Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely atmosphere, amazing food and very dog friendly! Definitely recommend

We had sausage mash and peas with onion gravy. Sausage was of a good quality but very badly cooked. Leathery outside and dry and overcooked inside. Mash was the same with leathery surface as if all had been reheated in microwave. Waitresses very attentive and polite. Very expensive for overcooked midweek meal.

Such a lovely pub! Food was great, staff very friendly and it's very dog friendly! Lovely range of fresh fish/crab on the specials menu.

We are so disappointed today we love to come here for a roast, Today our dinners came out cold first the waitress scooped the sweed off our plate’s and took it to be reheated then we realised the meat was also cold when the waitress came back we told her she took our plates out to the kitchen and I saw Giles waving his hands in the air then she came back with dinners and said the chef refused to re heat them there was a couple on the table next to us who had the same problem, ?? we were all so shocked at the attitude it of the chef who didn’t come out to tell us himself. We asked if we could speak to him and she said he was too busy, ! We couldn’t believe it. If we weren’t so hungry and thinking that we would most likely not get another roast anywhere else at this time would have just given it back.when the waitress came back to take our half eaten meals I asked if we would a discount as we had to sit and eat cold dinner and the waitress said no he won’t do that I’m afraid. Unbelievable really bad service Giles, (Sorry Charlotte but it really wasn’t good service at all 😡😡😡) we left with the other couple arguing with the poor waitress about their cold dinner ! Giles, I have just read you read your reply to my review, I just want to say we were not rude we just asked when we paid if we would get a discount as we had to eat a cold dinner. So we never as you so rudely said (Threw our toys out the pram) Also we never had our dinner for 10 minutes we told the waitress as soon as we took the first mouthful. The sweed was not just warm it was very cold like you had not heated at all we weren’t just being fussy. You did re heated that but as soon as we tried the meat that was also cold and you refused to re heat it so you never rectified the problem as you have said. There was a lady and her daughter sat on the next table to us had the same issue. Who ended up arguing with your waitress this was not us so I think you have your wires crossed. You can ask your waitress if you do not beleive what we are saying. We certainly never caused a seen as you say. That was the other couple.who was still arguing as we left. We asked to see you as we were going to say that we didn’t mind if you popped it it in the microwave but we were told you were too busy to come out. We paid and left and I can assure you we never upset any of you other customers. You’re not telling the truth because as you know we were not the only ones who had this issue This is the truth !

Always a lovely meal at the bluebell,this time 3 of us decided to go for the linguine special but all of us were slightly underwhelmed by it and found it rather bland, this didn't detract from the usual great service that we get at the Bluebell

We bring our Mum`s in every sunday morning for drinks, Louise and the staff always make us feel very welcome and the coffees and cider are excellent.

Booked last minute, the lovely lady i spoke to squeezed us in. The pub is very attractive from outside and inside didn’t disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, friendly team. The food was perfect, no criticism at all, giant Yorkshire , lean rare roast beef, crispy roast potatoes, huge selection of veg. Very generous portions. Wine was lovely and the rhubarb brûlée was to die for. Great value for money and all mums were given a pressie, what a lovely touch . Go, you wont be disappointed. .

What a find! Our first visit to Emsworth and we stumbled into this lovely pub. Very busy on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. We had not booked but were found a table for two in a corner, although we chose to eat at the bar. Prompt service. Delicious crab thermidor, friendly chef who chatted, a decent glass of ale and we shared a rhubarb creme brulee with homemade ginger biscuits. An all round really good experience. Will definitely be popping in again! 😋

Great local Emsworth pub. Good selection of alcohol with regular guest beers. Food is homemade and delicious. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the service is great. If you are planning to eat, especially at lunchtime, I would recommend booking a table.

Charming. We enjoyed a cheeky bacon sandwich a pint of cider and a coffee at 10:00. Just what we needed an a drizzly Monday.

Hi, my husband and I came in for lunch today. Really wanted you to know how wonderful our experience was in The Bluebell. The service was outstanding and the food was incredible. We had the 2 course Burns menu. All courses were so good. I had the potted Salmon and then the Haggis, so delicious. My husband had the soup and the Balmoral Chicken which was also perfect. You had 3 front of house staff. I believe the lady behind the bar was called Louise. We have been served by her in the past. A blonde lady front of house and a very polite young man Theo. Having worked in hospitality for many years I appreciate how challenging it can be at times. Both ladies a huge credit. Thank you and 👏🏻 we will be back. Also well done to the chefs 🙌🙌 it was great to see them in action from table 12.

Would be 5 stars but was told to move as we had a dog then 5 mins later another person sat where we were and was not asked to move 🤷‍♂️ but service for breakfast was good and its dog friendly

Lovely staff with a warm welcome. We came in for lunch which we had booked for, nice atmosphere and the menu has a wide selection. We all ordered sandwiches and a cup of soup for an extra £1.50. However we ended up waiting an hour for our food. Considering the sandwiches, apart from a bit of rare steak, there wasn’t anything to actually be cooked as it should be prepared ready anyway, not really acceptable to waiting that long. I had the prawn and crayfish sandwich, taste was nice however the rosemary sauce was very runny and so made the sandwich soggy and awkward to eat. The crab sandwich was also a bit like a runny paste. The coleslaw was tasty and the soup was delicious. About 40 minutes into our wait for food one of the servers came and apologised for the wait and that the chef was really busy, however didn’t look as though there was plate after plate being served to customers… overall was quite a nice visit but would have preferred a more honest reason why it took an hour for prepared sandwiches and soup.

Lovely staff, very attentive with good attention to detail. The food was excellent, and my ribeye was cooked perfectly, but I especially enjoyed the eggnogg brulee. All of this, plus the welcoming atmosphere, made for a lovely evening.

I had never been to this pub before, but had been recommended. What a pleasant surprise – so much more from what you want from a pub! Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in, friendly, helpful, bar staff, good menu choice and specials, really nice generous portions with very attentive staff. My Moules were the best in ages! Definitely going back again soon to try other dishes…!

Wir waren im Juni 2023 hier zum Abendessen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich & das essen kam auch echt schnell. Mein Mann, die Kinder & ich waren begeistert vom Essen. Die Butternut Squash & Goat Cheese Lasagne war die Beste die ich bis jetzt gegessen habe! (: Falls ich mal wieder in der Nähe bin, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder!

We were looking for some decent lunchtime pub food whilst visiting Emsworth mid week and called in at the Blue Bell - it was busy both at the bar and the tables, which is always a good sign. The waitress found us a table and made us feel very welcome. We settled on baguettes and had the 'chicken, chorizo and roasted pepper' and 'Mr Starrs sausage and onion' with a side of chips. It was superb, and so good to find somewhere that not only serves good food but does so with really good service from friendly staff (thank you Tina and Jasmine). Will we go back? Absolutely!

We received a lovely warm and friendly welcome from Charlotte and Louise, who were very helpful. There was a good range of ales and our lunch was excellent - could not fault it. We were impressed that it was so busy on a Monday lunchtime (a good sign of a popular pub) and we were so lucky that there was one table free. (I should mention that the lack of baguettes did not, in any way, spoil our lunch.) Thank you Bluebell. We will be back!

We went there for Sunday lunch. Its the best roast dinner I've ever had.....and sticky toffee pudding!

Popped in for lunch after a recommendation. We were very pushed for time and the pub was packed. We explained our tight timetable to the landlady, and she did everything possible to expedite our meal, which was excellent. Although very busy, she was courteous and made every customer welcome with a lovely smile with a very easy manner. Terrific service, superb food.👍👍👍

First time at the Blue bell inn emsworth and it wont be the last all four off us had the roast beef sunday dinner and the beef just melted in your mouth all the veg was fresh and the cauliflower cheese was amazing and so was the gravy. The staff we very friendly and did a great job as it was very busy. Would not hesitate to recomend this pub

Independent pub with a good range of beers on tap and a good range of food - everything we had was delicious and well executed. We really liked the friendly old school pub atmosphere. And dog friendly as a plus. Highly recommended.

The best eggs Royal I have eaten for years, great service and atmosphere. Gents only:- Just as an extra plus point the toliets were the most unique in Emsworth or maybe Hampshire. Regards Tony

Friendly little gem of a pub! We were welcomed back by Louise, despite it being our first visit! Which was actually nice! Pub was fairly busy, but plenty of comfy seating and reasonably priced homemade food. We both had lasagne and the portion size was very generous and the side salad was one of the best I have ever had. They even added a salad dressing! Despite being full up, I still made room for a mint chocolate ice cream, that was delicious! A friendly well decorated pub with friendly staff and luxury hand wash and lotion made this visit wonderful and one that we will be repeating very soon, hopefully! Thanks Helen & Charlie

Popped in with my daughter Jessi Friday lunchtime I had steak baguette with onions my daughter had fishfinger sandwich both utterly delicious. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. Do give it a try you will not be disappointed. Regards Grahame

We had x3 consecutive nights eating at the Blue Bell. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Scallops and fish (haddock) and chips were awesome. Great service, really friendly. Can’t fault it.

The service was slow (50 minute wait for food), and the Black Bean Chilli was exceptionally ordinary.

Lovely traditional pub serving great food and an excellent selection of ales. Staff attentive and friendly. Thank you, nice to add a pub to our return to list.

Stopped by for lunch which was lovely and good value. Great walk nearby along the waterfront.

Fantastic food and excellent real ale, as I visit from Croydon its a shame the dinner menue isn't a bit earlier, but never the less it's worth waiting for and have to get home late.

Stopped here for lunch for three people and it was all great food. It's a lovely location and makes a great meeting point. Highly recommended by all three of us.

Quite possibly the worse pub food I've ever had the displeasure of being served. If I could give a negative rating I would. I ordered the seafood linguini from the specials board and my wife had the chicken and bacon salad. I assumed the location of the pub beside the sea the seafood linguini on the specials board would be fresh, no it was frozen. The chicken and bacon salad looked like a dogs dinner, it was dreadful. Neither plates of food had no flavour at all and were bland. The poor food was unfortunately not reflected in the price. They were clearly fully booked because nowhere else was open on a Sunday evening.

We had one half lobster Thermidor and half with garlic butter. Both delicious! Cooked perfectly and the chips were an added bonus. At their reasonable prices I wish we had gone for the full lobster each. It was so nice I hope it becomes a regular but at the prices they charged today. I’d definitely order again and again!

Had a really lovely meal here. The whitebait starter was one of the best I've had for a long time. The steak and Stilton pie was excellent...freshly cooked and served with a good variety of veg. A really enjoyable lunch...well done !

Great little traditional English boozer offering good beers, good food, and good times. Not many tables inside so it can get quite cosy, but this is one of the attractions of the place. The staff are helpful and friendly and there’s a nice atmosphere in the evenings.

Noisy, cramped. Unwelcoming. Poor bar service. Food average. No welcome as we took our booked table. Eventually had to get up to find our own menu. Then up to the bar again to buy drinks. I'm the only customer at the bar waiting for service. Twenty pound note in hand, I wait patiently while the girl at bar continues to ignore me. Eventually, exasperated, I call to be served. My comment that I thought I must have turned into the invisible man didn't go down too well. I think it's a pub for locals.

We just had a long weekend in the area and found this pub to be our favourite, best in the village! Great beer selection, lots of food options even for fussy veggies like me. I had halloumi burger, partner had the scampi, both lovely. Service is quick and friendly and always with a smile. Decor is smart and classy and the atmosphere is chilled and friendly. Will be back when we come back down here!

This pub was popular and I know why! The food and drinks are not expensive, portions are of a good size and the food tastes good. You will need to reserve a table as it is busy and you will find it a little noisy at times. Service was prompt and efficient and the waiting time was as expected.

Really nice pub very vibrant, no vegan food on the menu but they offered to make a vegan Mediterranean pasta that was very nice

Nice food, attentive and friendly staff..

The Bluebell Inn is in Emsworth leading down to the sea. It has a public car park behind it. It has a large selection of drinks, as you would expect, as well as food. We all had fish, chips and peas. They were delivered fairly...

Myself and the wife ordered the scallops for starters .... and they were not cooked in the middle on mine and the wifes plate , I had realised at the wrong time as the lighting wasn't any good I had put half of one uncooked...

Sandwiches amazing so full. Fish finger sandwich and prawn and crayfish sandwich.

It is a great place to stop after a walk around the marina. It looks small from the outside, but there is enough space inside to enjoy a drink & a tasty meal with friendly service.
