A pub with an absolutely lovely atmosphere in the centre of the beautiful Whitstable. The pub is authentic with a cozy feel and has plenty of board games on offer that everyone was getting into, making for a lovely vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive and the drinks on offer were lovely too. Felt like a warm, friendly inn with welcoming lights and friendliness after a busy day. Definitely stop off here if you visit the town.

The land lady lacks manners and made the atmosphere very awkward, first place in Whitstable we have not felt welcome, would also like to say responding in a condescending way to reviews is further damaging to your business, rather than accepting people’s opinion, especially when you express yours of others so loudly!

Got asked to leave by a landlady clearly under the influence of a few wines being accused of something I had not done. Whitstable is busy this time of year and all the pubs are packed except this one. Deserted Saturday evening, one customer when walked past and Sunday totally shut. Used to be a nice pub, seems things have changed for the worse.

Myself and my fiance went for a few drinks and were treated abysmally. I don’t think they liked our goth vibe and we were accused of vaping in the pub, which we did not. The day trippers are welcome but quirky locals, not so much.😞 All good reviews are from tourists, not surprised the place is dead when they have gone home! Actually, neither I nor my partner ever vaped in the pub. I did not cause a scene nor swear at you, I left when was clear we were not welcome. One time we were in and had a very nice meal but was a woman at the bar openly talking about self harm. I happen to have bipolar and do have a loud voice and am sometimes a bit manic and like to chat so sorry if I annoyed anyone. I shall probably be upset about this for days. Only thing I actually said as I left was to put the tenner you gave my fiance into the Lifeboat charity box. I paid on card and doubt that the money went in charity box. You never once told my fiance repeatedly to vape outside, he always does. My partner asked what the problem was and all you said was ‘just leave’. We did nothing wrong.

Went on a rainy Monday on our first night in Whitstable for a drink and shelter and ended up staying and eating. Bar staff were welcoming and friendly. A nice atmosphere with good background music. More importantly a good selection of drinks although only one cask ale. A small menu which in my opinion is good. The quality didn’t disappoint either. All in all a very pleasant evening. The is also a small restaurant area and a pleasant outdoor garden some of which is covered. Definitely worth a visit for drinks and pub food.

Amazing the fact that they don't allow young kids in the bar area after a certain time, made for a really good and calm atmosphere. Me and my partner visited when we were away for the week. We walked in and asked if they had any tables left for food. We were informed that yes, they did but we would have to sit in the bar as the restaurant was full. This was perfectly fine. When sitting in the bar you have to go and order your food and drinks, again, not a problem at all. We ordered a hot dog and a burger, this took over and hour to arrive. When it did arrive the food was hot and fresh, the landlady had realized that we had been waiting for ages and provided us with a free drink to say sorry.

We both had the Beef with extras of cauli cheese and stuffing balls . Lovely crispy spuds and proper home made Yorkshire pudding . Nice glass of Malbec 🍷. Absolutely terrible person that tries to use her power of being a business owner and clearly not being able to handle her own merchandise to intimidate her own customers. My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice English place in Whitstable for some food. We had a brief look at the menu online and thought we'd give it a go. What a lovely pub, it has a great interior, general selection of drinks you could expect. Nice garden area, and the restaurant upstairs was fantastic. The food was exceptional and had incredible value for money. We were served by a wonderful woman who was behind the bar and guided us upstairs, she kept the logs going and was even kind enough that she charged my phone behind the bar. I would absolutely recommend this place for some good old English food. We had the scampi. What makes it great is that the menus kept simple short and sweet. Nothing too complicated or expensive. Only thing I would say is you should do is bring back the Fish and Chips! I think it'd fit right into the menu. We'll be back sometime in the future. Fantastic thank you for the hospitality and the food 👌.

Since Adrian retired and Andy and Clive left, the cafe (and showroom), have gone seriously downhill, £2 for a cup of Nescafe!!! only one or two customers, there is no atmosphere, or banter in the cafe or showroom, it's more or less been turned into a car showroom, i.e. only interested in closing deals, "goodbye, next! I don't think it will be long before it's closed!

Had such a great night! The bar staff was super! We met the lovely owners Richard and Bobbie what a pleasure it was to meet such lovely people and lovely faces! Great atmosphere! And that view is just incredible! Good prices for drinks! All rounder fantastic evening! Will definitely be coming again! If you’re in the Whitstable area I absolutely recommend this beautiful bar!

Absolute little hidden gem. The Food is always delicious. Generous portions too and always consistent with quality. ROAST DINNERS ARE A MUST HAVE. There's nothing better than a pub with a brilliant work force behind it. Emma and her great team are amazing.
