My wife, kids, and I stayed in UK for an entire week for vacation and spent all of our time in London, Brighton, and Canterbury and this was the best meal by far that we had during our time in the UK. Their spirits and beers are brewed and distilled in-house and are all delicious! I highly recommend getting a flight of the infused gins and try a few half pints of their beers. It's all delicious. I personally had the Cajun chicken burger. 10/10 would definitely eat here again given the chance.

Super friendly staff and incredible food. The pie was delicious and SO big, such nice portions and reasonably priced. Great selection of drinks, highly recommended.

Great place for a pub lunch when in Canterbury. Plenty of space for families. Food was delicious and service was excellent and friendly. There is a large selection of beers brewed on the premises which are worth a try. The Canterbury Pale Ale was particularly good. Recommend a visit

Great Sunday roast, friendly service and a beer tasting of 5 beers is always a good idea

Wanted to like this place. A friendly bar supervisor. The South Island lager was so hoppy as to be an IPA...not for me. The Canterbury premium... No bite...not for me. I had been so looking forward to trying this place. 20% off the 2 drinks above that I didn't drink. A good Hendricks and Fevertree. A real shame.

Pub in Canterbury, not far from the Cathedral. Not to be missed as it is a microbrewery with a wide variety of beers on the menu! Good choice of food.

Enjoy the local beer a lot. The whiskey tastes young but the aroma is beautiful. Japanese Jin is another must try

Very nice brewery/pub. Friendly service! They looked well after us. Food was good, pubfood, not perfect. I bet the brisket hadn’t been smoked for 8 hours. It was tasty though. The beer tasting menu was very nice. Maybe better not served all at once.

A lovely place with lovely staff BUT and that’s a BIG BUT, they have a no dog law!! Our dog was devastated, utterly inconsolable.

Excellent brewpub with a large selection of beers, four on cask the remaining 11 on keg. Great atmosphere and great beer. They also have a large selection of spirits distilled on site. I had the tasting paddle of 5 different beers in one third measures then tried 25ml of their single malt whisky. The Foundry black was my favourite beer and the whisky was delicious. I didn't eat here but the food served at the table next to me looked and smelt good. The staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient at their job. I'm very tempted to book myself on a tour next time I come to Canterbury.

This was a cool place to hang out. Beer was on point. On the must revisit next time in Canterbury.

Had a reunion here today, spent a good amount of time in here, food, drinkies nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely place to have some drinks and food. The staff is really helpful and kind, we spend 2 nights in a row there. They make an awesome craft beer, i Will definetly come back when I can.

Delicious food with many beer options brewed onsite. Off the beaten path and not your usual Canterbury 'pubby" feel. But, a nice respite from the crowds — worth the 2 block walk off the main drag for reliably good food and nice beers. Reasonably priced. Vegan options.

What an incredible place! We loved our brewery and distillery tour and tasting, John was exceptional - so passionate and knowledgeable and tasting the products (gin and beer) you can tell why they've won so many awards. Highly recommend, absolutely brilliant.

Their beers are low gluten content!!! I braved to try them and have no complaints whatsoever. I also had their burger with a gluten-free bun, and it was quite nice. The patty was huge, too! My friend had Fish and Chips, and she loved it!

Was really looking forward to Sunday lunch here, which I booked in advance. Only to discover they had sold out of both lamb & beef by 1pm. The food we did get from took an hour to arrive - and wasn’t great. The staff kept telling us how busy they were… which was strange, given the restaurant was only half full. All in all - really disappointing. It’s a place that seems to struggle with organising themselves to serve their customers.

Very nice beer and good solid egg, ham and chips that filled a post Wye to Canterbury walk. Service was good and the beer was very much welcome. Will be back for the Nitro.

Staying in Canterbury and found this great place, been two consecutive nights, had beer and fries first time, when back second night and had great steak and ale pie. Beer is excellent, covers most tastes, food great, staff absolutely brilliant. Well recommend a visit. They also do local gins and spirits

Wide and excellent choice of beers made on the premises, served up by the best crew in town. Food is delicious and filling. Lovely location in an old foundry and the heritage is reflected in the pictures on the wall. Always a top night out for locals and a Canterbury must do for visitors. 10/10.

Really great place for beer tasting in Canterbury, would definitely recommend. The food, however, is was not that great- we had the chicken wings and they were very average. The sweet potato fries were good. Also would recommend booking a table first as we could not find a place!

Amazing food, service and drinks. This is an incredible brewpub and we can’t wait to go back. Restaurant acoustics were a bit harsh if you’re expecting a quiet dinner but it is a pub to be fair.

Want to go to a great brew pub and distillery? Look no further than the Foundry. We regularly travel from near Maidstone to frequent this great establishment. Great range of beers from fruit beers to green hop when the season is right. Also have their own range of English whisky and gin which are second to none, Japanese gin needs a special mention. Jon and Jodie run an awesome team of happy, knowledgeable and friendly staff. On our most recent visit we had a meal in the restaurant as well as some drinks and the food did not disappoint. Big portions of lovingly cooked food (the brewpub platter was the definition of BIG!), credit to the kitchen team. Great atmosphere on a Saturday and will be back again soon! Keep it up guys!

We had a meal in the 40th as a large party of 12 including children and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the pie and the brisket. The service was prompt, friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great. A few of our group enjoyed the beer tasting planks. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will hopefully be back soon.

All the drinks are brewed on site, and they have a wonderful old english style brown ale drink sometimes available, I definitely would highly recommend it for a small party. I would not recommend for larger parties as the staff will be quite "a little funny" to customers they do not like "the smell of" but other than that this is definitely a place to get a lovely old fashioned locally brewed english drink! I'll drink to that! Cheers!

Really great experience - found this by chance looking at somewhere affordable to eat in Canterbury. Atmosphere was lovely - really nicely decorated - not too loud so could have a conversation Staff were so lovely :) And the food was AMAZING! They had so many options to suit a range of tastes, and it was cooked perfectly! It was so nice actually, that as soon as we got home my dad was making plans to return. The cost of the food wasnt bad but totally reflected the quality of the food. Couldn't fault any part of this experience.

Very good location in the Canterbury’s old city centre - a plus, a bit off the crowded main high street. Spacious, lots of choices in terms of beer and food (kind of a pub style). Beers styles approach is a balance between the traditional way and the more modern way of brewing. Brewery visits are possible on an appointment basis. They also have a distillery, but I haven’t tried their products. Definitely, a place to visit if in Canterbury.

Solid range of beers, ciders and spirits all made on site. Plus it's cozy and fantastic. The staff are great too.

I booked a large table here a few weeks ago for Sunday just gone for a family dinner, pre Panto. We had never been to The Foundry before, being so close to Christmas I didn’t know if they would be able to accommodate us. It’s a family tradition to come to Canterbury each year some of us travelling from Suffolk and we have previously eaten at another local pub. After last year we decided to look for an alternative eatery as they had been less than accommodating. I must say our whole party of 14 were extremely happy with the choice…. Absolutely everything was lovely, the food, the drinks, where we were sat and especially the service and communication from Flo the manager. She had taken the liberty to email me the day before for a preorder so they were prepared for us and didn’t keep us waiting longer than necessary at a busy time. Not only was our order taken but without asking Flo had split the bills into families for us so that made our lives easier at the end of the meal. This was clearly the work of someone who is very well accustomed to large parties and dealing with keeping her customers happy. The Beers and Ciders went down a treat and the food was delicious and well priced. I told Flo at the time, but we will be returning to The Foundry next year and it’s now our new pre panto place 👌🏼😀 Thanks for making our afternoon so enjoyable!

Local family runned business. My boyfriend said they have one of the best sour beer he ever tried. And price is very friendly. There are so many different types of beer they brewed themselves. And they do their home made rum also. We will definately coming back.

I had the Foundry Burger which was delicious and obviously made with a good quality beef mince. This was followed by the Biscoff Cheesecake which was lovely. The Foundry is the ideal place to come for atmosphere and if you are hungry as the portions are large!

A cool place and bound to be popular with students (if they can afford it). Very slightly off the beaten track but plenty of signage to help you find it. The beer I tried (their saison) was very nice but a tad on the cool side. My main gripe though was that you have to be shown to a table. I like to walk into a pub, go to the bar, get a drink and find a table or just stand up. This all seemed a bit "continental" but continental brought on by a pandemic. Didn't have a meal. The service was very good; all very young. Second visit: much the same. I still don't much like having to be shown to a table and given table service in a pub. Friendly, helpful staff, pricey.

We came to Canterbury with a family member that lives nearby and were looking for a place to eat after walking we found the Foundry where we saw the menu and instantly agreed I had a the foundry burger and chips it was fantastic. For dessert I picked the best chocolate brownie with ice cream and it was amazing. Our experience was made better with our waitress who I unfortunately forgot their name she had blonde hair and glasses and was really upbeat. Thank you for a great meal

A quiet time of day when we arrived, just after noon, however most tables were occupied (in the main bar) by the time we left. A beer flight of 5xthird pints, is a good option, if you want a variety of tastes. You choose the beers from their own brews, which are brewed on site. Good selection of alcohol free and low alcohol drinks are available. Food was really tasty and relativity in expensive.

The fish and chips and coleslaw were absolutely amazing! Highly recommended

Great Brewery/pub for a meal and a drink. They brew their own beer and ciders and they have a great selection to choose from. IPA, porters or lagers, you name it! Amazing Sunday roast too and a super friendly staff!

Great venue, great beer, great service. I didn't stop for food so can't comment on that but the tasters with 5 thirds for £11 are a great way to sample more of the beer. It looks like they have a good selection of gin and other spirits but I didn't get chance to sample any of them. It is disappointing that dogs are not allowed inside but bar staff are happy to serve at the tables outside so not too much of a problem.

The Foundry Brew pub has a superb selection of beers, the staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. I would reccomend this pub to all particularly the taster tray which gives a great sample of whichever beers you like.

Absolut zu empfehlen! Der Service ist super, man isst dort sehr lecker und sitzt in tollem Ambiente. Durch die eigene Brauerei gibt es eine riesige Auswahl an Bier und Cider. Die Portionen vom Essen sind ausreichend groß, man wird gut satt!

Just had a meal here with my wife. Not very happy with the fish and chips. I don’t think the oil has been changed in a while. Instead of being gold it was dark brown. On this occasion of drinking the beer the gold ale it was not as good as the first time I had it.

Was looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled on the foundry. And very glad we did. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Great beer, and gins and excellent food. Would recommend the foundry to anyone. 👌👌👌

Ottimo pub! Siamo stati a pranzo dopo la visita alla cattedrale (5 minuti a piedi) e siamo rimasti assolutamente soddisfatti. La mia Steak pie era enorme e molto gustosa. Patatine croccanti come gli anelli di cipolla. Burger molto gustoso così come il fish and chips ed il pollo alla cacciatore. Ottima selezione di birre: molto buone. Prezzo nella media (70/80 sterline per pranzare in 4) dei prezzi inglesi ed assolutamente corretto per la qualità e quantità proposta.

After discovery of this fantastic venue, a second visit was definitely on the cards and once again we were very pleased with the food, service and venue. Not only do they serve unique and freshly prepared dishes (which taste as good as they look) with a friendly smile and warm welcome, they also have a selection of home brewed ales, beers and other beverages not found elsewhere. We will most definitely be back again to try other items from their interesting menu selection.

Super brasserie! Nous avons mangé en famille (parents + 2 garçons de 8 et 4 ans) un vendredi soir. Les hamburgers et les frites sont un régal et le coleslaw maison délicieux. Le personnel était très sympa! Nous y reviendrons à notre prochain voyage!

Das Essen war großartig! Wir waren in Canterburry nur auf der Durchreise und haben spontan ein Restaurant gesucht. Von Außen sowie Innen sieht das Restaurant toll aus. Wir saßen unten vor dem Raum, bei dem das Bier gebraut wird. Wir hatten den Foundry Burger, die Chicken Faijtas und Beef Brisket und alles hat fantastisch geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Ich kann dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen!

We took part in the tour (definitely worth it) which was a great experience and added a lot to the experience. After we decided to try as many beers as possible via their tasting paddle offer. Great beer, friendly people, food that hits the spot!

Lovely find! Being a vegetarian, this has been the first time in the UK I found a 'pub meal' that was delicious and hearty. The cheese, leek and sweet potato pie was delicious and, a very generous serving. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices very reasonable as well. 😊

Good selection of craft beers . The beer tasting tray is actually worth getting since you get five different beers, that are bigger than in most places ,and for a good price.

Beers were good. The lagers were better than others. Purple Beer was surprisingly good. Sharing the updated menu with new prices here. Also- Mezze platter was yum.

Good atmosphere and super service! We had pretty amazing food. Been told the booze was great (On medication and driving, so I couldn't taste myself, yet!) This is the second time we dropped by, so there's a chance we'd visit again.

We just went to try the beers on our day trip to Canterbury, 5 1/3 pints to taste from their Brewery for a bit more than £10 that we thought was good. Although most of them were very flat with exception of the stout. Friendly staff and nice vibe overall from the place.

Came here last year and enjoyed the beers, although the main room was a bit chilly it provided plenty of space and privacy for my wife, baby and French Bulldog. Just tried to visit again today (March '23) but the place no longer accepts dogs which I think is rather short sighted. They did however suggest an alternative dog friendly pub which did good food so that was helpful
