Really picturesque country pub. Welcoming staff, a good selection of beers with a huge garden and dog friendly Had a Sunday roast with the family here today It was really good, all properly home cook to perfection.

Great place, a large varied menu and the food was excellent and portions were more than plenty. Service from the young blonde waitress was very good and she had a great sense of humour. All in all a very good experience and would recommend this eatery and would go back.

Absolutely cracking meal here tonight. Veal chop with fries and Sticky Toffee Pudding with Custard. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff were great. We will be back!

My husband and myself were invited to spend the evening at this pub by my old employer and his wife. The beef stroganoff and the Thai curry were beautiful but my duck breast was uneatable, you could have soled a shoe with it. I felt I could not complain as I didn't want to embarrass the host. I think the chef definitely needs to learn how to cook it. It was expensive but inedible. Service was good and staff helpful. Would definitely go back but steer clear of the duck.

I love finding my new favourite places to eat! Doesn't happen as often as I'd like. I took an art class here this morning. Was given a complimentary glass of prosecco. Wonderfully friendly managers and staff. Stayed for lunch, it was amazing. I had the halloumi wrap, which came with chips and slaw. Extremely well presented and oh so delicious. I left stuffed and extremely satisfied. Can't wait to go back. Great atmosphere. The only thing missing was any ghost stories, considering the age of the building.

Came here last month, we had tried before but it was fully booked. The menu has a lot of variety and dishes from all around the world. I ordered noodles with duck, they were slightly overcooked and moushy but large quantity, worth what you are paying for. We will come again to try different dishes. Nice atmosphere and staff were Nice too.

Had a beautiful lunch after a long, cold and wet walk (in August!). The staff were efficient and the food was delicious. Loads of dishes to choose from to suit all palates and purses. Oh and of course, dog friendly!

Beautiful pub with a great menu, the hardest part is deciding what to eat.

We came here last Sunday around 2pm for a late lunch. Upon arrival I was a little worried as I didn't know if there would be any outside tables. I need not have worried. There was 6 of us and we got a large table in the marquee which was lovely. The food was ordered and came within a reasonable amount of time. The portions were huge and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were all extremely polite and professional and I felt very comfortable at the pub. At first glance it may seem a little pricey, however once the food comes out you can clearly see that you do get extremely good value for your money. Not only were the meals delivered to the tables within a good time, they were all cooked to perfection and certainly very fresh. I would definitely recommend this pub and it's food.

Portion sizes are nuts! In a very good way! Slightly slightly on the expensive side, but you do get great portions and the food is amazing!

There was nothing we could fault. Duck spring rolls & brie wedges were lovely. For mains the pie of the day was incredible, the mash was creamy & veg cooked to perfection. Had a biscoff cheesecake with vanilla icecream for desert, yummy! The drinks and food all came out in good time. The waiting staff were very friendly and informative. We sat in an area which I belive was an old stable? The ambiance was great. Thank you guys for a beautiful meal! Your chef is a credit to you.

Beautiful country pub. We had roasts and they are plenty big enough. The beef was a little tough and the lamb a little fatty but still a good roast. A nice selection of beer too

Very cosy pub that’s perfect for a quiet rendezvous. Literally, no matter the time of year, this place is always quiet! If you’re not in the mood for a rowdier kind of venue, you’ll enjoy the atmosphere that this pub has to offer. The owners (Caroline and Simon) are the friendliest pub owners I’ve ever met; they’re always so welcoming, cheery, and have good banter. If it’s quiet enough, they’ll even come sit and have a drink with you.

Over-all, poor. Please read to end. Long time customer, "final straw" reviewer. Pub buildings are nice, fire inviting, and comfortable seating inside and out. However, I have had many issues over the years, my last visit had the following: -Poor attitude from staff, not exactly rude, but verging on it. Definitely unwelcoming, despite the venue being near empty and with new local competition, it boggles the mind as to why. -Trying to pass off one menu item for another. Whilst it is normal to have run out of an item, or to discontinue something, not to tell the customer at the point of order, or even when the chef receives the order is very bad service. It does however reach another level when at the table side a server tries to "blag" it. Passing off the lemon chicken dish as schnitzel is laughable. It was refunded. -Chef visited loo with apron on. Let's start off with my credentials, I have worked in catering for 6 years, I own more than one catering business. I hold a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate. Leaving a food prep area wearing an apron is an absolute no-no, lest visiting the facilities. The apron isn't to protect you from food, it's to protect the food from you and your clothes. Very, very poor. I

Absolutely rubbish bought meals in there for 4 years, went down hill a couple off years ago. Tried it tonight for old time sack people at the bar swearing there heads off. And if I go into a restaurant I don't want to eat with people's dogs.

Lovely garden, clean, safe play equipment for the kids, nice menu, plenty of choice & the food was really good. Only knocked one star off because it would have been nice if the kids sausages were better quality meat and we were over-charged for our drinks in error. (Didnt work it out until back out in the garden. No biggie, just a bit annoying! I'm sure they'd have sorted it if we bothered to flag it.) Otherwise everything was lovely, the team was really friendly & the surroundings were very nice. Would recommend as a family-friendly pub for drinks or food.

Great location, in the middle of the countryside. The employees were super friendly and helpful. Had a delicious light lunch and a bottle of wine... Definitely a pub to visit when browsing the local plant nurseries.

Food is always a high standard, with a decent variation of sides included. There's a excellent selection of drinks on offer, and staff are always very friendly and welcoming: it's a nice place to go for dinner with family, as much as it is for a catch up with friends for a drink. Would definitely recommend the pie.

Worst sunday beef ive ever had fatty with no taste the roast potatoes where deep fat fried not roasted complained to staff no refund offered was told by staff they have had issues with meat suppliers avoid the food even the vegetarian pie was well under cooked really soggy pie guess wont be back again

Very friendly hostelry allowing dogs inside very pleasant lunch with coffee in the gardeñ. The unique brick vaulted dining area has hosted pleasant memories many years ago.
