The King's Arms in Havant

This is a place I must have passed a thousand times without taking much notice but having visited with Some good friends I have to say wat a hidden gem it is. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is back to a good old fashioned pub. There isn't a huge choice of draft beers but the selection they do have are all very nice and I find having too much choice a distraction at times. I also chose to eat whilst we were there and can say with certainty that their burgers are worth a visit! I'll definitely be returning again soon and it just might be one of my favourites in the area.

A recent visit to The Kings Arms in Emsworth was truly a delight. The moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make sure every guest felt appreciated. Sipping on a perfectly poured pint while soaking in the cozy ambiance was the highlight of my visit. The pub boasts an impressive selection of local ales, and each pint is served with precision and care. Easy access & reasonable parking although limited. Warm welcome on arrival with a great cosy pub atmosphere too 😀. Menu choice & quality of home cooked food way above expectation + served very hot throughout alongside delicious desserts too. Friendly , accommodating service level(s) for the busy Friday evening was excellent mainly delivered by a young team member who apparently will be starting her NVQ’s while working full time @ the pub later this year 👍. Drink(s) range & presentation more than adequate. Value ? : not bad @ all by comparison. Clearly a well looked after local that deserves a 5 ⭐ rating. Re-visit ? - yes.

We fancied a bite to eat with friends but wanted to eat where the food was fresh and home made. The food choices are Fabulous too, from "pub grub" to a' la carte. My goodness it was so fantastic we can't wait to go back again. The staff were so super friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the was a lovely atmosphere too. We ordered drinks and food (normally this can take a good whole to get served but not in here). When the food came out surpassed our expectations, each course as wonderful as the next. Absolutely recommend this place, we'll be back again in a weeks time, can't wait.

What a place, the food is fantastic, the staff are so happy and friendly, fabulous atmosphere. Whether you're veggie or like meat the choices are excellent, the food is incredible, can't wait to visit again soon.

Burns Night menu which was available for several nights in January was amazing value. Lovely home cooked food, decent size portions and lovely welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Highly recommended!

First Christmas set menu I had was amazing but tonight the beef was salty and the sprouts like bullets. Disputed by kitchen. No offer of a pudding or drink or bill adjustment to compensate. Very hard faced. Really upset our family meal out. Won't be returning!

Fantastic little pub. Great atmosphere, excellent staff and the food was exceptional. We happened to stop off for a bite to eat and we got the last table on Friday night. A very cosy and friendly setting with a great selection of food and drinks. I would highly recommend a visit if your in the area.

Dear King's Arms. Me and my friends were utterly astounded by the quality of your one Stella Artois. Being half belgiumgeez, I am utterly horrified by the quality and taste of your one Stella Artois. The fact that your local frequent Stella adict was called upon to verify the quality of the one Stella Artois is very upsetting and made me feel very inadequate as a half Belguimgeez! In the future I would prefer that as a half belguimgeez you take my word for the appalling standard of thy one Stella Artois. Kind regards Ben Artois.

Cosy pub. Nice local beer and ciders.

A very nice pub with a good atmosphere considering it was a Wednesday night. We ordered the fish and chips and Bang Bang chicken. The food was delicious, first class and very good value for money. The garden was a good size with plenty of seating. I would visit again and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Lovely pub great staff didnt have any food so can't comment on that but will be back.

We stopped without having booked and found a lovely table in the garden, no problem, and our two dogs were welcome. We ordered two medium roast dinners (one lamb, one turkey). The food came out very quickly and we were reasonably impressed. Everything tasted good, and we appreciated the large pots of sauce and the large jug of delicious gravy. We did however feel that the amount of meat provided was inadequate - only two slices for a medium meal seems a bit mean.

We would love to thank the fantastic Landlord and staff here our 1st visit, we brought my wife here for her birthday, after a long days walk we had a fantastic Roast which tasted amazing and we had a great dessert too, the staff were welcoming, friendly and nothing to much trouble they even helped out by bringing my wifes surprise birthday cake out, thanks to them all for a fantastic end of day making memories, and as some of us are Stagecoach Bus 700 drivers we will defo be back x

Had lunch here for my Dad's 89th birthday and there was a really pleasant atmosphere. The serving staff were prompt & friendly, the food was nice & hot. I had the nut roast which was delicious 😋. I was really impressed with the overall experience.

We went for Tuesday steak night and the steak was delicious. We didn’t have to wait long for the food and the service was great, very attentive and smiley. We will defo be back for food to our new local.

Funniest crumble I have ever had rest of the meal OK.

We were recommended to eat here by friends who spoke very highly of the food and we were not disappointed. We arrived half an hour early but were attended to straight away by very friendly and attentive staff. I was very impressed that we were able to order the small Sunday roast lunch, I had lamb and my husband had turkey. All aspects were very well cooked, the potatoes were crispy, the vegetables done to perfection including the cauliflower cheese. We shared dessert of pineapple rum cake with mango sorbet and orange set cream. It was all delicious and our experience was enhanced by Molly our server who took the trouble to ask our names as we chatted to her and remembered them when we left. All in all a perfect lunch on Easter Sunday.

Excellent. Last here a number of years ago. Standards have been maintained! Attended yesterday on 'steak night'. Food expertly cooked, decent portion size, warm plates, friendly and professional service. Definately good value.

Great welcome as a walk in for a light lunch. Manager (I think), carried beers to table. They have tables reserved for drinkers, which is a welcome change from the norm. My chum had prawn sesimi toast which looked and tasted super. I had whitebait. Good beers. Genteel clientele on a Thursday. A refreshingly well run pub.

A welcoming flexible pub that had to deal with my changing the numbers for the Sunday lunch, but all accepted gracefully. The food was above average, I ordered Lambs liver cooked rare, and that is exactly how it came - delicious. The others has the roasts which welcomely came in three sizes - small, medium and large. Adding to this was the HSB beer. Thanks for a good time.

My local. Initially you may consider this a biased review, however, this establishment is more a home than just a pub. The landlord and staff here over the years have always been kind, considerate and caring. Always attentive to their customers and serve amazing food. This is an incredibly friendly pub, with a great set of locals. People who are all dear friends. If you are in the area and looking for a swift drink, then this place will meet your needs; a decent range of drinks with plenty of space, especially during the warmer months, as this pub boasts not 1, but 2 gardens. If you looking for a decent meal, then this place offers it. Great meals from a great chef. Catering for quick dishes, full meals and traditional roasts. If you're looking for a local, where you can join in and spend time with the community, then you can find no better place.

Excellent Sunday Roasts, delicious desserts. We have had Sunday lunch here twice in December and taken visiting friends. I can’t fault the Sunday Roast, it’s as good as my husband’s and he is a really good cook. The desserts are restaurant standard e.g white chocolate crème brûlée, with raspberry mousse and tiny cinnamon doughnuts. The service is efficient and friendly. And for me the ‘snowball Christmas cocktail’ was really fun and marked the start of Christmas celebrations. Thankyou to the team for your friendly welcome and consistent standard.

I was with 10 friends for lunch today and all selected a different choice. Everyone commented that the 3 course lunch was of exceptional value, perfectly cooked, presented and served. There is nowhere better to have this experience in a pub. The Landlord and Staff make sure everyone is pleased and comfortable with their experience.

Having lived in Emsworth for 30 years I’ve never actually eaten here until tonight. What a find. Great pub, fabulous food, attentive staff and wonderful atmosphere.

We went for meal on 7th September I had lasagna and chips the chips were not nice at all what ever the oil they cooked them in was horrible the garlic bread was just a piece of bread squared with bit garlic on the bread was tough boots the lasagna was very hot my partner had scampi and chips and peas the scampi was not hot the peas were hard and the chips was cooked in oil so we was not please with this meal disappointed it was all poor

Eight of us sat down for Sunday lunch, staff were friendly and food arrived quickly. Roast Beef was cooked to perfection! Desserts were on point too and generous portions. Would definitely return.

Lovely spacious garden with 2 sections plus pods for seating. Welcomes dogs. Must be popular as by 1.20 the roast lamb was sold out. Opted for beef which was served slightly pink. Yum. Massive homemade Yorkshire pudding, yum!! Extra gravy and separate cauliflower cheese, lovely. Definitely would eat here again.

Probably the best food for miles, not our first visit but never had a bad meal, never average either, always excellent, good quality food. Good choice of specials that change every week along with a menu that is completely different from your run of the mill pubs. We had bang bang chicken, grilled trout and pan fried stone bass supreme. Service is always excellent and very welcoming. Highly recommended

On a horrible wet "summers" day I had a birthday lunch with my family , 4 of us and my little dog. A really good choice, we all had something different and each meal looked and tasted amazing , I had liver and bacon , it was absolutely delicious, the others had trout, fish and chips and the vegetarian option of moussaka, followed by lemon cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding ( well it was my birthday) .The portions were generous , the food hot and delicious , the service excellent. The weather was awful but this pub has a lovely garden for when the sun does make an appearance. Will definitely be returning.

We visited The Kings Arms on Sunday with 2 of our friends to have a Sunday Roast but was pleasantly surprised with the starter options. We had the starters, 2 Lamb Tacos, Squid, 2 Onion Bharji's and Chicken Wings. They were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Staff were tentative, happy and friendly. Thank you.

Superb meal and very friendly staff. Really didn't know which main course to choose but went for Bang Bang Chicken (recommended by the kitchen) and it was delicious!

What a great find! We had dinner at the King's Arms this evening. The staff were very friendly and the pub obviously has a lot of regulars as it was buzzing by 6pm. The food was really tasty, served quickly and was very good value. They said they hoped we'd visit again. I said we would although I'd need to, and would be happy to, have the same meal again as there was only one vegetarian main. They said just call them beforehand and they'd be very happy to give me some options. I'm glad I mentioned it. We'll definitely go back.

A great atmosphere in this dog-friendly pub. We felt welcome and looked after from the start. Gluten-free dietary requirements were double-checked, which is so important for an anxiety-free meal (kudos to the chef), and our disabled dog was accommodated without fuss. We both enjoyed our choices from the specials menu. Lots of flavour and ingenuity. We will definitely visit again.

Dined here while staying just outside the village. Lovely small and welcoming pub. Good, honest food cooked to a high standard. I had the beef pie which was full of tender meat and my husband had the belly pork, both cooked and well presented. Good value for money. Very friendly young ladies serving behind the bar. Most welcome pub on a frosty and cold evening in December. Would definitely recommend but would also book a table which can be done online and confirmation email promptly returned.

We have eaten at the Kings Arms twice this month and had a very good experience on both occasions. The first time we enjoyed a beautiful lamb and mint pie with the best crispy chips I have had for a long time. Service was friendly and efficient. The second time we had Masala mushrooms on toast as a starter, this was absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed the lambs liver and I had to have Scampi so I could have the wonderful chips again! The young lady who served us was lovely and so patient with one of the more elderly members of our party. The Kings Arms is now one of our favourite places to eat in Emsworth. Good food for a sensible price.

We've recently started going for the pub quiz on a Monday. It's great fun and the staff a very friendly and welcoming. Also being a dog friendly pub is a bonus!

This is a generally nice pub, we had roasts. The deserts were very pricey for small portions, but delicious. Overriding food costs are clearly making an impact.

The food was amazing, all staff very friendly, great atmosphere, for a Wednesday evening.... will be visiting frequently from now on.

An ok, but not great family dinner was had here. There are a reasonable selection of meals as long as you don't want vegetarian! My biggest issue is that everything is very highly salted! I had to send my first plate back as the fries were completely inedible due to the quantity of salt on them. A replacement was provided but I made sure to specify NO salt at all to be added to them but even so the burger was still very salted and not really enjoyable. If you're the sort of person that likes high blood pressure and super salted food or just tip the salt cellar up without tasting your food then you'll probably like it here. But I'll probably not revisit in a hurry.

Just popped in for drinks after a four and a half mile hike. It was busy, only a bench was available to sit on. Good range of ciders and beers, lots of gins. The food smelt great and the menu looked good.
