

Contacted the proprietor at short notice to book Sunday Lunch. They were fully booked but we were offered a table for two in the bar which we gratefully accepted. When we arrived we managed to get a parking space in the public house car-park.We were welcomed by the bar staff and a young man said that we could sit wherever we liked after informing him that we had booked for lunch. I chose a table by the window and was pleased to obtain such a favourable spot which seated four persons. We settled down with a drink but then were asked to move to another table in the corner which seated three persons so had to get used to it. We ordered our meal and didn't have to wait too long to be served with it. My husband ordered roast beef with the usual trimmings and I had Camembert cheese with Cranberries followed by a nutty ice-cream dessert which were both delicious. The roast beef also went down very well indeed. The atmosphere in the pub was very relaxed as they allowed dogs into the bar. We didn't mind as we have a dog of our own but some people might have felt uneasy about It. We found it quite amusing as one dog sat for quite a while looking out of the window at the traffic going bye.My husband met an old friend who came to join us at our table for a chat but unsurprisingly didn't stay long as he was facing quite closely to a blank wall in the corner when he wasn't turning to face us.The lady that appeared to run the public house and restaurant was very friendly and helpful when we asked about their accommodation. The decor was not great as there was chipped paint-work quite noticeable but we didn't particularly mind this as we had had a very satisfying experience on the whole.

Went for a meal on a Friday night with my partner. We'd heard they do some good pub grub but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and the vibe was relaxed. We'll 100% be going back soon. 100% recommend the Old Bell in Wooburn Green.

I wrote a few weeks before our visit to enquire about access with a wheelchair.Helen the landlady was quick to reply and explained that there were two steps but they could give assistance and it would not be a problem. On arrival we were able to park conveniently in a fairly spacious car park. The interior seems a little dated but comfortable.I had a pint of real ale which was well kept. The food was very good indeed. My wife had the fish pie which she said had plenty of fish (some fish pies can be more potato than fish!) and I had the lamb which was tender and tasty.I had my usual chocolate brownie for sweet and my wife had creme brûlée which she said was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This pub is very local to where we live but had never tried the food, we are glad now that we have, I had the pan fried cod from the specials menu which was a generous portion and beautifully cooked, this pub has a nice atmosphere the staff are attentive and very friendly, everything you would expect from a local business. We had an early dinner at 5:30 on a Saturday but by the time we left the tables were filling. I will be recommending this pub to friends and family

Stayed at the Old Bell Pub. Their rooms are absolute okay, compared with the price versus facilities. I stayed at Room 1, it was a big room, but way to noisy from the road, they should do something about it, when the traffic started in the morning around 6 am it was like sleeping at the highway. The food at the pub is good, high quality, and all the people working there is so cool and really taking good care of their guests. I would return, but definitely not at Room 1 :-)

Don't just drive past go in for a very pleasant surprise. Great menu with tasty food. Sitting in the garden in good weather would be another attraction. Very friendly staff and quick service.

Don't be put off by the lack of stylish decor in this old coaching inn. What you will find here is pure old school pub decor with friendly service to match. We popped in today for a quinck lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find some unusual offerings on the menu. All dishes were reasonably priced, generously sized and delicious.

While staying at the b&b part of the old bell, we decided on our last night to try out the food.Service was quick as well as done with a smile and staff were knowledgeable about drinks they had to offer.Food was served quickly once ordered and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend trying out their daily specials.

I've frequented the Old Bell for almost 15 years. It's changed hands a few times. I can quite honestly say that now it is better than ever. This is because:The food is delicious - my whole family agrees as we went for a family meal together. I particularly recommend the Cajun chicken. The atmosphere is very welcoming. As a new Mum, I feel very comfortable taking my young daughter and I happily breast feed without feeling uncomfortable. They are so accommodating. Whether it be an intimate meal, a birthday party or a get together of a group of friends with our babies. My husband is thrilled that they serve the local, highly rated Rebellion beer. He's always going on about it being the perfect temperature.Lovely surroundings with a park and woodland for walks near by.All in all, my favourite traditional pub.

Popped in for dinner with a colleague while staying nearby on business. Excellent food, large portions. Pub has little character but is very clean and well managed. The bartender was very friendly and informative.

We chose our first visit to The Old Bell both because it was mid-way between where we live and where my daughter lives and we were impressed by the reviews. We were not disappointed..5 ratings for everything. We will be back.
