Had a lovely experience at one of the Ember inns and Jade made us feel more special with her attentive attitude ! Food was just perfect .

First visit here as our usual venue for family meals has closed down. We really enjoyed it, the food was better than where we used to go. We ordered a rump steak and a beef and red wine lasagne, both were very nice indeed. Service is friendly, the tables are cleaned regularly and music is not too loud so you can have a conversation. We will definitely be back here soon.

Could have been a little bit warmer as it was draughty when the door opened and shut.

Nicola was lovely and sorted out a new table for us because we had some dogs with us.

Go to the pub on a regular basis. Jason has made the pub an enjoyable place. Atmosphere is good, constant events on but can also go for a chiller drink at times as well. Dog friendly and give our dog lots of attention. Nicola was also helpful at the pub as well.

Had the pleasure of nichola being my server tonight, she always had a smile on her face, very friendly and engaging and nothing was to much trouble, Food was 10/10. Will definitely be back

Came in for brunch last Saturday, service was amazing Jason was great very helpful and made our meal there warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend to friends and family, and will be visiting again! 5 stars all round

Our waitress was Nikki on Monday and it was absolutely outstanding customer service. She was very helpful and kind and had and an amazing sense of humour. I recommend the Woodpecker to all my family and friends. Alongside the high standard service the food was also incredible.

First time at the woodpecker pub/restaurant. Was welcomed with a smile and led to our table by Nichola. Absolutely first class service really warm and couldn’t ask for anything more. Recently visited with my partner and child, was greeted by Jake who instantly made us feel welcomed and paid us consistent attention to make sure our needs was met. He also showed us how to download the ember ins app to get money off out food on the next visit. He’s truely a great credit to the team. I found the food very affordable and portions were adequate. Overall a solid 10/10 meal out and will definitely visit again.

Just popped in to the Woodpecker as was passing through and glad I did! Really good food, nice atmosphere and Jake served me throughout who was super friendly and efficient. Food was super tasty and a great value set menu 🙌

What more can I say. When I walk into the pub for our usual Wednesday meal. I'm instantly greeted by two amazing servers Jade and Kya. Even when you're having a bad day, Jade and Kya can brighten up your evening. Love the atmosphere they create! Much love, Paul & Philippe xx

The food was cold on arrival. The turkey and yorkshire pudding tasted ok, but the potatoes and very small portion of veg was ruined by the pile of red cabbage on top of them. The gravy was far too salty. very disappointed.

Nicola, Jade, Nicky and Jamie were all amazing we did a bottomless brunch and we cannot fault the staff they were all lovely and up for a laugh

Christmas Day dinner, brilliant service, food was very good, staff were very helpful and friendly, To be completely honest we thought that as it was Christmas Day maybe the food standard would have slipped a little bit given who really wants to work Christmas ! But no it hadn’t, Would 100% recommend to anyone and we will definitely be back again Thanks to all the staff

Went for my birthday on a Sunday at 6pm, 3 of us had a roast dinner, sadly the roast potatoes were clearly cooked earlier in the day kept warm and were hard, same with carrots. Gravy was very watery. One of the party had burger & chips & enjoyed theirs. Apparently the beef was nice but my mushroom & spinach pie had soggy pasty. One had brownies for dessert and enjoyed it, 2 had crumble and it was ok, one had crème brûlée and enjoyed theirs. Pub had no barcardi to make a mojito which was disappointing I was refunded for the additional side plate of roast potatoes we had ordered. Haven’t been here for years and pub is looking a little tired. A shame. But staff pleasant and offered a refund as soon as I mentioned the potatoes were fairly inedible.

Had xmas dinner there xmas day . 14 of us in our party. Thanks to Jason and his team . The place was busy with loads of meals being served as well as people in for quick pint. Our meals were overall good but the carrots and sprouts were under cooked in our opinion. We enjoyed the event as a family and of course none of us were cooking or washing up this time. Well done the serving staff for getting food out still hot. Special thanks to elf and others who looked after us all. I apologise if I held them up while going to disabled loo with mu walking frame. I did say to them as we met up in narrow areas for them to keep going past me with more hot food. Get it out to tables hot 🔥 well done

Such a rude man who is the manager, no please, no thank you, no sorry, no smile. Don’t run a pub if you don’t like people. He is very lucky there is an established amount of customers who are local with no where else to go to. Don’t go here if you have another option.

Took nearly 2 hours, they had the delivery driver wait 70 minutes in the restaurant

Not good enough. I waited 50 minutes for three simple meals on December 17th. After waiting for 30 minutes, I was informed that one of the meals was unavailable and had to choose an alternative. The restaurant had customers but was not nearly full, and I wouldn't say it was busy. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointing. The presentation was poor; the chips were overcooked on the outside and undercooked in the middle. The avocado and chicken wrap was messy, and the chicken and bacon were so chewy that we had to leave them. Overall, it was a very disappointing lunch and experience, certainly not worth the £35 we paid for it. What a shame.

Had lunch today at the Woodpecker Waterlooville lovely meal had the best Hunter's Chicken chnitzel I have vere tasted well worth a visit my wife had the Posh fish and chips Sea bass Filletts And enjoyed it there were 6 of us all had lovely meals if it was local to us would use it again

Frist time we all ways Gon past it so we went on a date night nice pub lots of drinks to choose from I had a mix grill my wife had steak ask for medium it came out well done thats the only thing really the staff are a credit to the place I hope they I appreciated by the bosses we definitely will be back with are frends next week

Hello… I just wanted to say how lovely the roast rib dinner was today. The whole meal was a joy. Most unexpected due to the standard of Sunday lunch I usually find. Service with a smile too. Not so sure about the decor tho… needs a refurb I think! Thank you to the team.

Lovely roast dinner today. Beef was extremely tender and potatoes and vegetables cooked to perfection. Crumble was delicious and the chocolate sponge with the orange centre was lush. Friendly staff and great service. We have never been disappointed with any meals that we have eaten here. 😁

We used to go a lot to the woodpecker but feel that the whole service has slipped. Twice we’ve been in recently. In the first time we wanted food but because they’d been busy with take outs they had nothing left for their patrons coming in to eat. We went somewhere else. Then a couple of days ago I visited again with my daughter. Our food was brought out but my daughters was not what she’d ordered. So they took it away and I just got on with mine alone. Then 20 mins later they brought out my daughters and she ended up eating hers alone. I made a gentle comment to the server but she just laughed awkwardly and walked away. Probably won’t be back any time soon.

The food wasn't cheap but the Sunday roast was abysmal. Rock hard potatoes, the staff couldn't care less and decided as I wanted to swap red cabbage for cauliflower cheese, this would cost me a side dish. I declined but ended up with the red cabbage taken off my plate. It took nearly 50 minutes to get food despite it being half empty. A huge disappointment.

- So rude and aragont - We asked for some spoons for our pudding and they rolled there eyes and stormed off - Too busy having a catch up - asked for plain ice cream and had sauce on when we sent it back they huffed and puffed - Not worth the money - do you not recommend - food was ok
